No need to activate it in the US. You will need a wall plug adapter once you are in India.

You need to explain what you are trying to do in a little more detail. I'm guessing that you want to activate the device but you can't because the person that you bought it from didn't erase it properly. You will need their help for this. They have to follow the instructions in this kb article before you can use the device.

They must do this for you. Nobody here can help with it other than the person that you bought it from. If you are asking about something else, you really do need to be more specific.

3 months ago I was in the US when I bought an iPad2 and it was working just fantastic then I returned back to my home country Egypt and all was still great then all of a sudden after conducting a firmware update the built-in mic has just stopped functioning normally and has started to record 95% loud static + %sound if I SCREAM into the opening (very low). After searching the forums I could see that this has happened to many others .. but they all simply went to the local apple store and replaced it .. there is no apple store in Egypt as far as I know, only apple resellers. I would like to know who to contact to get this problem handled and my iPad2 either replaced or fixed. Thank you.

Only the previous owner can help you. Take it back to the store and demand your money back. You will not be able to activate and use it without help from the previous owner. The shop should not have sold you an iPad that was still associated with the previous owner's account.

Songs Bought from Itunes on my new iPad won't transfer to iTunes.

I have a major problem. I have never been one to download music for free. I dont have a problem with other people that do it, its just a moral ethical thing for me as I am an author who sells digital property and wouldn't want someone stealing my books. Anywho, All of my music is bought from my iPad on iTunes.
Today, I went to back up my new iPad onto my PC and it kept comming up as "these songs couldnt be synced" or somthing to that effect. Which I just figured at first, it was a glitch. But then As it kept going, I realised it wasn't downloading ENTIRE boughten-on-itunes Albums, including one I just purchased, and two i purchased about a week ago. My friend just kept telling me it was because it was shared music, but it wasnt! All my music is bought off itunes!
To make matters even worse, When I checked my iPad, The music I bought was GONE! It's about 30 bucks worth too. I'm aware that I can just redownload it onto my iPad because it comes up as purchased under my account. But I really don't wanna have to do that every single time I sync my new iPad. Is there any way to fix this? or does anyone know whats going on? Does this happen to you? I don't honestly know what it could be.

If your iPad is set up to sync normally with your iTunes library any purchases you make on the devce should automatically transfer to your iTunes library at the next sync. Alternatively you can set up both computer and device to automatically download any purchases made on other, even if you don't get around to syncing them for ages.
If for some reason the iPad doesn't really treat your iTunes library as its "home" library, and threatens to erase content when you bring the two together, then see Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

FaceTime was by demand of the UAE government blocked in the iPad's hardware. As stedman said, there's no way you can activate FaceTime now.

Thanks. The reason this has become an issue is that I recently bought a new Macbook Air that the iPad is not synced to. The one is was synced to was stolen. If I want to sync this iPad to the new Air, won't it be wiped before I'm able to copy these films or am I wrong about that?

I have purchased a iPad mini online from the Apple store. Since day one I had 2 issues with it. First is that the battery life doesn't last more than 5-6h active usage, and the second one is with the wi-fi. It works properly but after I leave it for a while in sleep mode and try to reuse it, it doesn't want to open a web page or app store or mail (anything connected with the internet search) but it shows that is properly connected with my home network. So I have to turn off the wi-fi connection and turn it on again so it start to work properly. After couple off days this becomed very annoying so I contacted the support via phone and they gave me instructions for return it and that I'll receive a new one without aditional fee. I get the second device in the predicted time but again I have the same issues with the wi-fi and battery life. I will be pleased if someone from the Apple expert team explaine to me what should I do, because I dont find it for normal what is happening. On the Apple official site under the specifications for iPad mini it says that the battery lasts for at least 10h and the wi-fi problem isn't mentioned anywhere. Thanks in advance.

If you want someone from Apple to explain what you should do make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one near you and take your iPad there and talk to Apple. If no Apple store is close enough then call Apple to find out what your alternatives are. There is a Contact Info link at the bottom of every page in this forum.
