Shortest path to re-enable iTunes Match on Mac?

I like to check out what's popular in ITMS around the world, but when switching stores, iTunes Match is disabled. Currently, what I have to do to re-enable it is the following:
1. Click Sign In
2. Log In
3. Told I have to switch (back) to USA, click ok
4. Select Turns on iTunes Match from Menu
5. Click Add my computer
6. Enter password
Finally done.
Any shortcuts I am unaware of to shorten the number of steps?
Thanks!

It's a losing battle for record labels if they think, in this day and age, they can somehow prevent us from seeing what music is sold in other countries. For me, it's about seeing what is popular in other countries where my music tastes are more in sync with.
Anyway, guess I'll just have to do deal with my six steps.

  • HT4913 If the music library on my iPhone will be deleted when I enable iTunes Match, does that mean that I will not be able to access that music library when I temporarily turn off iTunes Match on the iPhone, e.g., when on the subway & can't connect to Ma

I have subscribed to iTunes Match and have employed it to listen to music on my Macbook Air and iMac.  On these devices it seems to operate by streaming music to the device rather than deleting the device's current iTunes library and downloading songs as they are played from iTunes Match. Not so on the iPhone as far as I can tell. Consequently, to date I have not activated iTunes Match on my iPhone 4S.  I presently have 40-50GB's of music on my iPhone, sync'd from my iTunes music library on my Macbook Air.  I am concerned that if I enable iTunes Match on my iPhone I will lose the music library already on my iPhone, as Apple seems to be representing that once iTunes Match is enabled on the iPhone the current music library, carefully compiled, will be gone from the iPhone forever (unless I later re-sync it from the iTunes library on my laptop), that it will be deleted.  Although this would free up a lot of space on my iPhone, I bought the 64GB phone just so that I could keep a lot of music on it and accessible at all times.  I am concerned that in certain instances, say if I am in the subway and want to listen to music on my iPhone but  don't have internet access below ground, that I won't have much music to listen to, only those songs previously played and thus downloaded onto the phone from iMatch, presenting me witrh a rather limited choice of music to play instead of the 40-50GB's I now have to choose from. Apple seems to have presented me with the choice of the lesser of 2 evils: i) enable iTunes Match and lose the music library already on the iPhone in exchange for access to iTunes Match and a greater number of songs than I can fit onto the phone (my library exceeds the phone's capacity) when a Cloud connection is available or ii) don't enable iTunes match and limit myself to only those songs, a considerable portion of my library to be sure but not all of it, that I can fit in the phone's storage space, i.e., the 40-50 GB's I have on there now.  If I choose the latter course, each time I purchase an album I'll have to delete another album to make room for it on the phone.  Apple thus offers me a sort of Hobson's choice, bad all the way around.  Do I have this right? The Apple techs I've spoken to don't seem to have a handle on the "deletion" aspect of enabling iTunes Match on the iPhone.   Right now, I'm too scared of "losing" my iPhone music library to enable iTunes Match on the iPhone. [Possible work-around, albeit a pain in the ***: I suppose that I can enable iTunes Match on the iPhone and spend the next couple of weeks 24/7 downloading songs from my iTunes Match library back onto the phone to replace at least some of those deleted when Match was enabled, thereby rebuilding a proxy library on the phone itself to play when I'm stuck in a tunnel between Brooklyn and Manhattan while maintaining access to thee larger iTunes Match library, more music than my phone will hold, once we come back into the light and my Cloud connection is restored.] Comments, suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you.

  • On i-pad, when try to enable itunes match, it says, "you are not currently subscribed to iTunes Match. Use iTunes on your computer to subscribe." I am subscribed though! Then it says no my request and item not available in the U.S. store. WWJD?

On i-pad, when I try to enable itunes match, it says, "you are not currently subscribed to iTunes Match. Use iTunes on your computer to subscribe." I am subscribed though! Then it says no to my request and, "item not available in the U.S. store." My Mac will not use update iTunes to any later version than the one I have because my os is also out of date, but when I try to update that i cant, so what do I have to do?  Please don't tell me I have to buy a new Mac to be up to date.

On the iOS device you must be logged into the store with the exact same Apple ID you used to originally purchase the service. Go to Setting > iTunes & App Stores and if necessary sign out/in and then enable iTM.

  • I downloaded music from iTunes onto my iPad. I enabled iTunes Match on my PC (where most of my music is stored). When I turned on iTunes Match on iPad it said the iPad music library would be replaced. How do I use iTunes Match without losing  iPad music.

I bought music from iTunes and downloaded it to my iPad. I have enabled iTunes Match on my PC (where most of my music is stored). When I turned on iTunes Match on iPad it said "iTunes Match will replace the music library" on my iPad. All of my iPad music is saved on iCloud, and some of my PC music is on iCloud. If I use iTunes Match will the music previously downloaded on my iPad be lost?
    Thanks!!

You need to either sync the iPad with iTunes so it will transfer the purchases to the iTunes library or download them from the purchase history. Then let iTM work on the "new" tracks in the library then all the music will be available on the iPad.

  • I enabled itunes match on my iOS device and it deleted my music. Only very recent iTunes purchases are left

How do I get my music back??

