Shockwave flash object in Word doesn´t appear in PDF (Acrobat X Pro 10.1.4)

I have a Microsoft Word document with many shockwave flash objects linked to graphs. The Word document has macro that dynamically links these graphs (SWF files) to the shockwave flash objects. The graphs aren't embedded, they are linked because they have to be loaded when the Word document is opened.
In the Word document the graphs are loaded OK but when the Word document is converted to a PDF the graphs are shown completely blank.
Does anyone know why it happens and if there's a solution to this problem?

If the full version can, does the trial version also enable this - am not really looking forwards to paying for software & then finding still yet to be resolved..?

Shockwave Flash Object add on causes websites to freeze, asks to recover webpage

Hi there
I am experiencing issues with browsing websites with Shockwave Flash Object add-on for IE11 enabled.
I have a Remote Desktop server (2008R2 sp1) with 50 users. When enabled, browsing to websites becomes almost impossible - the sites i browse lock up and a message appears saying the webpage needs to be recovered.
I have found a work around - enabling ActiveX Filtering, however, it is annoying having to add pages to the exceptions list for ActiveX filtering each time I hit a page that requires activex controls.
I have attempted to uninstall/reinstall Flash, upgrading to latest version, and even downgrading to previous versions, all without success.
I have tried resetting IE settings, and gone to the extent of creating additional users to test, however, no matter what I have tried the issue is still present.
Are there any other options I can try to help resolve this issue?

Shockwave Flash object in Word2007 only converting to Image in PDF using Acrobat9 Pro

I set the Shockwave Flash object to embed: True & the video is located locally, so why isn't Acrobat 9 Pro converting the word video to pdf video.
I've tried:
- using 'Acrobat' section on Word ribbon to convert
- saving Word file to Acrobat using word's 'save as' command
- using Adobe printer within Word
- opening the Word file from within Acrobat
Ive just reskimmed the Word 'advanced' & 'saving' options & I can't see any extra checks to make.

Shockwave flash object add-on slowing down Internet Explorer

Hi Greetings for the day. Have you guys ever heard that the Shockwave flash object add-on is slowing down IE? I noticed this happens in all IE versions and it doesn't matter which OS you are using. I am a technician myself and I work for AT&T Connectech and experienced this issue on different computers a hundred times at least. With the shockwave add-on enabled, IE will take more than 5-10 minutes just to load Google website or it will not at all. The cursor will just keep spinning. If we go to add-ons and disable Shockwave Flash Object, everything will load as it is supposed to.
However, if we disable shockwave add-on, the user will no longer be able to play any online videos or do anything that required flash player. I have tried reinstalling Adobe Flash Player with its different versions and none helped. Sometimes, downgrading the Internet Explorer would correct the problem. In most instances it too failed. If you guys have any information on this and how to resolve it, please mail me. Thanks and regards

Pat and Mike, thank you for your responses. This issue look strange to me as well! No, there are no processes taking much space. In most cases, the CPU usage will be less than 15-20%. In few instances, I noticed svhost is taking more space. Still, IE could not load any websites. I mentioned that Google thing since even if Google doesn't require flash, it still takes for ever to load with the flash addon enabled.
I started to notice this almost an year ago. What we would do is either disable shockwave addon and educate the user about the same and install another browser for backup.

