Shockwave Flash Crash

I'm having problem with the Adobe Flash Player Plugin as it crashes every time I try to open YouTube, Vimeo or any other flash based videos on the web.  I get,
"The following plug-in has crashed: Shockwave Flash" in Google Chrome and Chromium.
On Google Chrome both the Flash Plugin crashes in the same way..

you should go do some search b4 asking, there're many way adobe flash player sucks....dont just ask
there's a /etc/mms.cfg , you may want to take a look.
i also recommend gnash over adobe for youtube, since it has like full support for vdpau, opengl
you can also cclive and play it with mplayer.

  • Shockwave flash crashing on IE Chrome Firefox

Ok i am having issues of playin games on facebook and watching videos on Livestream and even live preaching my IE freezes up once i click to watch and chrome tells me shockwave flash crashed this has started happening recently since i downloaded the new update never had this happen before please help i would love to watch and plays games again

I have been having the same issues with Google Chrome too. It usually happens when i have more than  one website loading a Flash Animation. Also, I experienced a lot of crashes due to my computer's processing speed(it is pretty old).
What kind of computer do you have? Is your graphics card suitable to play high-rendered video games(you must understand that now flash animations are getting more complex and heavier in terms of size and dynamics)/. What is the latest version of your flash software?
Another thing I would do is not having three different browsers. I usually stick to one. Also check if you have any kind of software that might be blocking programs from executing(such as ad-blockers, anitivirus etc.).
    Hope this information helps,

