Shortcut for Inserting Smileys?

Is there any way I can assign a keyboard shortcut for inserting smileys? Dragging the mouse over, clicking the menu, and choosing the smiley gets a little tedious. Is this possible? Thanks.

Yeah, I noticed that (though thanks very much for pointing it out because I'd forgotten it). I guess I'm more interested in a faster way to insert these. I know, when I used to use AIM, from AOL, typing Ctrl-1 would produce one particular smiley and such was the case with cntrl and the 2-9 keys. This made it very easy to insert them quickly. I was just wondering if that was possible in Ichat, since Command-1 is dedicated to showing or hiding the main ichat screen. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

  • Shortcut for inserting a library item?

    Dear Dreamweaver people,
i am busy inserting a library item (some html that creates a
form) in about 400 pages. Automating this task is probably to
complicated for me, but, hitting this insert button is tyresome as
well. Is there any shortcut possible for this button? I cannot find
a possibility in the editing shortcuts panel.

I wouldn't recommend this. You would be MUCH better off using
    server-side
includes instead of a Library item (I can't find a compelling
    reason to ever
    use Library items, honestly).

  • CNTRL D shortcut for inserting transition only works intermittently

I put a clip on the work timeline, cut it in places and position the ends of clips abutting, place the cursor between them and select one or both clips. Control D will work for about 3 events then it stops. Reseting shortcuts to factory does nothing. Clearing the shortcut and re-establishing it does nothing. Shutting down the application and restarting does nothing. The short cut will work 3 or 4 times on an inital instance of Premiere Pro after a fresh system start and then punks out. This is true on the SAME clip, between cuts within the body of the clip, so it isn't about being at the physical end of a clip or not or one type of clip being different from another. AND this is in a sequence with a single layer, no fancy nothin'.
BTW, the font being displayed in Chrom, FF, and IE on this forum is absolutely counterproductive to reading anything. It looks like it's been chewed by aphids.

Check to make sure the track is targeted, and that you're not inadvertantly un-targeting it.

  • Can you create a keyboard shortcut to insert a css comment (/*  */)in DW?

    hello DW knowers!
When writing code i like to use shortcuts for inserting commands.
For instance, to insert a html comment, i created a shortcut in the panel for creating shortcuts (you can do this finding in the shortcuts panel the 'insert' option and then find 'comment').
however, i did not find a way to create this for a css comment (/*   */) and i find myself forced to use the coding toolbar to insert this.
I would really like to find a way to avoid this. Ofcoarse i can still type it in manually, or use the css rules panel to temporarely  deactivate a rule, but selecting a piece of code and then typing a shortcut would be much easier.
Otherwise a great idea for the next upgrade of DW?
thanks for an answer, if there is a possibility

I use a Logitech G19 keyboard, which allows you to create one keypress shortcuts for virtually any keypress sequence. It has ten extra keys on the left side of the keyboard which you can program however you please (a total of 30 shortcuts). This particular keyboard is kind of expensive ($200) but there are other less expensive keyboards that offer similar capabilities. Think how many times a day you type <p> or how about <a href= . With a keyboard like this, you can do it in one keypress.

  • What is the keyboard shortcut for extract page?

There used to be a series of keyboard shortcuts for page manipulation (and other) - using acrobat 9 till recently. Now new to Acrobat XI Pro (Windows 8.1). I can see the shortcuts for insert & delete page but not for extract page (and other). Am I missing something? The keyboard shortcuts are a must for speed and a healthy right wrist.
    Thank-you for your time.

