I play a game and its not working anymore becouse Shockwave Pepper Flash Plug IN has to be removed. How can i do that?

1. Open Chrome and type "chrome://plugins" in your address bar.
2. Click on the + sign that is at the top right corner of the page to expand the details.
3. Locate "Flash" section and click on "Disable" for the one that has Type as PPAPI and the Location ends with pepflashplayer.dll.

My macbook pro says Shockwave Flash plug-in has crashed pretty much every day.  I have to shut the computer down and restart to fix it.  Is there any way I can keep this from happening?

Download the latest version from here ONLY:

also, make certain your Mac OS X software is completely up-to-date. There is a Trojan Horse that pretended to be a Flash update, and installed Flash with malware included. The latest security updates removes the malware and all older versions.

  • Firefox crashes on some web sites because of Shockwave Flash plug-in

I have the latest Firefox running on updated Windows Vista SP2. Each time I go to my Google+ site, FF opens it and then crashes. I have located the problem for this crash to the Adobe Flash plug-in. When I disable the Shockwave Flash plug-in, crashes would stop. The Shockwave plug-in is updated to the latest version, and I even re-installed it, which didn't help. I have similar crashes on some other sites during searches. It becomes rather frequent and irritating. Please suggest some options how to deal with that.

Thanks for reply. I do have the updated version of Trusteer Rapport. It is really interesting - I disable Shockwave Flash, and the crashes would stop. Then I would enable the Shockwave and stop the Rapport, the crashes would also stop. However, when they both are active - Firefox crashes all the time on Google+ web site. I do not have the same problem with Google Chrome and IE-9, only Firefox. I will try to ask Trusteer forums, but doubt that they would be able to offer something. It looks like Firefox specifically does not like something.

  • According to Firefox 6 my Shockwave Flash plug in needs updating but it won't let me load the adobe site properly

Addon Manager tells me that the Shockwave Flash plug in needs to be updated but the Adobe web page does not load and just hangs.
It also tells me that the Quicktime plug in is out of date but altho' it will connect to the Quicktime web page it does not complete the loading process.
I have also had problems accessing my Youtube channel adn have had to use a fix I found somewhere in support.mozilla that suggested using https instead of http. This works but why on earth have I had to do this? What has gone wrong with FF6?

Here I am replying to my own question. For the 8 people who apparently also have these problems I have solved the Adobe Flashplayer one. Or at least I am assuming that there was a causal connection between what I did and the result but, then again, who knows?
If you have IE on your system, make sure that the Flash Active X extension is installed and up to date. Then go through the rigmarole with Firefox and updating the Shockwave Flash. It should work.
    Still no idea about Quicktime.

  • Shockwave Flash plug-in missing

I'm having a problem with both Safari & Firefox that says I'm missing my shockwave flash plug-in. I have reinstalled the plug-ins from Adobe, but still...no luck. Any suggestions?

I only wish I was destined for an upgrade. Until Adobe can get their software up-to-par with the new Intel processor (which I hear is coming soon), I'd prefer to function faster on my G4 than to use a 3rd party software to resolve uncompatible software issues. Anyway...that's not the problem I'm dealing with right now .
I have uninstalled, repaired permissions, installed, restarted, etc., etc. and I still am having plug-in issues. I've even gone to downloading Camino and Opera browsers to see if it was a browser issue, but each time it tells me the plug-in is missing, so it is definitely a plug-in issue. You've been very helpful with possible solutions. Anything else up your sleeve?

It is best to go to the source, Adobe, to get their software and updates. Sometimes malware can infect sites with messages that appear legitimate, but will, instead, install malware/virus/trojan on your system. Read the following carefully to install and/or update Adobe Flash.
There are 2 versions of Adobe Flash; an '''ActiveX version''' for IE only and a '''Plugin version''' for most other browsers including Firefox. On a Windows system, you should always update both individually. '''''You do not have Adobe Flash (aka "Shockwave Flash" in Add-ons > Plugins) installed.'''''
#'''Using Firefox''', go to the following direct download link and SAVE the download to your desktop so you can find it later: http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe
#When the download is finished, close Firefox (File > Exit '''''OR''''' Firefox button > Exit)
#Click or double-click on the file you just saved to your desktop
#*In the installation window that appears, click the box to the left of "I have read and...." to place a check mark in the box
#*The "Install" button in the lower right corner will now be highlighted, click it.
    #*The installation is quick.

