Short cut on keyboard with thinkpad x100e

i am not a IT minded person. I accidentally push my backspace for longer than it should and i found out that second function of this backspace key is like the old T or X series keyboard's back webpage. Does anyone know where i can find all the shortcut on my thinkpad x100e.

I'm not sure there is a specific document detailing shortcuts for the x100e but I am aware of some general keyboard shortcuts:
F11 makes web browser full screen (IE, Firefox, Chrome)
F5 Refreshes current webpage.
Control & F find on current page (most applications)
Control + or - zooms in and out (also can be done with mousewheel and Control if you're using one)
FN & F7 external monitor
FN & Space enlarges view to read fine text (press again to disable)
FN & Delete or Home Changes screen brightness
FN & F8 UltraNav Settings
Some of these are common among many different computers and there are many I didn't include that are well know such as Control X, Control C and Control V (Cut, Copy and Paste)

Creating a Windows 7 OS desktop short cut for gmail with Firefox as browser, not internet explorer

I have an HP laptop that originally had Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit OS. I recently upgraded to Windows 7 64-bit OS. I want to generate a desktop shortcut for gmail that uses Firefox as the browser not internet explorer (8). If I use IE 8 as the brower and enter in gmail.com, gmail opens. I can right click on that page and create a gmail desktop short cut with IE 8 as the browser. If I try the same steps using Firefox as the opened browser, I can't create a desktop short cut by right clicking...it is not an option. I can't make Firefox my default browser for everything as my work programs/shortcuts require IE. Again, how do I create a direct gmail desktop shortcut that uses Firefox as the browser, not IE 8, when IE 8 has to be the default browser?

You could create a shortcut to open Firefox with a specific site using a command line argument.
You can copy the shortcut that you use to open Firefox, then right-click on it and choose '''Properties'''. On the shortcut tab, you will see the target, it will look something like this:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"
You can add gmail.com to this shortcut so it looks like this:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" gmail.com

I desperately need "mouse right click " shortcut on my keyboard, I am soo use it....
May I know how can i get on my keyboard ?
all other leading brands has this shorcut key on their laptop's keyoard ! I am really shocked Thinkpad series doesn't have this,
is there a way to Remap ???

Try hitting shift and F10 at the same time is how you right click.

Keyboard short cut not working in iOS 6 on iPhone

I just tried adding a new keyboard short cut on my iPhone 4S with iOS 6 and the short cut will not stay on the phone. I can enter it and it is added to the list of short cuts until I go back one screen, then the shor cut disappears. This worked fine under iOS 5 and still works fine on my iOS5 iPod Touch. Any ideas how to fix this?

I have an iPhone 4 with current iOS.
I've noticed this over the past few months. I always notice it on the FB app. My short cuts stop working. I will check email or note. I figured restarting the phone would fix it.
Here's the thing. Obviously I use FB a lot, but this short cut issues never happens in text messages, Whatsapp, or email. Always with FB.
In fact I noticed that I get sluggish typing performance typing using the FB app whether I use the keyboard short cuts or not.
Just wondering if this common among iPhone 4 users.

Short cut key definitions and symbols I cannot find on keyboard.

Short cut key definitions, In the window drop down menu there is a short cut symbol for the EQ and others that I simply don't understand or see on my keyboard. My question is this, how do I make this shortcut work? The symbol in front of the command symbol.

The option+command+E is represented as the ⌥⌘E symbolism, and by pressing those keys, will show the Equalizer.
Reference the OS X keyboard shortcut guide for additional symbol information. Apple has placed the ⌘ symbol on the command key for a long time, but does not do this with other symbols for shift, control, option, and caps lock.

Short cuts under text in keyboard don´t work anymore.

I use short cuts like for example: sc for sincerely. I did this under system preferences, then keyboard, then text. I add the short cuts there, make the little hooks and it worked. It still works with my Mac book but it does not work with my I-Mac anymore. I have no idea what to do. Anyone has an idea and some experience with this? Thank you very much!

Which OS are you running on both machines? Mavericks removed the shortcuts and you have to manually restore them.

Keyboard short-cut for Restart and Shutdown?

Since recent keyboards and Mac OS X doesnt have keyboard short-cuts for Shutdown and Restart, is it possible to create new ones for these functions?
Also, why doesnt Mac OS X have these anymore (such as when it had the keyboard with that button you hit to bring up dialog box to shutdown, restart, etc).. that's what I'm looking for...
As for the reason I want this.. sometimes my display goes blank and I can't see anything and hence since you cant see the screen to mouse over to restart, etc... if I could hit a keyboard combo to bring up the restart dialog box and I then hit Enter, it would execute that action...

Keyboard short cut to lock keyboard keys

I know there is a short cut on the keyboard to lock the keys so you can dust or not have someone or an animal accidently activate them. It has something to do with hitting to keys on the keyboard or hitting one of the keys 5 times in a row. I just cannot remember what it is right now.

