Shockwave Flash ActiveX reference?

Hello. I am trying to embed the Shockwave Flash ActiveX
object into my C++ application. I am having a hard time finding the
official reference documentation for the interfaces. Does anyone
have a link on hand?
Thank you for your help!

Hola samsara 1970:
Pues al parecer o tienes desactivado el control active x del
sockwave Flash
Player o bien tienes activado el bloqueo de ventanas
emergentes o pop us,
That's all.

  • When i had used the shockwave flash activeX, i always have to insert the activeX class again, like the first time. And when i build an aplication, the activeX doesn't work.

How can i solve this problem?

First you should verify that your activeX is correctly registered in your system.
    Execute the command: REGSVR32
    Then try again.

  • In PowerPoint I Have Shockwave ActiveX Control - How do I Get Shockwave Flash Object?

I'm running the latest versions of Windows 7 and PowerPoint via Parallels on my Mac. I want to insert a Flash movie into a PowerPoint slide. The instructions I've found tell me to look in Developer section->More Controls, find Shockwave Flash Object, use it to insert a Flash Object, and then to edit the Movie property of that object. But, I do not see Shockwave Flash Object. Instead I see Shockwave ActiveX Control. The properties of Shockwave ActiveX Control do not include a Movie property.
I have gone to "http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/" and clicked the option to install the Shockwave Player, but the site says the Shockwave Player is already installed.
How can I get the Shockwave Flash Object for PowerPoint into my installation?
Thanks very much in advance to all for any info.

Hi Vik..  I don't use Powerpoint but I do know about Shockwave Flash Object. It is in the manage add ons and installs when Flash Player is installed. It is an ActiveX Control and if you have the latest FP installed, Flash10d.ocx should be listed on the same line. It may or may not list the version #, which would be 10.0.42.34. It must be enabled.
Beyond that info I could give you a link to a thread that involved powerpoint 2003 and 2007 if you think that would be of
    any help to you.
    Just post back.
    Thanks

  • Flash Player dosn't work in IE 11 even shockwave flash object is activated

    Hello,
Flash Player dosn't work in IE 11 even shockwave flash object is activated.
I've installed Adobe Flash Player Version 16.0.0.287 (today).
    then
    I  checked on this page:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/de/flash-player.html
says Flash Player not installed or not activated
    Active X Version 16.0.0.287
    Internet Explorer 11
    Win 7 SP1 32 Bit
    Please help me.
    Thank you in advance
    Paul

First, confirm that ActiveX Filtering is configured to allow Flash content:
    https://forums.adobe.com/thread/867968
Internet Explorer 11 introduces a number of changes both to how the browser identifies itself to remote web servers, and to how it processes JavaScript intended to target behaviors specific to Internet Explorer. Unfortunately, this means that content on some sites will be broken until the content provider changes their site to conform to the new development approach required by modern versions of IE.
You can try to work around these issues by using Compatibility View:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view#ie=ie-11
If that is too inconvenient, using Google Chrome may be a preferable alternative.

  • PDF Portfolio on Flash ActiveX

Is there any way to open PDF Portfolio's SWF file in Flash ActiveX (Visual C++ project)? How to implement communications between Flash ActiveX and its container? I know that Adobe has public PDF Reference and PDF portfolio is a part of this, but I can’t find any information about viewing PDF Portfolio content.

I was looking for it but I could not find. Please, give me the directions where I can find that documentation. Give me the link or send that documentation to [email protected] I'll be very grateful for any information concerning this subject. Can you tell me also what company has implemented viewing of PDF Portfolios with this method?

  • What are the distinctions between Adobe Flash Player & Shockwave Player & Shockwave Flash?

I find references to what seem to be three distinct things:
    Adobe Flash Player
    Shockwave Player
    Shockwave Flash
Treatment of these things is interwoven and confusing:.
As an example, the Adobe Shockwave Player page at URL:  http://www.adobe.com/products/shockwaveplayer/  provides a link to a page to test whether Shockwave Player is installed.   That test, however, is the test to see whether Adobe Flash Player ins installed.
On my Mac running OS X 10.6.4 Firefox 8.0.1 has a Plug-In named Shockwave Flash 11.0.1.152.
Are these things indeed distinct?  Is it likely that both (or all three) are needed on the same computer?  The Adobe web site should clearly define the relationships at a high level of visibility.

