Shortcut for switching / tabbing between open documents?

Hi. In Mac OS in general, you can switch between open documents or windows in the same program via the shortcut COMMANDO + >. Like for instance different windows in Firefox. But in Numbers and Pages, this means zoom in or out.
Does anybody know a shortcut to switch / tab between the open documents in Numbers and Pages?
I have searched google, here and e-mailed for help and found nothing.
Thank you!

Hello Jerry.
There ARE keyboards like that:
http://www.ergoblog.com/2006/09/keyboardwithe.html
http://www.sspdirect.com/large-letter-keyboard.html
You see, just google for "Large letter keyboard" and maybe add Mac. But ones without Mac symbols works just as fine, you just have to learn which key is which.
Seems there is no solution to my tilde-problem...
Thank you my french friend, for the understandning of the swedish problem
Regards,
Kip

  • Shortcut for switching Tabs

    There used to be a shortcut in Safari for moving between tabs. I don't see that anymore. Seems like the only way to do it is to click the tab you want. Is that right?

    Perfect. That was it. Couldn't find it anywhere in the documentation.
    Thanks

  • Shortcut for switching tabs not working

    Hi All,
    I set up a keyboard shortcutto flip back and forth through my tabs in safari ( apple <- or apple -> ) - however they only work when the tab is empty.
    If i have a web page open in a tab, then when i press my shortcut, it goes 'back' or 'forwards' in the page.
    Any ideas on how i can stop this so i can cycle through my tabs as normal?
    Thanks

    Just ran it on a couple of open sequences, works precisely as expected. You must, of course, have at least one track designated with the thrice-cursed AutoSelect doodads.

  • Keyboard shortcut for switching between documents?

  • Shortcut for "Switch to Previous Document" to work in Dreamweaver cs6

    Hi´
    I cant get the shortcut for "Switch to Previous Document" to work.
    Im working on a mac.
    Can anybody help me

    My "suggestion" (it's not a suggestion by the way - that's what DW says in the menu bar Window > Next Document/Previous Document) is the same as Cmd-Shift-tilde(~). ~ key is ` key.
    This key combination has not been changed as far as I remember. It's the same in CS5 (ctrl + tab does nothing by the way).
    Are you using German keyboard and German DW? What does it say in the menu bar Window > Next Document/Previous Document (in German equivalent obviously )

  • Keyboard shortcut for switching between orthogonal views?

    I know that F10, F11, F12 toggle between the custom views, but is there a shortcut or a way to create the shortcut for switching between the different orthogonal views?  What's the easiest way to switch between top and left views?
    Thank you for your time and help!

  • Toggle between open documents?

    Hi all,
    Is there a keyboard shortcut (or way to create a custom
    shortcut) for toggling between open documents in DW? What I'm
    talking about is something similar to Alt-Tab in Windows. When I'm
    working on coding using the keyboard it would be awfully nice to
    quickly toggle to another open file rather than reaching for the
    mouse every time.
    I'm hoping this is something I've just not run across yet in
    3 different upgrades of DW and not something the program can't do.
    Thanks!

    It's built in: CTRL+TAB moves left to right, and
    CTRL+SHIFT+TAB moves right to left. I think it may be CMD+` for
    Mac, but not certain.
    Unfortunately, in CS$, I've not been able to find a short cut
    to toggle between the related files in the current opened document,
    besides going the "long" route: ALT+V, holding ALT hit R twice,
    then the right arrow key and then arrowing up or down to the next
    file to switch to.

  • How can you set up a custom keyboard shortcut for Next Tab and Previous Tab?

    You can do this in Chrome because there is a top menu item for it, and OS X supports easily rebinding of keyboard shortcuts that are in the main menus.
    Is this possible in Firefox? Using a two handed shortcut to switch tabs is annoying when you want to keep one hand on the mouse!
    Thanks!

    Keyboard shortcuts
    * https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Keyboard%20shortcuts
    -> Next Tab
    * Ctrl + Tab
    * Ctrl + Page Down
    -> Previous Tab
    * Ctrl + Shift + Tab
    * Ctrl + Page Up
    Check and tell if its working.

  • E72: shortcut for switching mode ?

    I wanted to removed 'switch mode' short cut from the home screen, so that I can use some other useful shortcut there ?
    Is there any shortcut for switching mode  ?
    Thanks

    There are actually two sets of shortcuts for switching windows in Photoshop CC. One is the OS shortcut that Photoshop respects, which c.pfaffenbichler covered. The other is the older traditional Photoshop shortcut for switching windows, which on the Mac is Control-Tab or Shift-Control-Tab (that really does use the Control key on the Mac, not Command). Both ways work for me in Photoshop CC in Mavericks.
    The shortcut you mentioned, Command-< , is not a default shortcut for window switching for the US keyboard. Is your keyboard set to a different language? That might be part of the issue. Or you could try resetting your preferences (start Photoshop while holding Command-Option-Shift).