  • Shockwave Flash Crashing on Google Chrome

    ADVANCED TROUBLESHOOTING.
Installation errors can manifest themselves in many different ways, including (but not limited to) the following:
A blank or flickering dialog box
    A frozen cursor or screen
An error message such as, "An error occurred during the installation process. A required file is missing."
Different factors can cause installation errors, including problems with operating system components, conflicting start-up items, and hardware conflicts. To benefit most from this document, perform the tasks in order. Keep track of the tasks you perform and the results of each task, including errors or problematic behavior. Adobe Technical Support can use this information to better assist you, if you need to call.
    Beginning troubleshooting
The tasks in this section can help you resolve the most common system errors. Before performing any of these tasks, back up all personal files (for example, Shockwave Player files you created). Always restart the computer after a system error occurs to refresh its memory. Continuing to work without restarting the computer may compound the problem.
    1. Make sure that the system meets the minimum requirements for Shockwave Player.
Shockwave Player may not run correctly on a system that doesn't meet the following requirements:
PowerPC G4 or G5 or Mac Intel processor
    Mac OS X 10.3, 10.4 or 10.5
    128 MB of RAM
180 MB of available hard-disk space
Note: To check how much RAM is installed, choose About This Mac from the Apple menu. The Memory value indicates the amount of installed RAM.2. Reinstall Shockwave Player.
An incorrect installation can cause errors when you work in Shockwave Player. Reinstalling Shockwave Player can eliminate these errors. To reinstall Shockwave Player:
Move any personal files from the Shockwave Player folder on the hard disk to another location.
Delete the Shockwave Player folder on the hard disk.
Complete task 'command+option+escape' to force quit open applications. The task number may change; it should refer to the task above, "Run Shockwave Player while no other applications are running."
Double-click the installer file in the Shockwave Player folder on the desktop.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Note: If you previously installed an update to Shockwave Player, then reinstall the update after you reinstall Shockwave Player.
    3. Install Shockwave Player with the Login Items disabled for the user account.
To disable nonessential extensions located in the user accounts Login Items folder: Press Shift while you restart the computer. Pressing Shift disables any applications that are in the Login Items folder.
    4. Log in as a user with administrator access privileges.
If you lack administrator access privileges, then Shockwave Player may be unable to install necessary files. To determine if limited privileges cause the problem, log in as a user with access privileges, and try to re-create the problem. If the problem doesn't recur, then the account you were previously using lacks access privileges. Contact your system administrator to grant you access privileges. To log in as a user with access privileges:
From the Apple menu, choose Log Out.
Click Log Out when the system returns the message "Are you sure you want to quit all applications and log out now?"
When the log in screen appears, select a user with access privileges, type the appropriate password, and then press Return.
    5. Install Shockwave Player from within a new user account.
Occasionally, a user account can become corrupted and prevent the installer from accessing or creating the necessary files and folders. Create a new account, log in to the new account, and then try to install Shockwave Player. To create a new user account:
From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
    Click Accounts.
Click the lock icon if it's closed, and log in to make changes.
    Click the plus sign.
Create a new user account. Make sure to remember the new password and to give the account administrative privileges by selecting Allow User to Administer This Computer.
Click Create Account and close the Accounts window.
Choose Log Out from the Apple menu.
Log into the new user account.
    6. Install Shockwave Player from the desktop.
Some system components--for example, device drivers and virus protection utilities--can conflict with the Shockwave Player installer and result in an incomplete or failed installation. To prevent these conflicts, install Shockwave Player from the desktop.
Copy the Shockwave Player folder to the desktop.
Open the Shockwave Player folder on the desktop.
Double-click the Setup file, and follow the on-screen instructions
    7. Install current Mac OS X updates.
Updates to the Mac OS X operating system can improve its performance and compatibility with applications. You can obtain Mac OS X updates from the Apple website atwww.apple.com/downloads/macosx/, or choose Software Update from the Apple menu. For assistance installing updates, contact Apple technical support.Important: Before you install a system update, check the system requirements for Shockwave Player 11 (and any third-party software or hardware you may use with Shockwave Player) to ensure compatibility. If the update isn't listed, then contact Adobe or the manufacturer of your third-party software or hardware.
    Intermediate troubleshooting
If the tasks in the previous section don't solve the problem, then try the following intermediate troubleshooting tasks.
    8. Repair disk permissions by running Disk Utility.
If you log in to an account with administrator privileges, but are still unable to install or run Shockwave Player, then your disk permissions may be damaged. To repair your permissions using the Disk Utility:
Choose Go > Applications, open the Utilities folder, and then double-click Disk Utility.
Select the volume on which you want to install Shockwave Player, and then click Repair Disk Permissions.
    Click the First Aid tab.
    9. Optimize hard disks.
Installation or application errors can occur if the hard disk is very fragmented. Optimizing the hard disk rearranges files to minimize future fragmenting. It also restores fragmented files into single contiguous blocks, making hard disk space more accessible to the installer.Use a disk-optimizing utility, such as Symantec Norton Utilities, to optimize (defragment) each hard disk. For instructions on using a utility, refer to the documentation included with the utility.
    10. Check hard disks for damage.
A damaged hard disk can cause installation errors. Check hard disks using a disk utility, such as Apple Disk Utility, Symantec Norton Utilities, or Micromat Drive 10.Disclaimer: Adobe doesn't support third-party disk utilities but provides the following instructions as a courtesy. For support, contact the developer of the disk utility. To check for damage by using Apple Disk Utility (included on the system CD):
Start the computer from the system CD.
Choose Installer > Open Disk Utility.
Select the disks to be checked, and then click the First Aid tab.
Click Repair to check and, if necessary, repair selected disks.
    11. Remove fonts from the Fonts folder in the Library folder before installing Shockwave Player.
Drag all fonts from the Fonts folder in the Library folder to a new folder on the desktop.
    Restart the computer.
    Install Shockwave Player.
Move all fonts back to the Fonts folder in the Library folder after installation is complete.
    12. Scan for viruses.
Use current anti-virus software, such as McAfee Virex or Symantec Norton AntiVirus, to check the system for viruses. Make sure that you have the latest virus definitions for the anti-virus software you use. Although virus infections are rare, they can cause unexpected system behavior, including installation errors. Running virus-detection software regularly (for example, daily) prevents viruses from damaging software on the system. For instructions on running or obtaining the latest updates to the virus-detection software, refer to its documentation.

Try to disable Protected Mode in Flash 11.3 and above by adding the line ProtectedMode=0 to the Flash "mms.cfg" file located in one of these locations: [46]
    (Windows 32bit) C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash
    (Windows 64bit) C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash
For example, on a Windows 7 64-bit system, open the C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash folder, copy the file "mms.cfg" to the desktop, open it in Notepad, add a new line ProtectedMode=0 and then close Notepad, saving your changes. Next, go back to the C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash folder, rename the original file to "mms.cfgBAK" (to save it as a backup) and then drag and drop in the modified "mms.cfg" file from the desktop. [47] [48] [49]
Note: To re-enable Flash Protected Mode, either restore a backup of the original mms.cfg file, if you saved one, or else re-edit the mms.cfg file to remove the ProtectedMode=0 line you added. Updating Flash Player or installing a newer version does not automatically re-enable Protected Mode

  • How to fix, shockwave flash crashes (a lot)

