Shockwave 10 on Firefox Not Working

After receiving a message from Adobe Update that there was a
new version of Shockwave, I followed the link, but Firefox failed
to automatically install the plugin. So I tried manual
installation, but when I ran the executable, it just said
"Congratulations! You have successfully installed the Shockwave
Player" without even letting me select the browser I wanted to
install for. No page or confirmation movie popped up. So I went
back to the automatic installation page to see if it had worked,
but it says I need to click on the IE info bar; I am using Firefox,
not IE, and there is no bar or message at all. Shockwave does show
up in my Add/Remove Programs list and np32dsw.dll is in my Firefox
plugins folder, but it still does not work, and it seems that it
doesn't support Firefox, because it thinks that I am using IE. I
only found one site with a fix, but it was removed for legal
reasons. Is there a way to get Shockwave 10 to work with
Firefox?

All your internal stuff like scripts etc should be relative referenced. The issue does occur in IE it just behaves a bit differently Greg.
Cross domain is not a browser thing but a web thing.
Certificates will not validate when you have this sort of thing occur.
If your using 3rd party services like google fonts you should look to use // instead of http:// in front of the URL.

  • Why does Firefox not work here in China anymore, since January of 2015?

I have used Firefox for years, as the fastest and most reliable browser for me, esp in China... not anymore! Last month (unknown to me) a hijacker called Vosteran took over my Firefox browser. I finally realized it and got it cleaned up using Malwarebytes anti-malware, and downloaded a new Firefox... now SAME problem exists, even with Vosteran removed!
Firefox will not allow me into ANY normal sites, saying they don't have the proper security code. This includes my Yahoo front page, email account, ESPN and other common sites that are certainly NOT dangerous. So, WHY does Firefox not work anymore? It is useless to me here in China the way it works now.

hello rickinchina, first please make sure that the '''date, time & timezone''' are set correctly on your system and that firefox is set to directly connect to the internet (that's the "'''no proxy'''" setting in the firefox ''menu ≡ > options > advanced > network > connection - settings...'').
if this doesn't solve the issue (or it is already set properly), a possible solution depends on different factors:
    * what is the '''error code''' shown under ''technical details'' on the error page?
in case the error code equals ''sec_error_unknown_issuer'', please attempt to add an exception on the bottom of the error page (but don't do it for real) and inspect the certificate (see the screenshot attached for instructions):
    * which '''issuer information''' does the certificate contain?
please report back with those two pieces of information. thank you!

  • New firefox not working well at all!

Since this new version Firefox takes an excessive amount of time to start up, and seems to crash all the time. Trying to go to my bank every time tried to input, user name etc screen would fade and would get message "Firefox not responding". Other things noted does not open my home page when I start, this just started to happen today. Was not opening my home page when I opened another tab, that was from install, Just does not work for me would like to keep using but if I cant even go to my bank then there is no point.

  • Shockwave flash plugin not working at all!! HELP

So, here is my problem, I have windows 8.1 64bit and running the latest mozilla firefox.
I've had a lot of problems with flash player (32bit), videos not working properly, loading very slow.. (i have fast internet, working good) then i updated flash and it totally stoped working.
Resetting Firefox does not work for me. Flash player is not working at all, so i had to uninstall it. i uninstalled both flash player and shockwave player. i tried having only flash player - still not working.
    I've already tried these too:
    -Uninstalling and re-installing flash player
-Uninstalling and re-installing in Safe Mode
-Turning off hardware acceleration in both Firefox and flash player
-i have updated all drivers on my computer
Still not working at all! WHY?

This add-on will prevent Flash from running on the web page until you want.
    '''[https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/flashblock/ Flash block]''' {web link}
Never be annoyed by a Flash animation again! Blocks Flash so it
won't get in your way, but if you want to see it, just click on it
If you have problems with current Shockwave Flash plugin versions then check this:
    * see if there are updates for your graphics drive drivers
    '''https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration'''

  • Firefox Not Working on Some Websites (Ex: Hotmail, GMX, WoWhead)

Whenever I log into Hotmail, I am unable to open any of my e-mails. When I go to GMX, the page just loads indefinitely. When I search for something on WoWHead, I can't see anything under the "Contribution" or "Related" fields.
It appears that some sort of plug-in is not working correctly, I am assuming JavaScript. I completely uninstalled both firefox and Java, then reinstalled them. It did not correct the problem. I am also having these problems with IE.

When I reinstalled, I tried it without AddOns. I've also ran Firefox in safemode, along with Internet Explorer. It still didn't work.
Hotmail and GMX Mail work with Internet Explorer, except for that I am experiencing the same problems with both Firefox and IE.

  • Firefox not working on Windows 8.1 after update to 32.0

For the last three versions 30.0, 31.0, and 32.0 Firefox will not work after updating on my Windows 8.1 laptop. I have tried resetting Firefox to default state, uninstalling and reinstalling, and resetting my TCP/IP stack (which usually fixes the problem). I also have gone to Internet Options in IE 11 and unchecked the automatically detect settings under the LAN connection options and then rechecked it without success. I also have Chrome installed on my machine as a check to see if it lies within the browser or my internet connection.
Internet Explorer 11 is the only browser that works so something seems to be amiss in Firefox.