There isn't a direct way of doing it, but you can "hack" it using a script. Create a folder-level script with this code:
app.addMenuItem({cName: "MyExtractPages", cUser: "E&xtract Pages", cParent: "Edit",
        cExec: "app.execMenuItem(\"ExtractPages\");", cEnable: "event.rc = (event.target!=null)"});
This will add a new menu item to the Edit menu which you could access using the following keyboard shortcut: Alt+E, X

  • SMS - Sending to numbers not in your address book and inserting smiley faces

    Hi
I'm new to the world of Blackberry and sorry if this has been posted elsewhere - I've trawled through and can't find anything similiar.
When composing SMS messages, I can only send to those people who are in my address book as the address book automatically opens when you select compose SMS.
Obviously there are times when you need to text to numbers not in your address book so how do you do it?
So far the only solution I have got is to add numbers to my address book and then delete them.  Surely there must be a way you can just enter the number manually when you need to?
Secondly is there a shortcut on the Blackberry Pearl to insert smiley faces in SMS messages without entering :-) manually?
    Thanks for your help
    Trish
    I love my Blackberry

You right. I misread. Hitting the SYM key is only for messenger, not for SMS. I didn't anyway to insert emoticons into an SMS message

  • How do I setup a keyboard shortcut for an item in the Services menu?

In every Application, under the application menu is a "Services" folder. I would like to be able to setup a keyboard shortcut for one of these services (namely Skype).
I am a heavy user of the "Services > Skype > Call" command and I would love to have a keyboard shortcut for it.
I went to System Preferences > Keyboard & Mouse > Keyboard Shortcuts, clicked on the plus sign to create a new shortcut (all applications) and entered "Services…Skype…Call" and assigned it to a keyboard command (shift-F1).
It doesn't work. Any clue as to what I am doing wrong?

    Hi
Also - have a look at the reply I gave at the link below (sorry - don't know how to insert proper links here).
May be of interest, maybe not.

  • Keyboard Shortcut for bullets (Command-Shift-L) no longer works

    Hey Guys,
It seems so odd and I find it so irritating that I have been using this keyboard shortcut which is Command-Shift-L for bullets in Outlook, Notes and almost any word processing applications. All of a sudden this seems to have gone and now replaced by a Google Search. I tried researching a lot on the internet and found many articles which confirmed that this was indeed a keyboard shortcut but I couldnt find even one which could tell me what happened to it and how to make it work again. I've got so used to this shortcut because my work involves mainly around drafting emails and documents.
I have Macbook Pro Retina 13inch 2013 model & running Mac OSX 10.9.4 OS.
Now I did find one website link which told me how to disable the Safari trigger for this shortcut and I was successful in removing that shortcut. But I am stuck at the point where it's just blank. So now when I press these keys, nothing happens because no shortcut is set to it. I am moving in circles and would really appreciate if anyone can help.
P.S I've already gone through many links which say create paragraphs, this and blah blah but sorry I am not interested in that....Some links also say that Option + 8 key works for the bullets but that doesnt work for me either. However, I dont want that too. I would want the original shortcut which was there and would really appreciate if someone can tell me how to get it back or even configure it back to the way it was. Sorry for being rude but I am just frustrated with the long hours I have spent in fixing this silly issue and don't want the similar answers which I have already come across on the other links. Your help is much appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Thanks for your reply. I can't seem to find the bullets option in Shortcuts. Could you give me more details on how to make that happen.
There is no bullets option in Shortcuts.  Defining shortcuts works by binding menu items in an application to a key combination. You have to find the name of a menu item in the application   you are using.
For example in "Notes" is a menu "Format > Lists > Insert Bulleted List"
To bind it to the shortcut "⇧⌘L" open the Keyboard System Preferences > Shorttcuts tab and press "+" to add an application shortcut.
Type the name of the menu item "Insert Bulleted List" and enter the key combination.
This will work in "Notes", but you have to identify the names of menu items that will produce bullets  in your other applications, if you want to add the shortcut for them.

