Shop Blackberry

This may not be the right area to post this, but I was unsure where to post & I am looking at a Q10. I am really disappointed in Shop Blackberry & have been left feeling that RIM & Blackberry do not want to sell the phones. I want to order an unlocked Q10, I called because the phones say GSM network so I wanted to make sure they would work with the Bell network. The person I spoke to who is selling the phones could not tell me & directed me to another number to call. I asked about warranty, returns, etc., she again could not give me any information. I asked about shipping, where was it coming from, would I be charged duty, fees from courier etc. & again she could not tell me. Finally I asked about how long it would take to reach me, I was told it would take 2 days to process & then FOUR (4) weeks to get to me. I have been a loyal Blackberry user, I am currently on my 4th one, but right now I feel like RIM/Blackberry do not want to sell their phones!!! I do not want to wait 4weeks for a phone, I do not understand why shipping would take so long, I do not know why the people at shopblackberry.ca can not answer my questions. I am completely frustrated with the lack of customer service & disheartened with RIM/Blackberry. I am seriously considering a different kind of phone due to this experience.

That link suggests that any charges in terms of shipping will only apply to those outside the US,

It seems that you will see more information about shipping etc if you 'test order' i.e. go as if you were going to order the Q10 fill in all the details etc. These links also provide more information;

In terms if the time taken to reach you, any business will tend to overestimate so that they are covered for worst case scenarios, I would expect that under normal circumstances, it will be much quicker to arrive than four weeks, would you rather they said one week and it took four, or four and it took one?

On Warranty, I believe there is manufacture warranty on all devices manufactured, and it should be good for about 2years

  • Shop BlackBerry just cost BlackBerry a customer

    I ordered a Passport that showed in stock on Oct 5. My credit card was charged - the transaction is showing occurred on the 8.
    Then after several emails trying to find information regarding a shipment date I finally received word that it would ship sometime around Oct 29 at the earliest.
    Had the device not shown being in stock I would have not placed an order. Instead I am now forced to waste my valuable time dealing with this nonsense.
    So I decided to cancel my order as I need a phone now, and I was just told by Shop BlackBerry that they cannot refund my credit card. Although Digital River's policy clearly states that no credit card will be charged until the order has shipped.
    Now here the thing, they didn't state why they couldn't refund my money, but that it will take some time to get back to me.
    So I am now going to have to dispute the charges with American Express. In addition I will file a complaint with the consumer affairs bureau of the state of California.
    But as far as BlackBerry is concerned, I will not deal with an unprofessional company like Shop BlackBerry - in the end BlackBerry not only lost a sale but a customer.

    There should be more concrete information about roaming and phone rates. I agree with you. We travelled to Italy this summer and i spent a month reading everything I could find about data roaming, wifi, cellular data and charges. It is complicated. Each country has their own rules and cell services.
    I recommend you NOT drop Verizon. One unkind uniformed employee does NOT represent the whole company. Verizon is a GREAT company and they would like to hear from you to rectify the problem.
    Maybe a solution would be to have an icon on their home page for International Travel with details of countries and roaming plans.
    From my experience, the least expensive way to phone from other countries is to purchase a phone there and use their international plan.
    When I planned our trip last summer I got an interested helpful employee who gave me great advice.
    The summer before I called and got an uninformed employee who gave me weaker advice and one of my children returned from a Cruise with a $1100 bill! Roaming charges.
    I have been a loyal customer of Verizon for years and will stick with them. They have the best coverage and company in my opinion.
    Don't leave Verizon.   Good Luck!

  • No security seal on Playbook from Shop Blackberry

    My Playbook 16GB arrived from Shopblackberry.com and it didn't have any seal whatsoever on the box. I expected to see at least the 2 clear plastic rectangular seals on the sides of the box but they weren't there.
     I paid for a brand new unit and I fear that the Playbook I got might be a return or a refurb.
     Did anyone else get theirs this way?

    Will verizon get the blackberry torch? I am incredibly picky when it comes to phones and i have fallen in love with the blackberry torch but i do not want at&t service at all so I figured I would ask here hoping someone might have the answer.

    Have a link? As mentioned, my research couldn't find anything about CDMA.
    Would love to read an official statement. Thanks.

