Shortening accordion widget buttons MUSE

Hi guys
I was wondering how to shorten the accordion widget buttons in muse. They seem unable to reduce below a certain width and I would like the left and right edges to be closer to my text/
Any suggestion would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
- Coen

Personally I would try the tabbed panel widget instead. Then you would have narrower links but they would be beside each other instead of on top of each other.
Another option may be to go with no border and then add a similar graphic as i fill that is narrower and centered.

  • Accordion widget crashing Muse after 3-4 articles adding attempt.

Hi! I made in MUSE web design and have BC web Marketing plan.
I must put in one page at least 12 long articles in 12 different languages like there are: Манифест
In fact - accordion widget crashing Muse after 3-4 articles adding attempt.
In blog module not possible to use something like Read More!
    Can you advise me?
    Thank you!

How exactly you are adding documents to accordion widget ?
Regarding read more , in Blog list layout you can use {tag_blogpostbodypreview,Text} where the text can be "Read More", this tag will Display a preview of the first paragraph of your blog post. Replace "Text" with the relevant words to link to see the entire post.

  • Customizing/recreating the Accordion widget in Muse

I want to use the accordion widget, but I can't figure out how to flip it to work horizontally. Is there a way to flip or rotate in Muse? If not is there way to recreate an accordion menu that opens horizontally?
    Thanks.

You sure can, just download the widget from link below and copy and paste into your design then customize as you like.

  • Accordion widget buttons not hot all the way across

I have discovered that the accordion buttons are not hot all the way across. They are only clickable on the right and left sides with a dead spot in the middle. Is this a setting or a bug?

I figured out the problem, actually. It's that I have the Course Companion
Widget on all my screens and it's laying on top of the widget. I didn't
know it could block the interactivity. I thought it ran in the background,
basically. So I have to make it smaller and move it off to the side to keep
    it from blocking the buttons.
    Thanks for your response!

  • Accordion Widget is limited to 5 buttons?

In the accordion widget properties you seem to be only able to add just one button, making a total of only 5 possible buttons.  That seems very, very limited - is there a way to add more button, like 12?

Hello and welcome to the forum,
No, it is limited to 5, has to do with space needed for the dropdowns. And really, it is not a good idea to have too much content on one slide. Is it not possible to spread content over more than one slide? Or use one of the other interactions that allow you to have more 'buttons'?

  • Remove button from accordion widget

Ok, I know this HAS to be simple and right in front of my face - But, I can't for the life of me find where to remove a button from the accordion widget of Captivate v6.  The default comes with 4 accordion buttons but I only need 3.  How do I get rid of the fourth???
    Thanks in advance.

Select a button and you'll see a minus sign appearing, click it and the button will be removed.

  • HTML inserted into a MUSE accordion widget issue

In Adobe MUSE 2014.3.1.44, I have inserted an HTML snippet into a MUSE accordion widget:
    <script type=”text/javascript” src=”https://burkeauto.workstiming.com/external/next_available_time.js”></script>
When published all I see is the clock numbers to the top left corner of the page—no other page content and no accordion—just the unformatted clock at the top left corner.
The snippet works fine outside the accordion widget.
When not inside the accordion the HTML frame is normal, but as soon as I insert it into the accordion it adopts the attributes like other widgets, with the round blue icon on the top right corner of the frame and a stripped down context menu.
Adobe chat support has duplicated this on their end and suggested that I post the issue in the forum.
    Any thoughts?

    Brad,
Thanks for helping think this through!
First, yes, that is the whole script. There are actually two scripts (clocks) I want on a single page:
    <script type="text/javascript" src="https://burkeauto.workstiming.com/external/next_available_time.js"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="https://burkeautomall.workstiming.com/external/next_available_time.js"></script>
They can be seen properly functioning together here:  http://www.burkeauto.com/starttimes.html
I have been requested to put the page content from the above link in an accordion widget seen here:  http://www.burkeauto.com/genuine.html
Click on the Light Maintenance Service tab. This is where the two scripts (clocks) are to go. Currently by clicking "CLICK HERE FOR NEXT AVAILABLE START" I am linking to page with the scripts/clocks outside the accordion.
I tried the script/clock in the accordion and publishing the site with the Light Maintenance Service tab open—still does not work.
As mentioned in the original post, Adobe could replicate the issue, but did not offer any resolution, and the forum has been quite on my post.
    Any other thoughts?

  • Accordion widget footer open upwards - Adobe Muse - Help!

I created an accordion widget footer that opens upwards by pinning the widget to the bottom of the browser -- like so: http://310ai.businesscatalyst.com/retail.html
However, my goal is for the footer to be open by default, and to collapse back down to the bottom of the page on click. I had created this, (it worked!) and it collapsed beautifully just like the above link does after you open it. But I am unable to duplicate those results. Here's what happens when I set the footer to be open by default: http://310ai.businesscatalyst.com/retail-copy.html
Can someone help us figure out how to make this widget behave consistently? Thank you!

    Hello,
You are facing this is issue because Composition widget was not collapsed. Please collapse the widget as the screenshot below and you will be all set.
First pic shows how it should be and second image shows its worng state.

  • How do I add a new panel to the accordion widget in-between two others (NOT at the end)

In the accordion widget, the + button at the bottom adds a new panel to the end. I have a series of panels that are in alpha-sort and need to add a new panel in the middle... I can't figure out how to do it without re-doing the whole thing. is there a way to do this?

    Gah! Thanks Mac.
That was the first thing I tried! I must not have had the right level selected. It's been driving me batty, but I've got it now.

  • How would I use my html5 Music Store Widget in Muse?