    Hi
    What to do...
I have Vista ultimate and Firefox.
Two days ago Shockwave flash started crashing (the popup said it had stopped working).  When the plugin crashes it freezes Firefox and the plugin crashed so often that in order to use Firefox I have had to completely disable Shockwave.
I have tried reinstalling the Shockwave plugin but no improvement.  I never realized how much web content uses Shockwave flash...
The plugin crashes on practically everything that's it would be involved in running (except Utube, that works, I don't know if the plugin is involved in playing utube videos).
Any and all suggestions are appreciated...
    Regards

  • Shockwave Flash crashes when hooked up to an external monitor

    Hi,
I believe I have finally pinpointed a problem with my Adobe Schockwave Flash plug-in. When I am hooked up to my external monitor and use my flash player, I receive a message saying:
"The following plug-in has crashed: Adobe Shockwave Flash"
I have no idea why this is; I have thoroughly searched for a solution to no avail.
    My computer:
    Alienware M11x R3
    Windows 7 Standard 64-bit
    Flash Version: WIN 11,0,1,152
    NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M
    Google Chrome 14.0.835.202m
    My Monitor:
    Alienware 2210
--The driver software for this is up to date.
The stranger thing is, it only crashes on Google Chrome. It doesn't crash on Internet Explorer, I do not know what kind of an issue. Does anyone know how to solve this issue? I can give any additional information if needed.
    Thanks,
    -Chris

Have the same problem. It happens only with the new plugin in Chrome :
    Google Chrome

  • Shockwave Flash crashing.

I keep getting the same error message constantly not allowing me to accomplish any work. It says Shockwave Flash may be busy or unresponsive and I have the choice between waiting to see if it responds or to stop script. I have to stop script everytime though otherwise my entire browser feezes. Someone please tell me how to fix this so I can get back to work. I use the current version of Mozilla and everything else looks up to date so I really do not kow what to do. I have tried resetting Mozilla, downloading Adobe and Mozilla again, ran every scan I can think of, watched the movie Hackers because I got bored and I need to get some work done.

I had this problem repeatedly over the past month on my Windows 7 desktop. I removed and re-installed the Adobe Flash plugin several times, to no effect.
Last week, I checked my other Firefox plugins and noticed a Microsoft Media Player plugin and a Microsoft Silverlight plugin. I uninstalled both of these programs, removed both plugins from the Firefox plugins tab, and then restarted the computer. No more crashes!
Today, I re-installed MS Silverlight as a test (because Windows Update kept asking me to), and sure enough, Flash started crashing again. So, I uninstalled Silverlight, removed the Silverlight plugin, and restarted Firefox. Problem solved again! ;-)

  • Adobe Flash Player / Shockwave Flash Crashing

Adobe Flash and Shockwave Flash are crashing several times a day on my computer.  Windows 8.1 and firefox v 34.0.
I can recreate the issue sometimes by right clicking on flash media, which will lock up my browser for several seconds and then cause a crash.
Can anyone give me some suggestions for where to start troubleshooting this issue?
    Thank you,
    Bruce

I've seen a lot of stability reports around Windows 8, Firefox and Flash Player.
Both Google Chrome and Internet Explorer have invested heavily in bringing a highly tuned experience and modern plug-in interfaces to Windows 8.  Improving plug-in support is not a priority for Firefox, and although we continue to address stability issue where they make sense, most of what I'm seeing are generic crashes and hangs that boil down into the fundamental inefficiency in retrofitting a modern sandboxing approach necessary to protect users in today's security landscape with a plugin architecture from the 1990s.
While I'm more than happy to take a look at your crash reports, I'm pretty sure that this is the conclusion we'll arrive at based on the last several folks I've talked to about this.

  • Adobe shockwave flash crashes frequently how do i fix it

This plug in crashes constantly, I cannot use many programs because of this problem

my God ! had this problem too, but the following solution on some web site did the job for me:
    * Run Reginout scan for active-x, file associations and other registry errors largely behind such crashes. http://www.filetransit.com/download.php?id=79029
    * Try to uninstall the current flash player version. (Read this official guide to uninstall flash plugin: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
    * Use official uninstaller tool to remove all flash elements from your computer.
    * After completing the above task download flash player 9 instead of the latest version. However, latest version is preferred. for latest version visit this link: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
Sometimes there are intricate browser flash conflicts and changing the versions is often helpful.
    * if you are having problems while installing flash then read this stuff:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19166.html
    * Update your sound drivers if possible since the videos may simply crash or freeze because of the corrupted or missing drivers.
    1) Open Device Manager
    2) Find the sound-card device
    3) Remember the name of the device
    4) Uninstall it.
    5) After doing this restart your system and update the drivers if they are not automatically updated.
