Shopping for Monitors...

Hi guys,
This is the first time I've posted on these forums, and I'm hoping that I've asked this question in the right section!
I've been looking at purchasing a HDTV for a while now, mainly for gaming purposes, but I figured it would be nice if it'd also function as a second monitor for my MacBook Pro. This is what I'm looking for:
At least 30",
LCD,
High Definition Ready/Compatible (these terms confuse me!),
DVI inputs for the MacBook,
Inputs for the XBox, PS2 etc.,
A resolution equal to or higher than 1440x900 (what I'm currently using on the MacBook)
What all my research so far has shown me, however, is that as soon as I go past 26", the highest resolution around for an LCD is 1366x768. Ideally I don't want to lose that quality when I hook up the MacBook. If anyone knows of ANY TVs/Monitors that fill my criteria, I'd greatly appreciate your feedback.
Macbook Pro 1.83 Ghz   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

I'd highly recommend that you get 1920x1080p monitors, these include many models in the 37, 45, and larger screen sizes.
Westinghouse has a 37" 1080
CTL-Nexus also has a 37" 1080
all of the Sharp Aquos 45" (except for 1 D series) and above are 1080 and there is a new Sharp coming out that will be 37"
I personally use the 45" Sharp LC-45GD5U, for media use, 30" ACD for desktop use, and a 30" CRT high definition monitor for critical monitoring.

  • Add custom field in the selection screen for shopping cart monitor report

    Hello,
refering to the notes 458591 an 672960, in order to add custom field at item level, we get the structure INCL_EEW_PD_ITEM_CSF.
But this doesnt make it appear on the "Shopping Cart Monitor Report" selection screen.
So should I try adding it in the existing interface of the badi bbp_sc_mon ?

    hello Yann,
ok I will implement that. Is it possible to change the interface of the badi method to  include more data if we want to check the role of the user who is executing the shopping cart monitor report and accordingly do the settings of field display ? Or calling a function module inside the method to get the attributes of sy-uname would be easier?

  • Column 'Messages' in Shopping Cart Monitor search result

    Dear All,
what does this column 'Messages' in Shopping Cart Monitor mean? Is it related to any HR data and how?
(SRM Administration -> Application Monitors -> Shopping Cart Monitor)
Thanks in advance for your answer.
    Regards
    Christina

    Hi Anshu,
    thank you for your answer.
In our application only an employee name is to be seen in each line of this column. And this employee is not always the one who created the shopping cart, strangely. Anyway every user creating shopping carts seems to be related to a certain employee name. This is why I thought of HR data. Perhaps you know how this could happen..

  • Shopping cart Monitor Screen

    Hello Gurus,
I need to enhance the Shopping Cart Monitor Screen in SRM 7.0 portal but unable to do so.
Any help would be highly appreciative.
    Thanks.

    Hi
you  can use the badi BBP_MON_SC to enhance Monitor SC screen.
more over if you want to adding CUF for header level and item level  then you can use the standard Include structures provided by SAP and then to make it functional you can use the badi.
    thanks and regards

  • Shopping Cart Monitor in SRM 7

    Hello Experts,
The client is upgrading from SRM 5 to SRM 7.
I want to create a new role in SRM 7 that has Shopping Cart Monitor.
I found the T-Code/Dynpro application for that, but I see not only the SC monitor but also the business partner and contract distributation links on screen.
Do you have an idea, how I can isolate the SC monitor ? I don't want to see the other transactions on screen.
    Thank you !
    Rami Kleiman

    Hi,
Thank you for the answer. The problem is that when adding this Tcode to a role, the interface doesn't look very graphical.
It looks the same like it looks in the SRM GUI.
it means that you are using the Z tcode-ZBBP_MON_SC   in SRM 5.0 .  the same tcode:
Z_BBP_MON_SC in SRM 7.0 -you can see the same interface in  SRM 7.0. The portal roles in SRM are old portal roles
check with your  Portal team to assign the  SRM administration role in SRM 7.0 .you can see in the  new interface.

  • I shop for for apps on my ipod touch and when i plug my ipod into itunes and it says erase and sync what does that mean?

    hello all,
i normally shop on my ipod touch (because frankly i cant be bothered to plug it into itunes then shop! ) to shop for apps and song and etc. and because i have a wall charger in my room theres pratically no need to go the computer! so sometimes when im on the computer i want to use my ipod touch as well so i charge it on the pc.
well to cut the story short everytime i want to shop on itunes it comes up with this note that says "your ipod is synced with a different pc etc" then it comes up with erase and sync? so my question is what does syn mean? because im worried if i choose ok it would get rid of all my apps
    - someone help me!