I really hope that someone on these Forums will be able to
help me; I know that I'm not alone with this awful Shockwave
probllem that's keeping all of us PC-Game enthusiasts from playing
our games. Since the last week of March 2008 I've 'Googled';
written on several help-Forums; and e-mailed 'Shockwave';
Microsoft; Oberon-Media; MSN Games about the "Shockwave----DRM
Keyhole----game launcher....'has stopped working' errors", and I
haven't heard from ANYONE who could tell me why I can't play my
games!!!
However; I noticed something on my own while cleaning out my
cookies 2 days ago, and I'm hoping that I might have found somethig
that'll fix things, it's just that I'm not very knowledgeable about
troubleshooting, and what I think is a solution is just a big, fat
nothing....that's why I'm writing for EXPERT ADVICE!
As I said earlier, I was cleaning out my cookies when it hit
me that there's also a tab there to "VIEW OBJECTS" where Active-X,
Flash and other odd-ball things are kept. (Tools>Internet
Options>Browsing History>Settings>.....
and then you can pick 'View Files' to clean the cookies and
to the left is 'View Objects'. Since I remembered
seeing those little icons for Macromedia in there on my old
PC, I just thought I'd check to see if IE-7 was set up the same
way, and there it was.....down toward the end of the list was the
following:
"Shockwave Flash Object" next to it under "status" was the
word, ""DAMAGED" .....3/24/08.....version 9,0,124,0"
Does this info mean anything?? I tried to update it like it
was done in XP, where you right-click on the object and
the drop-down menu gave you several options; one of which was
to repair or update or something like that; however
when right-clicking here in Vista Home Premium, the only
choice you get is "Properties".
I've tried downloading and installing Shockwave over the
version that's already installed (as the instructions tell you),
but I STILL can't get rid of the "Damaged" version. Should I remove
the 'damaged' one first, and then install the new one, (although I
have NOT been able to delete it from my "Downloaded Files" even
after trying to delete it by using more than one method....moe than
one time!), or do I need to do something else??
PLEASE HELP ME and all the other totally frustrated
game-lovers here in cyberspace to FIX OUR BROKEN

wish I had more info as far as web sites giving me problems, but I
don't have any problems when I'm working on-line. I went to
Shockwave's site, and I installed the one they had available, I
think it's Version 11. The ONLY time I run into any difficulty is
when I click on any of the games I've purchased, (like from
Oberon-Media; Shockwave, etc.) I was so hopeful that the "damaged"
Shockwave thing I found was going to be the answer, but I guess
not. :( The error messages I get are different with each game, but
they all say that my "something or other" has stopped working. The
things that have stopped working are the following:
"DRM Keyhole Application"...or...."Game Launcher " or
"Shockwave.com"........has stopped working.

Shockwave Flash Object Suddenly Stopped Working but Works in IE

I am using a shockwave flash object (mp3 player) that has been working in Firefox for months but now has suddenly stopped working. The player doesn't even show up on the webpage.
The odd thing is that this player shows up and works perfectly in IE but other browsers exhibit the same problem as Firefox.

We're in the process of figuring this out with Google. I've read reports that the Chrome beta channel does not have this problem, but your mileage may vary. Please see this Chrome bug report for details.

First, confirm that ActiveX Filtering is configured to allow Flash content:

Internet Explorer 11 introduces a number of changes both to how the browser identifies itself to remote web servers, and to how it processes JavaScript intended to target behaviors specific to Internet Explorer. Unfortunately, this means that content on some sites will be broken until the content provider changes their site to conform to the new development approach required by modern versions of IE.
You can try to work around these issues by using Compatibility View:

If that is too inconvenient, using Google Chrome may be a preferable alternative.

Embedding a youtube video in Powerpoint 2010 via a shockwave flash object

We have a user, has found recently, when he adds a 'shockwave flash object'
in Microsoft PowerPoint 2010, and adds a YouTube link, next to the
"movie" field within the properties of the shockwave flash object, it
will not show the YouTube video window (with the play button etc.) and will not
play the video.
The user thinks the current version of Adobe flash is causing this (version:
14.0.0.145) and would be grateful if any staff from Adobe or anyone else has any
ideas if this version does cause this problem and if there is a way to resolve
it, or if a new release of Adobe Flash player will address this and if so when
it will be released.