Basically, the Flash player is just that: you can watch videos, but you can't interact with them.
To give it its full name, Shockwave For Director is primarily used for things like games, or demos where the user can interact with the animation.
The current version of the Shockwave (For Director) player is 11.6.3.633 while the current Flash player is 11.1.102.55

  • Flash ActiveX, FScommand

    Hello All
I would appreciate a little guidance on a issue I'm having.
    I am using A'ware 7.02 and Flash 8.
I am building a wrapper program that launches a flash-based
assessment that is designed to work with a Scorm-compliant LMS.
There has been a breakdown in rolling out the LMS, so I've had to
simulate an LMS within the wrapper, so that it can run on a network
drive until the servers are ready.
The assessment communicates with a flash-based utitlity that
directs most of the communication between Aware and the Assessment.
The only way I have been able to successfully have all three
pieces communicate with each other is to launch the two flash
pieces using the Shockwave for Flash Active X control. The problem
is there are 5 assessments and growing, each in a unique location.
I have had to have a unique sprite for each assessment because I
can't figure out how to do a relative path in the control.
I don't like not being able to add assessments without going
back into the Aware peice. Any suggestions?
I have not seen any documentation on best practices when
having three different programs communicate this way.

    Few questions...
    1. When you refer to 'two flash pieces' in your fifth
    paragraph, are these
the utility and the assessment itself?
    2. IMO you'll have to learn the inner workings of the utility
    in order to
have it launch each new assessment on the fly. It should be
    possible to do
    this, however.
    3. Relative paths should not be a problem in the ActiveX
    itself...rather,
you'll be using the ActiveX to control the logic of the
    utility.
    4. Finally a general question...if this tool/simulation
    you're building is
a short-term solution until the servers are set up, is it
    really worth
building? Why not just wait until the servers are ready?
    OTOH, it might be
a great thing for you, as you'll be learning a lot about
    Flash-AW
    communication.
    Additional comments....
SCORM based assessments that I've worked with send out a data
    package when
the 'submit' button is pressed by the assessment-taker and
    this follows a
stardard format of 9 specified fields. If you like send me
    the relevant
files (including the FLA of the utility if you can get it)
    and I'll try to
sort it all out for you.
Also, as you say there is little documentation on having
    three programs
communicate. There is, however, a nice little piece of
    documentation on the
Flash ActiveX control API, which I'll send you if you contact
    me.

I have both versions 10 and 12 of shockwave Flash on Firefox OS 26.  I wish to delete or remove V10 but can't from any process I know including Windows\system32\macromed\flash  path.  This deletes both of them .
    What next?

    Flash Player Uninstaller
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
I recommend keeping BOTH ActiveX and the regular Player Plugin installed, even if you don't use IE.

  • Need Detailed description of the differences between Adobe Flash Player Plugin and Shockwave Flash

For many years now I have been in a quandry over Adobe Flash (plugin) and Shockwave flash. The quandry is also somewhat exacerbated by the variety of subsetted versions supplied for each.
You know, it is sorta like the name and namespace dilemna provided by Adobe's continuing use of "Macromedia" when sometimes referring to, or distributing, their products... eg still creating Macromedia folders during installs.
I have been told that Shockwave Flash actually contains the Flash plugins. If that is the case should I be upgrading to a newer Shockwave Flash version if  Adobe announces or (as recently occurred) denounces
a newer version of Adobe Flash.
Will you please provide me with details for, and distinctions between, these two products?
Hoping you can respond in a flash ... er... two flashes.
    Thanks

OK Thanks I silly-goofed in describing what I meant in my initial post. I needed to say what's the diff between Adobe Flash (=Shockwave Flash) (plugin) and Adobe Shockwave Player.
So will you please detail the differences between Adobe Flash (=Shockwave Flash) and Shockwave Player?
I have been told that Shockwave Player actually contains the Adobe Flash (=Shockwave Flash) plugins. Is it both
Flash Player ActiveX control for Internet Explorer
Flash Player plugin for all other browsers
    that are contained therein?
If the above is indeed the case, should I be upgrading to a newer Shockwave Player version if  Adobe announces or (as recently occurred) denounces a newer version of Adobe Flash (=Shockwave Flash) .
Here's where I am headed will all this:
I have been asked by one of your coworkers Chris Campbell,  to prepare an Adobe Bug report and paste back to the Adobe Forum thread:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4428382#4428382
Since I have Adobe Shockwave Player 11.6.4.634 and Adobe Flash (aka Adobe Shockwave Flash) ver 11,1,102,55 currently installed and since
Adobe Flash 11.2.202.235 will not install without a "...The  procedure entry point ... kernel32.dll ..." error for my Windows 2000 Professional configuration
I want to uninstall Adobe Flash (=Shockwave Flash) ver 11,1,102,55 and the then further troubleshoot the MLB.TV media player "abnormal spinning circles" problem.
Will the MLB NexDef detector actually detect the "Flash version inside Shockwave player"?  Will the MLB.TV NexDef software actually work nicely with Shockwave Player Flash?