    Don't think we are going to get it anytime soon...or a response from VZW for that matter...I have tried numerous calls to VZW...nothing.  I have tried Blackberry...nothing.
    AT&T does have the US exclusive for the Passport...just no date from them as to when they will start selling them.  Lots of rumors that it will either be just before the holidays...or just after.
    I have had a Blackberry device for about 20 years.  Been a Verizon customer via work or personally for that long as well.
    I think Blackberry is going to move to selling devices directly (Amazon, Shop Blackberry, etc).  Too much risk with inventory write offs for unsold phones (and Carrier relations not that great in US)   Blackberry had to write off $800M on unsold inventory on the Z10...which I enjoy as I have one.  The BB10 operating system ROCKS...people don't know what they are missing...
    Truth is...BB only had to sell about 240K Passport Phones to be profitable...they sold over 200K in the first few hours it was released...That phone is now sold out in every market worldwide where it has been released.
    Although I am frequently on Crackberry daily to check out info...here was a fairly un-biased and detailed look at the Passport if you haven't seen it yet.

    There are some other reviews out there from folks who have actually used the phone for a week or 2...this link just does some straight up comparisons.  Other reviews from actual users...are very positive.
    Bottom Line:  I won't stay with Verizon if there is no Passport.  I also will no longer lock myself into a contract by purchasing a subsidized phone from Verizon (actually more expensive anyway) I will buy the device...and then shop for the carrier to add my phone (obviously one that has a GSM network at this point).

    If you purchased the device from a carrier, the carrier should help. If you purchased from Shop BlackBerry, then BlackBerry will assist.

  • Passport getting very hot

    Passport red, bought from your website, shop.blackberry.com, in the end of last month.
    today, the phone suddenly got very hot, especially the left top part on the back, and the battery drops very quickly.
    I wiped for times, and not install any apps, but the question is still there, still very hot.
    Please help me, what happens.

    I would re-install the compete OS.  If I recall correctly a wipe removes all the data, but keeps the OS. Re-installing the OS would make sure everything is re-installed back to factory level. 
    If the excessive temperature stays, I suggest you send the phone for service. If it is a new phone it should be covered by warranty.

  • How to make phone vibrate on ring, not messages?

    Hi,
    Im trying to set up my phone so that it only vibrates when an incoming call comes through, for all other things (messages, notifications etc) I want it to be on silent.
    Can't seem to figure out how to set this up, any ideas?

    You might want to try using a bluetooth headset as there is no way to enable a vibration when a call is connected.
    You can find a variety of supported headsets at the Shop BlackBerry website.

  • How to make phone vibrate when call is answered?

    Hi!
    Does anybody know how to make a BB phone (Bold 9700) to have a short vibrate when your call is being answered, so that you don't have to look at the phone or hold it to your ear when making a call?

  • Help PLEASE!! Disaster in Thailand 8310

    We are a Canadian family of four travelling around the world.  We are in our 3rd month of our 8 month trip.  Two days ago I broke/cracked our screen on our Blackberry 8310.  This is the only primary method of speaking to family and friends at home for the next 6 months. Our blackberry gives us the courage to travel to new areas of the world knowing we are an email/call away from help if needed.  We are in Thailand right now (the south near Phuket). Does anyone know of anyone who could replace our screen in Bangkok?  Even if I could get a replacement LCD I could try and replace it myself before heading to Laos and Vietnam where we would definintely feel more comfortable with it. 
    If anyone has any ideas or suggestions to help us we would be very greatful.
    Thank you in advance - our two children keep in touch daily with their friends and teachers with our Blackberry while travelling.

    Official OS upgrades are generally controlled by the carrier. An exception is unbranded devices purchased from Shop BlackBerry and Amazon.
    There are workarounds if your carrier has not pushed the upgrade and you don't want to wait. (Try with SIM removed. Use another SIM from carrier that has released the upgrade. Sachesi. Autoloader. )

    Bought brand new unlock on black Friday sale from Digital River.
    When I talk on a call all you can hear is muffled and very distant talking. Unless on speakerphone then it works fine.

    my z30 was fine for 9 months then others could only hear me on speaker phone or with head phones plugged in. I am afraid it is a hardware issue. i did all the steps suggested on here. As mine was under 12 month warranty shop blackberry sent me a new device which I recieved ten days ago. I  think that is your best bet
