I've had a similar problem with black not printing, though my printer is a B8550. I bought new and have used it fairly lightly I'd say, but after only a couple of years it suddenly stopped printing the photo black (it has separate cartridges for black for photos and black for text, etc.).
It prints on regular printer paper just fine using the other black--but not a drop prints of the Photo Black (yes, it's full). Since I've cleaned the print head, and even bought a new one, and a diagnostic print shows absolutely no trace of the photo black, I'm fairly sure the printer itself is at fault. It's sold as a 'Photosmart' printer, meaning it's intended to use to print photos--large format too--so without photo black it is a huge brick as far as I'm concerned.
I've begun to notice from these forum posts that there is an issue with HP and black ink, or at least whatever controls black for photo papers in their inkjet printers. If I'm not mistaken both yours and mine use the 564 cartridges, so maybe that suggests a common factor in such printers that is the culprit. I suspect HP knows there is a problem, either with the hardware or firmware, and I wish they would do right by us.

hi. suddenly yesterday when i try to print anything from my documents which i use microsoft office 2010 , it is spewing out blank pages.
it sounds as if it is printing but nothing comes on the paper, i have new inks in and if i use a craft program it will print.
i have done the help doctor program and it says eveything is okay and prints a test paper
anyone any ideas please

Does this printer have a removeable print cartridge and was there a long period of time that the printer was not used? Have you tried performing the automated print-head cleaining? Do that three times as well.

Printer spits out blank pages v8.1.3

When I hit print button, my printer spits out blank pages
(about the same number as there are pages in the pdf document). The
printer works fine with other programs (Word, Excel etc.) but not
with the Acrobat 8.1.3
What gives?

Printer shoots out blank pages

When I try to print from the internet (articles, plane boarding pass, etc) the printer shoots out 3-4 blank pages. I must email everything to myself and then print from that account. How can I print directly from the internet (steps required)?

Sometimes web pages won't print their content
consistently, so making a pdf of the page first
may help; and notice when you go to print a
page that was saved as PDF if the file page
looks blank to the print section's Preview.
Sometimes even PDFs look blank to Preview
mode in the print section, of the web page
content is not something readily seen by the
browser and Preview.
And on occasion, using a different browser
may help. For general pdf issues, if Preview
will not give you a good result, try Acrobat's
Reader. They've renamed it a few times, and
some files still prefer that over Preview in OSX.
On rare occasions, I have had to make screenshot
images of web pages to get a printable content.
That is OK, as far as one can drag to select; since
the page will not scroll when trying to get a larger
than desktop size screenshot selective capture.
There has to be a more definitive answer to this.
In Panther, it was not as apparent; in Tiger it is.

HP c4280 printing out blank pages

No matter whether it is color or black, it prints completely blank pages. It sounds like it is doing the print job, but comes out blank. This printer has not been used in 3 or 4 months, but I know the cartridges have ink in them. Is it possible that I need fresh cartridges or could this be caused by something else?

I forgot to add that im using windows vista home basic and this is the first time using the printer on this computer. I did install the drivers though.

HP Photosmart 6510 not printing black ink at all, spitting out blank pages

Hey,
My printer was working til I switched black cartridges cuz I was very low on ink and then tried to print and it won't print anything that is black or even greyscale, colors are working fine but I don't have enough color ink to print the documents I need for school. I have tried cleaning printheads multiple times, tried venting the cartridge and everything, don't know what to do, HELP !!!

Have you completed all of the steps in the following document; Printer Does Not Print Black Ink or Color Ink, or Prints Blank Pages.

My HP wireless printer prints out blank pages.

This printer used to work well.
It does not put any ink on the page.
Seems to put out the same number of pages as the document.
There are no error messages.

This sounds like an issue that could result from having A4 sized paper but having the printer settings set for A size. Please check the paper settings.

My HP Photosmart C4780 just shoots out blank pages when I try to print anything from the internet.

Welcome to the HP Community ,  I noticed your post about your Officejet 6100 now printing out blank pages after changing the ink cartridges, and wanted to reach out to you with my own suggestions. I would say to have a look at the guide below and try the troubleshooting steps to see if they can clear up the blank page printing concern. You can also power reset the printer and make sure the printer is plugged in directly to the wall outlet, avoiding power bars and surge protectors. This ensures the printer is receiving full power. If the issue continues, please contact HP directly to see about a replacement printer if the printer is still under warranty, and if not, perhaps they may have a trade in option. Troubleshooting guide: HP Officejet 6100 ePrinter Series (H611) - Troubleshooting Print Quality Issues Reset Instructions:Turn the printer on.
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the unit.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the unit.

HP Photosmart 7400 series = Blank Page?