I would like to "place" or insert my music store widget into muse, and have a visual of where it sits on the page... Is this possible?

Figured it out... It's so simple and obviouse, I feel dumb for asking... HTML5 scripts can be place and sized with the text tool... Copy your html or html5 script and paste into text box, size it with transform, and wahlah! In browser preview and there it sits... Seems any legit script works... Hope this helps users that come from copy and paste, drag and drop web editors like me.. Music players, Social buttons, etc...

  • Accordion widget not pushing content down

I followed the instructions for putting the menu inside the accordion widget. It has worked great for me in the past. But now, the menu just shows up behind the content. I've looked at several discussions, and I have everything set up correctly. No scroll effects, etc. I followed the step-by-step instructions on Lynda.com and in an earlier version of Muse it was perfect. Now it isn't. Here is the business catalyst site URL.  pitv.businesscatalyst.com. Appreciate your help.

  • Accordion Widget on Tablet or Phone

Here is a problem or flaw.  If you deploy an Accordion Widget on an phone or table MUSE site, and a user opens one of the Accordion tabs and scrolls to the BOTTOM of its contents.  Then if the user opens the next Accordion tab, that one automatically opens at the BOTTOM of its OWN contents, which is very confusing to users.  There needs to be a DEFAULT SETTING such as "Always open at the top of the contents."
Does anyone know of a workaround for this bug?

Hi, this is the BC forums, you probably want to post this in the Muse forum for the Muse team as this is releated to a feature of that not the BC platform itself.

  • Accordion widget browser panel height

I am using the accordion widget browser and would like to shorten the height of the
panels - how can I do this...

    I found the solution!
    Sample of before: www.muohio.edu/lll/studyabroadweek/index2.html
    Sampe of after: www.muohio.edu/lll/studyabroadweek.
The solution was at: http://docs.jquery.com/UI/Accordion#options  but was a bit difficult for me to figure out how to implement it... after a bit of experiment - I got it!
In your .html document, at the beginning of the widget look for the code in black.  Code in bold red is what was needed to solve the issue.
    $(function(){
                    // Accordion
                    $("#jQueryUIAccordion").accordion({ header: "h3",
                                                animated: "slide",
                                                event: "click",
                                                collapsible : "false",
                                                autoHeight: false

  • Spry Accordion Widget Behavior

I am using Dreamweaver CS3 and several Spry components. I am new to using Spry, but like how easy it is to impliment. One of the components I am trying to use is the Accordion Widget. The widget appears to function well (I am using variable panel heights) and the behavior appears as designed.
I am using the panel containers to list links to additional pages based on subject groups.
My question involves moving back and forth from the widget page to a listed pages, then back to the widget page.
    The behavior I see is:
    1)      User loads widget page, widget panel 1 is expanded onload.
    2)      User expands different panel.
    3)      User clicks URL link within different panel.
    4)      User moves to new page (referenced URL page).
    5)      User reviews content, decides it is not appropriate and wants to select another URL.
    6)      User clicks the browser “back” button and returns to the widget page.
    7)      Widget page onload returns to expanded panel 1.
Is there a way for me to tweak the JavaScript so that the user returns to the expanded panel they left rather that panel 1? Is panel 1 always going to be the panel that opens on page load? (Unless I have the settings set to no expanded panes on page load.)
    Thanke you for any suggestions.

    Greetings Arnout,
Sorry for the late reply. (Side-tracked with other work.)
I have a "outside-the-firewall" review area almost complete if you still have time to look at my code.
After testing several browsers and 2 platforms I have found that my problem is likely not with your code at all, but with small modifications that I have had to do to it. For example, I will need to have 2 separate Accordion blocks on the page I am developing.
When I drop Dreamweaver generated Spry code into the page the <div class="Accordion" ID="Accordion1"> is created (which suits my future needs, the additional block will have <div class="Accordion" ID="Accordion2">. I noticed that your code uses <div class="Accordion" ID="sampleAccordion">.
If I go through the cookie code and change all references of "sampleAccordion" to "Accordion1" the code breaks. I am missing something and haven't been able to find it.
Additionally, I noticed something odd when testing the widget. When testing using a Mac (Safari and Firefox) it appeared I didn't need the cookie code at all. The unmodified Dreamweaver Spry code appeared to hold the value of the launch panel when I moved from my launch page, to my receiver page, then back to my launch page.
This wasn't the case with Windows IE and Firefox. IE 6 appears broken onLoad, IE 8 and Firefox breaks when I go back to the launch page from the receiver page. Very odd behaviors. Tonight I will load your original code on a test page and add testing notes so that I have a "control".
The URL for the (several) test pages is: http://tim.kern.home.comcast.net/~tim.kern/
If you have any suggestions (for modifying the cookie code to work with more than one widget on a page) I would certainly appreciat them.
Thank you very much for the original code.

  • Content below Accordion widget not moving?

I want to have content below the accordion widget to slide down when one of the panels is open.  Right now the accordion widget slides behind the content when one of the panels is open. I have "Overlap Items Below" checked.
From the Lynda.com site: " The Accordion panel now includes an option to Overlap Items Below. When selected, content below the Accordion panel will move down on the page as an Accordion panel is opened/expanded."
    thanks

That seems like a typographical omission on Lynda.com's blog.
You need to uncheck that option to move the content below accordion down upon opening the panel.
Please check below excerpt from Muse Release Notes here: http://helpx.adobe.com/muse/release-note/adobe-muse-release-notes.html
The Accordion panel now includes an option to "Overlap Items Below". When selected content below the Accordion panel will not move down on the page as an Accordion panel is opened/expanded.
