    Hello,
I too am a Nokia Lumia 720 user. I went to the 'Storage Check' section, and checked the breakup of the memory usage, which showed 808MB temp files stored. I clicked on 'Clear' and now it shows 727MB of temp files stored. I tried clicking on the clear button multiple number of time, but it just doesn't clear those files. It's stuck on 727MB. Kindly help me with this predicament. Thanks a lot.
Not all the files in "Other" storage are unnecessary/unneeded/temporary files. There may be system files, mail attachments, app specific files and if the Clear button cannot clear all of them, that means they are used in some way.
"Other" files are the files which cannot be classified as Music/Video/Photo/Document, but that doesn't mean they are unused files.
If your "Other"  usage increases dramatically, especially after installing a specific app, then it's time to worry. But in normal usage conditions, 1-1.5 GB is OK for "Other" storage

Use the W7 x64 drivers from the HP 250 G2 except the BIOS and firmware files.

  • N8-Switching Phone memory to Mass Storage

    Hi
N8's Phone memory is only 250MB. The default memory for storage mails and other stuff is phone memory. How can I switch to MASS STORAGE or MEMORY CARD. specially mailForExchange msgs?
    Thanks

I think since Microsoft start making OS for Nokia phones and bought Nokia all of us can forget about any updates (Anna, Belle whatever).
Now thay are focused on Win OS, and we all lose any support and upgrades (how or why will Microsoft make Symbian OS updates ).
I use N8 since it was brand new, and never was I so completely happy with any phone like this one; of coursenow it can not measure N8 with 3G (3.5G) with LTE so must buy somethin new now, but what ?

  • TS1559 if i reset network settings will i lose everything on my phone , should i back up on my pc first ?

if i reset network settings to get back my wifi will i lose everything on my ph ? should i back up everything first on pc ?

No you won't lose anything, however you would need to re enter your password for known wifis.
You should already be backing up your phone on a regular basis.

Saving contacts on our SIM card is in my view is a good idea because ..Copying contact list from your device to a Sim Card is a lengthy process and SIM contacts will ONLY contain one phone number per contact entry. Our BlackBerry  Address Book will have a different arrangement with one Contact Name and several fields of information (Cell phone, Work Phone, Home Phone, email address, etc.) if you want to do it that way than you had to do one by one , so the best option will be to sync with your BB Desktop Software ,Have a look at this article reaging backup , I'm sure it will help you a lot for any future courses How To Backup Your BlackBerry

  • Guys Plz help urgent Phone memory is 0

i recievd a song from bluetooth and it has been saved but it reduced phone memory i tried to fing that song inthe phone memory but not found in phone memory plz tell me the locations so i can transfer to mass memory or bluetooth and can u plz tell me how to change the path of recieving anything means i received from bluetooth i want that it should be go to directly to massmemory folder .
    OR
any one can tell me how to transfer the song from phone memory to mass memory
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    1) For your phone memory to be 0 you must have apps and everything stored there on C: and not utilising the mass storage E:.
I agree with matt_t that is how it is done when using bluetooth so havent a clue whats going on there.
    2) Have you tried plugging your phone into your PC via USB and exploring your N97 throught my computer  if using windows and double clicking the N97 icon.
Looking for the C: Phone folder and finding the song and dragging and dropping into E:mass memory music folder????
OR drag from your C: to your PC and dragging back to E:mass memory Music Foler if the above doesnt work.
BUT 1 song is usually on around 3MB so you still have issues with 0 memory.
    3) If all your apps are stored on C: why dont you uninstall them and install onto your E:mass memory.
    4) Internet i havent a clue about but with your memory so so low thats the least of your problems at the moment.
Thats all i have to help with i hope you find your song and your memory increases.

  • How can i open phone memory hidden files

    hi guys and members
i want open my phone memory with hidden files to copy all to my pc
any programme doing this for me
    thanks...........
    no_profile_today

You can use the back-up option from PC Suite or use the "Memory" application in the Phone.
Or get a file browser for the phone like activefile or Ybrowser to copy the files to the memory card then read the files using the PC with the phone connected in Mass Storage.