    - It means what it says.  Your iPod is synced with a different iTunes library.  To transfer purchases to this computer:

  • If my wife wants to buy an ipad II what does she need to do shopping for hours at a time on the internet while driving

My wife wants to do internet searches and shop for hours on end while I'm driving.  What does she need if we get an Ipad 2?
Some people here at the office say I need Wi-Fi.  Some say 3G.  Some say I need to sign up with a carrier on some type of monthly plan to get the internet.
    Help!!
I need this while we drive from state to state and not for getting on the internet through some hotel Wi-Fi Connection.
    Thanks,
    BaylinerKing

3G coverage and overall performance between Verizon and AT&T varies depending on where you are, and depending on where you are you may have no 3G service at all with any carrier.
The other consideration is the price-points of various data plans, they differ between size and cost.
But all plans are month-to-month, meaning that you can turn the service off anytime you want, and for as long as you want, but when you activate 3G service you pay for 30 days of service regardless if you turn 3G off (so turn it off on the 29th day if you won't need 3G next month).  You can do all of this right from the iPad, and you don't have to set anything up at the time of purchase (other than choose your carrier).  I bought a Verizon 3G iPad 6 weeks ago and have not yet activated 3G, but will do so soon while travelling.

  • Is the Thunderbolt Port on Macbook Pro 15" 2011 onyl for monitor ?

    Hello community
I have a MBP 15" from 2011, Is the Thunderbolt Port on on this only for monitor ?
I'm considering to buy a TB extern HD for backup, want to be sure before I give my money away.
    Thanks in advance !
    P.

Thunderbolt has got the ability to transfer audio, video and data, and it's only compatible with Thunderbolt devices and adapters. You can also connect monitors.
Additionally, it's compatible with Mini DisplayPort, so if you have a Mini DisplayPort cable or adapter, you can use it, so you don't have to buy other adapters

  • MacPro: How to prevent scanning for monitor after sleep?

    Hi everybody,
So here's the deal: When I power up my MacPro or wake it up from sleep, it seems to do a quick search for connected displays and activates only the DVI output(s) which have a monitor connected to them. While I understand that behavior at boot time, I find it really troublesome when waking the MacPro from sleep.
    Here's why:
I rarely turn off the MacPro completely, I much rather put it to sleep when I'm away. What I do, however, is to turn off the huge 30'' display that drains a lot of power when left on. When I come back, I just have to turn the display on before turning on the MacPro and everything is fine.
However, there's one scenario where I systematically get caught and that's really... really annoying! It happens in combination with the EyeTV Software. When I'm away by the time a scheduled show starts, the EyeTV wakes up the MacPro and starts recording. That's exactly what it's supposed to do. However, since the monitor is turned off by the time the MacPro wakes up, it won't recognize it and the graphics card won't send any signal! So when I come back to the computer and turn on the screen, It says "No Signal". The solution at this point is putting the MacPro to sleep briefly and resume it with the display turned on this time. However, putting the Mac to sleep while EyeTV is recording a show causes the recording to be rendered useless.
Is there a way to prevent the MacPro from rescanning for monitors after sleep? Or maybe there's a key combination to let it rescan manually?
As far as I remember, it didn't do the rescan-monitors-after-sleep thing under Tiger, but not sure about that...
Any help would be highly appreciated!
    MasOS X: 10.5.2 Leopard
Mac Hardware: MacPro Dual-Core Intel Xeon 3GHz (from mid-2007)
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT
    Monitor: Dell 3008WFP
    Greetings,
    Mike

What I do, however, is to turn off the huge 30'' display that drains a lot of power when left on.
The display should go to "Active-off mode" (amber power light) when the computer sleeps. This uses less than 2 watts.
    <http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/monitors/3008WFP/en/ug/about.htm#Product% 20Features>
If you do want the monitor off (e.g. to save power while EyeTV is recording), you could use a DVI Detective

  • Check on Shop for usrid and Goods recipient field in BADI

I would like to make a check thro' check docuement BADI in SRM 3.0, Give an error to user if shop for usrid is different from Goods recipient field in the shopping cart.
In which structure the shop for usrid information is stored and how should I read it. I can get the goods recipient information from structure-BBP_PDS_PARTNER.

    Thanks Rupali,
I've already created my search help and search help goes well with any of my ztable or zprogram. But, the field where I want to add my search help is a standard migo program SAPLMIGO, and the field where I want to add search help is "good recipient" field under "where" tab of "migo" transaction.
And the name of the field is WEMPF, which belongs to the sap standard structure GOITEM.
So, SAP wont allow me to edit it's standard tables. Is there any other alternative?

