Shortcuts from Portal to SAP Txns no Longer Working Correctly with 7.20

We are in the process of upgrading from SAPGUI 7.10 to 7.20. I've noticed that when clicking on a shortcut to an SAP transaction from our SAP Portal, I'm getting a File Download popup asking Do you want to open or save this file? There is a checkbox that says Always ask before opening this type of file. If you uncheck that and click open, then the shortcut works. If you don't uncheck that box, then it opens a text file.
Is this new popup a result of the new Security Module that comes with 7.20? And, is there a way to either not get that popup or to automatically uncheck the Always ask...option?

Hi Andrea,
you can switch off those, IMO annoying, messages forever. I've got only a German SAP Logon pad, however, this should give you a hint where to find it:
Logon Pad->Options->Security-Settings. On the upper right selection box, here it reads 'Status', you can select 'deactivated'.
This should disable all futher pop-ups. You may have to restart SAP logon afterwards, please try it yourself.

I recently bought my first Mac, a great MacBook Pro which I love!
I use Lightroom3 and Photoshop CS5 to edit photos and now want to print from my Epson R1800.
I found that the prints initially came off very dark & contrasty, so I calibrated both the MBP screen and my Samsung SuncMaster 245B monitor with my Spyder2 and the Colorvision software.
Even after establishing colour profiles for both screens, the printed image was still far darker and "heavier" than that shown on screen. This was the same whether printing from LR3 or from the Mac Preview app (it was worth trying I thought!).
So searching for help on the web I came across this thread and now wonder whether I should uninstall my driver (6.57) and reinstall the printer with 6.23.
Stephen did you find that this worked - did PS CS5 behave after that?
Of course I'm trying to print some work soon and in desperation could adjust every (edited) image by brightening & reducing contrast, however with dozens to print it seems crazy to do that, not to mention wrong!

Open a QueryView from Portal in SAP Analyzer

I have a Query Q1 and a view V_Q1 which was created in SAP Analyzer 7.0. I know how to publish V_Q1 to Portal, see

But using the tecnique above, V_Q1 always opens in Web Analyzer, but I want to get V_Q1 to be opened in SAP Analyzer.
I already achieved to publish Q1 to Portal and to be opened in SAP Analyser (using codelink com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.Transaction with Parameter QUERY=Q1 and Parameter SAP-GUI-Type = SAP Gui for Windows).
But how to publish V_Q1 to Portal and to be opened in SAP Analyzer.
All hints are helpful....

thank you for your response.
I created the View in BEx. I still can open the query view from BEx. I am able to open the query from Portal. From that config; i tried to change the iView in Portal, so that it opens the query view. But it isn't working. BEx is just opening blank.
I recognized, that there is also a parameter "Dynamic parameters" which seems to be important. Nevertheless, I didn't managed to open the query from from portal.
Do you have a working config?

Suggest you try a NVRAM / PRAM reset, as described by Apple:
Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.

I'm going to see if Currys can remove all info from my hard drive and hopefully recover my itunes, but if this does not work is there another way to get them?

The computer not working in no way means the drive is inaccessible.
Place the drive in an external enclosure.
Use the backup of the computer to restore the data to the new computer.

Filter list no longer works correctly in 4.6

I have been using the classic filter function for array collections since 4.0. With the recent 4.6 update my filter no longer works correctly.
Example of classic realtime filter:

While the filter works and updates the list just like it used to, the underlying arraycollection doesn't get updated.

So its like there are two lists.
1. filteredlist (auto generated)
2. list with mydata before filter.
The IndexChangeEvent is giving me the selectedindex of the filtered list (item 0) but resolving item 0 with the unfiltered list and the data does not match up.
Now I can no longer get the correct name of the list after applying the fiilter.
Is this a bug that was introduced in Flex 4.6?

galleherjazz, a little research would tell you a lot. Palm sold the rights to Palm Desktop years ago to a company called "Access" from Japan. It was their responsibility to come up with a version of Palm Desktop that works with Vista. They produced one version, then updated it to 6.2.2 to fix some bugs. After that, they abandoned the project! Palm Inc. moved on to a wholly new operating system (webOS).
"Palm programmers" had nothing to do with the decisions made. Access' version came with no color categorization. Pleas for improvements and bug fixes have fallen on deaf ears.
Palm Inc. appears to have no interest in supporting Windows 7 with their legacy (read: discontinued) devices. Any hope for 64-bit USB compatibility appears to be gone.

Facebook no longer works correctly on my iPad. If a post has a video attached, safari automatically brings up the video. I have deleted the app facebook and re-added. Still having the issue.

It appears to be a bug with (I assume) Facebook's servers - other people are having the same problem, me included, with the app switching into YouTube in Safari and showing the last video that was posted on the wall. Until Facebook (if it is their bug) fix it, then there is not much that you can do, apart from possibly accessing Facebook via Safari on your iPad and/or on your computer instead. The problem has also been reported on Facebook's help site as well - it may be related to their new 'timeline' feature or the new iPad that they are rumoured to be announcing soon

ITunes 10.1 - Shuffle function no longer works correctly

The shuffle function on playlists no longer works correctly since the most recent iTunes update.
It will periodically stop playing without playing the entire playlist. It is a real hassle and kills the mood as you have to go back to the Mac and click play again. Please fix this issue as it is a very basic function.

Remove Office 2008 for Mac using Microsoft deinstall procedure. Reinstall Office 2008 for Mac. If there are updates, apply them. Using Disk Utility, verify/repair permissions on your boot drive.
Does Office for Mac 2008 now work correctly? If not, you may want to repeat the above first sentence, and then update to Office for Mac 2011, and apply the latest (14.4.8) update which has Yosemite fixes.

MM Director w/QuickTime 7 no longer works correctly

I updated my PC to QT 7.0.3 and now I have a number of MM Director apps which no longer work correctly. These apps have worked for over 5 years with QT3 - QT6, but not now.
The straingt QT movies play okay, but the MM Dir apps no longer seem to be able to control the QTVR movies, e.g. spin, zoom, etc.
Anyone else seen this?

Apparently, this is a known issue (with QuickTime VR hotspots etc) at Adobe / Macromedia. It was noted in November 2005.

Upload document from Portal to SAP R.3 DMS

Hi Experts,
We are trying to get the attachemnts from enterpriseportal to SAP R/3 DMS Server using <B>BAPI_Document_Create2.</B>
1)We use the method upload file to application sever from portal it is working but by attaching to DMS Server it not attaching.
2) BAPI export params we are passing pf_http_dest = 'SAPHTTPA'.
Developing in Webdynpro java application by using the above RFC function module and when I try to run the application it will show the size sent to R/3 system but it is not uploaded to R/3.
Can any one suggest in this we are struckup to do this.

The documents are uploaded from WDJ to Portal Server / Portal Content Directory / Some Shared Drive .
So that they can also be programmed such a way that they can be fetched whenever needed .
The requirement is interesting but before you take step think how far it is feasible .

SAP Connector no longer working after upgrade

After upgrading from EP 6.0 SP2 Patch 2 to Patch 3, our iViews using the SAP connector framework is no longer working. No connection is obtained. Even the examples in the PDK has stopped working. It seems that maybe some files have disappeared (in folder ".../server/services/eisconnector/work").
Any ideas?

1. please have a look in the Visual Admin Tool -> Services -> EISConnector ans see if the SAP Connector is deployed there. if you see it there, so it is deployed.
2. try to remove and add agian the SAP Connector (in the same place as from section one)
3. why dont you use the last Portal Patch and J2EE patch?
4. do you see any special exception in the Log file?