  • PLEASE HELP! N95 phone memory problem

    Hi
I have a N95 8GB which is now about 2 years old.  The phone itself works fine, well, that was until yesterday morning.
It hasnt been recently dropped, there is no logical reason i can see, but the phone has lost its mind.
It's been telling me since yesterday morning that there is no phone memory left.  So I completely wiped all my music, videos, pictures, messages etc.  To no avail, it's still telling me there is no phone memory.
I went to delete a contact, which are actually saved on my sim card, and it told me there wasnt enough memory to do this.
I've restored factory settings, no joy.
It also keeps popping up with "carousel already in use".
I can't now receive txts either because it tells me not enough memory to read.
Am I going to have to get a new phone on my inusrance, or is this a problem I can sort with your help?
    thanks in advance

Go to Menu>Tools>File Manager>Options>Memory details, this will give you a run-down of how much phone memory is free and how much is used, then a breakdown of where the memory is being used. Your phone memory is about 140Mb in total (don't confuse this with the 8Gb - that's just "Mass memory" for storage of data like music, video and pictures plus it is possible to install some apps in there. The phone memory is used for processing as well as sotrage, which is why you get these errors if too much is used.
In the breakdown, you'll see the following items:
    - Calendar: this should only be a few Kb, perhaps a few hundred Kb if you use the feature often, but not too much
    - Contacts: should also be measured in Kb, even if many of your contacts have images
    - Messages: should be measured in Kb, if it goes into Mb or worse still Gb then you have Bluetooth of MMS messages hogging space - save the attachments to mass memory and delete the messages.
    - Images, videos and soundclips should not be large - perhaps a small number of ringtones, images that you use as backgrounds etc. but the bulk of these media files are best moved to mass memory.
    - Documents should be tiny, keep documents in mass memory.
    - MIDP (Java) apps and SIS (Symbian) apps could be filling space, you might be able uninstall some of these and reinstall them to mass memory if needs be, but be aware that some apps must be in phone memory and that some of the space taken by SIS apps will be preinstalled stuff that you can't move.
If none of the above can explain the memory full erros and you do seem to have a large amount of Mb free, then it could be a software issue that can be solved by reformatting the phone with the code *#7370# - make sure that you use PC Suite Content Copier to backup important data first, and after the reformat when you restore the backed-up data, don't include settings in the restoration and also leave out any data types that you know you don' use.

  • Nokia E60 phone memory corruption?!

My beloved E60 is finally giving signs of hard everyday use. I had it for about 2 years and its looks like there might be a corruption with the phone (not the memory card) memory. This is the internal 64MB. All my contacts are saved on the phone memory, as I make use of multiple entries for one contact. I do have a 1 GB MMC card, which tends to work, but don't use it to store anything on. Why do I think the phone memory is corrupt?
Well, I had the following which in my opinion points to corruption:
    - unable to save contacts occasionally, says memory is full (even when there should eb a few MB's left)
    - some contacts from my address book, don't show any name, just the number, when they call me
    - doing a Backup with PC Synch, works, but oepning the nbu file, appears to be incomplete
    - the Contacts when loaded in PC Synch, do not all have phone numbers, despite having a number on the phone entry
    -  the MMC card sometimes says its corrupted, however, when ejecting it and then re-inserting it then seems fine
I am running it with the latest firmware (3.0633.09.04). Its not under warranty any longer and I am happy to do a full reset, if only I could be sure that the backups I have (using the Create a Backup to Memory card) would work. Quite scared to trust it, as there are just too many contacts in the phone (numbers, addresses, email, fax etc).
If anyone has any thoughts on how to get this sorted, please post here - getting a bit desperate.
    Thanks

The only thing I can suggest you do if your phone memory is truly corrupted is to reformat the phone. You can do this by using the *#7370# code. Please remember to backup your phone before attempting it. I would do 2 backups, one with eveything and one without the phone specific settings. The reformat will wipe out all your data. You will need the backup to restore your data back to the phone afterwards. You may also need to reinstall some of the applications you installed.

  • N97 Phone Memory Filled Up

    Hi,
I am using N97 rom 02-Aug-09. everything was working fine untill i notice tht my phone memory is getting filled up although i never installed any application & i hv set my default memory as mass memory from the very beginning. for nokia care in india the only solution is format/soft.update. moreover they couldn't even trace where the memory is occupying so that it could be set free.
can anyone please guide me !

Odd, thanks like TOO MUCH other files. I dont really know what these other files are myself. They sometimes clean themselves out..
However, I do notice that when I uninstall apps, some other files go as well, and when I reinstall them they dont come back. I used to have this problem myselft, however I just formatted my phone and became more cautious in putting anything in it. So far the "other files" hasnt grown in months.