  • Alert Repeat Count For Monitor

When I look in the Active Alerts view in the console many of the alerts have a repeat count. I understand if they are created from a rule and have alert suppression turned on this means only one alert was created instead of having multiple alerts that
are exactly the same open. But for monitors what does this repeat count refer to? I checked the state changes in health explorer and they seem to be somewhere along with that number. When I run an alert report it shows repeat count also but that seems to mean
how many alerts were actually created over the period of time the report is ran for. Please help since I'm not sure what the repeat count is referring to for monitors (not rules) that created alerts which are currently open.

    1) But for monitors what does this repeat count refer to?
Repeat count is meaningless for monitor because is always zero.
    2) When I run an alert report it shows repeat count also but that seems to mean how many alerts were actually created over the period of time the report is ran for.
This repeat count value in reporting is different to repeat count value in alert view.
In Reporting, the repeat count is how many alerts were actually created over the period of time and is a calculated field which sum up alerts over certain period of time.
In Alert View, the repeat count is the field value of alert record

  • Jstack shows a thread waiting for monitor entry but it's already acquired

I have a heavy load website powered by tomcat-6.0.14 and jdk1.6.0_02-b05(amd64) on a 2 dual-core amd Opteron. When tomcat started, and I directed the http request(~200/s) abruptly to tomcat, it looks choked for over one minute, and if I took off the http requests, tomcat can recover in a few minutes.
Then I use jstack during the choke time to find what's the cause, where I found a strange situation. Almost all threads are blocking on getting a log4j lock(I think it's normal, since log4j use a coarse lock), but one thread which already got the lock are also blocked. Below is the stack trace.

What's the cause? Is jstack accurate? Or, the problem is caused by hotspot compling since tomcat is just started? Or it's just because log4j's coarse lock? ( but after the starup, tomcat can handle the same traffic without any problem, and jstack shows no log4j block at all.)
    Thanks in advance.

  • I'm shopping for the Apple Mac Pro

I'm shopping for the Apple Mac Pro Desktop 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Quad, 3GB RAM
    Mfr. Part # MB871LL/A
When I put that in the Apple website, (just MB871LL/A ) or Google on the Web, it shows results)
which on the Web is :
2300$ at PC connection, J&R and Amazon
While looking for a better price I found one
for much much cheaper (+/- $500 less)
Desktop Computers » APMP266QC3 » Apple Mac Pro Desktop Computer Workstation (Early 2009)
(I don't know why they call it a workstation ?)
They say all our products are new, not refurbished
It's the same as the one seen on J&R, Amazon, etc. but what bothers me is that the Mfr# is different. [APMP266QC3] when everywhere else, including Apple store, it is MB871LL/A
I'm wondering if there's something fishy here ?

First a clarification: After reading the May 2009 issue of MacWorld (pg 50) I decided to buy the Apple Mac Pro Desktop 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Quad, 3GB
I find out that this model is known as Mfr. Part # MB871LL/A
So if I see a Mfr#Z0G8-0002 (see below) I'm wondering what it is.
The store that I'm talking is not B&H, it's on the other side of the country. They sell a 3GB and a 6 GB.
they sell a 3GB computer with # [APMP266QC3] which seems now to be a B&H stock # (No information on Mfr#)
They have also a 6GB and it has the APMP266QC6GB and
Mfr#Z0G8-0002 also with $500 less than anywhere else.
Both these number can be seen in B&H
And that's my question: Mfr#Z0G8-0002 ? (not sure what is 0002)
A completely different number just because 6GB instead of 3GB and everything else is the same ? That would be stupid. Usually it would just have one digit different at the end.
When I put that number in the Apple page it said no result found. (but that could be because they stop selling it ?) If you google it will show results.
    I google both ZOG8-3GB and Z0G8-6GB
    http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=Z0G8-6GB)&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8
    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=safari&rls=en&q=Z0G8-3GB%29&btnG=Searc h
    or
    http://www.epinions.com/MacDesktops--price_range_20006000
The first one compare to the 4th one. Ignore the stores. I'm not buying from them. I just want to show both computer on the same page.
Again, they have a different manuf. number. Is it just because it's 6GB instead of 3GB ?
So a store in the West, with no affiliation that I know with B&H in New York, sells a computer with a BH stock number ?
I know the saying of "if it's too good.."
I checked with the BBB there's no complaints about this company.
