Shockwave Player 12.0 and Jigsaw Puzzles

AS verified by Adobe and installed in my programs Dec. 12, 2013, which is the latest version. I upgraded from SW 10 due to security issues that were brought to my attention by US-Cert. Not going into detail about that notification; here's what my problem is. When I go to a site that has jigsaw puzzles and click on the site, I get a prompt to download SW 10 which as stated is an older version. Why aren't these sites made aware that there is a newer and safer version of Adobe Shockwave so we don't have the inconvenience of being shut out? I have no other problems with sites such as crosswords, sudoku, etc...And I won't open SW10 just for one game only then uninstall because as mentioned there have been security issues on that site.

Adobe Shockwave Player 12.1 and forced reboot

Hello I work for a company with 8k computers and we use IEM (IBM Endpoint Manager) distribution tool. We started Adobe product patching in January and we encountered unexpected forced reboot on some Windows 8 computers. IEM creates installation scripts automatically and I have noticed that there are two installation files: sw_lic_full_installer.exe and sw_lic_slim_installer.exe. I have performed some test with both packages and on one PC where I tried sw_lic_slim_installer.exe the FORCED REBOOT occurred. I have checked event viewer logs and found the following lines:
Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: swMSM. Product Version 12.0.0.1. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Adobe Systems, Inc. installation success or error status:0
Windows Installer requires a system restart. Product Name: swMSM. Product Version 12.0.0.1. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Adobe Systems, Inc. installation success or error status:0
Ending a Windows Installer transaction: C:\windows\SysWOW64\Adobe\Schockwave 12\swMSM.msi. Client Process Id: 220.
The Windows Installer initiated a system restart to complete system restart to complete or continue the configuration of "swMSM".
Could you please explain me when Adobe Shockwave Player updates force a reboot? Unfortunately all updates are packed in exe files so I don't know any way how to suppress the reboot.
Additionally after the installation of the patch we see 2 entries in the control panel:
Adobe Shockwave Player 12.0
Adobe Shockwave Player 12.1
Can you tell me how to get rid of the Adobe Shockwave Player 12.0 entry? Thanks in advance!

I had the same problem on an iMac but managed to download and install shockwave 11, see Adobe - Webplayer
There appeared a notice for incompatibility, but was able to continue installation. Apps (not requiring sw 12) did run after.

Why does the shockwave player keep crashing when I play farmville 2 on both the facebook and zynga websites?

I play farmville 2 on both the zynga and facebook websites. My shockwave player keeps crashing and is a very slow to load the game. This happens on all of the browsers I have used. Google chrome works better than some, firefox, icedragon and IE all are very slow to load the game and this take a lot of enjoyment out of the actual game play. Please help figure this out. I even keep clearing the cache and history, this does not help out much either.

Cannot download Shockwave Player

I am using Windows 8.1 and Shockwave player quit working on the Puzzle web site. Deleted installed Player and tried to Download player again. I get a pop-up from computer telling me DLL is wrong location as the DLL being used is reserved for Windows based systems. Any Help?

Shockwave Player two versions installed.

I am using Adobe Shockwave Player 11.6 on Windows XP Pro and I.E.8. Windows Add/Remove Programs lists as installed programs both Shockwave Player 11.6 and Shockwave player 11.5. Can I safely uninstall version 11.5 without afftecting 11.6 or Adobe Flash?
I'd appreciate your opinion.

I had to Uninstall both 11.5 and 11.6 versions of Adobe Shockwave Player than reinstall version 11.6. All is fine now.

Shockwave Player malfunction

Shockwave Player is installed and up to date, in fact, I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times to try and resolve the issue. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium, Firefox and/or IE I've tried both and it works with neither one. I cannot open any game, including the solitaire games that came loaded in 'Windows. To read Google news is a challenge, each time I try to open an article, hence page, I get the error message: "Shockwave player may be busy or may have stopped working", when I click 'stop' I can then for a few seconds scroll to read the article then the error message returns so I have to continually repeat the procedure. How do I fix this problem to alleviate frustration levels?

Are you CERTAIN the error message says
"Shockwave player may be busy or may have stopped working"
and not "Shockwave Flash may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the plug now, or you can continue to see if the plugin will complete." If the latter then you should search before asking your question on a forum for the Flash Player

our xp was restored. everything is running fine but when i go
to slingo that is set up only to play their games with shockwave
player i installed and it says network error. please check your
internet connection and try again. i am connected to the internet i

I'm having a similar problem. I've downloaded the current
version of Shockwave 3 times but I still can't get it to work. I've
rebooted and shut it off once. This is a 2 month old HP laptop. I
can't say that Shockplayer ever worked. I've already had to restore
the hard drive twice because of errors and other problems. I hope
that I don't have to restore again because I have some large
programs which take a lot of time.

SHOCKWAVE PLAYER CRASH ON ALL THREE!!!!!1

every single time i go onto something that includes shockwave player (youtube excluded) the screen freezes and i need to x out of either firefox, safari, or google chrome y is this happening??? i reinstalled the shockwave player several times and now im getting irritated. help?

Shockwave Player Won't Fully Install

I have a Compaq Presario PC with Windows Vista as my
operating system. I had successfully downloaded Shockwave Player
(SWP) previously and it worked for two days then froze up. I did a
SWP Uninstaller and reinstalled it successfully using SWP Full
Installer. It worked for two days and froze up again. I uninstalled
it yet again. Then I used the Full Installer and now it doesn't all
the way. I am using it for Rosetta Stone Language Training and
cannot use any other player. Help!

