Shockwave Helper

I'm currently running Shockwave 10 and have noticed a
"Shockwave Helper" icon in my system tray lately. Exactly what is
the Shockwave Helper that resides in my Shockwave 10 folder under
Windows\System32\Macromed folder? I haven't had this with any
previous versions.

Open the Run dialog by pressing the key combination Windows + R and type 'msconfig' (without quotes) into the Open field and hit the OK button. Activate the Startup tab and look for anything that might be related. Uncheck any likely candidates and restart.

shockwave player on my computer seems to kick me out of AOL

Shockwave or Shockwave Flash? I suspect the latter, in which case you should post your question on a forum for the Flash Player (and include OS and browser details)

Adobe Shockwave - HELP

I have installed Adobe Shockwave and I cannot see the Shockwave icon. its shows that its been installed. I did not click Save and Run. I clicked on Run, does this mean that its 100% installed. I did the same process with Adobe Reader.

Major issues getting Shockwave to install

I've already been to the shockwave help page and I have done everything it said to do but no luck. I am running windows 7 ultimate and IE 10. I go to the web installer page and click the install button...It goes to the next page, but instead of installing, in the area that should show the download and install progress all I get is a black X in the upper left hand corner and it sits there. I've tried to download a standalone installer (both slim and full), but those links just takes me back to the web installer page. This is quickly becoming quite irratating. Help!!

Flash Player Check Not Working In Firefox?

Hello,
As of today, checking my Flash Player version on the Flash Player Help page gives me this: http://i.imgur.com/fTRMR4l.png, when it would usually tell me if my version was up to date, and what version I have.
The Shockwave Help page works just fine, and the Flash Player Help page works fine in Chrome.
I have tried resetting Firefox, updating Firefox, and using Firefox in Safe Mode, with no fix. So what's going on?

Took a look at my about:addons page to see if it was set on "Ask to Activate", and it wasn't set to that. It was set on "Always Activate", as you can see here: http://i.imgur.com/tAmvj36.png
Am I looking on the correct page, or is there another page I should be looking at?

Shockwave Plug-in unresponsive or just crashes? Help (I have tried almost everything that I know of)

Hi, I am sure you have heard this a million times but I'm going to ask because I have run out of options and have never asked it here. I like to play Facebook games on my computer which is a 32 bit windows 7 version operating system. Anyway it crashes on me constantly! It can be up to 5 times within a half hour! Well actually it goes Unresposive on me around 5 times and crashes around twice an hour or half hour time.Then I just quit because i am so fed up!. Sometimes I wait it out.That is if it say's that the plug-in isn't responsive. It will then usually snap out of it but when it doesn't it decides to crash all together.Then it works just to turn around and do it again. Then I have to go back to the main Face book page and start the game all over again. This has been going on for as long as I can remember. Gradually getting worse as I try to fix it. Not sure what changed to make it happen in the first place because I am the only one using my computer for the most part and I do not change or download anything. Occassionally, my son might use it but he is pretty computer savy. I am not that good with computers, I mean like a computer nerd or something, but I definitely know my way around one for the most part. I have been looking this problem up forever on the Internet and have tried most everything that I have read and it has only made my problems worse. Right now I am trying to uninstall it so I can then reinstall it but the Uninstall program from Adobe won't go any further than the part where they tell you that you have something else running in the background and they can't go forward until it is closed. Problem is, everything is closed that I can tell. They say my Internet Explorer is running but it's not. Not that I can tell any way. Like I said in less there is some secret that I don't know about I would know from my desktop, downloads, or task manager among other ways if it were running. I remember trying this before as well months ago and it said the same thing. I have already tried the double file thing under Chrome// Plugins and disabled my second copy that is once I had one. At first I didn't but I keep a close eye on it because of my son so as soon as there were two copies running I disabled one.It didn't make any difference.So that isn't the problem and never has been.So please no need to bring that one up. I of course tried other things, suggestions from other websites but can't remember them now except that one of the suggestions I followed literally wiped out my entire Chrome Favorites Bookmark List. Argggg!! Years and years of websites were gone just like that. When I set my computer back to before I did that it still didn't give them back to me. O.K. so maybe I don't know what the hell I am doing or maybe they didn't. I don't know. I was trying anything. I was desperate and they sounded like they knew what they are talking about. But it still irritates me even though it was over 6 months ago or more.. I tried then everything to get my bookmarks back in Chrome and I couldn't. Any help out there about fixing the Shockwave crashes and Shockwave Unresponsive warnings? Please!Thanks, Ellen

Ok you got to post more information then that of the crash can you post more information about it like the frequency it happens, the code that pops up the id so go into the reliability history and post the info about the last crash

Shockwave Player Not Working... PLEASE HELP!

