Should Fuse for OS X be on my new Retina iMac?
After migrating files, folders, setting and apps from my old 2009 iMac (currently running OS X 10.10 Yosemite) to my new Retina iMac (27", Retina 5K, OS X Yosemite) I notice that there is a Fuse for OS X (Oxyfuse) preference pane in the System Preferences. Is this necessary or desirable? Should Fuse for OS X be removed? If I choose to leave Fuse for OS X installed, should this be updated to the newer version 2.7.2 (installed version is 2.5.4)?
It's third-party software, not part of the OS. Only you know whether you need it or not. If you don't need it, remove it according to the developer's instructions after backing up all data. If you do need it, update it to the latest version.

New Retina iMac and i need a recamendation for a UPS

I just purchased a Retina iMac with 4GHz i7, 32gb ram, 256 ssd, r9 m295x 4GB gp. What type of UPS(Battery Backup) do i need? I have read many different articles but they all seem to contradict each other. I noticed that apple has this for sale in the online store http://store.apple.com/us/product/TY121LL/A?fnode=5a however it does not tell me what mac's it will work on. I know the battery capacity is enough but I'm not sure if this is a pure sine wave or not. I have read that you need a pure since wave for a Retina iMac. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I purchased a 5k iMac with similar specs a couple months ago and wanted to get a battery backup to protect my investment. I currently have my 5k iMac connected to an APC Back-UPS Pro 1000. I was unaware of the sine wave power issue with some of the Macs until after I bought this UPS. However, the Pro 1000 works great with my iMac. The power has gone out twice since I've had it and I had plenty of time to save my work, close my programs and shut down my computer. I've had no issues.
My only gripe with the UPS is the clicking noise it makes every time my computer shuts down or goes to sleep. It's not that big of deal but it can be annoying if you put your computer to sleep at night and then the UPS clicks on at 2am when you're trying to sleep. I believe this can be avoided if you turn off the power saving feature but I normally just shut down my computer when I'm done using it. That prevents unnecessary clicking once the computer is off.
I've had no experience with any other UPS so I can't speak if the Pro 1000 will work with other mac products but for the 5k iMac, it works great! I unplugged my UPS and wrote this review with the battery back up to prove it! Estimated run time was over 100 minutes, the only application open was Safari. Hope this helps!

Should I use a keyboard cover with the new retina screen?
Someone in an apple store told me I shouldn't use a silicone keyboard cover on the new 13" macbook pro w/ retina because apparently theres not enough space for it when the laptop is closed and its been causing faults? Anyone know anything about this?
It also blocks the air intake.
I use the original thin foam packaging that comes between the screen and KB from the factory to reduce debris gettting in and the monitor getting impressions.
Since it's light and thin, lets air get in under it and into the machine throught the keyboard, deflects spills it's been great for the last few years.
I use a external keyboard and scroll wheel mouse to take the wear and tear, I hate trackpads anyway. -

No. This question comes up every time new hardware is release, the version of OS X that originally shipped on the machine is the earliest version of OS X that can be installed. The reason being is the hardware is optimized for the version of OS X. There are rare exceptions to this rule however the iMac Retina would not be one of those exceptions. -
I am going to buy a macbook pro for grade 12, and I need to know wheather I should get a macbook pro or a macbook pro retina. If someone could tell me (in a very simple way) which one is,better for me and why, I would be ever so apprreciative.
Why do you need a expensive MacBook Pro?
Your attending high school and unless everyone else is rich also your likely going to be a target by the more poorer students for theft or damage to the machine.
You could keep it home, but if you need it for class then your exposed again.
Also at that age your not very careful yet, a MacBook Pro is a expensive and easily damaged machine.
Unless your made of money and so are others at your school, I would recommned a low profile, just does the job cheap Windows PC.
If it dies, gets lost, stolen or damaged because of your inexperince handling senstivie electronics then it's no big deal.
You can buy a Mac later on when your sure you have a need for it, currently there isn't much advantage of owning a Mac compared to a PC, they do just about the same things now, one just looks prettier than the other.
Since 95% of the world uses Windows PC's your going to have to install Windows on the Mac in order to keep your skills up there or be unemployed, so it's a extra headache and expense.

I was trying to take my Mac air to factory default settings.
I've done all that it says in the documment i was following, and them during the process it asked me the APPLE ID.
I put the apple id i have in my iphone. But it's not the one... it's said that i don't have any OSX associated with it... so it can not install the OSX.

I have a 2 yr old Iphone 4 and have not backed up or connected to Itunes up for 1 yr. I have new Windows 7 computer and want to connect and copy Itunes backed up folder from external HD (a year ago) to new computer and install new Itunes and new IOS. What steps should I take and what precautions? I don't want to lose any data on my phone such as music, photos, contacts, notes, texts etc, nor lose music from prior backed up Itune folder. I am interested in buying a macbook laptop. I am confused however in which one I should buy for the type of work that I will be doing. I either am looking into getting a macbook pro or the macbook air. I am leaning more towards the air.
A basic MBA will be more than adequate. Take into consideration that storage may be a long term issue unless you are not averse to traveling with an external HDD.

We have added one custom field Prefereed Vendor at line item level.
We have requirement that if Prefereed Vendor at one line item level is changed,
then it should populate for all the line items.

I assume you are referring to SC. In standard SRM Preferred Vendor is a partner to an Item. But based on your post, have you added the Preferred vendor as a CUF field?
Anyway we can achive your requirement in DOC_CHANGE_BADI. This BADI has importing parameter IT_ITEM and exporting as ET_ITEM.
1. Get the SC from PD buffer using BBP_PD_SC_GETdETAIL into LT_ITEM
2. Compare the preferred vendor for every item in IT_ITEM with corresponding item in PD buffer
3. If for some item, the preferred vendor for IT_ITEM is diferrent from that of LT_ITEM --> means we found the item for which preferred vendor was chaged
4. Now populate ET_ITEM based on IT_ITEM along with copying the preferred vendor from changed item to all items.

I have everything set for Arabic fonts and the keyboard as well. When I type in WORD or EXCEL I just get individual Arabic letters, but they never connect, they should be for example like this الس but they always appear like that ا ل س
MS Word for Mac has never supported Arabic. You have to use other apps. Mellel is best, but Pages 5, TextEdit, Nisus Writer, or Open/LibreOffice should work OK.
Sometimes you can make Word for Mac do connected Arabic if you are editing a document created with Windows Word. -
