Should cancelled mailbox moves result in any moved mail data removed from target server?

I was moving mailboxes from 1 DB to another. 3 out of 120 were left running for 12 hours; they were the biggest ones and it was very slow to process the items. There were also reports of slowness on the server so I had no choice but to cancel the moves.
My question is should cancelled mailbox moves result in any moved mail data being removed from the target database? It doesn't appear that my disk as increased in space again so I'm wondering if it's there as whitespace maybe? There is an event logged to say
the mailbox has been deleted from the target.
Would appreciate if someone can clear this up and possibly explain exactly what occurs during this type of scenario.

In Exchange 2000, 2003 and 2007 mailboxes become unavailable during movement, when a mailbox move takes place, the mailbox isn't actually moved, it's just copied to the destination location. Once that copy has finished, AD is updated to point to the new location
and the old mailbox is deleted from the source EDB file.
The most different between Exchange 2010 and legacy version in move mailbox is that allows end-users to be online in their email accounts. On completing the move users just needs to reopen their Outlook clients.
Mailbox Move Requests are a new feature set of Exchange 2010 and requires running a series of Cmdlets to perform asynchronous online mailbox moves with the help of a service agent called Mailbox Replication Service (MRS). MRS is available on all Exchange 2010
Client Access Servers.

I have added a second exchange 2007 server and have moved over 20 mailboxes to the new server. I seem to have a problem that the mailbox move has not been completed properly. I'm getting errors in the event log that the search indexer cannot connect to the

I have been fighting today with the migration off my old SBS2003 server to a brand new SBS2008 server. I have been preparing this migration for a couple off weeks
now (watching videos, reading migration manual from Microsoft, searching TechNet, etc.)
After some troubles with installing the server in Migration mode if finally came to the part to move my old (legacy) mailboxes to the new SBS2008 server. At this point the drama started @#$@$#&^%%#$@
I followed the manual off Microsoft which descripted how to move these mailboxes.
Exchange displayed a error message :
MapiExceptionNetworkError: Unable to make admin interface connection to server. (hr=0x80040115, ec=-2147221227)
When I googled this error message I realized that many people encountered the same problem but no one had the right answer to this question. I have searched hours and hours to find a solution. It started to drive me crazy and to make it even more worse i discovered
that even though i completed the first step in the migration proces (update the schema to allow a SBS2008 DC to join the domain) my replication with the other DC controllers came with a schema mismatch error???? WTF is going on !!!!!!!!
Finally a brilliant college off me came with the answer that solved all my problems: To GET RID OFF THIS ERROR MESSAGE INSTALL: Messaging API and Collabration Data Objects 1.2.1 on the Exchange server.
After moving about 60 mailboxes my blood pressure dropped and became stable again.
I Have on finall question WHY Microsoft? Was this to much trouble to put this in het migration manual off 81 pages?

Moving Portable Home Directories from one server to another

I am in the process of migrating users from an older xserve running 10.3 with open directory to a new xserve running 10.5. So far, everything is looking good with the migration, the only major issue I'm running into in my testing is with Portable Home Directories. Presently, the portable home directory on the computer still points to the old server for existing user accounts after they are moved to the new open directory server. On the 10.3 server, the home directories are all mounted under /Volumes/Home, where on Leopard it appears it wants to create the shares under /Volumes/ServerName/Folder. Granted, at present the original server's Home Folders are on a fiber attached raid and in testing I don't have this available. Any suggestions on a way to test easily without moving the raid? Also, is there an easy way to do a mass change on user machines where if I move my raid over to the new server, I can make sure that users data is being backed up to the proper location?
Sorry for the lengthy post, just trying to make sure I'm covering all my bases, heh.

Antonio, thanks for the response. I do have one more question regarding this. On the client side, the mirrors.plist file references the old server FQDN and share name. Because this will be being moved over to the new server, is there an easy method to update the clients mirror plist without breaking the PHD mirror? My big concern here is that either the users will not be able to synchronize phd's or we will have to re-establish all the phd's from the client machines to the server. My thought here is simply using a cname to direct any traffic still trying to hit the old server name to the new server name.

Moving mail data from mail to Outlook for Mac.

I am moving old PC mail data (outlook 2007) to Mac. I used the mac mover, which was great but... it has moved my old mail data to mac mail. I am trying to export that data now (on the mac mail) to then import into Outlook for Mac, but not getting anywhere? Outlook support says it will import the data as a mac export txt file, but whenever i try and import Outlook can not see the file.
I have also tried to just export the mail data from one mac users mail app to another and that is also not working. Import mail function reports format error, even though it is from the same version of mail on the same machine.

Moving Mail 5.2 from OSX 10.7.4 to OSX 10.8.2

I ugraded to a new iMac from my MacPro. My MacPro was using Mail 5.2, the new iMac has the new Mail (since it'snot set up yet I can't access the version number).
I can't figure out how to move all my email/folders/tags etc. to the new computer. I copied the [user]/library/mail folder and replaced the empty folder on my iMac with the one from my MacPro . Upon opening Mail on the iMac it behaves as if no info is there, prompts me to start from scratch with a new account.
Please help.

It's version 6.2 in Mountain Lion.
In Mail menu you need to File>Import Mailboxes and navigate to the Mail folder on your MacPro. The iMac and the MacPro should be connected via firewire and the MacPro in target disk mode.

