Shortcut to quick dial contacts

Is there any way to add a shortcut on the home screen to the quick dial contacts that you have entered?

Hi, I have a Nokia E72. Seems to me that the basic phone is quite limited in customization. I previously had a Samsung Omnia and used SPB Mobile Shell which gave me a lot of freedom in customizing the phone.
I am now looking at a similar shell for the Nokia - at the moment I am trying Handy Shell - seems reasonable but I would like to find the best one. Do you know of any place where I could find comparisons or can you make a recomendation?

  • Shortcuts/Quick dial on Nokia 5800

I've recently purchased a Nokia 5800 and have set up 4 members of my family as the Quick Dial contact icons on the main screen.
However, when I click on a particular contact and then on the Call icon I don't get any choice over which number the phone calls - despite the fact that I have work, home and mobile numbers saved for all my contacts.
I would like to know if there is any way that you can choose which number you want to call from this screen rather than going through to the Contacts menu (as this defeats the object of having a quick dial shortcut).
Ideally I would like pressing the call button to result in a drop down list of numbers so that I can choose the most appropriate number.
Is this possible as it's always been the case on all my other Nokia's and I miss it on this new phone?
Thanks for any help you can offer.
    H x

I agree that being able to dial any available number for the four favorites would be nice, it is at least possible to select which of their numbers you want to be the default. If you want to change that:
Go to Contacts, find the person
    Select Options
    Defaults
    Phone number
and choose the one you want to be the default speed-dial.

  • Skype to go speed dial contacts

Hi, can someone please tell me how to change my speed dial contacts on my skype to go number. Also, how many speed dial contacts can I have? thank you

When you change your direct dial numbers, your speed dial numbers will automatically adjust accordingly. To see your speed dials, click on "View old number" in the bottom right of the Skype To Go account overview page.

  • Speed dialing, contact categories, emails

Speed dial contact details appear and disappear at random as can be seen from two shots of the speed dial screen. The same applies to the call log that has calls from the saved constacts appear without contact name as if they were not saved contacts.
Another issue is that the extremely useful "contact categories" have not been yet incorporated in the OS10 and finally one cannot delete the original email as was possible in the good old times.

They disappear at random, so every day it is a different story. I should have name and type of number (home, mobile etc) but instead I get either only the number without the name or the number without both name and photo.

  • Cannot send Mail from Search shortcut "email [name of contact]" with exchange account

i have a Q10 with an exchange Account configured. Mail works fine from the hub but when i use the search feature of the q10 by typing "email [name of contact]" the compser opens but i cannot send. the account field is empty and when i press send the button gets greyed out. the email is not sent.
the problem seems to be that the default-account setting is not recognised when you use the search-shortcut-feature of the q10. when i compose a mail from the hub the account-field is filled right.
same problem has a friend of mine from another company. he also uses a different excahnge server/account.

    Hi!
I've got the same problem. It's a quiet annoying bug.

  • IPhone 4S Siri Will No Longer Voice Dial Contacts - Always Call Failed

I am not exactly sure when this started (5.0.1?), but when I ask Siri to dial someone in my contacts, Siri recognizes the request, proceeds to Dial the number and no matter which contact I try, I get an immediate "CALL FAILED" and then the iPhone immediately locks. I have restored the iPhone as new, Reset Network Settings, etc. to no avail. If I turn Siri off from Settings, the phone will revert to the previous Voice Control that was present in previous iPhones and Voice Calls are successful. Only when trying to use Siri do all voice initiated calls fail. And it is 100% consistent in the failure. This does not appear to be a Siri network issue, as all Siri other Siri requests work and are speedy. Co-workers with the 4S are also experiencing the same issue, so it does not appear to be specific to just my iPhone. Can anyone else confirm? Thanks.

OK, so i have tracked it down to a single AT&T Cell Tower location in my instance, but it also just so happens to be at my office, which means I am affected by it all day. What is happening is that at this particular location, the AT&T tower is misconfigured or experiencing some type of technical issue, resulting in the inability of the cell tower to handle simultaneous voice and data. Siri uses data to match the contacts, names etc and hands off to the Phone dialer, which immediately experiences a call failure as a result of the 3G Data still being in use by Siri. You can verify simultaneous voice and data connectivity by placing a voice call and then attempting to use 3G data (you must not be using WiFi to determine if this is a problem with the Cell network). While in a voice call, launch the Speedtest.net Mobile Speed Test app. You will clearly see that 3G data services have all but ceased if this is your problem. End the Voice Call and run the Speedtest.net Mobile Speed Test again and 3G data will work fine.
I have reported the problem via AT&T's Mark the Spot App numerous times and had my colleagues do the same and called AT&T Wireless customer service to no avail. They simply refuse to acknowledge the issue is on their end. I personally know at least 5 other iPhone 4S users in my office who are experiencing the same issue and the results can be consistently recreated on all of their devices. And again, once they leave the office in the afternoon, all of their services return to normal and they can again make and place Voice initiated phone calls without the dreaded Call Failed. Thanks AT&T.

  • Dial contact phone number?

On my old pc, I used to have the option to plug in a phone line and have Outlook dial the contact's number for me. I don't see that option in Address Book, but it seems like it should exist. What am I missing?

nothing like this exists in Address Book. maybe some 3rd party software can do it but you'd have to search for it.

