Shortcut Gone...

I created an Action, made a shortcut key combo for it via the Action Options panel.
It worked fine, right up until I made a shortcut for
Object>Path>Remove Anchor Points...
I assume this is because when I made this new shortcut it asked me to create a new shortcut set, so I did.
Now, no matter which shortcut set I use, the (still registered) shortcut for the Action doesn't work. WHY?
If I reset it, it still doesn't work. It's acting as though the Action no longer exists, but it's right there in the Actions panel, with the shortcut still set.

I've deleted the action, then "re-recorded" it (it fires a script) and then set the Function key shortcut combo again, back in The Default Shortcut set... and lost that new shortcut, for now. I'd rather keep working than try to (continuously) figure out the feeble fails and many foibles of Illustrator, for now.

FYI,
apparently this also happened with the ios7 upgrade. Per the related ios7 thread, after a manual reboot of the phone, the shortcuts reappeared. The reboot solved my problem as my keyboard shortcut settings reappeared after reboot.

I lost all my keyboard shortcuts on my iPhone 5s after upgrading to iOS 8. They still showed up on my iPad Air (iOS 8) and iMac (10.9.5). There were, however, massive sync problems, sometimes they would only flow from one device to all the others, sometimes from one device to only one of the other two, sometimes not at all.
I deleted all my shortcuts and started from scratch, deleting “~/Library/Application Support/Ubiquity”, ~/Library/Dictionaries” and “~/Library/Mobile Documents/com~apple~TextInput” from the iMac and KeyboardDomain from my iOS devices.
Rebooted everything a dozen times.
Toggled Documents & Data Sync off and on a dozen times too in all kinds of combination with rebooting and deleting the aforementioned files.
Everything always starts working and syncing fine for a very short while, but sooner or later one of my devices stops receiving new shortcuts as I re-add them.
I reboot that device and it catches up. I enter new shortcuts, and that device doesn’t get any new shortcuts. This time, a reboot doesn’t fix anything.
After using my devices for a while, I notice shortcuts are entirely gone from both the iPhone and iPad, but not from the iMac.
I even upgraded my iPhone 5s to a 6, and right off the bat it had issues with keyboard shortcut sync. I also setup my iPad as new, and same thing: right off the bat, sync issues with keyboard shortcuts.

ITunes 10.6.1: store arrows (as shortcuts) gone?

It appears that with the 10.6.1 iTunes upgrade, the little arrows that normally go to the iTunes Store are gone. For the last 5 years or so (??) I've used that wonderful tip to have them work as shortcuts to my own library (ie, i toggled the option-click behavior).
Now they appear to be gone altogether and I've found no reference to this online or in the Prefs. Can anyone confirm this? Or know a way to get them back?

Ha! Issue solved. The track not showing the arrows was a PDF in iTunes. All is well.

Upgraded from X Pro to XI, keyboard shortcuts gone?

In Acobat 9 and X, I could press Ctrl+Shift+t to go to the page modification dialog where I can eliminate whitespace, change margins, etc. That appears to now be gone. Ctrl+Shift+t now inserts pages. (HUH??? Who came up with that nonintuitive change?)
How do I get to the Print Production > Set Page Boxes panel via the keyboard? I hate using the mouse; keyboard shortcuts are infinitely faster.
It appears that in their haste to embrace touchscreen devices, Adobe is abandoning those of us who still use physical keyboards. Just because Adobe products are becoming more touch-friendly doesn't mean that Adobe should be removing standard legacy keyboard shortcuts! More importantly, if they are going to be changing/removing keyboard shortcuts, they need to implement a mechanism for customizing keyboard shortcuts.

Photoshop CS5 Shortcuts Gone Crazy

The CS5 shortcuts were working fine for the past 2 weeks but now have gone crazy. When I hit Shift + F6, it flips my slection horizontally when it should bring up the Select > Modify > Feather. When I hit Shift + F5, it should bring up the Edit > Fill dialog box but instead it does a Select > Modify > Grow.
I deleted the PS Prefs file but that did not work. Anyone else have this issue? Any suggestions on how to fix it?