  • Shortcut for going to beginning or end of a line in document

As a previous pc user (but no more! yeah! I love my iMac!) I used to be able to hit home or end to go to the beginning or end of line on the document. Doing it with my iMac actually moves me to the end or beginning of the whole document. What is the shortcut for just wanting to go to the beginning or end of the line on a document?
    Thanks for your help...
    Steve

    Here's a few more, Steve.
option-up arrow moves you to the beginning of the current paragraph; option-down arrow to the end of the current paragraph.
Adding Shift to any of the command-arrow or option-arrow combinations will select the text that the insertion point moves over.
So to select a word, you could press option-left arrow then shift-option right arrow.
To select a whole line press command-right arrow then shift-command-left arrow.
    And to select a paragraph...

    Barry

  • Is it possible to create new shortcuts for pages esp footnote

    Hi
Is it possible to create shortcuts in Pages? Hidden preferences?

Martin, it's possible to create shortcuts for any menu item in any OS X application. You do this by going to the System Preferences, in the Keyboard and Mouse pane, under the Keyboard Shortcuts tab. See this posting for more details.
This is an extremely powerful feature of OS X, and it is unfortunate that is it not better known.

  • Assign keyboard shortcuts for special characters.

I am using Microsoft Word 08 and taking a Latin course. I want to be able to make a keyboard shortcut to insert the long symbols over vowel: Ā Ē Ī Ō Ū ā ē ī ō ū. When I go to Insert then Symbol none of these show up on the pallet. As of now I have to copy and paste every vowel individually from the save file in which it is currently written.

I've already checked out that list, but it doesn't include the ones I'm looking for.
Go to system prefs/international/input menu and check the box for US Extended, plus the box for "show input menu in Finder." Then select US Extended in the "flag" menu at the top right of the Finder.
The characters you need can then be made by typing Option/alt + a, followed by the base character. Some fonts may work better than others.

  • Keyboard Shortcut for comments

I have a question and something to share.
Turns out it's pretty easy to add a keyboard shortcut for
adding ColdFusion comments (mostly so that you don't have to click
on the comment dropdown and select the ColdFusion one, that's 2
clicks). You can add a keyboard shortcut to that Insert Comment
command. But by default it inserts HTML comments. So if you want it
to do something different you can modify this file: C:\Program
    Files\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver
    CS4\configuration\Objects\Text\Comment.js
The bad news is, I can't find a way to add a shortcut to
Remove Comment. Does anyone know how to do that?

    Jon
Not that I know of but you can make your own keyboard shortcuts for anything that is in a menu somewhere:
+System Preferences > Hardware > Keyboard & Mouse > Keyboard Shortcuts > Application Keyboard Shortcuts > All Applications > click the little plus sign under the window > Application: > Other > browse to Applications/iWork/Pages > Menu Title > Show Comments (type exactly including U&lc) > hit cmd shift c (or whatever you want)+
Since the shortcut works on the literal text, it will not toggle on and off. You will have to have another shortcut for +Hide Comments.+

  • Keyboard shortcut for cropping (Acrobat XI)

Hi. I have a minor question about the cropping feature in Acrobat XI.
In the previous version (X), the keyboard shortcut for crooping PDF pages is Ctrl+Shift+T. However, when I try this combination in the new XI version, it brings up a dialog asking me "where to insert a blank page." According to the help PDF file on Adobe, however, this latter feature should have the shortcut of Ctrl+Shift+Q.
I'm currently using the Chinese - Traditional language version of Acrobat, and the help PDF file I referred to above is also the version in this language. I'm not sure if it occurs in other versions, such as the English language, but I do not expect keyboard shorcuts like this to be altered.
Just something to blame: I really miss the old interface (prior to & including 9), where all the features are accessible on the drop-down menus above. That's also where I learnt the shourcuts - because they follow the titles of the items. It's kind of annoying if I have to press the "crop" button on the right panel and double-click on the page to bring up the dialog. I'm more used to cropping pages by entering edges manually, so that all the pages are exactly the same size. Now I cannot even call up the dialog directly with the supposed-to-be keyboard shortcut in XI.
    Sincerely,
    Ryan

    Hi Dan,
"Save a Copy" is Adobe Reader.
It is not associated with Acrobat Professional's "File" drop-down.
