Shop deleted my profile- how do I access my info?!

So I was having the ever-present Display issue that is oh-so-common with these iMacs, and sent it to THE ONLY Apple maintenance shop in all of Korea.
While language was a barrier, we managed to describe the issue and told them emphatically that we don't want our hard-drive wiped, since it was a display issue and there was no reason to mess with the HD. We gave them my password, so that they could log on if needs be to do admin work.
Fast forward a couple weeks later, and low and behold, apon turning it on MY Account was gone, but my husbands remained. We logged into my husbands account, and the file size was the same, and if you go to the "users" tab you can see my profile with all the info, but at the log-on screen, there is no choice for ME to log-on, just him. He was also upgraded to the "full admin" position that I once was (in the 'Accounts' portion of system Preferences..)
So to me, it looks like they got rid of my profile, but my information is still present on the HD. I can't access any of my files (no permissions) except of course the 'Share' directory.
I'm SURE there is a way that he can gain access to those folders, since he has full admin rights.
Any suggestions/help? Thank you in advanced.

update: found a temporary work-around that involves creating a new user account, making it an admin, then changing the permissions to my old folders and allowing the new account to have access. While that has fixed the immediate problem of gaining access to my files, I'm having TONS of permissions errors like not being able to access my iPhoto library, which is now perpetually locked out because every time I open iPhoto to choose a new 'iPhoto Library' location (other than the one that is locked out), it says "sorry your locked out" and promptly closes. Since iLife was installed before I got the machine, is there any way to re-install it without doing a whole system refresh? Will i always be doomed to have permissions errors?
Thanks for anyones help.

  • How do I access my synced info? I am wanting to view my passwords, logins, webpages, history, etc... Is there not a page that shows step-by-step instructions?

I think I have it set up correctly, email address, I have the sync key copied. I have no idea where to go to view my synced data. I am at a complete loss. I would appreciate any and all help.

That makes sense, so how do I access the info in the Firefox browser?
I guess what is confusing to me is since I am able to save 4 or 5 things through syncing, is there not a way I can view this info? What's the point in being able to sync and save this info if I cannot view it? I'm just frustrated cos it's tough to explain stuff w/o being face-to-face, I guess. And, I am all over the place cos I am frustrated I cannot grasp this concept.
So, after I open my Firefox browser, then what are the next steps I take to view my synced data?

  • How can I access an unsupported usb device that's seen by system profiler

is there a way to access an unsupported usb device? my parents bought my daughter a cheap and easy to use digital camera and I am looking for a way to access the photos. the camera's manual mentions that there is no mac driver and there are no plans to develop one. I plug it in anyways in the event the system / Iphoto recognizes this, But I get nothing on the desktop as in a generic disk image icon. I open system profiler and My G4 knows the camera is plugged in. If this interface between the two is recognized how can I access the camera?
does a driver have to be written to allow access? I saw a usb dev kit on version tracker but I have no clue as to how to write a driver. I could get a flash card reader but I was hoping that there may be some back door or an app somewhere to allow me to get the photos off the camera.
    thanks!!!

    Hi, Israel.
You wrote: " I plug it in anyways in the event the system / Iphoto recognizes this"See if Image Capture recognizes the camera. Launch Image Capture, which is in the Macintosh HD > Applications folder.
Otherwise, you're probably going to have to go the route of using a card reader. While the connection may be USB, they may be using some non-standard implementation that requires a driver.
Writing drivers is not something you'd want to even attempt since you didn't create the hardware!
    Good luck!

  • How do I access pictures from my iPhone saved in iCloud so that I can delete some of them from iCloud selectively?.

How do I access pictures from my iPhone saved in iCloud in a computer so that I can see & delete some of them from iCloud to free up the free 5GB?.

What Mac model do you have? What system version and iPhoto version are you running?  Do you meet these requirements:
The following is for this Apple document: iCloud: Photo Stream FAQ
What do I need to use Photo Stream?
To use Photo Stream, including Shared Photo Streams, you need an iCloud account, compatible devices, and up-to-date software:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 6.0 or later
Mac with OS X Mountain Lion v10.8.2 or later and iPhoto 9.4 or Aperture 3.4 or later
PC with Windows 8, Windows 7, or Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) and the iCloud Control Panel 2.1 or later for Windows
Apple TV (2nd generation) with Software Update 5.1 or later
You can still use Photo Stream without Shared Photo Streams if your devices meet these requirements:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 5.1 or later
Mac with OS X Lion v10.7.5 or later and iPhoto 9.2.2 or Aperture 3.2.3 or later
PC with Windows 7 or Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) and the iCloud Control Panel v2.0 or later for Windows
Apple TV (2nd generation) with Software Update 5.0 or later
If you do then sign in to the same iCloud account that's on your iPhone on your Mac via the System/iCloud Preference pane as shown in this screenshot:
Next setup iPhoto's Photo Stream preference pane as shown in this screenshot:
The photos on your iPhone must be in it's Photo Stream so make sure the iPhone has enabled Photo Stream as shown below:
Now you can select a photo in the Photo Stream section of iPhoto and control-click on it to delete it:

It sounds like you might have broken links to your content. Either repair these by putting the files you've recovered where iTunes expects to find them or delete the broken entries then go to iTunes Store > Purchased > Music > Not on This Computer, and click the download links.
If you have an Apple device see also Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

  • I created one profile in Firefox. But while deleting the Profile i deleted the files also. How to get those files?

For creating a User agent, I created one profile in Fire fox. But while i am deleting the Profile, i clicked on the button 'Delete Files'. Now i want those files. Can you please tell me from where can i get those files?
    Please revert back to
    [email protected]

Yes, the places.sqlite has been copied. I don't see any specific instructions in the "restoring to a different locaton" directions on how to open the new profile, though. Step 7 just says to paste the contents of the backed up file to the new profile (in this case, I've copied them over the default profile created when I first downloaded firefox). This overwrote the existing files. Then it says to Start Firefox. Which I did with no old bookmarks showing up. That's why I posted here - am I missing a step once I open Firefox to make it look at the new profile information?

  • How do I delete a profile that I don't want any more?

I have multiple profiles on my macbook pro. How do I delete a profile that I don't want any more?

Document files need to be associated with an app that will read it. I use documents to go, but there are others out there, paid and free.
those apps will either have file transfer protocols that work within iTunes. Some also have the ability to upload and download using services like sugar sync or dropbox. Docs to Go has a desktop program that you can use to sync documents over wifi outside of iTunes.
Another way to get documents onto your ipad is to mail them to yourself, open that mail, 'send' the document to your app and then view it that way.