Hello kschmit05, any luck in you boot the computer in [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/windows-startup-settings-including-safe-mode Windows Safe mode with network support], select in the Startup Settings screen > Enable Safe Mode with Networking.

  • Profile cannot be loaded, profile manager cannot be accessed, firefox not working

This is somewhat similar to other listed profile manager problems but none of the answers worked for me. OS is Win 8-64 bit. Have 2 user accounts. Admin and Limited. In Admin, Firefox works, can access Profile Manager, there is this profile.ini etc. Everything ok.
But in the Limited account, can not access Firefox. When clicked, it says 'Your Firefox profile can not be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible'. Cannot access Profile Manager "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -p. Gives the same error message (Firefox not running).
Tried copying files in the Admin in to Limited. But the error message is same.
Uninstalled and installed using the Limited Account (supplying Admin password), no result.
    Please help me.
    Thank you for your time.

    Hello jcbala
see '''IF''' we can create a test profile in the location you want, type the command:

has gmail stopped supporting firefox new versions? i dont want to switch to chrome? wat can i do?
    am using windows xp sp3

This is silly (and stupid). Why should I have to go to IE anything? Firefox worked fine with gmail until I went to this new version (16), I went to the beta version and gmail still did not work. I thought you guys were supposed to be unbiased? I should be able to use one program for my mail and my internet and not lose any of my cookies or services. I went to you guys because I was able to use all the services without any problems, now need two services so I can use my mail (no, I am not changing mail services...I like gmail and have a very set and established email address. It would cause a lot of problems trying to get my friends to memorize a new one...we like the one I have now).
It should not be THAT DIFFICULT to allow access to gmail. Work with each other, you will be amazed at what you can accomplish. Thank you, NukeGeek

  • Firefox not working at all

    Hi,
I have recently downloaded mozilla firefox, and installed this as per your website. However, once installed the shortcut for mozilla, is not working. Instead of showing the orange fox/blue symbol, the symbol looks like a square box with a green background and a very miniture list of what would usually pop up when you right click on something. If you double click on the program (too open and use it), an error message comes up and says "Missing Shortcut: Windows is searching for firefox.exe. To locate the file yourself, click Browse." There then is the browse... and cancel button. So in the end firefox doesn't actually work, can you help with this? I have tried to re-download/re-install it however this has not fixed the problem.

Make sure you keep an eye on the Help | Check For Updates menu. The latest version is 3.6.16 downloadable from [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html Firefox: Older Versions] but it may be updated from time to time. You always get the choice of whether you want to update to v4.0 or not, so don't be afraid of checking.

  • Firefox not working

I am from Java/j2ee application team, Our application does not work with the latest version of FoxFire (FF4.0).you can have look into the website: https://www.santandercards.co.uk/eservice/authentication/asda where signin button is missing however we have more issue inside the application
    We basically used in that JavaScript it has an object variable called pattern;
var pattern = new Object(); However we are not sure why our application not working for FoxFire (FF4.0), but this works for other version.
Looking forward to know your quick response and suggestion on this.

Maybe it's the simple solution? Have you tried opening Firefox from the Applications menu. If it opens there, the dock icon is corrupt. If so, you can drag it to the trash, then drag Firefox from the applications menu to the dock creating another icon.

  • Does Firefox not work on Mac PPC paltform

I am trying to find out if Firefox 5 does not work on Mac PPC platform.

*Firefox 4 versions and later do not run on a PowerPC Mac.
*Firefox 4 and later require at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac.
    * http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/5.0/system-requirements/
For an unofficial Firefox 4 compatible version (TenFourFox) that runs on PowerPC Macs with OS X 10.4.11 or OS X 10.5.8 you can look at:
    * http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/

  • Links in Chrome and FireFox not working

    Firstly , hello everyone
I am new to every aspect of computing and web design and would really appreciate some help with a problem I have. I know my code is a  mess and I am trying very hard to clean this up. This is my first attempt at a web site and I would very much appreciate some help with this problem.
I have placed 1 text link in a table at the bottom of the page (contact us) and this works in opera and I.E. 8 . It does not work in chrome or fire fox and I would like some help to solve this so I can finish this first template page for my web site. I have no other browsers to check this in at the moment
Here is the link to my site http://compare100.com/demo/
and the css file is located at http://compare100.com/demo/css/style.css
    Thanks   Andy

Those two only handle font transition and color changes. Not likely that they would cause a link to go dead.
Take a look at how it validates:

  • Firefox not working, instructed to create a new profile, said it would save old files, restarted firefox, all old files seem to be gone? Can anyone explain?

I was having issues with Firefox opening. I opened my Safari browser to troubleshoot and after looking for solutions to Firefox not opening, I opened the firefox profile manager. The directions instructed me to create a new profile and then delete my old one (and save old files). I did that and then upon restarting firefox all my bookmarks, history, passwords etc. were gone. When I looked at the folders in my profile file, they all had creation dates of only a few minutes prior. Did I lose it all? I followed the instructions, I don't understand where all my information went.

Did you use the Profile Manager or did you use reset to create that new profile?
A reset tries to import some data from the old profile and then moves the profile to the desktop, but if you use the Profile Manager then you need to copy that data yourself to the new profile.
If you've deleted the old profile before making sure that your data has been recovered then you've lost that personal data.
