Shockwave won't work in Chrome?

I have an HP Envy M4 with windows 8 and like the title says, it won't work.
I download it, it says it's complete, but when i go to the site that i need it on, it doesnt work and asks me to download the plug in. I've removed it and redownloaded it several times and it still wont work. I try going to chrome:plugins but it doesnt ever show up. Other people have said disable other flash options, there are NONE. The only plug in with the word flash is adobe flash player and it's up to date. I need shockwave for a class what do i do?!

If you need Shockwave then download the MSI for the full installer from this link

    Java won't work in Chrome. I have OSX 10.7 on my Macbook Pro, and when I try to update Java, a popup alert is served that the update is only going to work for OSX 10.6. It would be really, really helpful to be able to use Java in my browsers. Any insight as to how I can get it to do that?

    Do you have Java enabled in Safari:

  • Shockwave won't work on Mac Yosemite

    I've downloaded shockwave player to be able to use a CD-ROM that came with a college textbook for class. Sadly, after the cd-rom is inserted I get a message saying "Adobe Shockwave Player is required to display some of the elements on this page."
    Yes, I've gone through chrome://plug-ins and tried enabling and disabling shockwave. That doesn't work.
    Yes, I've reset my mac.
    Yes, I've restarted my mac.
    Yes, I've restarted chrome and safari.
    I've googled everywhere and youtube'd everywhere for an answer but all I can find is the same old answers and a whole pile of rants from people having similar issues.
    Please tell me something new. No, a magic wand won't help.
    Best Regards,
    Zahra

    Hi, Pwillener-
    Yes I've installed it
    I did find a short term solution (with flaws, of course). I've contacted the maker of my CD ROM and took screenshots of every process from downloading shockwave to actually installing...
    He worked me through trying to make it compatible for Safari.
    Best thing to do is contact the maker of the CD ROM if anyone else has problems because information is limited on adobe's website and apple won't help with third party applications (been there, done that too).
    And forget GeekSquad- That's $99USD down start up fee and $10USD a month... not guaranteeing they will fix the problem. I've heard they accidentally erase vital information on people's computers before and never fix it. That wasn't an option for me.
    So to be short and sweet, anyone that has trouble with Shockwave not working with Yosemite 10.10.2 or later, contact the maker of the software that requires Shockwave.
    It's still very glitchy and dysfunctional for me, but it works.
    Thanks for your quick response though

  • FLASH 11.3.300.268 won't work without Chrome

    There seems to be an issue with those who do not use Chrome trying to access FLASH from a location without using Chrome directly. It appears that if you choose to upload Chrome with FLASH on the Adobe page, FLASH is embedded in Chrome. It doesn't even show as loaded on my computer when I do an Adobe search for it using their upload problems tool. It does however show as there when one does an actual upload, which fails because of this.   When I activate and use Chrome, FLASH works as normal.  I can't uninstall FLASH because it is not seen by Adobe's scan.  It might if I uninstalled Chrome.  I would like not to use Chrome when using FLASH.  Is there some way of doing this without restarting the upload process afer unistalling both progrrams?

    I agree.   In the interim, the short term way of getting back to work is to use Chrome in which FLASH will work.
    ShutterStock requires the latest version of FLASH to upload microstock.  They appear oblivious to the issue, suggesting the problem has to do with my PC.
    Adobe should get with the progrm and understand that if you create dependency, responsibil;ities to partners and users go with this.

    Shockwave "won't respond" and "has crashed" in  Google Chrome, IE, Firefox, can't use it anywhere. I already tried completely removing every file it has, reinstalling it, and I went through the process of reinstalling Adobe Flash a couple of times. I'm using a PC. This has been going on for 3 days, it hasn't worked even once. It all seemed to have started right after I updated Google chrome, but Shockwave won't work on any browser, so I'm not sure if that's the case. Please help!

Please help!!!!!!

    Hi Andy, that is correct, they don't support PPC Macs anymore.
    You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/865/cpsid_86551.html#prob1=uninst,os=m10.6,
    Download this if you haven't...
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/installers/archive/fp10.1.102.6 4_and_9.0.289.0archive.zip
    Once downloaded if it doesn't unzip automatically the double click on that file.
    Look for the fp10.1.102.64_and_9.0.289.0archive folder, open it, look for the Flash Player 10.1.102.64 folder & open and look for 101r10264 folder & open it, double click on the flashplayer101r102_64_ubmac.dmg file, choose the Install Adobe Flash Player file to install... they don't make it easy!