    By default Firefox opens a blank page for a new Tab, there is no setting to change that action without installing an add-on.

    Kind of cool, but I think I'd like to just be able to move them with one gesture.

  • Is there a keyboard shortcut to switch between open documents?

    Is there an easy way to switch between 2 or 3 open documents in Pages, as when trying to combine excerpts from several places into a new document?

    No, there isn't. you can't even set your own shor cut keys as you don't know what the documents will be named. Normally you can add short cuts keys but only for those menus options that already exist but your documents will change. I have searched for the answer earlier as I also want it.
    There is in the Pages Help menu an option for  Keyboard shorcuts but nothing is mentioned ther about changing document windows.

    Is there a way to switch quickly, back and forth, between open Pages documents. Similar to the "tabs" function in Safari.

    I which the help files were adapted for swedish keyboard when in swedish!!
    We can't get that because the User Guides are translated by beings which never used the application.
    They receive an English text and they must translate it in an other language.
    I'm accustomed to that for years and I would be surprised if something changes in this area.
    As far as I know, nobody in Apple France saw the localized iWork '09 before the day it was introduced.
    I was asked to search oddities *_after the delivery_*
    Some oddities available in iWork '08 French version are always here in iWork '09 and I'm not sure that they will be gone when we will get the next version.
    It was the same for AppleWorks which I beta tested two times.
    Tests where made upon the US version and all of us discovered the localized versions when they where delivered. In the Help, every examples of formulas where using the comma as parameters separators when the correct one was the semi-colon.
    For sure, it's ridiculous but it's the way foreign customers are treated by Apple.
    I'm remembering that I edited a resource dedicated to samples of functions.
    With the edited resource, Swiss users where able to use the "insert functions" feature with the separator matching their system settings.
    The problem is the same with iWork.
    The delivered French version inserts functions with semi-colons between parameters, even is the user setting is "Swiss French" which use the decimal period and require the comma as separator.
    Same behavior with Deutsch and Italian.
    But not is completely bad.
    I never succeed when I requested correct treatment of "curly quotes" in AppleWorks.
    For info, the correct structure is *_« caractères chevrons »_* (the first space and the last one are required, at least for French of France).
    I started to request them when I start using iWork '06.
    They wheren't introduced by the different updaters but, hosannah, they are available in iWork '08.
    In fact, we got only the quotes, not the required spaces.
    So I requested again the spaces.
    They wheren't introduced by the different updaters but, hosannah, they are available in iWork '09.
    I remember that I wrote to Apple that I was surprised to see that their staff of engineers appeared to be less efficient than the single developer which was delivering Bean.

  • Move resources between open documents

    Hi,
    I have multiple illy docs open in different tabs, and I am trying to establish the styles and swatches/colors for this project (which consists of four illustrations) as it goes - instead of defining it beforehand. This gives me a chance to see how the elements work together.
    Anyways - how can I easily move swatches and styles between the open documents? I know I can save the resources as a library (and then open them again in the other tab), and I know that I can also copy and paste objects between the docs (works for swatches, not for graphic styles).
    But is there no smarter way to do this... ?

    Sorry, my bad - it works with styles when one copies/drags objects between tabs...
    Having a persistant style library saved works, but only partly - if I want to modify/add styles as I go along, one has to add it to the main Graphic styles panel, and then save it as a library again, then close the library panel, and re-open it...
    I guess another way to work with this would have been to have all four illustrations that I need to do in one document, but with multiple artboards, then I would have all styles and swatches in one place.

  • Are there keyboard shortcuts for switching to desktops with fullscreen apps?

    Coming from SL, one functionality that I used a lot was keyboard shortcuts to go to different applications.
    For instance, I had assigned Mail to Space 2, iTunes to Space 3 etc.
    Then it was possible to instantly go to Mail by pressing alt-2, to iTunes with alt-3 etc.
    In Lion, it is possible to assign Applications to desktops, and use the same commands to go to these desktops. However, as soon as an application is 'fullscreened' it leaves its previous desktop, and cannot be reached with the old keyboard shortcuts.
    My question:
    is it possible to create a keyboard shortcut to switch to a desktop containing a fullscreen app?

    This is quite possible. The way to do it is with keyboard shortcuts. If you check the appropriate boxes you can use a keyboard combination of Control and the Desktop #. It makes it very easy to swtich between desktops.