Hey I have been having this issue for about a year now and whats happening is when i print something out i get what i want printed out but i also get a blank page for every page i print out. This isnt to bad but its just so tedious and annoying to have to fish out blank pages of what i printed out. Has anyone else had this problem and can anyone help me fix this problem?

REPORT SERVER 6i Patch1 PRINTING BLANK PAGES

I have a problem that is occouring on three different report servers. It will start printing blank pages instead of the report and the only way to get it back to normal is to stop and reastart the service. I get this on a version 6, version 6i and version 6i patch1 report servers. It makes no difference what call method I use (command line or OCX control). I can also force this behavior on one of the servers by selecting a HP 895C as the default printer in the windows printers and then starting the service. All pages print blank after that. At the customers site it appears to be random as to when it will start printing the blank pages.
Any ideas on what the fix is for this?

We have a Reports 6i server up and running and I'm getting stuff out OK to postscript printers, but some HP older printers are just spitting out blank pages. Is there a desformat= that I need to set differently? I've tried most of the options ( dec, psport, psland, hpl... all blank )
Appreciate any help, I haven't used this stuff long, so am quite naive about how it hangs together.

HP LaserJet 4MP Printing Blank Pages

Hi there,
This is perhaps OT, but a recent issue with my HP LJ 4MP is causing me great anguish and heartache.
Suddenly, for no apparent reason, my HP is producing blank pages. It just runs and runs spewing out blank pages.
I've tried all the IO resets and a cold reset. Unplugging and leaving idle. Unplugged the Asante bridge between the serial and the CAT 5.
After a while I can get it to stop printing blank pages, it works fine for a while, then the interminable blank pages start again.
Has anyone seen such an issue? Any known resolution?

I too use HP LaserJet 4MP and AssanteTalk Bridge connected to computer via ethernet crossover cable and link from Assante to both my LJ4MP and HPDeskJet855cse, using BelKin QuikNet adapters in a string using RJ11 jumper cables.
My HP driver software is HP8.1.1.
I Never use "BackGround Printing".
I Never use "DeskTop Print Monitor".
The only time I can remember multiple blank copies is when I used to use "Print Monitor and BackGround Printing".
Clear your preferences and get rid of Print Monitor and Don't use BackGround Printing.

Framemaker 8. Landscape Chapters adding blank page every other page.

Hi,
I am currently using FrameMaker 8 to create my book. I have multiple chapters, both Landscape and Portrait. I use Framescript > Scripts > Insert Reports to insert PDF documents into my chapters. I have an excel spreadsheet that has two columns code/pdf file name that the Framscript uses to insert the report. I insert a code into the chapter, and from that code it references the matching PDF file to insert.
I have been running this without any issues until now, because now in the Landscape chapters it is adding a blank page between all my pages. So every other page is blank. For example if the PDF file had 2 pages now I have 2 pages and 2 blank pages. On the blank page I do have a symbol (RS Report Spacer) that appears. I could delete it and the blank page goes away. But this can be troublesome since I have hundreds of pages and every time I run my book the blank pages will reappear.
I have tried Pagination to delete blank pages but to no avail. It does not delete the blank page. The weird part is that for my Portrait chapters this problem does not occur. I am writing this with a small glimmer of hope somebody can help me.

I read your post about your printing out blank pages from your Windows 8 system however, this issue does not occur on another PC. In the details you have mentioned, it seems to be an issue with the software on your Windows 8 system, as the other computer does not have a problem. To test this theory, try printing from another program to see if blank pages will still print out. This way, we will know if the problem is originating in one specific program, or in the printer driver.
Skipping ahead a little bit, try running the Print and Scan Doctor. This diagnostic tool will check for any conflicts that could be causing the issue. The tool will show you a report at the end. If there was a problem that the tool could not fix, you will notice it in the results.
Try printing again, and if any blank pages still print out, try Uninstalling the Printer Software, restarting the computer completely, and download and reinstall the printer here: HP Photosmart Full Feature Software and Drivers
Please write me back with your findings and all of the results from your troubleshooting. Include which programs you have tested out and any other helpful information you may have came across.

Certain PDF files only print blank pages

I recently upgraded to Adobe Pro 9 Windows. Everything was great until I received a couple pdf files by email this morning that I needed to print and sign. All other pdf files on my computer print fine. These two pdf files go to the printer but only print out blank pages. Any thoughts?

My printer light blinks like it's receiving something, but then never prints. The light stops blinking and the printer icon in the corner goes away like it thinks it printed.
I'm puzzled too. I've never not been able to print a PDF file. I've also never worked so hard to do so! Frustrating to say the least.
Each page printed as an image (the only way it will print at all) takes about 2-3 minutes to print ... EACH PAGE. Ugh. A real time waster for sure.
