Shortcut keys in Flash projector

I can't find any documentation about which shortcut keys are
available and active when a Flash Windows projector file is
running. I do know that Ctrl-Q will exit the program, but what
other shortcut keys are active for a projector?

I need to be able to differentiate between the Keyboard enter and the 10 key enter (see image below) using a shortcut key in Captivate and/or Flash. These keys are used for two different reasons in the application that I am creating a simulation for. Using ENTER allows the learner to use either key to continue with the simulation. I would like to force use of each of these keys differently.

Turning off an external monitor shortcut key

is there a shortcut key-combo that will turn off the output to a video display so I can open different powerpoint shows without the audience seeing me doing so?

It was for a 120 plate fundraising dinner and the projectors are big and can't be controlled by remote due to their location in the projection booth...bad design, but nothing I could do about it. I ended up clearing my desktop of all but the icons for the PPTs and using a relevant picture for my wallpaper. Thanks for your answers though.

Using Function Keys and Alt Key in Flash Video

I am attempting to create an eLearning video, which includes instructions, a "try it yourself" section, and then a quiz. Our software that I am trying to simulate uses Function keys (F6 to bring up specific windows) as well as shortcut keys (Alt-S takes the user to a certain field, Alt-P conducts a Patient Search, etc). However, I have found that when running the video using IE, the browser takes over the focus and these function keys do not control the video.
These functions work fine in Google Chrome (not approved for use by the company) and when the video is published as .exe, but I need this to work in IE.
Is there anyway to retain the focus on the flash video for the entire video?

Here is the Preference dialog that Lilybiri was referring to where you can change the key assignments.
When finished recording, you can click the Restore Defaults button to set everything back the way it was.

Broken shortcut keys

Wow... Talk about frustrating. Every time I start
Dreamweaver, within a few minutes, I get an error (I believe the
error is java or spry related) when using random menu items.
Afterwards, shortcut keys no longer work. This makes doing anything
insanely slow. Restart DW and it does it again within minutes.
Anyone else run into this problem and find a solution? Haven't had
much luck with searches for it.
Adobe, why did you break DW???? I have had more problems with
DW CS3 and productivity has dropped considerably because of
annoying bugs like this! Version 8 was much more stable and I had
been totally happy since version 3. C'mon!!!

if you're testing in the flash test environment, disable shortcut keys. retest.

Cross-platform shortcut keys for Actions

I'm using Captivate 5 on Windows. If I enter a shortcut like ALT-F or CTRL-F for an Action for an object, will a Mac user be able to use that shortcut after the project is published?

The whole area of shortcut key combinations for use in e-learning is just one big nightmare, and it's not Captivate or Flash's fault.
If you Google the Flash forums about keystroke combinations you'll find their all trying to find solutions for the same problems there. It's impossible to predict reliably which keystrokes will or not work because every browser is at least slightly different.
The ones that seem most unreliable are any key combinations involving function keys and the Ctrl or Alt keys. Since the interaction with an elearning SWF happens in a browser, the browser always sees the keystroke coming first before the SWF gets to 'hear' it. If the browser has a certain key combination reserved for its own functionality then it uses it...end of story.
I realise this is a big disappointment for those people wanting to create elearning that showcases keystroke functionality for software sims, but that's the world we live in.

Shortcut keys in windows Safari

I've searched many topics and cant seem to find a Direct way, to change the shortcut keys in Safari for windows... I've tried searching disabling specific keys I've tried searching hot keys, shortcuts, but nothing... or the answers that are out there, are for mac saying go into terminal or something..
I have a WINDOWS computer, and am using a file to look into the .plist files that come with Safari. I am unable to find any hot key or shortcut adjustment options.

I am looking for this as well. I am currently dealing with Safari taking me back a page every time I hit my delete key, minus the times I am in a form field. I interact with a lot of Flash content and it seems that even if I am working with text when doing that I am taken back a page. I'd be very grateful for a fix to this if anyone knows how to edit this preference on Windows.

Start SWF from Shortcut Key

Hi,
I have my app running fine, however I need it to start from a
Shortcut Key on the phone's front page (I have a Nokia 5300). On
the phone I go to Menu->Settings->My Shortcuts->Right
Selection Key. This lets me choose from lots of stuff, however I
can't figure out how to start a Flash app.
I can point the shortcut key to Gallery, which will take me
to the Gallery and I can start it that way... however I need to
start it instantly. There's one item called "Application List"
which lets me choose an app to assign directly to the shortcut key,
however I can't get my Flash app to show up in there.
Any ideas?