  • I am having trouble opening up website games. I have already updated Adobe Flashplayer and Adobe Shockwave player. Still won't work.

    I am attempting to play games at Shockwave.com and they won't open. I have updated Adobe Flashplayer and Shockwave player, but they still won't work. What else do I need to do to get them to work?

    Hi, If your Anti-Virus has found malware, then what are their instructions on removing it? Also what are the names of the Malware and the location that it was found? Look in the log that your Anti-Virus should have to find this info.
    Malware can effect not only Flash Player, but depending on what type it is other programs on your computer/system.
    Is your system a 64bit? I understand you are using the 32bit browser. If you didn't find anything in the system32 location then you would have the Flash files in the SysWOW64 location.
    If you don't have the Shockwave Flash Object in the manage addons, that is why Flash Player is not working.

    Seemed to work just fine when I tested the code (with my .swf). Tested in Chrome, FF, IE, Safari.
    Does your Chrome have the Flash plugin?
    But a couple of things..
    quotes missing here:
    margin= 0, auto;>
    Seems like you are trying to scale to exact fit?
    #flashContent { width:100%; height:100%; }
    <param name="scale" value="exactfit" />
    Won't work with pixel dimensions for the .swf:
    width="850" height="567"
    and <center> tag... set W/H params to 100% and remove <center> if you want to scale to exact fit 100% W and H
    Best of luck!

  • Upgraded to firefox 6 and flash player won't work

    I've finally upgraded to Firefox 6, after much much hesitation, and now certain sites built in Flash won't work. They work just great in Safari. The upgrade to the latest Flash player worked for Safari, but not Firefox. I've updated the Shockwave player.
    No matter how many times I download and install the newest player and restart my browser, it still tells me I have to download and install the newest flash player and restart my browser.
    Even Firefox 5 doesn't want to work with Flash...

    Download Adobe Flash Player installer 10.3.183.7 (2.94 MB)
    * http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
    * '''When Downloading Plugins Update setup files, Remove Checkmark from Downloading other Optional Softwares with your Plugins (e.g. Toolbars, McAfee, Google Chrome, etc.)'''
    * Close Firefox (click '''Firefox''' button and click '''Exit''')
    * Open the '''install_flash_player.exe''' file, then follow the installer's instructions.
    -> Start Firefox in Safe Mode by Holding down the '''Option''' key while starting your Mozilla Firefox application. (If the Profile Manager opens, select a profile and then hold down the '''Option''' key again while clicking the button to start Firefox.)
    * As an alternate method, go to Utilities (in the Applications folder) and open Terminal, then run:
    ** /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox-bin -safe-mode
    -> Firefox Safe Mode window will appear -> DON'T SELECT ANY OPTIONS, just click '''Continue in Safe Mode'''
    -> go to a website that uses Flash player:
    * http://www.youtube.com/
    * http://movies.yahoo.com/
    Check and tell if its working while you are Browsing in Firefox Safe Mode.

  • Mouse clicks won't work on the browser - any suggestions?

    Following an upgrade of Firefox last year, I can't get the mouse clicks to work on the browser. Doesn't matter whether it's left or right buttons. The radio buttons and links get highlighted when you hover the mouse over the links or the buttons but they won't work when clicked. They work on other browsers (Explorer and Chrome) but no longer on Firefox. I'm using it on a Sony Vaio laptop running Windows 7

    The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
    Note: ''This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.''
    To Reset Firefox do the following:
    #Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
    #Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
    #Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
    #Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
    Further information can be found in the [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems]] article.

  • Close, Minimize, Maximize buttons won't work

    So lately the close, minimize and maximize buttons in Safari, Chrome and Firefox won't work. Also, I can't move/drag the window easily, I have to click like 10 times and try over and over again so I can drag it. If I have two windows open (not tabs) I cant close unless i go cmd+W. Do you know what must be wrong? Those buttons work fine in some apps, but finder has that problem too.. I try to force close them and they won't eve appear on task manager, which is weird, they used to. Oh and my launchpad button (in the dock and in the keyboard) also doesn't work.

    I found out that it wasn't just Safari, I had the same problem with FireFox. On the forum I found the (I think) solution:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=12073845#12073845
    It looks like the problem is solved
