Shockwave flash will not let me upgrade cause I messed up in trying.
I tried to many times to download shockwave flash and it now it won't let me and it shows still needs to be updated.
Thank-you Cor-el for trying to help me but firefox says it needs to be upgraded so I guess I'll just wait awhile and try again. The directions that are given for downloading were confusing to me cause I was reading the directions and clicked on the blue where the directions are instead of the blue that had just popped up to download. The directions do not fit on the page without moving the cursor and I just got lost doing it. Don't know why I didn't understand and did this I think 3 times and then it just blocked me. I had tried too many times. But I know how to do it and others the next time I have to download anything. I really appreciate you and others that are out there to help. I will checking that out. I don't know much so I doubt I could help anyone else but you never know. I might make someone's day and mine too if I could help someone. That would be awesome. Again Thanks.

while downloading my free upgrade to Mountain Lion, my computer said "Error 403" occured and could not download the file. It gave me the option to retry and i pressed that button but the window continued to pop up telling me about the error so i pressed cancel and the entire download closed. I went back to try an redownload the fiel form itunes but it will not let me.
Do you mean App Store? I had the same error as you, but after a restart, it was there in my App Store under Purchases and I just downloaded it again.

App store will not let me upgrade to Mountain Lion?!
I can't download the upgrade to Mountian Lion because it days I need 2GB of free space. I'm showing 216 GB of free space. Can anyone tell me what's going on?
It's probably saying you need 2gb of memory (RAM). I suspect you have less. Even with 2gb of RAM Mountain Lion will run like a dog - 4gb or more would be much better.

Seriously, you're right to be cautious. When you change the permissions on a SYSTEM file it can cause all sorts of grief. However, we're not talking about systems files, but about your own data. So there is no danger there. BatchMod carries that warning as a standard issue.
If you have any doubts the best I can suggest is that you do a search using 'BatchMod' (the search is on top right) and see how it's gone for others.

Tried to upgrade both devices but a message comes back saying backup corrupt etc, any ideas please?

Bought 3.0 but it will not let me upgrade to 3.1

If you'd searched for the error message in this forum, you'd likely have gotten your answer much faster. But what many of us have found to work in this situation is to delete /Library/Preferences/com.apple.AECT.plist and try again.

Have you tried a hard reset of the iPod? To do this, press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear. This may or may not work the first time around, so be sure to try this troubleshooting procedure at least 3 times.
And if nothing else, let the iPod's battery fully drain and then connect it to a power source to charge back up.

Wiki will not start up properly, causing python to go nuts trying to restart it every 9 seconds.
Im pretty sure it has something to do with the wiki trying to start up, it only happens when the web service is running. python seems to be running something and the cpu spikes about ever 8 seconds. It spits up tons of errors in the system.log all the same. I don't know how to fix it, I don't even use the wiki, is there a way to keep it from trying to start? Any fix would be good. Thanks

I have a fully functioning imac running snow leopard fine (recently upgraded to it) because of flash and java issues on browsers seemed I needed to get on to Lion or Mountain Lion so I upgraded the RAM to 2.5GB and now it will not let me upgrade maybe because my model seems to be a late 2006 and not a 2007 imac, cannot understand why it will not let me do this or provide a solution for me to upgrade what I need? Can anybody help, assist or advise?Also it says this:
