Short question about Zen Mi

Is it possible to display my Mp3's in a folder structure with the Zen Micro
so that i can chose songs or albums like in Windows Explorer?

Yes, use Creative Media Source Organizer, you can sort by Album, Artist, Genre, etc. Also you can browse in Windows Explorer if that works better for you.

  • Short question about the nano controls

    Hi. I'm probably going to buy a 4Gb nano today, but first I'd like to ask a short question about the << >> buttons on the click wheel.
    I read in a forum that the << & >> buttons are actually 'skip' buttons (only used to play the previous or next song respectively), and that it's impossible to rewind or fast-forward within the track you're listening to. This is extremely important for me as I have several 2-3 hours mp3, and I need to be able to access different parts of the file quickly (eg. not having to actually wait 1 hour to listen to my favorite part). I found this to be an important feature, and I can't believe Apple hasn't thought about it.
    Anyway, I've never used an iPod, that's why this question may sound plain stupid.
    Thanks for you replies!

    The iPod fast charges to about 80% and then trickle charges the rest of the way to prevent damaging the battery/iPod. A full charge takes more than an hour or two though the battery indicator will show full. The best way to tell if a full charge has occurred is to unmount the iPod from the computer but keep it connected. The screen will show an animation of a battery. When the animation stops the battery is fully charged.
    Also, as your battery discharges the indicator will eventually show red indicating the battery is about to run out...in an hour or two. After you've owned your iPod for a couple months you'll figure out how much time you have left when the indicator turns red - it depends on a number of factors including play volume, equalizer use, etc. In real world use I'm getting over 11 hours.
    The headphones are...average. If they didn't hurt my ears I'd find them acceptable for my pop music but not so acceptable for acoustic and symphonic nor music with booming bass - because they don't boom the bass.
    I encode the majority of my music at 256 AAC and I've noticed no distortion caused by the EQ. This, plus your complaint about the earphones, leads me to think perhaps you got a bum set of phones. Borrow a pair from someone else and see what happens.

  • Short questions about the focused item

    Hi,
    Short questions about the focused item:
    - How can I check if a specific item has the focus?
    - How can I check in my code which arbitrary item on my form has the focus?
    I need to know this because I have a checkbox and when it become unchecked, I disable an item on my form. But when this item has the focus, disabling this item will fail. Does anyone knows a solution for this problem?
    Greetz
    Eddy

    Hi Eddy!
    I suppose you should make an "event trigger" for the event "et_GOT_FOCUS" in your ItemEvent-handler and store there the item, which initiate that event. It can be like following:
    SBOApp_ItemEvent(FormUID, pVal, BubbleEvent)
    if (pVal.EventType == SAPbouiCOM.BoEventTypes.et_GOT_FOCUS)
       strCurrItemInFocus = pVal.ItemUID;
    do someth..
    if (strCurrItemInFocus == "chbxMyCheckbox1")
       // disabling this item will fail
    else
       // disable an item on my form
    I hope it helps..

  • A Few Questions About Zen MX . . .

    I bought a Sandisk Sansa Fuze in the summer of 2008, and have had it replaced twice due to it failing completely. So, I'm on my third, and I considered the Zen MX. So, I have a few questions . . .
    1. Why is it cheaper than the Zen?
    2. Is it stable and not glitchy?
    3. Will it last a long time? You know, 60 years or so (I'm kidding, although that would be nice.)
    4. This one's not really inportant, but it would be nice - Does it have gapless playback?
    I would appriciate these questions answered.

    Has fewer compatible codecsCan only transfer videos coverted with the Creative software that come on the install cd.,Don't know how long it will last. the type of battery tends to go for about 3yrs.From the posts I see can behave badlymostly due to the software. No gapless playback. No Creative player has that. If I were wanting a player like it I would get the original ZEN. In my opinoin the best video/music player Creative has ever made is the Zen VM. You can still find them on Ebay or whenever Creative puts up the Refurbished one. I have several. Many I have purchased & rehab myself.(very easy to do) You can install larger dri'ves( I have a 40GB) there is a 80GB slim dri've that fits. This seller has refurbed players & gives a warranty.http://stores.shop.ebay.com/Gordons-...e__W0QQ_armrsZ

  • A few questions about zen to

    Hi, I would like to know some little things abot the zen touche's menu options.
    When you are in the main menu: you select music library-->artists--> u2 (for example, it could be any artist)- do you have the option to see all the tracks of the artist, such as an option VIEW ALL , or you have to go to each album of the artist and explore the albums one by one to find a title. When yes, can you go back to the albums via an option VIEW ALBUMS?
    Second, when you listening to a title, do you have the option to see all the albums of the artist via an otion LOOK UP ARTIST or may be VIEW ALBUMS, or you have to go to the options menu and select VIEW INFO and then may be LOOK ALBUMS.
    I am asking these questions because These very convenient options are on the ZEN MICRO. I am getting soon a TOUCH and I would like to have those on the TOUCH too.
    And one last thing: I am almost sure about it, but how can you find a track on the player whwn I do not know the firts letter of the name of the track but I know some other parts or words or preposition in the name of the track. This feasture is called FIND or SEARCH KEYWORD on the MICRO, but I think it is not on the TOUCH.
    Thank you for your Information.

    when you are using the player itself the only search feature is to go to the first letter of the song you know. As for on the computer you can probably search the way that you want to. If I were you I would just try to remember the names of the songs or the artist.
    Good Luck

  • Some quick questions about Zen Microph

    Hello,
    I just received my Zen 8GB Microphoto today after recently purchasing it and I love it so far, but I have a couple questions.
    . The pdf manual that came with the installation disc makes it clear that you shouldn't jog with the Zen Micro since continuous shocks aren't good for it. This is a bit of a shock (no pun intended) for me since I planned to use this quite a bit while running, and I know that micro-dri've MP3 players are susceptible to shock which results in skipping, but this seems a bit extreme. Is this statement just "extra-precautionary" so Creative can say to you, "I told you so" just in case it breaks, or has anyone actually have one of these things break pretty quickly from jogging with it's
    2. This might be a stupid question but according again to the pdf manual you have to be using the supplied headphones to scan for radio stations as well as recording radio stations while listening to them, but nothing was mentioned about simply listening to FM radio. Will I be able to use the FM radio feature without using the headphones that came with my Zen Photo. I'd test but I haven't had a lot of time to mess with it yet and it's still charging, but I would really hate to have to not use my Shure E3cs in order to be able to use the FM radio.

  • Power problems and a question about Zen support respo

    I have a Zen Micro 8gb player and unfortunately I can now be added to the list of users with Battery/charging issues. I've tried all the troubleshooting steps I can find here and none resolved my problem. Resetting does not help, nor does charging via USB/AC Adapter, I've tried switching adapters, etc. I've never had this issue before.
    The problem started a few days ago when I plugged my Zen in like normal to charge - it was completely dead - and after several few hours of charging, I was still unable to turn my device on. I plug the charger in and the device does recognize it, it powers on and I get the blue light and "Creative" logo on the screen. Then the little battery icon flashes between the green "charging" icon and the red "empty battery" icon. It will go on like this for hours. Normally it would only take an hour or two to charge but now I can leave it charging for an entire day then it goes dead right after I unplug it.
    My question is - based on user experience here - whether it's probably my battery or my device that is defecti've. This was a gift and I'm sure it is out of warranty, not that I'd be able to get the receipt even if it was. I've already emailed customer care. I'm just wondering what people's general overall experience has been with support and if it's even worth trying to go through the support channels to get it fixed. Thanks in advance.
    Kristal?

    I am having the same problems....only I can't even get mine to come on. I have only had this thing for like 5 months.....if I would have known I was gonna have this many problems.... I would have went with another brand. And it would really help if I could get someone to give me a straight answer when I call! I am SOSOSO irritated!!

  • Question about Zen Micro's Hard Drive (not negati

    My brother keeps telling me that the Zen Micro does not have a real hard dri've or anything like his Ipod, which I highly debate because I know it's not true. Can anyone tell me what really is inside the Micro so that I can make him believe me? I know that it's something from Seagate.Message Edited by rmccabe96 on 06-06-2005 2:9 AM

    The Micro and all the current 4, 5 and 6 gig players (including iPOD mini use " hard dri'ves.
    These are about the same dri'ves as used in CF type micro-dri'ves.
    The larger players Current 0 Gig and up use the smaller lap top sized dri'ves.
    I think they are .8" diameter disks.

  • Few questions about Zen V p

    okay i just got this mp3 player and have a few questions...
    - where is the "selected music" section, i cant find the folder.
    - how do you get the music to transfer onto your player in track order instead of abc order.

    I tried the selected music folder. i pressed down in now playing (held it down) and nothing happened. its just frustrating to find all the music in the selected folder when it doesnt have a list of playists or albums. i used to have a jukebox zen extra so im used to their selected music folder...is that the same type of folder on this player?
    i did rip all my cds and they go in abc order when i rip them. i was wondering if there is an option on the creative organizer that makes them transfer in track number order.
    also another question...
    how do you edit the album art that shows up in the "now playing" section? i found that many albums dont have album art (even though they did on windows media player) or that some had album art of the wrong cd. so is there any way to correct these mistakes?

  • Some questions about Zen Micro before to buy

    Hi all, i'm thinking to buy a Zen Micro mp3 player, so i'm searching for the Web reviews and news about the Micro to understand if it is good for me, because about 250 euro is an important money amuont to spend for me.
    And now i have 2 doubts:
    ) I have read that firmware "ZenMicro_PCFW_L4_2_00_2_MTP.exe" can freeze the Micro or to make Windows Xp does not recognise it. Is it real?
    2) Will Zen Micro support the "mp3 pro" format in future firmware updates? It think "mp3 pro" is fantastic and has much more audio quality than wma o normal mp3 in very less space on disk.
    Thanks to all people who will answer to me, excuse me for my imperfect english_
    archigius

    Archigius,
    I have installed the version 2 firmware on several players and have yet to have run into any problems. I know there are people who have experienced them, but I think that the probability of this is low. Here are some suggestions on making sure it will work:
    ) Disable your antivirus before running the update. This really applies to all dri've/firmware updates.
    2) Turn off all of your player related software.
    3) Make sure you have Windows Media Player 0 and SP or higher installed
    This is all you should have to do to make sure things go well.

  • Question about ZEN 4 imaging

    We are using ZENWorks 4 imaging (with IR5) and have been using the documents about automating the imaging process. The question that I have is when the workstation it reimaged and reboots, ZENWorks agent comes up with the windows that indicates that it is making changes to the computer and states not to log in till the machine reboots. I believe it is taking the ZIS information and putting this information back into the workstation. (workstation name etc). On windows 2000 the machine reboots without any problems when this process is complete. With Windows XP the machine does not seem to reboot. If the workstation is manually rebooted everything works fine. I have found that if the workstation is left for about 10 minutes, it will actually reboot on its own. Is there a way to have this reboot occur more quickly?

    Didn't know that this could be done. Where do I make those changes.
    Thanks.

    yes... you could disable the feature that you are directly able to login
    without pressing ctrl-alt-del
    on the other side I just had wks this week who rebooted itself without this
    directly...

    Sorry, I've forgot to mention - but I think "repo-add" is more elegant solution. Personaly, I use a script which I call "auri" based on "aur-install", too. It also builds packages.

  • Short question about upgrading

    I have CS2 today and im about to upgrade to CS4. I have my original media left but ive lost my serial number. Am I still able to upgrade?

    Usuallly, an upgrading installer does not requre the previous version's serial number.
    If you upgrade the previous version installed on your computer, upgrading installer will automatically validate the previous version and complete the installation without requring previous version's serial number.
    If you install the upgrade version on the computer where previous version has not been installed, upgrading installer will prompt you to insert the previous version's installation media for validation and complete the installation without requiring previous version's serial number.
    But recent Adobe application's upgrading installer will prompts you to enter the serial number of your previous version, so you need to find out your previous application's serial number.

  • Short question about networking, Threads and  web services..

    Lets say I got 2 classes, Midlet A and Thread B.
    I created Thread B because web services (jsr-172) uses networking and It has to be done in a separate thread other then the Midlet A.
    So, in Thread B, I have the run(), where I do all my stuff, and some getSomething() methods.
    I need to have run() complete before calling getSomething(), so I used something like this in Midlet A:
    while(true){
        if(b.isAlive())
            getSomething();
    }Problem is, Thread B only runs to completion when I don't call b.isAlive(). (I know from System.out.println I placed in it) When I do use any methods like wait() or join() or isAlive(), Thread B stops at the web service call.
    I really don't understand what's the problem. I've tried various ways to only call getSomething() when the thread finishes running, but all of them made my WTK emulator hang at the part where it asks for permission to access the network.
    If I don't use getSomething(), which is the purpose of starting the thread in the first place, it runs fine in the emulator and doesn't hang anywhere. Oh the irony.

    Bump!
    Anyone got even half a clue what's wrong? =O
    Hmm. I think that having the midlet wait for the thread causes the midlet to hang because the thread will then wait for the midlet for permission to access the network, but the midlet is waiting for the thread to finish it's code. Damn.
