Shortcuts on home page

i have created shortcuts on my homepage from various internet sites but i cant delete them now. ive tried through the way you would delete an app but that way wont let me delete the web sites shortcut, any ideas??

By "the way you would delete an app" do you mean: put your finger on the shortcut and hold it there until the shortcuts start wiggling? So what happens? Your homemade shortcuts don't get a red X when they wiggle?

  • Creating contact shortcut on home page

Hello. This is my first post to the discussion. I just bought a Droid 3 and joined the community. I am trying to create shortcuts for frequently-used contacts on my Home Page. I did it once but can't seem to figure out how I did it. There was a menu with Shortcuts on it but I don't know how to get it back. Some instructions I read on a support page said to go to Home Page, touch Menu and then touch Add. But I don't see Add anywhere. Can you help? Thanks.  PollySarar

try long pressing a home screen with available space on it (touch the screen and hold for a couple seconds and a menu should pop up)

  • Desktop shortcuts open home page

I recently installed Safari on my Vista PC. It works fine except...
    1. Any exiting Internet shortcuts on the desktop open my home page.
    2. Bookmarks created in Safari work when in safari but when dragged to the desktop open my home page.
    3. When using the "open with" option and selecting IE, the desktop shortcut created by Safari opens the correct url, but when Safari is selected, it opens my home page.
Is this by design or do I have a configuration issue??

Glad to hear it. Every once in a while scan again. Say once a month or so.
As you saw from the reports, one scanner picked up where another did
not. So use two or three scanners. Happy Computing.

  • FF 26 doesn't open URL shortcuts, it opens the Home page instead! (in Windows)

Hello there... I used to be able to click on a .URL shortcut in Windows and Firefox (whether or not it was actually running) would open up and go right to the page I desired.
Now, it ALWAYS opens up the "home" page. This is *really* annoying.
Does anyone know what the problem might be?
    Thanks for your assistance!

This is usually a problem with the set up of the default browser (registry keys missing or corrupted).<br />
You can try to 'redo' the default browser and temporarily set another browser as the default.

  • When i try to delete a safari home page shortcut there is no favorites option when i tap the book icon. why?

I want to delete safari home page shortcuts. Previous answers to this question indicate that i should tap the book icon>select favorites>then tap edit.
There is no option to select favorites. Why.

You're suffering from two common misconceptions.
    1. You will never get a response from Apple when you submit a crash report. The reports are used internally, if at all.
    2. This is not Apple tech support. This is a forum provided by Apple for users of its products to discuss technical issues among themselves. No one here represents Apple or knows anything about your contacts with Apple. If you want support from Apple, click the Support link at the top of this page.

  • Sort the Shortcut Dropdownlist of Team Member Home Page in Oracle Project

In Team Member Home Page, need to sort the values in the Shortcuts dropdown list.
I have checked the VO(ShortcutDroplistVO), which is used as Dummy VO.
Checked the ShortcutDroplistAM,ShortcutDroplistRN,ShortCutDroplistCO, which is attached to the Shortcut field.
Shortcut Dropdown list values are not given in Controller class,View Object.
I am confused how the values are populated dynamically?
Could anyone help me to solve this issue?

There are two ways to go ahead:
    First one:
    1. Extend controller and in processRequest get ShortcutDropListVO object
    2.get the query using vo.getQuery()
    3. Add orderby caluse to the query and set it using vo.setQuery()
But vo.setQuery() may or may not work properly.
    Second one:
    1. Create custom VO(as required) in Jdeveloper under custom folder structure and move it into server
    2. extend controller and in processRequest attach custom VO to seeded AM (you can get sample code in many threads)
    3. get drop down bean value and attach custom VO to it using sample code
    OAMessageChoiceBean bean = (OAMessageChoiceBean)webBean.findChildRecursive("beanID");
    bean.setPickListViewObjectDefinitionName();
    bean.setPickListCacheEnabled(false);
Note: custom VO should have same columns and order of columns as seeded VO

  • No home page when I click on the Firefox shortcut installed when I downloaded the latest firefox.

I got a new computer. With my old 512 mb ram HP, I had no trouble getting to my firefox homepage with bookmarks, etc. Now, when I click on the Firefox shortcut, all I get is some damn page telling me to download the new version of firefox. Which I already did!

  • The home page short cut with the little house on it is gone with Firefox 4. You can only go home with the History feature or reload the page from desktop shortcut. A big shortcoming in my opinion.

Hey guys..you used to have a home page shortcut on your toolbar in the past. A little picture of a "house" Now it is gone, gone. The only way I can get to the start page is with the "History" tool or going back to the icon on my desktop. Right now, I would rather go back to the older Firefox that had a Home page short cut. '''''''''ha'''''''''

The "Home" button was moved to the right-side of the Navigation Toolbar. <br />
The "Reload" and "Stop" button are on right-side of the Location bar, combined into the same space as the "Go" button; whichever button is appropriate at any time is what is displayed. The "Go"button when you are typing in the Location bar, the "Stop" button when a page is loading, and the "Reload" button when a page is fully loaded.
If you want any or all of those buttons in their former location, as they were in Firefox 3.6, you can Customize your Toolbars and put them where you want them. <br />

  • Home page - whenever I open, it does not "refresh." When I go to yahoo mail, my "news" tab continues to show Jul 14th headlines, etc.

