Flash player won't install in windows 7
This is what I get when trying to use "FLASH PLAYER HELP", as you can see, my flash player and OS are NOT listed and when asked on left side of screen if "THIS WAS HELPFUL", I clicked NO and could not complete my response.
HOW DO I FIX THIS??? THERE ARE SEVERAL ITEMS THAT REQUIRE FLASH PLAYER & I CANNOT GET IT TO WORK. AFTER DOWNLOADING (AT LEAST4 TIMES) IT SAYS EVERYTIME "INSTALLATION SUCCESSFUL"

Download the offline installer from http://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player- windows.html#main-pars_header and save it to disk, then close all browser windows and run the downloaded installer.
If you still have problems, please post the contents of the FlashInstall.log file in

  • No Pro because Player won't install

I've just bought QuickTime Pro. Unfortunately I hadn't installed the QuickTime player before purchasing. Now I find that the player won't install: it looks for the QuickTime.msi file so that it can uninstall a previous version of the player, but the only QuickTime.msi I can find seems to be created during the attempted installation and the installer rejects it. I can't find a previous version of QuickTime anywhere on the system. The Windows uninstaller also reports the presence of QuickTime, but can't uninstall it. I've tried installing version 4 (which I've got on a CD) but the same thing happens. Any suggestions? I hope someone can help me, not only because otherwise I've thrown away £20, but because I need to get an animation into .mov format in the next two days for a showreel I've been offered a place on.

Thanks, that put me on the right track - it turned out there were quite a few QuickTime files scattered around from an old installation. In the end I downloaded a freeware uninstallation tool (Revo, as recommended in another thread) and got rid of the lot. The player is now installed. Now for the upgrade.

  • Flash player won't install on safari 7.0.3 any hints?

flash player won't install on safari 7.0.3 .  I can download but the install stops at 50%.  I have allowed plug ins.
    any hints?

jabenn, I believe this to be caused by an issue with the Flash Player Install Manager, which Adobe is aware of.
As a first step, you could try removing it from the folder Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Flash Player. If you see a folder in that location entitled "Flash Player Install Manager", you need to trash it (you will need to enter and Admin password to authorise that step). This is recommended by Adobe. Now try again.
If that still fails, you can either follow the full Uninstall / Re-install process set out here: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1267823  ... or use my three-step workaround to save time, hassle and restarting. This starts at the scenario described in your initial post (i.e. a stalled installation):
Force quit Adobe Flash Player Install Manager
Locate and mount the Flash Player Installer disk image with Disk Utility
Locate the Adobe Flash Player installer package within the Install Manager app and run the installation from Finder
    Hope this helps. Enjoy.
    --- Those steps in detail:
    1. Force quit Adobe Flash Player Install Manager
Press these three keys together: Cmd + Option (or Alt) + esc
Select Adobe Flash Player Install Manager in the popup window titled "Force Quit Applications"
Hit return or click the button labelled "Force Quit"
    2. Locate and mount the Flash Player Installer disk image with Disk Utility
Open Disk Utility (in Applications/Utilities folder or find it with Spotlight)
On the left hand side, your attached drives and mounted volumes are listed above a horizontal line. Below that line you should see one or more disk images (named e.g. something.dmg). These are recently accessed disk images - including one containing the adobe updater.
At or near the bottom of that list you should see something called decryptedFile.dmg
Under that you might see a (greyed out) volume image called Flash Player
Double click decryptedFile.dmg (or the Flash Player volume if you can see it - it makes no difference).
This should mount a volume titled "Flash Player" and automatically open a finder window showing the contents.
The volume "Flash Player" will show up in your Finder sidebar and on your desktop (unless you've chosen not to show External Disks in Finder preferences)
    3. Locate the Adobe Flash Player installer package and run the installation from Finder
You should by now have a Finder window open showing the contents of the volume "Flash Player". If not, open a new Finder window and click on Flash Player in the sidebar. The sole contents are an app called Install Adobe Flash Player.
Right click the item "Install Adobe Flash Player" and select "Show Package Contents" from the contextual menu that appears.
This opens a new window showing a folder called "Contents". Open it by double clicking to reveal the contents including a folder called "Resources".
Locate and open the folder "Resources" and look for a file called Adobe Flash Player ("Adobe Flash Player.pkg")
This is the Installer Package for the update. Double Click it.
Don't be put off by the words "Welcome to the Adobe Flash Player Installer" - this is not the Adobe Flash Install Manager (the one that failed you earlier) this is Apple's "Installer" app.
Follow the steps to the end then eject the volume Flash Player in the normal way (e.g. Finder sidebar)
Open the Flash Player control panel to check the current version has now been updated.
Don't be put off by "PPAPI Plug-in is not installed" - you can ignore it.
Some steps may go differently if you are running a different version of Mac OS X ( I use 10.6.8 and wrote my guide accordingly).

  • My Flash Player won't install???

