Shopping cart in iweb NO PAYPAL

I would like to insert a shopping cart WITHOUT using paypal. I know how to create the "add to shopping cart" buttons, but can not figure out how to get them to link to an actual shopping cart page that should total everything up. I will be authorizing the payments from my office so I only need a cart that adds up the total and sends the credit card info to my email (like with forms).
Is there a way to do this without going through a third party?
Thank you

I doubt forms send credit card info by email, usually in plain text.
Me think something a tiny bit more secure order handling is needed.
Here's the alternative.
Put your bank account number on your webpage with the following line :
Send me the money and I'll send you the merchandise.
There are lots of gullible people out there, so you will never be short on customers.
Start small, think big.

Does Apple have software that allows me to create a shopping cart in Iweb?

No.  You will have to integrate PayPal into iWeb by creating a PayPal business account.
You can also do a Google search for shopping carts.

I would suggest using Pay Pal. If you sign up for a free business account you can use the merchant services to set up buy now buttons, add to cart buttons, and the shopping cart. The only draw back is that your can't customize the look to match your site. I would use pay pal for two reasons, people know and trust them and its much cheaper than having your own merchant account. Good luck

  • Shopping Cart for iWeb

Does anyone out there have any experience integrating a shopping cart with iWeb? I am interesting in using Google Checkout and so would like to use one of the shopping carts compatible with it.

You can always create a link to a third party service where you can build a shopping cart with a small amount of items to lots of items. This will be the easiest way out. There are various services around. Make a search with your favorite search engine.

The most common way to get paid for selling goods online is PayPal. Once you have setup an account and added the buttons to your site, PayPal takes care of the cart and collecting the money.
Here's an example of a website page set up for selling. The following pages illustrate how to create the buttons and give an example of how a shopping cart works using one of PayPal's partner digital delivery services.

  • Virtual shopping cart in iweb'09?

I would like to add a virtual shopping cart to my website-customers click on the check boxes and it adds it to a cart, the total is a quote only. I just want a simple cost calculator on my site. Is there a way to do this in iweb'09, or any html or some software (preferably free!) that could let me achieve this?
    Thanks for your help!

You could use something like an online store to do something like that. Do a Google search and see what comes up.
That definitely won't be free though.
Some of the online web site creation package contain store options built in - take a look at http://www.weebly.com and see if you could use this instead of iWeb.

Ron ~ You're more likely to get help if you supply some details about the "trouble" you're having.

  • Adding payPal shopping cart to a Flash website?

    Hi there,
I'm a newbie, creating my first flash website and my first shopping cart, so  be easy on me.
I've done  a lot of research, however was unable to find any tutorials on how to  set up a  Paypal shopping cart or any other secured shopping cart in a website  that was created in Flash professional CS5, actionscript 3.0. Paypal's  tutorial is  only for html (copy/paste the code in your html website and voila) but  how to integrate shopping cart in Flash website? Any help would be  appreciated.
This is my first time setting up a cart on a website. I  have a "shop"  button on my site (see picture below) that I would like linked to an  external  page preferably with my items that I would like to sale. Not  sure if paypal's shopping cart can do what I want it to do. Once the  user clicks on the "Shop" button, I'd like for my customer to be able to  see a picture of the items I have for sale, price for each item, a box  where the buyer can write quantity of item desired, add to cart button  and then check out button. With paypal shopping  cart, can I add  pictures beside each item I am selling when entering the  price on  paypal's website or I have to add the pictures of the items I  am  selling directly in my shop section of my website and add a buy now   button for each individual item and then copy/paste the email link  provided by  Paypal to each of my buy now buttons and add that code to  my "Actions" layer within Flash? How would the script look like? And  what if later on I want to add additional info to an item, change price  or delete it completely...would I have to make the changes everytime  within paypal only or I'd have to make the changes on both paypal and my  flash file and upload new copy to server? I'd like for my cart to  integrate with my site (keep the same look and feel, same  layout/background color) preferably but what ever way is the easiest.  Thanks for your help.

Any source that provides embed code to add to your webpage should work. So in other words if E-Junkie provides the HTML code that you simply embed in your own code it will work. If it requires a certain plugin be installed it may or may not.