I have a Gateway, 64-bit, with Vista Ultimate and am having
the same problem. And, I uninstalled it, reinstalled it;
uninstalled version 11 and reinstalled v 10. Nothing works. This is
real bad as I can't do my work on some of the websites that I have
to use. Says the add-on isn't loaded...but it is. So, I am really
stumped. I sure hope Adobe and Microsoft can fix this real soon.
Also, it works on Firefox, this is totally some kind of Microsoft
thing, I wonder if it is their new IE Pro 7 browser. Do you have

Shockwave Player download not in synch with displayed version

Hi,
When I go here Adobe - Adobe Shockwave Player (via Firefox) and I select Windows OS I then get the choice between the full or slim files.
The problem is that today (but this has happened before many times) I can read for instance "Shockwave 12.1.6.156 Windows Full Other Browsers" while what I get after the download is version 12.1.5.155 instead of version 12.1.6.156.
I am fully aware that there other ways to get the latest Shockwave player, but I'd like this specific one to work correctly.
Is there a way to report this to the proper Adobe guys?

The file name is always the same: Shockwave_Installer_Full.exe
The version number was given in my initial text: 12.1.5.155.
The digital signature of Shockwave_Installer_Full.exe 12.1.5.155 was somewhere at the end of 2014 (I don't have that file anymore).
Many times (if not every time) as soon as they update the drop-down menu item to "Shockwave x Windows Full Other Browsers" (where x is the brand new version) what you get after the download is complete, is the previous version of Shockwave_Installer_Full.exe and not the version x that was indicated in the drop-down menu item (what I detailed above with version numbers 12.1.6.156 and 12.1.5.155).
This situation lasts for some days; roughly I would say up to a week from when they update the drop-down menu item.
Only after that time what you get after the download is actually the proper version x.
This is not professional from Adobe.
End of story.

Firefox Plugins lists Shockwave Flash 12.0.0.70 but Adobe lists this as Adobe Flash Player, and Version 12.0.9.149 as Adobe Shockwave Player, so wtf is going on

Flash causes us all immense confusion, and Firefox is adding to the problem.
My Firefox Add-ons page lists (under Plugins -- isn't there a difference?) that I have:
Shockwave Flash 12.0.0.70 which is set to "Always Activate".
Adobe websites list:
Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.70
Adobe Shockwave Player 12.0.9.149
-- so what on earth is the Firefox-listed "Shockwave Flash"?
This simply adds to the utter confusion already surrounding Flash Player -- which I cannot find anywhere amongst my Programs -- but which I can find under "Uninstall or change a Program" where it is listed as "Adobe Flash Player 12 Plugin".
There is also the thorny issue of FlashPlayer vs. FlashPlayerDownloader......
I need a flash of inspiration to get me out of shock -- I'm not waving, I'm drowning!

In the internals of the plugin it is still referenced as Shockwave Flash. That hasn't changed as it would break websites that check for a specific plugin name. You can see that on the about:plugins page and in the properties of the Flash plugins file.
You can open the Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer) and paste this JavaScript code in the command line to see how the Adobe Flash Player plugin identifies itself:

Shockwave Player and Safari

I was on a web site and received the message that to view certain content I would need to install Shockwave Player. I went to the Adobe site downloaded and installed the mac version. Everything seemed to install properly. When I went back to the site that I needed the player for I got a pop up message saying I needed to launch Safari in 32 bit mode. The problem is that when I click ok on this message Safari freezes, I can't relaunch it or close the window. So I force quit Safari from the Apple menu. If I then go to the finder and set Safari to open in 32 bit it will launch and display the content on that site properly. However I don't really want to keep Safari in 32 but if I don't, any site I go to that requires the player will now freeze Safari requiring me to force quit again.
So I ran the Shockwave uninstaller after which I can go to those sites but of course can't view the content but at least Safari doesn't freeze up. However I realized that at least that one site had worked in Firefox prior to my installing and uninstalling the player. Of course now even Firefox won't display that content since I've uninstalled it telling me I need a plugin but when I click that it tells me an applicable plugin cannot be found and that I will need to manually install one. Of course that would take me back to where I was with Safari freezing up on those sites unless it's already in 32 bit mode. I'm using Safari 5.0.1 on OS 10.6.4 Is there a way to rectify this short of always running Safari in 32 bit?

I'm not sure it's worth installing it again. If it were just a matter of launching Safari in 32 bit mode I might do it if it were something I really wanted to see but since Safari always freezes after that pop up message requiring me to force quit, it seems like too much of a hassle to me.

Can I download and save the shockwave player application for later installation on more than one PC

I would like to find a "setup.exe" file for the shockwave player and flash player (to begin with) so I can be sure fellow cowworkers all have the same versions installed on their own PC. This would make it more efficient to share files, explainations etceteras.
I was given this assignment after I installed virtual drives with Windows, on a few Mac PCs, and now I've been asked for more ways to streamline file shareing. I am attempting to convince the foremen, detailers, Crew managers & others to use Windows 8, as it can be synced with everyone's phones, tablets, androids & PCs. This would just be a beginning, mainly for demostration. I hope I haven't taken on an impossible task. Thank you in advance for any help offered.

When I try to update the shockwave player it asks for authorisation tick box then it says close fifefox which closes the whole thing down and back to square one, any help please

shockwave keeps crashing all the time so I tried to up date the shockwave player from the add on section. The problem here is that you have to tick the I agree box which then tells you firefox is in conflick and you have to close it down which takes you back to square one.

save the installation file to your hard disk, then close FF and run the installation file.