Zeno, no,I did not reprogram any and I checked Edit>Keyboard Shortcuts the list is as it should be - Shift+F5 still shows as Fill; Shift+F6 still shows as Feather;
Other wrong shorts:
Shift+F7 now functions as Transform>Flip Vertical
Shift+F8 now functions as Transform> Rotate 90 deg CW
Shift+F9 now functions as Transform> Rotate 90 deg CCW
None of these incorrect shortcuts shows up in the Keyboard Shortcuts table. There are no other keyboard shortcut configurations other than the PS default table.
As mentioned earlier I have has CS5 installed for 2 weeks now and used the Shift + F5 for Edit>Fill about 50 times a day. I used Shift + F6 to feather a few times as well.

DW CS4/Mac: Shortcuts gone. How get them back?

Using DW CS4 on Mac G5 PowerPC and Mac OS 10.5.4.
A few days ago, I noticed that some shortcuts have gone AWOL.
I cannot copy code using Cmnd + c. Instead, I have to right-click and select "copy" (and in the menu that appears, the copy option doesn't show any shortcut).
Neither can I e.g. create links by highlighting text and go for Cmnd + L. Probably, there are more...
The only thing I can think of that I recently did was that I tested a few different workspace layouts but then went back to "Designer" which is the layout I prefer. Have tried other, hoping that my shortcuts would return, but no go so far.
Anybody knows a remedy?

Click on Dreamweaver->Keyboard Shortcuts. That's where all the shortcuts are written. If it's not saving those when you re-open DW the next time then you have a permissions error or file corruption. I don't know the file name/location but there may be someone else who can help with that or I can try to look into it later.

Shortcuts gone

When I got on my computer today, all of my shortcuts to Adobe CC programs (Audition, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premier and even Creative Cloud) were gone. I logged into my account and it says I have no registered products even though it says I am paid up through the next month. Is this a security concern or just a massive software failure?

Shortcuts gone in text messages, icloud

Hi after restoring the iphone5 a few times, the shortcuts(for typing in text) in messages are gone from my iphone and icloud??? I tried logging out of icloud but didn´t help,
anyone knows how to get them back, they´re even gone on my ipad, which isn´t restored.

If you are using the 4S, ensure Siri is enabled in Settings>General>Siri>ON. You should also ensure that the language in Keyboard is set to one of the supported languages used by Siri as the microphone is associated with Siri.

Acrobat XI, comment keyboard shortcuts gone missing, osx mountain lion

It used to be the case, with Acrobat X, that when you are making a comment on a PDF file, one would be able to use keyboard shortcuts to speed things up.
For example, one could select a point, and hit the '~' key to 'insert text at cursor', or the 'delete' key to do a 'strikethrough', and so on. It seems that
with Acrobaat XI many of these keyboard shortcuts (but not all, 's' still seems to work) are gone.
Is this intentional?
Also, to be honest, I was really looking forward to the Acrobat XI update for improved abilities to markup a PDF. It seems all of the effort went into
things like changing a PDF, but that is not at all how I use PDF. I almost always have the original source of a PDF, or if I don't, what I want
to do is markup a PDF (either with comments, or with ink using a wacom), and if anything the features for doing this have (as mentioned in the first paragraph
above) gone into reverse.
Lastly, I do all of this under osx mountain lion, I should say.

Oh, I figured out why "text correction markup" keeps getting unselected. I usually use esc to escable the bubble that pops up for notes/annotations to text. If you type escape again, it leaves text correction markup mode. Why would you do that?
I want to stay in text correction mode (in fact I would like it to be *always* on,like acrobat X was.
Other bugs i've found. Sometimes the bubble pops up but there is no text field. I.e., there is the highlighted callout going from the text to the bubble to the actual text, but then the text field is not shown. This is clearly a bug.
Again, this is all osx mountain lion. Maybe Adobe is still mad at apple due to flash? I don't know, but it really seems like you did not test this version very thoroughly.

Files and Desktop Shortcut gone??

I seem to have lost all of the forms I created in the Adobe FormsCentral File and the desktop shortcut is missing. Any ideas what could have happened? Additionally, all of the forms I created and saved at *.pdfs using FormsCentral created forms are missing from folders. ????

Did you resolve this or do you still not see your shortcut and PDFs? FormsCentral doesn't have any control over those PDFs you saved after you save them and could not remove them, the desktop shortcut could have been deleted on accident and could be restored easily.
Are you still able to launch the FormsCentral desktop application?

Where has my cmd + E shortcut gone?!

I am sure there used to be a shortcut for exporting a master file in fcpx, but since upgrading to 10.0.7 i can't find it.