  • Persistent crashing of Flash plug-in in different browsers

    _________Problem Specification:___________
    Whenever I click:
'Attach' on Yahoo Mail, or 'Bestand toevoegen als bijlage' on Gmail (this is the Dutch version of the attach funtion for Gmail), or 'Add more photos' on Facebook (or similar functions of FB where you can upload photo's), or the normal upload screen for Youtube and a couple of other websites that have functions to upload files I get notified of this:
'De Adobe Flash-plug-in is gecrasht Meer info...' and two buttons on the right side: 'Pagina vernieuwen' and 'Een crashrapport verzenden'.
This of course reads: 'The Adobe Flash plug-in has crashed. More info...' and the buttons say: 'Refresh page' and 'Send crash report'
This particular error message occurs in Firefox (version info below) and 'More info...' takes me to a very generic Mozilla troubleshooting site, which suggests to update Firefox, the Flash Plug-in, Graphical card drivers (if I'm not mistaken) and a few other things.
In Internet Explorer I get an error at exactly the same time as I get it in Firefox, only IE quickly reloads the current tab and then gives you a little notification about that, it seems to persistently occur at exactly the same points as when they do in FF though (when I click 'Attach' etc.)
    _________What I tried to do:______________
    I Tried:
    - Reinstalling Firefox
    - Reinstalling Flash (by removing it in add/remove programs in Windows and then reinstalling it by downloading it again and then installing it)
    - I disabled hardware acceleration (Flash seems to function fine when playing Youtube and similar videos, above mentioned problem persists)
    - In about:config in FF I changed the options around for IPC (as mentioned here: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Plugin-container_and_out-of-process_plugins )
    - I made sure that all applications running (such as firefox.exe and plugin-container.exe) that are associated with what I'm trying to accomplish are marked as safe in my security software (Comodo)
    _________Technical Information:___________
Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP [versie 5.1.2600] (that is the Dutch language version of XP + SP3, alternately it is described as: Microsoft Windows XP Professional Versie 2002 Service Pack 3, we're talking the 32 bits version of windows.
Web browsers tried: Firefox 3.6.12 (Dutch version)and Windows Internet Explorer Version 8.0.6001.18702
Flash player version: Shockwave Flash 10.1.102.64 Shockwave Flash 10.1.r102
I run this on a laptop with a 64 bit AMD Turion processor and a built-in ATI Radeon Mobility graphics card.
    So what's next?

First of all, let me thank you for your suggestions so far.
I tried the safe mode and I looked into the graphical card drivers
In Internet Explorer Attaching with Gmail with Safe Mode now brings up the file dialog that I'd need to attach files. So this seems to be a viable workaround, although it's also possible to change Gmail to the simple HTML version where the dialog would come up anyway in both browsers, this is because the dialog in the simple HTML version is a standard Windows dialog and it's not Flash based.
In Firefox there's no such luck, the same message about the Flash Plug-in crashing appears under the same conditions.
Btw I double checked the HP support site (the manufacturer of my website, to which I was referred by AMD) and I do have the latest graphical card drivers installed, as a matter of fact I've been having this Flash player problem a while now, even from before I updated the drivers the last time, which was approximately a week or two ago.

