Should Apple Replace Screen Protector on Replaced iPhone??

I'm debating whether or not to make a stink about this, but I have had my iPhone 4 replaced twice since I got it the end of July. Both times it had a screen protector on it. The second time I had literally just gotten the protector in the mail and put it on the phone. I asked them to replace it because it was not my fault the hardware on the phone failed and had to be replaced, but they wouldn't solely because it wasn't an item they carry. First of all, the Apple Store doesn't carry screen protectors?? Really? And second, so if it was an item they carried they'd replace it? I don't understand.
Has anyone had a similar experience or can answer my question whether this is worth pursuing or not? I know it's only like $20 out of my pocket, but it's $20 I didn't have to waste if Apple's hardware hadn't failed, twice.

I believe an Apple store does sell screen protectors, but they may not sell the screen protector you purchased and had installed in the mall. I don't believe an Apple store installs a screen protector when purchased at an Apple store. Regardless, I'm pretty sure this is not covered under the warranty.
And second, so if it was an item they carried they'd replace it? I don't understand.
A good question for this Apple store.

  • Should i use screen protector on my iphone 6 plus or not?????

should i use screen protector or not for my iphone 6 plus or not????

On most of my iPhone's past, I didn't use one.  But I do have one on my iPhone 6.  There's more glass and since they now make screen protectors out of tempered glass with oleophobic coating, it seemed a good idea to protect the larger screen area.  6 Plus is even larger, with more glass.
So ask yourself this.  Which would you be more upset about seeing a scratch on?  The iPhone screen itself, or a simple not very expensive, replaceable screen protector?

No. You can exchange it for a replacement refurb: iPhone Service Support and Costs, Your cost would be for an out-of-warranty exchange.

  • Should you put a screen protector on the iphone if the case is going to be a otterbox defender?

I am trying to figure out if I need a screen protector on my iphone 4s if I am using a Otterbox Defender.  The salesman suggested I should but I know a lot of people who do not use any screen protection on other cases/shells.

I never used a screen protector while my iPhone was in the Defender case. The Otterbox case is engineered to protect your device. I'm not sure why the salesman suggested you use both. I used the Otterbox Defender case for a little over a year and my iPhone was flawless when I removed it. Hope this helps.

Prior to putting a Verizon brand screen protector onto our Samsung u370 touchscreen phone, the advice in post # 48 was helpful to me; some of the other posts following that one also have some helpful information

Even if you're wearing latex gloves, try your best to not touch the side of the screen protector with the adhesive -- some substance invisible to my eyes that was on the fingertips of a new pair of latex gloves prevented the screen protector from sticking to the screen after I touched the adhesive side.
So far we've been happy with the Verizon brand screen protector.

  • I have just put a screen protector on my iphone 4 and where there was something on the film it seems to have eaten into the screen. is there a way to clean these marks off

    Help,
i have just put a screen protector on my iphone 4 and where there was something on the film it seems to have eaten into the screen. is there a way to clean these marks off?

I wouldn't worry.  Assuming you haven't hacked the phone you cannot have installed any viruses or spyware just by clicking a link in an email.  Sounds like the page you accessed could not be read on the phone anyway, or it was just a dead link.

  • Does apple replace iphone 4s with broken screen?

I want to learn about the apple replacement program. thanks!

If your iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad is Broken
Apple does not fix iDevices. Instead, they exchange yours for a refurbished or new replacement depending upon the age of your device and refurbished inventories. On rare occasions when there are no longer refurbished units for your older model, they may replace it with the next newer model.
ATTN: Beginning July 2013 Apple Stores are now equipped to do screen repairs/replacements in-house on iPhone 5s. In some cases while you wait. According to Apple this is the beginning of equipping Apple Stores with the resources needed to do most repairs for iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches that would not require major replacements. Later in the year the services may be extended as Apple Stores become equipped and staffed with the proper repair expertise. So, if you need a screen repaired or a broken screen replaced or have your stuck Home button fixed, call your local Apple Store to see if they are now doing these in-house.

  • Does Apple Replace iPhone 4's even if the only problem is the Battery?

My iPhone has a battety problem. What will apple do with my iPhone would they fix it or give me a replacement phone?

Since it's still under warranty, they should just replace the phone altogether.

  • Does Apple replace iPhones that are chipped?

I accidentally dropped my iPhone 4 on concrete, and the sides are chipped. But the screen isn't cracked. Does Apple replace/repair that, or?

They will fix it, but it will cost you. I would call and ask. That is not covered under warranty.

  • Should I use a screen protector for an iPhone 6 Plus?

I just bought an iPhone 6 Plus and can't decide if I want/need a screen protector on it. I take great care of my phones and do not set it carelessly down on any surface.

    Yes.
We were going without for the first time, and after only 2 weekes,  my wife just showed me a hairline scratch on hers.  She says it could not possibly have happened, but it did.
I just ordered screen protectors for both of ours.

  • Does apple replace iPhone 5 the used one with refurbished one

I got replaced my Iphone5 with some issues and when i set my back up data
I need to log in my Apple ID... and It just popped up with unknown apple ID.. even it was not one ID.. there were couple of different ID...
so.. i thought maybe the ID were preveous owners?
I did not want to get refurbished phone..;; coz I already had the issue with my phone before... and I dont want to go through AGAIN!!!
Is it normally? Apple use refurbished one to replacement?? and.. even.. It looks like not a one time they replace with this iphone5...

Yes, Apple  replaces defective phones with refurbished ones. However they wipe them clean, and guarantee they have no flaws before giving them to customers.
Is very unlikely they would leave someone elses Apple ID on it.
There were some issues with the iTunes and Apple stores that may have been responsible for odd apple iDs popping up, as several users reported as much.