Embedded application/x-shockwave-flash objects will not display

4.0b9 on Windows XP
I just get a white section where a shockwave flash object should be, and in all the occurences I've found it's when the flash object is embedded. Youtube works just fine, though...
In the "white section" I can right-click and get the options for Adobe Flash Player 10, but I cannot actually choose any of the menu options.
In some cases, I can choose to display the flash object in another tab, and then it works just fine. Typically an embedded youtube movie clip acts like that that, but not always.
In an example, I see only a white section where the shockwave flash object should be visible in Pichfork TV - http://pitchfork.com/tv/
When I open the page information, in the media section, list of URL's, I find an URL that is both grey and italic, and describes this URL as type Embedded:

Type - application/x-shockwave-flash
I assume this URL is grey and italic because it is not loaded or opened in the pitchfork TV site.
This is the same problem with most embedded flash objects, and I really hope someone can help me! I've browsed aroud the support forums and tried a lot of different tips, but to no avail.
I have of course uninstalled and reinstalled both flash player and shockwave from adobe's site, and made sure it's not the active-x version for IE that's installed.
My add-in manager claims that Shockwave Flash 10.1 r102 is installed and enabled, and the release is the latest available according to adobe.com.
I have also tried to open FF in secure/private mode, but same problem in both modes.
Just to check, I tried to open this site with IE8, and there it displays correctly (and I also remembered why I don't ever use IE8, haha...), so apparently the active-x part of shockwave/flash works...

OK, so now I've tried again to open FF in safe mode again, but the problem is still unsolved. Same problem in safe mode.
The hardware acceleration in the flash player is set to disabled long before I posted this problem.
I didn't know that Pitchfork had such a special flash player, but the problem is the same on any sites. Just chose Pitchfork because it's an English site. Bad example then...

Here I only see a white space where the flash object is embedded (if it really IS embedded, I dont't know how these things work). But I can right-click and get the dialog for Adobe Flash Player 10 properties (such as settings and global settings), and if I'm lucky to hit the start button (wich I don't see), the flash object starts playing, and I hear all sound but see no image.
I open the page info menu, and here I find in the list of media URL's the link to the flash object, described as an embedded object in the NME site:

It's grey and italic in the list of media URL's, and I assume that's because it's not properly loaded.
But if I copy the URL from the media URL list and paste it into the adress field of a new tab, I can both see and hear the flash object without a problem.
This is exactly the same issue with local sites that have embedded web radio stations. Cant see the object, and have to be quite lucky to hit the start button. But by stepping via info for site and copy the URL to the flash object and paste it into a new, empty tab, I can both see and hear whatever was supposed to display in the original site.
Any help would be more than welcome! So many of the sites I use most has embedded flash objects, so if I cannot solve this I have to find another browser. I REALLY don't want to, because otherwise I really love FF...

In PowerPoint I Have Shockwave ActiveX Control - How do I Get Shockwave Flash Object?

I'm running the latest versions of Windows 7 and PowerPoint via Parallels on my Mac. I want to insert a Flash movie into a PowerPoint slide. The instructions I've found tell me to look in Developer section->More Controls, find Shockwave Flash Object, use it to insert a Flash Object, and then to edit the Movie property of that object. But, I do not see Shockwave Flash Object. Instead I see Shockwave ActiveX Control. The properties of Shockwave ActiveX Control do not include a Movie property.
I have gone to "http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/" and clicked the option to install the Shockwave Player, but the site says the Shockwave Player is already installed.
How can I get the Shockwave Flash Object for PowerPoint into my installation?

Hi Vik.. I don't use Powerpoint but I do know about Shockwave Flash Object. It is in the manage add ons and installs when Flash Player is installed. It is an ActiveX Control and if you have the latest FP installed, Flash10d.ocx should be listed on the same line. It may or may not list the version #, which would be 10.0.42.34. It must be enabled.
Beyond that info I could give you a link to a thread that involved powerpoint 2003 and 2007 if you think that would be of
any help to you.