  • Re: skype to go speed dial contacts

Hi, this does not appear to affect my Speed Dial list so how to change it? Please provide more detailed intrsuctions. Currently the first 9 contacts in my Skype to Go numbers constitute my Speed Dials. If I could re-organise my Skype to Go list, I suspect it would change the Speed Dials. There appears to be no way to do this???

  • Shortcut to automatically send contact?

    Hi,
I have an E61 and I was just thinking, why do we still have Business cards - so 20th century...
So, would it be possible to set up a shortcut to automatically send a contact (one´s own in this application) via Bluetooth to another phone, which would comprise several steps
    - Activate Bluetooth if inactive
    - Send a connection proposal to other phone
    - If/ when accepted, send contact
I think that would be a useful thing to have on a phone - should be possible to write on a phone running OSS software, in any case, if not on this one.
That would save one loads of Business Cards who end up rotting away in rotary business-card-collecting-things, in the bin or not being used until they´re out-of-date...
    Any thoughts on this?

    Hi Subba
Yes, it is possible to Automatically send these EWA through email from Solution Manager based on Solutions.
Once you are in "solution_manager", select the solution and then on the "solution:<SOlution_name>- SAP solution manager" page,
    Edit>automatic email transmission>create email receipient.
    and you are all set.
make sure your SCOT is configured. You will start receiving these reports from next week in your inbox.
    Hope that helps.

  • Dialing contacts with number as name

ok, first time poster and here's what i got.
i have contacts for many retail locations with store numbers.
example: (in the contact info) First Name: 1234, Last Name: Mountainview Store.
so i go and hit the send button to pull up the phone and dial "1234" and it says "no contacts" and waits for me to finish typing in this "new" number and hit send.
but, if i start all over from the home screen and hit the send button to pull up the phone and then hit the menu button and then click on "call from contacts" then i can dial "1234" and it pulls up the contact for the Mountianview store, so i then hit the send button and it dials that contact.
so i gotta know if there is a better way to input the store info in the contacts or just what do i have to do so i can type the store number in the phone to have it pull up the contact without going to 'menu>call from contacts' each time i call. i don't want to use the city name (call me lazy, it's ok.)
    Many Thanks!

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The problem is that the device assumes if you enter numbers in the phone app that you want to dial a hone number.
I think the only work around is to simply go the address book first and then search for the store number and dial from there
If you have Dial from Home Screen disabled then you can simply hit the A key to go to address book then drill down using your store number from there and then call.  You are still effectively using the call from contacts feature but skipping the first phone app step.

  • Can't "Quick Find" Contacts Anymore After Deleting Categories

A few days ago, I deleted a few of the categories I used for the contact database on my device (Work, Restaurants, etc). Now, when I look to send an email or call one of those contacts that used to be in a deleted category, I can't use the "quick find" (or "quick fill," not sure what Bberry calls it) to type the first few letters of the person's name. I can still find them if I go to my address book and scroll far enough to find the name, and then send a message or call, but only then.
How can I fix this so contacts that used to be in "Work" or "Restaurants" pop up once again just by typing the first few letters?
Been a happy Bberry 8330 Sprint Curve user for a year, until it froze this morning (different post/thread). Found this forum, thought I'd post this question too. Thanks!
    - Greg

Hi and welcome to the forums!
A couple of things to try. First make sure you are not accidentally filtering your contacts.  Clear any check boxes in your contacts-filter option.  Second, if that doesn't work try pulling the battery out with the device ON. Wait about a minute and put the battery back in. Let the BB completely restart and see if that doesn't help. Clears out the memory and refreshes the BB; like rebooting your pc. When you have anomalous behavior in your BB a battery pull often helps to clear it up too.
Happy to have you here and let us know how it goes!

  • N95 quick photo contacts like on N82?

On my old N82 I can hit one of the buttons and it brings up a kind of carousel of junk. The main one being a configurable list (with pictures) of my favorite few contacts. I have seen a video of this on the N95 8gb as well.
Is this possible to do on my N95-3 non-8gb?
I can hit the right button and some carousel thing comes up with lifeblog, music, etc, but I dont see one for quick contacts.
    Thanks!

No you can't do it on the N95-3 (or N95-1) as the menu is part of the firmware of other models. It is not an installable app.
The feature was first introduced on the N81 and later appeared on the N95 8GB, N82 and N78.

  • How to quickly delete contact in message screen without going all the way to contacts screen?

If I get a message from Jessica and I decide to delete her as a contact in my iphone how can I do that without having to go back to my contacts list that contains 6500 entries and delete her? thanks

yeah forget it. iphone is so stupid. on blackberry I can just go directly to her name and delete her right there whereas on iphone if u go directly to her name and click edit there will be no option to delete her contact. u need to exit that screen, go to main menu then go to contacts then find her name again (among my 6500 contacts; i actually found an easier way so now I copy paste that person's name and find it easier that way in contacts) and then click edit and then go to the bottom of that edit page and click delete. very annoying and slow. some iphone feature are just inexplainably slow, long and annoying.

When you are on the webpage just hold you finger down on the text, highlight all of the text you want to include in the email then select copy, then tap the arrow icon uptop, then select mail link to this page, when the mail window opens hold your finder down in the message for a few sec then select paste.  Type in the customers email address then tap send.