Home page is yahoo mail and news... it never refreshes... I'm looking for the option to refresh each time the web page opens. Thanks

If you use extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) like <i>Adblock Plus</i> or <i>NoScript</i> or <i>Flash Block</i> that can block content then make sure that such extensions aren't blocking content.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.
You can use one of these to start Firefox in <u>Safe mode</u>:
*On Windows, hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox with a double-click on the Firefox desktop shortcut
*On Mac, hold down the Options key while starting Firefox
*Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
If it works in Firefox Safe-mode then disable all extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.
Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

  • I want to see my chosen home page when I click on Firefox, but your ad shows up. How do I get rid of it?

When I go to Mozilla Firefox, I always see YOUR page first instead of my chosen home page. This page says "Committed to You, your privacy and an open web under your logo, and in top right corner, it says "See what's New" and it makes me either check "No Thanks" or "Let's go". This is annoying because I really just want my home page when I click on Firefox.
How do I get rid of YOUR page that comes up first? If I can't get rid of this, I plan to no longer use Mozilla Firefox. Please advise. (I would have given you a screen shot, but your system doesn't accept it here)
    Thanks!
    Kathy Burden

You can check the target line in the Firefox desktop shortcut (right-click: Properties) to make sure that nothing is appended after the path to the Firefox program.
Do you still have your home page set correctly?
*Tools > Options > General > Startup: Home page
Firefox supports multiple home pages separated by '|' (pipe) symbols.

You can check for problems with preferences.
Delete a possible user.js file and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release.

If I go to a different browser and pull up yahoo it is fine, if I log on to my mail there it also comes up fine and usable. Please help am new to Firefox and just barley getting to where I can us it really don't want to have to change to yet another browser. Losing all my stuff again. (Microsoft browser program stopped working) Please help, real desperate here. Thank you. Followed the instruction on how to take a screen shot, did so, but don't know how to attach it here. Didn't see instructions regarding that and beyond my limited abilities. Have it if someone needs it and can tell me how to attach or send.

  • How can I get just my home page to come up when Firefox starts. I don't want to see all the pages for my extensions plus the "Welcome to Firefox Page." I have 5 pages open every time that I don't want.

    Firefox Welcome Page
    Download Helper Extension Page
    Google Shortcuts Extension Page
    Download Status Bar Extension Page
This happens each and every time Firefox opens, whether there is a new update or not. I currently have these extensions disabled until I can resolve this issue.

Open Firefox preferences/options. On the General tab you can specify what Firefox should do when it starts. I would guess that you have "Show my windows and tabs from last time" selected. Select "Show my home page" and set your home page in the text box.

  • Why can I no longer acess the Youtube app on the home page since upgrading to iOS6? It's replaced with a Clock App.

The application Youtube is gone from the home page and is no longer listed in the Settings.  When I use Safari to access Youtube most of the videos will not play and state "Not authorized by subscriber" or another such statement.  All of these same videos can be acessed by my PC so this is very frustrating.  Any suggestions or help will be appreciated!  Thanks.

The YouTube app is not included in iOS 6 (I think because the licensing agreement with google ended). You will either need to try one of the YouTube apps from the store (there is an iPhone optimised app from google, and other people have said that they are working on an iPad version), or (if this isn't the version that you have tried) try accessing the mobile version via Safari : http://m.youtube.com (you can create a home screen shortcut for the site)

  • Why does a new tab page open along with my home page?

When I go online, I expect to have only my home page open, instead, I have two tabs, my home page tab and New Tab and the New Tab page is the page that actually opens. This just started yesterday, why??

Did you check the home page setting to make sure that it is still correct?

  • My Firefox 20 seems to not shut down but only restart. Also, rather than my home page, the last pages visited appear.

It's as if Firefox 20.0 never shuts down but only restarts.
Even when I close Firefox 20.0 by clicking the X button on the top right or use "exit," when I open Firefox, it acts the same as if I'd used "restart," namely the tabs don't load until I click on them. Furthermore, the 4 pages I use as my home pages aren't there but rather whatever pages I had up when I last closed my browser.
I have tried creating a new profile, which worked ONE TIME. Then, it went back to my problem.
I have used "restore" to go back to a time before the problem started but that hasn't worked.
I removed the addon I had downloaded in that time period but that didn't help, either.
Thank you for any help you can give. I know you're all volunteers and your time is important.

Does it seem like that Firefox is crashing? Try checking if there are any crash reports by going to about:crashes in your browser. Alternatively you can try safe mode as outlined below:
'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
    * You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
''When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.''