Adobe Flash Player not working--Shockwave Flash Object not installing

Ok...let's try this again. Somehow my previous discussion that I had been working on with eidnolb got marked as "Answered" when it wasn't. If you are reading this and are also having problems with Adobe Flash Player, please START YOUR OWN THREAD! That allows someone to help you individually and will hopefully prevent MY question from being accidentally marked as "Answered" when it's not. THANK YOU!
Now to start the whole process over....
1. When I download the latest version of Adobe Flash Player, my computer says it's succesful. I'm able to verify through Add/Remove Programs that it IS on the computer. However, when I'm on a site that requires AFP--like Hulu or YouTube--I get a message that says I need to download the latest version.
2. When I was working with eidnolb before, we found that for some reason the Shockwave Flash Object wasn't on my computer, even though I uninstalled and installed AFP several times and also restarted my computer.
3. I use Windows XP Professional Version 2002, Service Pack 3 and Internet Explorer 8. My computer also has AVG 9.0.830 for anti-virus protection and Spyware Blaster. The only firewall I use is the standard Microsoft firewall that came already installed.
4. I am the administrator on my computer. I have also made sure the following are disabled when I download AFP: anti-virus program, anti-spyware program, firewall, all add-ons in Explorer, and any messenger programs.

said that if you try to use Flashplayer with Internet Explorer 8 (64 bit) it won't work and you'll just keep getting the message to "Install Flashplayer" over and over even if you can see in your files that you already have it installed. They told me to use the 32 bit version of IE 8, or another browser such as Mozilla Foxfire or Google Chrome (both of which are 32 bit). Now I can watch Hulu with any of these three browsers. I didn't have to turn of AVG at all; but I have AVG 2011 Free Version 10.0.1170 downloaded from http://www.download.com . Also, according to the first website shown above, you don't have the latest version of Flashplayer, which is recommended by Adobe.

This Flash Player issue is giving me fits, so I'm hoping one of you might have experienced this before. Websites visited on this tablet do not recognize Adobe Flash Player. I have installed Adobe Flash Player ver 11.5.502.135 for Internet Explorer. I've ran some updated antivirus and found a bunch of signatures, but I removed right away. (Malwarebytes, Spybot S&D)
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I’m about ready to nuke the hard drive and start over.

Thank you for the reply. Sorry if I wasn't clear on my earlier post. That is correct, the page was incorrectly detecting the browser as Opera. I was using IE9. It was very strange.
I corrected it performing a Windows System restore from the previous month.

Missing 'shockwave flash object' in powerpoint

Hi,
I've read hundrews of tutorials on how to add a file into a powerpoint 2007 presentation. For some reason though, I don't have the option of 'shockwave flash object' in the menu.
I am running windows 7 new as of 2 days ago and a copy of office I downloaded from microsoft 2 days ago. I have re-installed both Flash Player and Office - both with no succession. Is there any way I can fix this?
I've tried searching for the .ocx file - but have no idea what it could be called and found nothing that looked remotely related.
Does anyone have any idea what I can do? The project is due tomorrow at 9am - and I've been working on this one bit for all of today without getting any closer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have installed PowerPoint 2010 beta release on my machine. I was able to attach a SWF file to the presentation successfully. All options to insert a video are located on the Insert tab, in the Media group. Please refer to the link below on how to insert a flash movie to the presentation.

Shockwave Flash Object 11.8.800.94 hangs. Disabled, website works.

Shockwave Flash Object 11.8.800.94 hangs website when certain pages using Flash are displayed. Disable Shockwave, website works. This occurs with IE and Firefox. Anyone else see the same thing? What is the work around?

Regarding poor Flash performance, this is some standard guidance that addresses the most common issues. I'm sure you've seen some of it before, but just in case:
(1) Make sure all recorders/downloaders that interact with Flash media are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them.
(2) Disable hardware graphics acceleration in Firefox and in Flash
(A) In Firefox, un-check the box here and restart:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General > "Use hardware acceleration when available"

(3) Disable protected mode (Windows Vista/7/8)
