Shortcuts to switch tabs

In Firefox, I can do command+n (where n is the tab number) and it'll switch to that tab. Is there a way to do this in Safari 3 or can I only do the left and right shortcuts?

Hi. In Mac OS in general, you can switch between open documents or windows in the same program via the shortcut COMMANDO + >. Like for instance different windows in Firefox. But in Numbers and Pages, this means zoom in or out.
Does anybody know a shortcut to switch / tab between the open documents in Numbers and Pages?
I have searched google, here and e-mailed for help and found nothing.

You see, just google for "Large letter keyboard" and maybe add Mac. But ones without Mac symbols works just as fine, you just have to learn which key is which.
Seems there is no solution to my tilde-problem...

Shortcut for switching tabs not working

Hi All,
I set up a keyboard shortcutto flip back and forth through my tabs in safari ( apple <- or apple -> ) - however they only work when the tab is empty.
If i have a web page open in a tab, then when i press my shortcut, it goes 'back' or 'forwards' in the page.
Any ideas on how i can stop this so i can cycle through my tabs as normal?

Just ran it on a couple of open sequences, works precisely as expected. You must, of course, have at least one track designated with the thrice-cursed AutoSelect doodads.

Shortcut for switching Tabs

There used to be a shortcut in Safari for moving between tabs. I don't see that anymore. Seems like the only way to do it is to click the tab you want. Is that right?

How can you set up a custom keyboard shortcut for Next Tab and Previous Tab?

You can do this in Chrome because there is a top menu item for it, and OS X supports easily rebinding of keyboard shortcuts that are in the main menus.
Is this possible in Firefox? Using a two handed shortcut to switch tabs is annoying when you want to keep one hand on the mouse!

Hello all, this is my first post. I'm sure you all can help me.
I find that SHIFT + COMMAND + (L or R) BRACKET is a very uncomfortable and troublesome shortcut to switch tabs in Safari. I use the shortcut every day, and was wondering if it's possible to make it a little more friendly. In other words, can I change that function to a different, user-defined shortcut? Thanks.

Go to the Keyboard and Mouse Pane of System Preferences. Hit the "+" sign. Now, select Safari from the drop down, and make the changes to the items you want. It's in Safari's "Window" menu. Be careful. Make certain you have the exact menu choice typed in.

Why isn't the switch tab group shortcut documented

I had to search the web for quite a while to find the shortcut to switch between tab groups (ctrl+`). I found it on a non-mozilla web page. Why doesn't mozilla doesn't document this properly on this keyboard shortcuts page?

It's a wiki, so anyone can make the edit. I've added "Next Tab Group" and "Previous Tab Group" (with the Shift modifier), but my changes need to be reviewed and approved.
The funny thing is that I found this hotkey by accidentally hitting it when going for Ctrl+Tab. I'd read the hotkeys list when Firefox 4 was released, but I didn't remember it being listed here.

Technically it is the Grave Accent ` (aka reverse quote) under the tilda ~ key. Tilda ~ is shifted, and Grave Accent ` is not.

The "switch tab groups" shortcut, which is Ctrl+` is not working when I use cyrilic layout, because the ` corresponds to ч. Is there a way to make it always use the ` key no matter of the keyboard layout (the way Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V shortcuts work on Windows)

go to system preferences->keyboard->keyboard shortcuts->keyboard and text input and redefine this shortcut. I don't know what it's called in Italian but in English the shortcut is "move focus to next window in application".

I'm looking for the fastest way to switch codes, which is displayed top of the workspace as htmlcode, css, js.
I've found some information that there is a shortcut for that, and that is Cmd-' (that's the ~ key) (control+tab for windows).
But unfortunately, it didn't work at my PC.
So whould you tell me the neme of the categoly and item in the shortcut setting menu, at which I can set/change the shortcut for "switch to next tab".

you may want to try this extension - mru-tabs-switch. I wrote it for mylself (since could not find anything similar) and it works pretty well for me. Switch by Control+1.

Firefox29 cannot close or switch tabs on OSX10

clicking on a tab no longer switches to corresponding tab window
no way to close tab; the 'x' is gone and right clicking the tab just shows the customize menu for the browser
this rendered it unusable for me and I had to switch back to FF 28

You will have to disable the extension for now. I see you went back to Firefox 28 (a lot easier on your health). It was really a pain trying to switch tabs strictly through the "List all tabs" drop-down, and use Ctrl+T, and Ctrl+W (or for you with the Mac Cmd key ⌘ ).

Firefox 29 made changes to Tabs, and removal of the Addons Bar. since you also show Status-4-Evar in your "MORE SYSTEM DETAILS" you use the Addons bar and have a problem there as well. You also have another extension one with the word "tab" in it "Old Firefox Tab 1.0" which could be affected as well.
Either of these extensions will restore the addons bar, I prefer
[https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/the-addon-bar/ The Addon Bar (restored)] which I prefer because I have tabs on the bottom.

Both extensions preserve "Ctrl+/" shortcut to toggle the Add-ons bar.

Open your Displays system preferences. Is there an Arrangement tab and does it show two screens? If no Arrangement tab then your mac does not know it has two screens. Maybe smc and pram reset will shake it free and maybe not. Maybe there's something wrong with the connection. Is there a keyboard shortcut to switch windows in safari? As I muse internet banking, the working page opens in a new window, but to get back to the Origional page I have to use the mouse to hold over the safari icon to see windows, and click on the other page.
Does this make sense?? I would like to know if there is a short cut like the Comand Tab to switch windows ??