Every single time I try to go into something like a game or
something else that requires the use of shockwave player, a screen
pops up that says somehting like 'you must restart your computer in
order for shockwave installation to be complete.' The thing is, I
have already downloaded and restarted the player. So each time I
get this message, I restart my computer and when I go back to where
I wanted to go, the same message keeps coming up over and over
again, no matter how many times I restart. What is going on here,
and how can I fix it?

Apple dropped playback support for .swf formats in QuickTime almost ten years ago.
Adobe Flash Player is the only way to view them.

I use shockwave flash in a platform for my work and every day it seizes up. I have to reboot the p.c. and reload the platform. Help !!!

I utilize a trading platform for my work on a daily basis. They use shockwave flash in this platform. Every day it slows and then seizes up everything. I have to reboot my p.c. manually and then reload the platform. I have had my p.c. checked, talked to the IT people for the platform and everything comes back to flash. I've even uninstalled and re installed the program. It is a very annoying and causes major problems.

Help with Shockwave player reinstall

I recently updated my system (PC, Windows 7, updated to IE 11), and the shockwave player needed to be updated. Tried to do that, but won't work. My system is 64 bit, but the IE 11 running is 32 bit version. Tried numerous ways to update, then I removed and tried to install new, but it still won't work. Help!
BTW, it also messed with my Adobe Reader within some programs, and I had to install a new one, which seemed to work okay.
I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro installed on this laptop.

Here are the screen shots. Though it said installation was successful, and the program is listed in my programs in the control panel, something seems to be preventing it from working. I have used shockwave player many times before, and my computer has had no problem with updates for shockwave player in the past. It was only after I updated other programs on this computer that it wouldn't work.

I need help making Shockwave Flash 15.0 r0 work again.

It was working fine earlier today, on Google Chrome. But for some reason it stopped and now I get a something asking if i want to stop the plugin because it is not responding. I have tried to make it work on my own following some of the things i found only, and on here Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows and Flash Player Help yet nothing. I really need this fixed ASAP.

i use windows xp- sp2 64bit and while installing shockwave
10, i get the following error message...
the error says:
"Could not load DLL library
C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Shockwave10\gi.dll. This
application has fail to start because the application
configuration is incorrect.
Reinstalling the application may fiz this problem."
PLEASE HELP, I TRIED ALL IN VAIN

Shockwave Player 11 - Problem HELP PLEASE!!

I have upgraded to Shockwave Player 11 but I am having big
problems. I have installed it but when going on a Shockwave
supported sites ie; iSketch, it comes up in a white-box with a
message ''Adobe Shockwave Player is now installing.'' ''Installing
compatibility components.'' with a white bar below which is
supposed to fill up but doesnt. Screenshot on Link below. I have
been trying it both on IE7 & Firefox, tried both semi and full
installer but no luck. Please help?

Can you help with facebook Shockwave Flash player failure?

Over the past 4-6 weeks I have had an increasing issue with the failure of Shockwave Flash player while playing games on facebook. I have tried all kinds of things to fix the issue, and finally am bringing it to you. It is happening to gamers the world over especially in the Farm Town game by Slashkey..but not exclusive to Farm Town. I have had it fail with Candy Crush Saga and even Scabble. Tonight I have uninstalled Google Chrome and reinstalled it..as well as Adobe flashplyer..and am about to also reinstall Shockwave..to say I am frustrated with it is putting it very mild.
Please help me fix this problem..and I then can post the fix for other gamers..

After going back last night and using the Adobe directions to uninstall flash paler from mac, I found it had previously been uninstalled improperly and each time I was trying to do over it was eating more memory and stalling more often.. but I filled the direction..and.. go to Adobe.com. then type in the search window uninstall flash player from mac... others would do the same to uninstall from windows or whatever operating system they might use. After being careful to use Adobe's method of uninstall, I then proceeded to make sure my both Chrome and Safari Cache's and histories were cleared and clean...I was instructed to then go back and reinstall Flash player..but not Shockwave, contrary to what I had previously been instructed. Next I did a shutdown and a clean restart.
Final step was to re-install Flash Player..but not Shockwave as I had previously been instructed..and to update my OS X to it's newest update.. It has run like a dream since.