Cmd-E is now the keyboard shortcut for the default export function. You can set it to be whatever you want. In Destination preferences right-click on whatever setting in the sidebar you want to be the default. That will see Cmd-E as the shortcut for it.

Safari tab switch shortcut gone

Before upgrading to Maverics I always used ctrl + tab-button to switch between tabs in safari. This is no longer possible. Why? It works fine in the new finder tabbed window.

How do I fix Creative Cloud to show ALL my apps that I have installed ?

Here my specs : Windows 7 Pro 64 bit ● 10GB DDR3 RAM ● Intel Core i7 ● AMD Radeon HD 5700 Series
Here my story :
One day, little Creative Cloud said it had an update to be installed on itself. Possibly taking it from version 1.7 to 2.0 or something. I clicked on update. Creative Cloud started downloading and once it was done it said update complete. I clicked on finish or something. Once that happened, it disappeared completely. Gone from taskbar, Window closed and shortcut gone ! I looked into the Creative Cloud folder, in the Adobe folder and there were two folders : Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe Creative Cloud_2.7.0.413. I then went into the Adobe Creative Cloud folder and double opened the application therein. It opened the Creative Cloud desktop app BUT showed it had an update just as before for itself. I AGAIN clicked on update, and then it said "Error 50" , unable to update. I searched around and somewhere on the forums it said I must download adobe cloud and reinstall it. I did that and ever since that dreadful day, little Creative Cloud desktop app doesn't want to show ALL my installed apps anymore. It simply shows only 2 !
This is what I have : Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash Professional, Media Encoder, Fireworks. What it only shows in Creative Cloud desktop app : Flash Professional, Dreamweaver.
What I tried doing :
1.) Re-installing the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app.
2.) Changing the directory settings for APPS and pointing them to the actual location of the installed apps.
3.) Deleting or renaming the "opm.db" file.
4.) YES, I RESTARTED MY PC !!!
What I want to do :
1.) Receive a fix that will make ALL my installed apps show.
2.) Find out what the hell the difference is between the concept of having TWO versions of the same program installed BUT getting updates for BOTH like "Adobe Photoshop CC" and "Adobe Photoshop CC 2014". I installed the Adobe Photoshop CC this year almost 2 months ago for example. Then CC told me there is an app update and that got me Adobe Photoshop CC 2014. Now I have two versions of the above listed programs... Why doesn't CC just UPDATE the Adobe Photoshop CC, rename and list ONLY Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 in the end ?
What I do not want : RE-DOWNLOAD OR RE-INSTALL ALL MY INSTALLED APPS ! This not only will cost me a lot of internet bandwidth but also a considerable amount of time. There must be a simple fix as all files are in place ! I can launch all apps individually and they are working both the "" versions and the 2014 ones.
My question : How do I fix Creative Cloud to show ALL my apps that I have installed ?

The email in the forum does not reflect any Creative Cloud order. Please follow the steps in
Locate the C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE directory and rename it to OOBE_OLD
Download and reinstall the Creative Cloud Application from https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud.

Roaming Profile issues

Hi all,
Since we migrated the infrastructure of our client to Win 8.1 and Server 2012 we are experiencing issues with roaming profiles. Before they had Win 7 and SBS Server 2003. The users have different problems:
RemoteApps are not working anymore (error 0x80070003), means we need to delete the contents of "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\workspaces\Feeds\" and "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Workspaces\"
The computer does not download the profile from the server so that the most recent local profile will be loaded. Events: "User Profiles General - 1509" and "User Profile Service - 1540" (I don't have the English error message available).
When this happens once, it never will work again even after days. Only deleting the local profile and re-login will solve the issue
And then there is the next problem! After deletion of the local profile and re-login with the users profile, the profile will be downloaded from the server. But there are always two things missing:
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WinX: No right-click-menu on the start button available
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\[Default-Icons]: There are no standard programs available in the start menu, such as explorer, IE, Calc, etc because of the missing shortcuts. When I checked the server I saw that the shortcuts
disappeared some days ago (previous versions)
So my questions here are
Why isn't the WinX folder being created? The local Default profile does contain it.
Where are the start menu shortcuts gone? I don't think it's caused by the user because it already happened 4 or 5 times.
This applies to migrated users but also to newly created users in the WIn8 environment and on different machines. I hope anyone had similar issues and was able to solve it..?