  • Shockwave Flash plug-in crashing

Lately, I've been getting the following message:  "The following plug-in has crashed: Shockwave Flash" in a yellow bar near the top of my browsers.  I get the same error in chrome, IE8, Firefox, etc.
When I go into control panel --> Flash Player --> Advanced Tab, the Updates portion, Plug-in Version:  Not Installed,  ActiveX Version:  11.1.102.55.  I suspect it has something to do with the plug-in version.  When I check for updates at http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ it says, "You have version 11,1,102,55 installed".  I've tried uninstalling all "Adobe Flash Player..." programs and re-installing them to no avail.  I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Chrome with no luck.
    Here's my stats:
    Windows XP Professional SP3
    Intel(R) Core(TM2)2 Duo CPU
    e6750 @ 2.66Ghz
    3.48 GB of RAM
    IE version 8.0.6001.18702

Could you please go the uninstall/reinstall route again, but do it according to my instructions in this post: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4081633#4081633

Your version of Macromedia Flash ActiveX Control isn't compatible with this version of Windows.

  • "Shockwave Flash plug-in has crashed" in Google Chrome Web Browser

    Hi,
I keep getting the following message when using Google Chrome web browser:
"The following plug-in has crashed: Shockwave Flash"
When I start using Google Chrome, Flash is working fine but normally after about 15 minutes usage I get the message.  If I close down Google Chrome and start again, Flash is working fine again for a little while and then crashes again.  I have to say it is now getting quite annoying as I do prefer to use Google Chrome to Internet Explorer for various reasons but it never crashes in Internet Explorer.  Is there anyone that can help me with this please?
I am using a Sony Vaio VGN-FZ38M laptop and my operating system is Vista.  I am also using the latest version of Google Chrome.
    Thanks
    Sue

    Thanks for your comments eidnolb.
I have gone to the test site for each of the browsers I use; Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer and Google Chrome.  For each one, they display the animation and the correct, most up-to-date version of Adobe Flash Player.
With regard to the adblock/adblock plus for Chrome, I do not know what you are referring to as I cannot find any reference to adblocks in the tools menu.  It's certainly not something that I have intentionally turned off or on so it will be at whatever default setting Chrome comes with.
The Shockwave Flash plugin is enabled for all 3 browsers which is, I guess, why I am seeing the animation.  Unfortunately, with Chrome the Shockwave Flash will eventually crash whilst I am using it.  Do you have any further thoughts on why it might be crashing please?
    Cheers
    Sue

  • Shockwave 11 ActiveX crashes when referenced

When you try to add an ActiveX control to the cast and select
the Shockwave ActiveX control (Two are listed both create the same
result) then Director terminates immidiately. This only occurs if
Shockwave 11 is installed. I've tested this on Director 11,
Director MX 2004, and Authorware 7.02. All of them crash when
trying to reference the Shockwave 11 ActiveX. Previous versions of
Shockwave do not exhibit this issue.

    Jey Joe,
as long as I remember that combo would crash.
Also with all previous shockwave versions I tested. I dont
    remember
which versions those were, but my first attempt must have
    been at
    least 5 years ago.
The last time I tried was a few months ago, when I thought of
    it as a
last attempt to try to make something work.
Its obviously something you should not do.
Can you not just link the movie instead?

  • Shockwave Flash Object add on causes websites to freeze, asks to recover webpage

    Hi there
I am experiencing issues with browsing websites with Shockwave Flash Object add-on for IE11 enabled.
I have a Remote Desktop server (2008R2 sp1) with 50 users. When enabled, browsing to websites becomes almost impossible - the sites i browse lock up and a message appears saying the webpage needs to be recovered.
I have found a work around - enabling ActiveX Filtering, however, it is annoying having to add pages to the exceptions list for ActiveX filtering each time I hit a page that requires activex controls.
I have attempted to uninstall/reinstall Flash, upgrading to latest version, and even downgrading to previous versions, all without success.
I have tried resetting IE settings, and gone to the extent of creating additional users to test, however, no matter what I have tried the issue is still present.
Are there any other options I can try to help resolve this issue?