    Trust me, everything is OK!
When you enable iTunes Match, the only way to have your music on the device is downloading it from iTunes in the cloud. You can't share the songs through iTunes with the cable anymore.
Go to Settings > Music > Show All (turn this to ON)
** it's supposed iTunes Match will be ON too
Setting this, all music you have already on iTunes Match will apear on your device.
    Hope it solves

  • HT204074 will i lose the music on my decive if i enable itunes match

Will I lose the music on my iphone if I enable itunes match?

You will not "lose" your music, since:
    1) it is already stored in your computer
    or
    2) you have it available from the itunes store, if you bought the tracks there.
These two methods are the only options to get music into the phone, so you can't lose a single track.
However, if you chose to enable iTunes match in your device, it will erase the music that is already stored in your phone, and you will have to load it from the cloud. I assume this is the answer that you are looking for. Hope this helps.

  • I tried enabling iTunes match and now the option is gone completely!

I was wondering if anyone has a solution to this...I was having issues initially with my iPhone not recognizing that I had iTunes match enabled, so I re-enabled it on my Mac. When I went to enable it under Settings->Music, it allowed me to switch on "Enable iTunes Match", but then the option immidiately disappeared (See screenshot). iTunes Match is currently not running on my phone and I cannot get the option to enable/disable it to populate whatsoever. I've tried soft reseting multiple times (Holding down the home+power button for 10 seconds) with no avail. Does anyone know any solutions to this issue? I would greatly appreciate any help I can get.

Make sure you have current versions of iTunes and iOS.
Try tapping Settings > Store > Apple ID, sign out and sign back in.
If that doesn't do it, try restoring the iPhone.

  • How to enable itunes match?

My husband and I share a computer and he bought itunes match.  So when he is logged in as the user he tries to put his ID and password in to enable itunes match but it says there is already a password for this computer.  We are not sure what to do next. Any suggestions?

Only one Apple ID can be associated to a computer for iTunes Match at a time; there is a 90-day limit on switching associations. There is no getting around this.

  • Can we delete songs in iCloud without having to subscribe or enable iTunes Match?

I'm having issues with the hidden songs in iCloud. They always show up in my download queue when I update iTunes or redownload iTunes. Is there a way to delete the songs from iCloud without enabling iTunes Match?
Thanks for the help! Or the ideas.

You cannot delete anything from your purchase history in icloud at all.

  • HT204406 I enabled iTunes Match on multiple devices. When I change certain playlists they update fine on the other devices, but i have a playlist on my macbook pro that cannot be seen on my other devices.  How do I correct this?

I just enabled iTunes Match on multiple devices in my house.  At first, almost all the playlists were duplicated.  I manually deleted the playlists back to one entry per playlist...a real pain.  I could see changes made on one device updating on the other devices for almost all my playlists...which told me things were working correctly.  But....There are a couple of playlists on my Macbook Pro that won't update to my other devices, like my desktop.  What gives?

You can sign in on multiple devices to use iTunes Match but it must be with the exact same Apple ID you used to purchase the service. You will need to sign out of the existing ID on the devcies and sign in with the new one.

    Yes.

  • How come itunes match takes up so much space on an iphone even before you download any songs? I noticed my storage space went down about 1gb after enabling itunes match before I downloaded anything.

A couple things about itunes match. First, why does it take up so much space before you download any songs when you enable it on an iphone? Also, why does it not give back that space when you disable itunes match? It would also be very appreciated if Apple would add a confirmation check to itunes match in settings when you disable it - the same way they do when you enable it. More then once I have disabled itunes match when I meant to disable show all music, and it is a pain to wait for itunes match to go through the whole process of enabling itself again.

It is not a bug. However you may leave your polite feedback for Apple at this page: http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html

  • Enabled itunes match now itunes wont import music

Recently enabled iTunes on my computer, now iTunes 10 won't import any music, which is annoying as a lot of my music still needs to be imported, and I don't mean to the cloud i mean to the actual sofware.
Has anyone had the same problem, any way to fix it??

Three solutions or workarounds I have seen as this clearly is a bug. I do not use iTunes match and have never seen these issues myself
    1) Store > Update iTunes Match if you have it turned on
    2) Logout of iTunes Store and login again
    3) Download the free single of the week. I have no idea why this works but some people have said it worked for them

  • Should I enable iTunes match on my iPhone?

So, I finally gave in and got itunes Match. Mostly because I wanted to have my library available on my ATV2. It worked good, but now wondering if it's worth it to enable it on my iphone 4s? I already have my entire library on it. What happens to the music that's already on there? I'm a little hesitant to pull the switch. Thoughts?

If you already have your entire music collection on your phone, it doesn't make sense to activate itunes match on it, since it will erase all your tracks, and songs will be downloaded on demand, as you want to listen. You can, however, activate itunes match and, after all your music gets erased, transfer it again to the phone via itunes... but i don't know if this makes sense (it kinda defeats the purpose of itunes match).
itunes match is very useful in the scenario that your entire music collection doesn't fit in your device's memory, because you can have all your music available, despite the fact that you don't have enough memory to have it stored (you need an internet connection, though).
But... in your particular case, you may want to free up some space to store more apps, load some movies or photos, so, you can activate itunes match to have more space for that, but without sacrificing the availability of your entire music library.
