Shortcuts and links fail to work and the message "There was a problem sending the command to the program." appears.
Not long after I upgraded to FF4, my shortcuts and links stopped behaving normally. When I (double) clicked on either I got the message "There was a problem sending the command to the program." This problem doesn't seem to occur with IE9. I am running Windows 7.
In my case, i have solved this by double clicking on the downloaded file directly from the download window

Excel won't open and error message There was a problem sending the command to the programe
Hi there
I'd be grateful for your help.
I've just bought a new laptop and installed Office 2013. I used Excel 2013, did what I needed to do and saved it. This was 5 days ago.
Today, I've tried opening the file from my desktop and get the error message 'There was a problem sending the command to the program'.
And when I try to open Excel to do the DDE fix, which seems to be the best suggestion, I can't open Excel at all. I've tried to get into it from the Apps screen.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
ThanksDon't seem like this can be fixed so I went back to version 6.0.2 which works good.
I have Chrome now as my default browser and will not use fire fox until they fix it!
Chrome works great! -
Problem only occurs with Firefox - not with Explorer.
If I access the website directly and not through a bookmark, there is no error message.
The website is still accessed properly, but I have to click on 'OK' to get rid of it.
Deleting and reforming the bookmark does not solve the problem.
If I disable the Roboform extension, the problem goes away.Hi bob1935-

When I click on a desktop icon and access a site via Firefox I get the message "There was a problem sending the command to the program". This started to happen after I downloaded the most recent version of Firefox. I uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it and the message still comes up every time. The site will come up about three seconds after the message appears but the message is a real pain to put up with. What is the problem? I am ready to dump Firefox and go to Opera.

@sjpierce - I don't believe that this is a Firefox-specific issue, but it does sound like you have some sort of malware on your machine. What was this innocuous link that you clicked on? A lot of viruses and malware make their rounds on Facebook.
Regardless, what I would do is this ( I assume you're running Windows):
* Download the Free and awesome Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) via [http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/ http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/]
* Next update MSE and do a full system scan to ensure you don't have any existing malware on your machine. If so, clean it off and reboot. Keep doing this until you come up clean.
* Refer to this article on SUMO [[Profiles|Profiles]]
* Delete your old Firefox profile, create a new one and launch Firefox 4 again using the new profile
You should be back to normal at this point.
If you are running an OS like Mac OS X or Linux, it's unlikely that you have malware and you should probably clean your Firefox profile and start over again. -

My problem was resolved when I disabled the FoxyProxy add-on that I had installed. Someone mentioned this in another forum and it worked for me.

I have not changed/updated my mail client, Windows Live Mail, so I assume the problem is with the updated Firefox.

In the last few days I've found that control-clicking a hyperlink in a document, or clicking a link in Thunderbird, does not bring up Firefox. This started I believe after I updated to Firefox 5.0. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit and Firefox has always performed perfectly until now.
I had also updated Thunderbird which caused my ThunderBrowse extension to be disabled (not compatible) so I had assumed that was the problem in Thunderbird. But since it happens in a text document too, I'm no longer sure.Try here > Mac App Store: "An unknown error occurred (100)" when purchasing

There was a problem sending the command to the program
I get a message "There was a problem sending the command to the program". All of my Excel workbooks!
Hi
When you double-click an Excel workbook in Windows Explorer, a dynamic data exchange (DDE) message is sent to Excel, instructing it to open the workbook that you double-clicked.
If the Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) setting is selected, Excel ignores DDE messages sent to it by other programs. As a result, the DDE message sent to Excel by Windows Explorer is ignored,
and Excel does not open the workbook that you double-clicked.
To solve the problem, we recommend you go Office Button /
Excel Options / Advanced, and scroll all the way down to the
General section. There you will see the “Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE)” setting checked. Uncheck the box, click OK to apply, and you’re good to go
For more information to solve the issue, please refer to the link below:

Besides that, all the other functions work properly, even synchronize apps and library.

My iphone 4 was crushed on the road. Bought a 4 replacement tried to restore it in itunes to get my contact info and it said there was a problem with my phone and I should contact apple store. What does that mean please?
Is the replacement exactly the same as the original ie same memory size & same version? If so it may require updating the OS software before trying to restore your stuff from the backup.

I have an old Mac G5 with OSX 10.5.8
After a crash of my HD, I reinstalled the CS3.
At the time of recording I get a window with the message "COMPLETED REGISTRATION" and under "There was a problem sending the informasioni via internet" and still under three choices to "send back" and "records in a second time "or" never record "and I continue to choose the latter option.
Another problem is that in Bridge (version 2.0.0.975) I can no longer see thumbnails of RAW files from my Canon 40D that I saw before.
Should I upgrade ACR? which is the latest version supported on my Mac?
thank youSergio Bellotto if you keep receiving the registration screen then please try accepting the screen in a different User account.