Moving Oracle 9i database from AIX server to Sun Solaris 9 server

I want to move my oracle 9i database residing on AIX server to Sun Solaris 9 server.
The database residing on AIX server has the following features :-
1. It is a production database.
2. Running in NOARCHIVE LOG Mode.
3. It was Live for few weeks, hence transactions are stored on it.
4. It has one schema,around 700 tables & 129 views.....etc
5. Huge downtime is affordable.
What is the safest way to do so ??

Moving a Solaris Zone from one server to another

I have a Solaris 8 zone running on a server. It is running on a ZFS file system. The hardware that it is running on is no longer under support contract, so we want to move it to our newer solaris hardware that still has support.
I have done a lot of looking around and can't find a definite answer.
The zone was created by a flash archive and installed to a ZFS file system. Worked like a champ and was fairly easy to do.
However, I want to take this zone, halt it, and then export the zfs file system to a new server. Let me know if this sounds like it will work...

Does this seem feasible? I really don't want to create another flar of this server if I don't have to.

I basically did what I said I would from my first post and it worked like a champ.
I created the zfs mount point, ran the tar command, moved it via nfs to the next server, untarred it to the new zone zfs space,
exported the zone cfg from the original host, modified it so that it had the correct zonepath, and network devices for the new host, imported the config with zonecfg -z zone -f /tmp/zone.cfg. I then attached the zone with zoneadm -z zone attach -F. I then ran /usr/lib/brand/solairs8/s8_p2v zone and it installed all the patches required for it and then I ran zoneadm -z zone boot and it came right up and worked like a charm.

Has anyone had any luck exporting to Flash from FC Server?

We haven't been able to get it to work with any of the third party encoders (Telestream, On2, Adobe) for Flash. If anyone has it working we would love to know how you did it!

I've also had no luck exporting to Flash, very frustratingly. In the logs I get an error message:
*ERROR: EMISSINGPARAM*
*Wrapper format missing from destination media format*
I'm not using Episode, just have Flash installed on the server and created a Compressor QuickTime Export Components preset.

Script to move data recordings from one server to another automatically

I have windows server 2003 enterprise edition. The purpose of the server is to record the CCTV footage's and store them on the local hard drive. Currently we are manually copying the recordings to another server using the below script.

We want to automate this manual process using scripting (eg. a bat file / powershell script). Kindly suggest on the ways to implement it or how to proceed from here. I am not well versed in scripting and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Mail stops downloading from exchange server. Renewal of account brings temporary relief only. Anyone know this? Any solution?

Mail worked properly, then some folders were invisible (sent mail) yet still visible on iPhone exchange account. Then download of inbox stopped in an endless waiting position with erratic messages about current activity. A rebuild of the account brought temporary relief, then the same thing started again. Since my uograde to Mavericks 10.9.3, mac mail is not allowing me to send large files with the same behavior described in thread by mikemachead original post here. I have tried the de selecting and selecting back the "store drafts in server" , rebooted multiple times, yet keeps asking me to select SMTP as the exchange server supposedly cannot send it. I have no limits set in the server(in fact I receive emails with large attachments) and had no issues up until the update. Anyone have suggestions as to how to fix it???

Mean while can you tell me if we have not moved them in proper order the changes wont reflect or something?
Not moving the TRs in order, will some times lead to serious problems in production system. To the extent that all business activities would come to stand still. Hence, it's very important to move the TRs in their respective sequence.
Maintain details of TR and their sequence in an excel sheet.

Every time I move emails from the inbox to another mailbox, then click on any mailbox (the emails are there fine), and then go back to the inbox, the moved messages have returned to the inbox. I have moved them out of the inbox to other mailboxes again and again, but then they keep showing up in the inbox again as soon as I click on any mailbox other than the inbox. Very frustrating.
This has only happened since I installed Mavericks on both my Macbook Pro and my iMac. It happens on both of them.
Any ideas how to fix it?

This may be one of the known issues with Gmail and it's IMAP settings working with Maverick's Mail.
It all comes down to if you have the ALL MAIL folder visible or not via IMAP.
If you do not, then you get the behavior you are describing.
If you do have ALL MAIL visible, then there isn't a problem.

server service manually then SQL server will be in a dead lock situation and it will not come up even if we wait for long time. Then we should do a windows server machine restart to

What action did you do and caused the error "A severe error occurred on the current command. The results, if any, should be discarded", did you run report on the web application or something else then the error happen?
If you rendering the report and got the error, please try to provide us more error information in the log files which path like:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10_50.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\LogFiles
If it is not the case in step1, Please try to provide SQL Server Error log(SQL Server Logs) and more details information.

I am using SQL server 2008 R2 and also MultipleActiveResultSet = true and Pooling = true (default value) in connection string.
While executing query 'IF ORIGINAL_LOGIN() = SUSER_SNAME() EXECUTE AS USER = 'MyUser'', I received error stating 'A server error occurred on the current command. the results if any should be discarded'. At the same time I could check that SqlConnection
state is also closed.
I have also fired 'REVERT' query If I find such exception and again try to execute same query again. but no luck. I received the same exception while executing query (Execute As) again.
What can be the solution to avoid such exception and make my code working?

Login failed for user 'sa'. The user is not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection.
Above issue occurs genrally when authentication mode is set to Windows Authentication insted Mixed Mode.
You can change the authentication mode of the SQL server from “Windows Authentication Mode (Windows Authentication)” to “Mixed Mode (Windows Authentication and SQL Server Authentication)”.
Run following script in SQL Analyzer to change the authentication
LOGIN sa ENABLE
GO
ALTER LOGIN sa WITH PASSWORD = '<password>'