HELP!!! my flash player won't install! i downloaded it on my mac and opened the file and it was downloading until it says "please choose the following programs to continue" and then i cannot click safari, wich is my default browser, because there is a red sign indicating i cannot click it!
every time i click retry the same thing happens! why is this! HELP

The above link is for the ActiveX installer (Internet Explorer).
Use the appropriate download links in http://forums.adobe.com/thread/909550
If you are on a 64-bit system, use the 64-bit installer(s); you will then also be able to use Flash under the 64-bit version of Firefox: Waterfox.

  • Shockwave Player Won't Fully Install

I have a Compaq Presario PC with Windows Vista as my
operating system. I had successfully downloaded Shockwave Player
(SWP) previously and it worked for two days then froze up. I did a
SWP Uninstaller and reinstalled it successfully using SWP Full
Installer. It worked for two days and froze up again. I uninstalled
it yet again. Then I used the Full Installer and now it doesn't all
the way. I am using it for Rosetta Stone Language Training and
cannot use any other player. Help!

I have a Gateway, 64-bit, with Vista Ultimate and am having
    the same problem. And, I uninstalled it, reinstalled it;
uninstalled version 11 and reinstalled v 10. Nothing works. This is
real bad as I can't do my work on some of the websites that I have
to use. Says the add-on isn't loaded...but it is. So, I am really
stumped. I sure hope Adobe and Microsoft can fix this real soon.
Also, it works on Firefox, this is totally some kind of Microsoft
thing, I wonder if it is their new IE Pro 7 browser. Do you have
    this too?

  • Flash Player won't install on IE 9 Win7 64-bit

I've tried almost everything that this forum suggested but Flash player just won't install. Here is my story. A a month or so ago, flash just stopped working on IE 9. I uninstalled but now I'm unable to even download it. When click on download now, This is what it displays and nothing ever happens. I reset my IE settings. Under tools, Safety, ActiveX Filtering is uncheck. Under Manage Add-ons I just don't see the Active x for flash add-on I'm assuming this is because flash is not installed. I even did the whole Subinacl and reset.bat file but still I'm unable to download flash. Currently Flash works fine on Firefox which is what I'm using right now. I don't have any Flash cookie cop or any other software installed that blocks flash. Am I missing something? I really do not want to reinstall windows. Is there an other way to fix this problem? I am using 32-bit IE and not 64.
    thank you.

    Chris,
This issue was solved finally. I figured it out eventually. Some how the registry was locked by something called FlashBroker.
As you can see the logs below. The way I fixed this was by using ComboFix. I just ran the file and it cleaned out the system and fixed all registry problems. I'm now able to see flash on IE. I'm sure someone will eventually run into this issue again so it'll be helpful for you and others to know how to fix it.
Thank you for all your help.

  • Shockwave Player won't work with my Firefox 2.0

I wonder if you can help me in the way of a "things to check"
list? I have downloaded and installed the Shockwave and Flash
players, however when I'm trying to play Shockwave Games it tells
me that there is no Shockwave Player plugin compatible with my
Browser. I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.2 on MS Windows XP Pro, and I'm
trying to play Couronne King at
    http://www.king.com.
Thanks in advance - if you need to know more please
    ask.

I blame Adobe; I blame Shockwave. In my view it's pro-IE,
pro-Microsoft. I Installed Firefox 2.0.0.1 and I have wrestled with
Shockwave to work Firefox as it does with IE. Waste of time and
    effort so far.

  • Adobe Flash Player won't install on my Windows 8 computer

All we get is a blank page when trying to install Flash Player. I've done all of the suggested actions on the Adobe site, but it still won't install.

    What browser do you use?
    See also http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-issues-windows-8.html

  • Shockwave player does not install

I have a number of Windows XP SP2 computers that are anywhere
from 1 month old to 8-10 months old that are exhibiting this
    problem.
I have a disk authored in Director MX2004 (10.1.1) that runs
fine on most all computers that I play it in. There are a number of
computers that are giving a window saying that Shockwave player 10
is not installed and needs to be installed. When you click OK, it
    appears that Shockwave is installing.
When we try to re-run the disk, we receive the same message.
I have had the user uninstall the Shockwave player client (through
Windows control panel) and install the standalone executable. Still
    no love.
I found that the application runs with (and requests)
Shockwave v.10.2.0.023 (10.2.0.022 works as well). The problem
    recurs with version 11.0r429.
    *Edit*
Further investigation reveals that if Shockwave 10.x was
installed and you upgrade to version 11.x, the disks will work. The
only time that we receive the error is if you have a fresh install
    of Shockwave 11.x installed.
Incidentally, the error says that you need Shockwawve 10
installed to run the package. When you click on the OK button, you
are directed to the download site for Shockwave 10.2.0.023. The
version is listed in the download page, however when Shockwave
installs, version 11.x is being pushed.