  • Shockwave Adobe Flash 10.2.152.32 only plays in one 'user account'

Shockwave Adobe Flash 10.2.152.32 won't play anything imbedded using *my* User Account in WinXP SP3(for ex.: items on HuffPost/none of Hulu/no  streaming radio stations' broadcasts listening functions, eg, 'radioplayer' and 'mediaplayer' in these sites'  windows' addies/ no Vimeo (for ex.: someone streaming a view of a backyard bird's nest). YouTube is not a problem at all.
    Firefox 3.6.14 ; 32-bit  OS
Flash stopped working on my "user account" in XP when i updated Flash two days ago March 8 2011 AND then updated to IE 8 (from 6)(which we don't use) and also to SP3 for WinXP (from SP2)(not Pro). All the Microsoft updating took about an hour, maybe longer.
Turning off Hardware Acceleration had no effect.
Uninstalled and re-installed the Adobe Flash Player from Adobe's site.
Adobe plays any and all on the DH's user account, but nothing plays on my "side".
I have administrator status and all that.
Checked many FFsettings for allowing javascript, popups, internet zone medium security, etc.
NoScript to allow all or just the strictly needed, in attempts to diagnose this prob, when on a webpage.
Shockwave Flash in Add-Ons is "enabled" bec I noticed yesterday that it was somehow disabled.
Shut down and restarted three times while allowing it plenty of time to do so properly.
MS Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin 1.0.0.8 in my add-ons, also.
"HTML5 Extension for Windows Media Player Plug-in 1.0" in my Add-ons.
    AVG Antivirus Free Edition 2011.
Using Sandboxie; however, I use Firefox without the sandbox and do restarts (and i'm careful to save stuff from the sandbox when closing etc)  when adding.
Turned off the Windows firewall at one point while trying to get video/streaming to play after all my updating resulted in this problem.
Curious as to why the plug-in says "Shockwave Flash 10.2.152.32 with that little 10.2r152 underneath" but the version # i installed refers to *Flash Player* not Shock...blah,blah 10.2.152.32 when I obtained it-- is this just terminology quirks or different things?
Thank you for your time; I read many posts to see if any were like my prob, couldn't find one.

    1. NoScript is "NoScript allows JavaScript,Java(and other plugins) only for trusted domains of your choice(e.g., your home-banking web site).
This whitelist based pre-emptive blocking approach prevents exploitation of security vulnerabilities(known and unknown) with no loss of functionality..."
This is an extension, an add-on, for Firefox browser. It is not a plugin. I like it bec I can choose to avoid a type of exploitive code/malware that can ride along
with the potentially large number of scripts that run on web sites (many sites have no scripts attached) and bec it keeps my computer from trying to deal with all those scripts.
    2. The "AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 2011" is stand-alone, not a browser extension. I have a Firefox browser extension that is AVG -- called AVG Safe Search 10.0.0.1178.  The other extensions are ColorfulTabs Plus 4080.04; Abine 0.705; Add-on Compatibility Reporter 0.4.2; Interclue 1.6.1.3; four Java things that appeared on their own(Console 6.0.21,22,& 24, and Java Quick Starter 1.0), as did Microsoft .NET Frameowork Assistant 0.0.0; NoScript2.0.5.1; Organize Status Bar 0.6.4;ReminderFox 1.9.9.2 (calender/reminder); StumbleUpon Toolbar 3.63 (it remains hidden  underneath my navigation bar unless I want to use it, which isn't often). All are "enabled" and updated.
    3. Java versions:  Java 2 Runtime Environment,SE v1.4.2_03; Java 6 updates 2, 24, 3, & 7; Java SE Runtime Environment 6 Update 1.
      Thank you!
p.s. As a last-second re-try of a request made of most people here with FP probs, i just un-checked the Hardware Acceleration box at the Adobe Testsite ("F"
animation graphic) and even though that was *ineffective*  the first time I tried it, it resulted in a seeming solution.  ??  Also, at the site, unlike the last time, the
Pipeline advert appeared when the "F" stopped it's little turn...  I don't know why this was different this time, I just hope this solution "sticks and stays". The first thing I tried was Hulu, and the audio was behind the video, so I stopped that one and went to good 'ol 30 Rock and everything matched up okay. Also, radio stations and the Vimeo hummingbird nest stream (yay!) working. Is the un-checking of Hardware Accel'xn going to cause a problem later, I wonder?
Again, thank you guys and esp the patient "eidnolb"  tons for all the attention and help, and I hope everyone gets their Adobe products all dialed-in quickly and easily. If the hardware-acceleration solution "fails", I'll try here again. I love my computer and the inter-tubes!  Knitterer

pixelation problems occurs in my videos when using adobe flash but using chromes pepper flash no problemes so its definitely adobe problems on my WIndows 8.1