I guess I could have elaborated more. Shown on that preference panel is the default setting, that are turned off by default. Clicking on the Keyboard Shortcuts link takes you to this window
You can see that you can use a key combination to step thru the list of activated input languages. Backwards= CommandSpace, Forwards=OptionCommandSpace. But when you check to activate them you will see that there is a conflict with Spotlight. You cannot customize these shortcuts, so you have to pick either Spotlight or Text Input Source.

I downloaded both PDFs too and you're right they both say Keyboard Shortcuts for Mac at the top. However the shortcuts listed on each document are different. On the correct Mac shortcuts you'll see some shortcuts with Command and Option, whereas on the Windows shortcuts (which currently say Mac at the top) you'll see Control and Alt on some of the shortcuts.
It's just a typo in the heading of the Windows shortcut PDF.

Keyboard short cut problems

I updated my Mac and everything was fine until i had to restart it. My Photoshop's keyboard short cut became all random like this:
I tried restarting my computer again but it has not changes. The most weird part is that when i tried to change the short-cuts, it won't work even though i clicked on accept and "ok". Is there a way i can turn this back? It wasn't like this when i first got this back at November.

InCopy Paragraph Style Keyboard Short cut errors

I am using CS 6 and have found the following in InCopy:
I create short cuts for my paragraph and character styles on my Mac OS. For example "CMD" + "1" sets Paragraph style to "Intoduction."
I open the file on my PC also running InCopy CS 6 instead of the keyboard short cuts becoming "CTRL" + "1" for paragraph style "Introduction" as happens with InDesign they keyboard short cuts become something seemingly random, in may case "CTRL" + "S"
As InCopy doesn't support non-numeric characters for keyboard shortcuts these short cuts no longer work. I have tried the same process using InDesign files and here the keyboard short cuts went from "CMD" + "1" for the paragraph style "Introduction" to "CTRL" + "1." Is this a known issue or have I made a mistake along the way?

Keyboard Short cuts missing

I recently installed CS4 Production Premium on a new computer runing Vista 64 Home Edition. When I call up Premiere the program seems to run alright but I have no Keyboard Short cuts.

First as some one new to the forums I’d like say how impressed I am with how quickly people responded to my question. Thank you.
There were two recommendations, one to reinstall PP and the other suggested this wouldn’t work and said I would have to uninstall CS4 and than install fresh. In the interest of science I decided I would try to do a reinstall first, if that didn’t work, I could always do a complete uninstall/install later.
In brief the reinstall seems to have worked and successfully restored key board short cuts.
For those interested in the details.
The first reinstall produced a BSD, followed by a reboot that ended with operating system not found.
Second attempt to reinstall seems successful
During the reinstall that disc progress report jumped to disk 3 although I hadn’t changed discs.
After 13 minutes the install program asked for disc 2
Disc progress lists disc 4 of 5
Overall progress 79%
11 minutes later installer asks for disc 3
Disc progress reports disc 5 of 5
Over all progress 95%
8 minutes later list of successfully installed components.
I mention the times because the total time to reinstall PP was 32 minutes. This seems like a long time. Perhaps this is normal and indicative of nothing.
I don't know if the discrepancy between the disc label and the intall progress report is of any significance.
If it is important I am working on a Prostar laptop with an i7 2.93 GHz CPU and 6 Gbs Ram. Vista home 64 bit.

Keyboard short-cuts and comment-enabled PDF's

I'm running AR7.0.9 under SuSE 10.1 and I have the following problem when working with a comment-enabled document, such as the JavaScript reference manual. Once I've used the highlighting tool, whose keyboard short-cut is U, I find that I can no longer enter the letter U when composing a note. Similarly, once I've added an attachment, whose keyboard short-cut is J,
I can no longer enter J into a note. Is this a known problem?
Or is there something wrong with my setup?

Keyboard not storing short cuts and phrases anymore in iOS7?

I updated to iOS7 and realised that the keybord shortcuts that I used to have in my iOS6 no longer work on the iOS7, Even if I did try to enter a shortcut manually by going into the keyboard section in the settings, it does not store the short cut. It can get really annoying once you have gotten used to the short cuts while texting and I happen to text a lot. Any of you guys have a solution for me?

Hey Mani, I also have this issue but with my I-Mac since I updated to Mavericks. And it also freaks me out... But with my Mac Book and I Phone it still works under IOS7.. strange.. So far no one responded.. So I will see if there is a solution for this.

Apple, why did you remove keyboard short cuts for EQ in v7?

command-1 for main window
command-2 for equalizer!
that eq window short cut was cruitial(for me at least) when I'm doing parties and I need fast access to the EQ
bad move - apple programmers, what were you guys thinking?

Apple changed the commands and they are now used for video.
You can program it back in with different keyboard commands.
Close iTunes. Go to System Preferences>Hareware>Keyboard & Mouse>Keyboard Shortcuts.