    Hi Sean,
I appreciate the input. I bought and installed Director MX
2004 (a while back) and I copied off the contents of the disk to my
HDD and found and placed iml32.dll, dirapi.dll and proj.dll and the
CD is exhibiting the same behavior. Are those the only library
files that I would need to have in the folder to make the projector
work? If it were just Xtras that the projector needed, wouldn't
    they just be downloaded?
Also, (after much digging and learning), if the required
libraries were not included in the projector, then the CD would not
have run on Shockwave 10 (at least I am pretty sure). That is where
I am confused. If we had seen issues on version 10, then I would
understand, but not when we can run the CD on version 10 and not
    11.
As a side note, it is interesting that there was some part of
Shockwave 10 that was obviously not included on 11. If you have 10
installed, it runs. If you have version 10 and you upgrade to
version 11 it will run. Finally, if you have version 11 and the CD
is not working, all you need to do is install version 10 and the CD
will work. If you have a fresh Shockwave installation of 11 and
attempt to install 10, unlike many programs, even though it is
older it will install and run concurrently (I don not think that
you can do that with Flash). Also, if you have 10 installed and
upgrade to 11, there are still many version 10 folders and files
that are left in place which is also unusual.
I know that Director and Shockwave do not have the attention
(let alone the cash flow of Flash) but it seems that the upgrade
path to 11 was not completely thought through. Don't get me wrong,
I love Shockwave but it seems like it is sort of the red-headed
step-child that is slowly being moth-balled even though Adobe is
obviously putting some effort into it.

  • Flash player won't install all the way onto my Mac?

Adobe Flash Player will not install properly on my Mac? It loads to 50% and then stops and says "General Installation Error". Can you help me?

Your troubles aren't coming from Flash Player.
You're missing a file that was made visible by the 10.8.5 update. Hundreds of thousands of Mac users all over the world deleted it, not knowing what it was. It causes this when it's missing.
Download this file: "Secrets" pereference pane by right clicking and choosing "Download Linked File As". It'll allow you to see "hidden" files.
    And this one: mach_kernel.zip
It's the one that's causing your problems... rather it not being on your system is causing them.
Install Secrets, and open your System Preferences.
Open the Secrets Preference Pane, and check "Show hidden files"
You'll need to press the "Quit this" button,
and restart Finder, by right clicking the Dock icon.
Then, place the mach_kernel.zip file in the Mac HD directory,
and unzip it. You should see a "faded" mach_kernel file appear.
    Trash the zip file.
Reopen your System Preferences and uncheck "Show Hidden files".
Instead of quitting Finder and relaunching it, reboot your Mac.
Your Flash Player installer won't quit anymore.

  • Flash player won't install for adminstrator, but will for child accounts

I use the Family Safety on our computer.  We have accounts for our child, self (as administrator), and guests.  Flash player shows as installed and works on the child and guest accounts.  But, it does not appear as installed on my administrator account.  We use McAfee for protection, but that doesn't seem to be the problem.  I have tried installing and uninstalling several times. I have tried installing using internet explorer and firefox.  We have windows 7.  I don't know what to do.  It used to be installed.

Administrator account: there is no flash player listed in the Manage Add-ons list.  Adobe Shockwave Flash Object is enabled.  When I choose to look at all add ons, ActiveX shows up and is also enabled.
Standard Account: there is no flash player listed in the manage add-ons list.  Adobe shockwave flash object and activeX are both enabled.
I looked in the "all add ons list" for both accounts, and there is not flash player plug in.  But flash player works in the standard account.  Am I missing a plugin?
Just to try it I enabled a google toolbar.  Flash player still doesn't work.
    Thank you.

  • Shockwave Player two versions installed.

I am using Adobe Shockwave Player 11.6 on Windows XP Pro and I.E.8.  Windows Add/Remove Programs lists as installed programs both Shockwave Player 11.6 and Shockwave player 11.5.  Can I safely uninstall version 11.5 without afftecting 11.6 or Adobe Flash?
    I'd appreciate your opinion.
    O S

I had to Uninstall both 11.5 and 11.6 versions of Adobe Shockwave Player than reinstall version 11.6.  All is fine now.

  • Shockwave Player 12.1 install help destination select

So I'm trying to install shockwave player but when I get to the destination select part I can not click on any of the disk and continue. For the macintosh Hd disk it says : adobe shockwave not supported on this OS version
(I upgraded my macbook to OS X Yosemite a couple of days ago)
and on the adobe shockwave 12 disk it says Adobe shockwave Player 12.1 can't be installed on this disk. The contents of this disk can't be changed.
Prior to this I uninstalled the shockwave player.Oddly that took about 2 seconds to complete.
I really need shockwave for interactive videos for school.Everything used to work well but I don't know what happened.
    Please Help me...
How can I successfully install shockwave player?

I had the same problem on an iMac but managed to download and install shockwave 11, see Adobe - Webplayer
There appeared a notice for incompatibility, but was able to continue installation. Apps (not requiring sw 12) did run after.