    Problem is:
Flash Player for IE11 (which is the worst browser ever developed - BAR NONE) is a Microsoft product, when it comes right down to it.
Adobe writes the base code and yes, they do collaborate on updates for it, but the gang in Redmond alter the plug-in and add "proprietary" code before embedding it, and at that point it's "their baby".
There are two (2) registry keys - 1 for 32 bit IE and the other for 64 bit IE, as well as a KB patch that prevent all but the most experienced Windows users from ever touching the Flash Player plug-in for IE. So there's NO WAY you could have done a clean install of the ActiveX plug-in in Windows 8. Unless you're an uber-geek, you can only update it through Windows Update.
WIn 8 is an abomination and IE11 made it worse. IE has always been the "problem child" of browsers, failing to handle CSS, Javascript, some PHP and most design "tweaks" that good webmasters can use with other browsers, trouble free.
I have IE8 on XP, 9 on VIsta, 11 on 7, 10 on 8 and 11 on 8.1... but they're all for testing only. I'd have to be out of my mind to ever think of using IE as my primary browser. ActiveX controls have to be disabled formost stuff and that opens millions of security holes in IE.
You've got a good video card and a decent sound card. It's a shame to waste them on a pile of garbage like IE, just because it came with Windows.

  • I installed Adobe Flash Player, but YouTube is still telling me that I need Flash plug-in?

I have Safari 7.0, and when I go to youtube, it says that I need the latest flash plug-in, and I keep downloading it but it's still saying the same thing. Flash plug-ins are already enabled in Safari preferences, so I'm not sure what the issue is.

Yes, done all that but there is no adobe flash player listed in the add ons >plug ins site. However in the program listings on the start section adobe flash player is displayed.
I have tried down loading it again and although I have done this from downloads and it displays as done it does not reappear in plug ins.

  • Flash Plug-in Crashes across all browsers despite re-install

About a week ago, my MacBook's Firefox browser started crashing whenever I checked my hotmail or Youtube, failing to load the flash content in either a  banner add or the Youtube video, I uninstalled flash, and the problem went away, only now I am unable to visit youtube or access any flash content on the internet. The problem extends across browsers to Safari and despite reinstalling, trying to revert to an old flash player, even downloading the full trial version of Flash from this website on the suggestion of a tech support person from this site, I have been unsuccessful.  The browser crashes whenever it comes across any flash content.
    Can you help me?

    I left it at 10.0.12.36

Subject: Flash Player Flash Plug-in Crashes across all browsers despite
    re-install
I support a bunch of Mac users and one of them (10.5.7 MBP) ran into this same
problem last week with both Safari and Firefox crashing with the flash player
plugin. If I removed the Flash Player plugin and the .xpt file there was no
crashing but no flash either. I used a combination of different suggestions and
here's what finally worked (so far anyway):
Show package contents for Firefox/Contents/MacOS/components and Get Info
changing perms for read/write for everyone.
Re-installed shockwave plugin using the customized full install (this made no
sense to me since I had made no change to shockwave but as I was testing the
browsers I was prompted to install it, so I did)
    Repaired permissions
The version of the Flash Player plugin that ended up installed on this Mac is
10.0.12.36. I started off installing the newer and recommended 10.0.22.87
version but it didn't fix anything. I inadvertently went backwards as I moved
plugins in and out of the Library. I didn't want to change anything once it was
working so I left it at the older version. I hope this helps someone else.