Hello Karlos and welcome to the forum!
PayPal offers a landing page upon purchase but you are only allowed to set up one landing page so the idea of having a separate landing page for each item is out of the question. Basically the one landing page you are allowed is a link you can click on to go back to your website after the purchase confirmation page of PayPal which shows receipt of purchase item number, quantity, shipping address (if applicable) etc.
The landing page must abide by PalPal terms including certain criteria that must be shown on your landing page. Further detail is available on PayPal website.
The person who purchases a product is emailed a receipt and you are also emailed a copy of the receipt. Theoretically you could setup an email address rule in Mail so when you receive an email from someone who makes a purchase you automatically email them a URL to download the image or you can send it as an attachment through the rule setup through Mail.app
The downside is you have to rely on the Mail rule to function properly it might be a little bit of trial and error to get the correct rules setup for it setting rule variables such as item number, etc. Also depending on how many digital download packages you have it could be cumbersome to maintain and setup all the files and related Mail rules for all of them. Also you would have to have your computer on with Mail.app running to have the application process the received emails into Mail rules and send a reply with attachment. If you had your computer off overnight and Mail wasn't running to process the rule and send an email upon purchase a customer would have to wait until you turned your computer on to get their download purchase.
The ideal method for this situation is to use watermarked images as preview on website and use php to require account creation and login on your website and have visitors login and view their account information where they are able to download their purchases through encrypted link. The link cannot be copied and given to someone else since it is encrypted and even if it weren't encrypted account login is required to access the file anyway. Also php can set up so visitors who purchase can only download the file a certain number of times. You can have it so they can only download the file once, twice, 10 times. PHP is the very best method in this situation no question the list of pros regarding this matter are endless.
PayPal can still be used in php method as a payment gateway. Unless you have a merchant account setup with your bank you can use other payment gateways like authorze.net or similar to make the payment transition from ones credit card to your bank account. PayPal can be used to create shopping carts for physical items but if you want to have a commerce site for digital download material you can still use PayPal but there's a lot of ingenuity involved. With regard to iWeb it's a little out of the applications' ability. I can easily say this would be a lot of work for the inexperienced user.
    Best of luck to you.

  • Aperture- shopping cart option?

Hi I am currently in the process of creating a website...and I may be purchasing Aperture soon...I guess what I want to do is allow client proofing (password protected) and ordering (and preferably payment) online.
*I want to maintain control of the printing at the professional lab of MY choosing (ie. no smug mug etc etc)
*I want to have the money deposited directly into my account.
Now I guess what I am wanting to know is- has anyone done this using Iweb and Aperture and something else added for the ordering and payment part of the process.
I know in Aperture I can create webgalleries for clients (I know you can password protect in Aperture) to proof the photos and I know there's a plug in where they can "approve" shots but what about the ordering and payment aspect?
I'm trying to investigate a few options but am wondering if anyone has any ideas or have achieved what I want. No I don't want to buy a Blu Domain template etc before anyone suggests it
    TIA!

    You can check at:
    http://www.aperturepluggedin.com/
    but I doubt it.
With any of the Aperture web publishing features, you're going to have to do some coding to get a shopping cart or send them over to PayPal. Don't even try it with a Web Gallery.
On a side note: Congratulations to Ian. I just noticed the Aperture Assistant is at the top of the page at aperture plugged in.

  • Host+Domain Name+Shopping Cart Package

Ok so I am going to create a small business website with not a lot of traffic. I am banking on iWeb 2 to release in January with HTML support so adding features like a shopping cart will be easier...but until then I have some questions.
Ok lets say my site is completed with about 10-15 pages.
I want to host other than .Mac...
-I decide to host with godaddy.com or something else
-Now I want my own domain name with total masking. I don't want to see any .Mac or iweb stuff in the site domain. So I is that easy with godaddy?
    Now the BIG question...
I want to sell several products on my site...assuming I now have iWeb 2 and it has HTML support, this shouldn't be that hard.
-Do I get the cart for $27 a month with Go Daddy or another host? Will that give me a totally incorporated cart bult into my website? Will is just give me HTML code to paste into iWeb?
-I would prefer an incorporated shopping cart compared to paypals free, external shopping cart.
Also, I would need a merchant account with godaddy, and who would work as the gateway for credit card payments?
Basically, once i have my site made, assuming iWeb 2 has HTML support, I just want to have a shoppig cart package that allows me to paste their HTML into iWeb and get a shopping cart that is totally internal to my site. I also want the merchant account and the whole gateway package to accept credit cards.
Any suggestions on the steps I should take on deciding the best host, domain masking feature, and shopping cart path I want???

Ok, It looks like GoDaddy and Verio both offer shopping cart features, but they are external...meaning you use their online software to create basically your own "Online Store". So I would link my iWeb site to this store...but they would look tottally different. Some thing with Verio.com
    https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/ecommerce/cart.asp?se=%2B&ci=278
What is the best solution for a shopping cart that uses HTML to paste into your existing website???