Ciao,
the swf is not considered an application, the application is
the FL player. So what you will need to do is to create a package
with your swf, you should be able to use Jarpa to create a jar
installer for the 5300. Remember that the Nokia 5300 is a Nokia S40
which is a proprietary OS (Java). Instead the Nokia S60 platform is
based on Symbian OS.

How to Open a Specific Folder in the Finder via Shortcut Key

I'm sure this has been covered elsewhere, so sorry for not finding it...
Is it possible to assign a shortcut key to open a specific folder with Automator or AppleScript? There are 4-5 commonly used folders buried 10-11 levels deep on a server and I'd love to have a shortcut key to open those particular folders in the Finder.
Could you give me some assistance?

QuickKeys may work, or you can look on http://www.versiontracker.com or http://www.macupdate.com for other alternatives.
Another option is to create aliases to those folders and store the aliases in a local folder which you can place on your Dock, the Finder window sidebar or toolbar.

ok, I found the keyboard viewer, it only shows the traditional symbol 'return'. something like a sideway u-turn continued with the arrow under. This is the Canadian or US keyboard.

I don't believe there is a keyboard shortcut available for that feature. But I believe if you click-select the topmost chapter, and Shift-click the bottommost chapter, it should select them all.
Other shortcuts for books can be set up in Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts in the Panel Menus product area. There are no default shortcuts in that area.

Satellite U400-12P - Multimedia Shortcut Keys illuminates 24-7

Hey everyone,
I am new to this forum and I hope someone will solve the problem I have.
I own a Toshiba Satellite U400-12P (been a year now). Past few days I have noticed that the multimedia keys (PLAY/PAUSE/FFD/RWD/) isn't functiong (doesnt respond to my touch) + multimedia keys illuminates 24-7;that is even if the computer is switched off the shortcut keys are shining brightly. I have no clue why this is taking place.
If someone has a solution to this. I shall greatly appreciate it.

My cursor recently started to dissapear when im not using it but when i press a key it flashes back for a second... how do i fix this?

Well I'm a frequent Firefox user ad recently my cursor has started to dissapear when I'm not moving it. However when i press a key it flashes back for a second also, when I'm moving it flickers a lot (one moment its there one moment it isn't). How do i fix this?

Never saw this problem until today, first on Facebook, then on these Mozilla support pages. I had one Firefox window with multiple FB and Mozilla tabs open.
Here's my observations: On the FB and Mozilla pages, the cursor (arrow/hand) acted identical and as described here, would disappear after 2-3 seconds of inactivity or non-motion, then instantly reappear with mouse movement or key strike but only momentarily if no further motion/action occurred. Interestingly, I also had one FoxNews tab (actually FoxNewsInsider) open, and observed slightly different activity. The Cursor/hand would disappear as described above, but instead of staying invisible, it flashed on /off for what appeared to be <1 second on then <1 second off, until mouse movement or key strike. Now, here's the really interesting part ... When I opened a second FoxNewsInsider tab, the problem corrected itself with no direct action on my part to resolve the issue. I was going to close all tabs, then Firefox and perform the system reboot to correct this annoyance ... but, still have not seen the problem.
Okay, I'm not going to say viewing FoxNewsInsider webpages not only provides one perspective on news, and the added benefit of fixing cursor/hand problems .. but maybe there's some to being well informed ... Sorry folks, couldn't resist ... :) I will be watching for the disappearing cursor issue again, and will reply here with any updates or changes in my observations.

How to grab global shortcuts keys in a java application?

Does anybody know if it's possible to get the focus to a Java application, when it is not selected, using a keyboard shortcut key?
I've written a java application that provides shortcuts keys (like CTRL-M...) for accessing to some operations. For using those keys combinations my application has to be focused between the other opened applications on the operating system (Linux 7.3), as it should be in a normal behaviour... but, I would need that the operation associated to the shortcut key could be executed even if another application had the focus...
Is it possible? How this could be done?

Reading variables from a text file into a flash projector exe

I am using Flash CS4 and my script is in ActionScript2.
I am developing a flash projector file that runs when a user puts in a cd to guide them through the steps they need to install a program and then kicks off the installer.
I use fscommand to run a utility that reads the users registry to determine the PCs regional settings and then writes this to a text file in the users %temp% directory.
I then use the LoadVariablesNum command to read in the text file and get the variables.
This was working fine when I had the text file stored in a different directory, but when I try and refer to the %temp% directory, I get an Error opening file message.
Is there anyway to get flash to look in the %Temp% directory?
