Should I be able to Wi-Fi through my iMac?
Hi people.
I've just bought a Touch. I'm pretty pleased with it, with the exception of one thing: the Wi-Fi aspect. There are no local hot-spots, other than in pub's, and the i'm not going into the pub to play with my iPod!
I have an Intel Mac (Aluminum), and it has Airport built in. I'm not using wireless internet, i'm using it via Ethernet from a regular router (non-wireless). If I turn my Airport on and create a new network, my Touch does pick it up, but whenever I try and access the Internet apps (iTunes, App Store, Weather etc), it can never connect to anything. What am I doing wrong? I want to be able to use it in my home, so not long distance etc.
Also, will the current iPod Touch sit in an iPhone 3G dock? Not the older 2G dock...

Well, I think it's not destined to be -- the computer is giving out the signal, as the Touch is picking up the signal with three bars of Wi-Fi showing. But whenever I try to connect to the internet, or even weather, it can't connect. On the Wi-Fi Touch settings, it saw my network, and when I double tapped it, it said it couldn't connect to the network.
I've now been in a second home wireless environment (wireless router), and the Wi-Fi has worked first time no problems. So looks like I can't connect afterall - wireless router shopping it is then!

No, if you rent a movie on anything other than your computer it can only be watched on that device. If you want to watch it on multiple devices, rent it on the computer then it can be transferred between devices, but can't be moved to more than one device at a time. -
Should I be able to use a Lexmark Pro 205 wireless 3 in 1 printer with iPad 1? I have installed the LexPrint app on iPad, downloaded the Lexmark Listener on desktop computer but still can't print from iPad. My iPad cannot find the printer. But I can print from desktop without USB cable. I upgraded the system on my iPad sometime ago. Suggestions??
Here is the list of AirPrint printers, and you particular printer is not on it. So that means you will need to use the Lexmark app, and print through your computer.
There is a Lexmark guy that hangs around these forums who may chime in with a response as well.

Should carriers be able to unlock iCloud
So this is my question....Should carriers be able to unlock iCloud from iOS devices or at least have some say in the matter???

Long time android user (Original My Touch) anyways new to iOS decided my Galaxy was dying and I need a new phone looked into getting an iphone went back and forth like a dying person trying to come to terms with their own impending death well saturday (6/21/2014) I decided to go buy an iphone 5 from craigslist.....Did my due diligence and checked the IMEI/ESN with my carrier (got the OK!) met up with the guy at a sprint store (Foreign Exchange Student going home.....Nice guy) I played with the phone thought this isn't half bad sure I'll buy the phone shook hands parted ways.....got home plugged the phone in iTunes tells me YOU'VE GOT AN UPDATE! or something......so I do the update go through the steps after I wipe the phone and see this.....My phone is linked to so-so's iCloud....Whats this I ask myself??? (It's getting the shaft with no lube) that's what it is.
Now I can't get ahold of this kid who moved back to china and no both sprint and apple are pointing fingers at each other when Im sitting here with a phone with 100% clean numbers and an iCloud lock and both sides seem to argue is that the only solution to my problem is BUY A NEW iDEVICE......

Only the previous owner should be able to unlock it (as it is now).

1) after creating the sales order we are gong to send confirmation through output determinatin output type (BA00) .
2) once the customer confirms the order based on thet we do the delivery. right----
3) see exmple : a person who creates the order he does'nt have rights to change in big industry lot of departments (so many managers) has to see the order because the order canbe one item it can be 1000 items.
4) every body will be having certain limitations like authorisations if you take my company i don't have authorisations to do FI settings or MM settings.
5) what means to say is if that order has to be changed ababrs might have written the code the moment the order confirms from the customers it's goes to respective department or managers through work flow if it goes any manager , a person who created the order he can't do any changes on that. that's why business works. that is what SAP

Windows Phone - To be able to send sms through Nok...
I would love to use a Lumia and to be able to send sms through Nokia Suite by connecting bthrough usb cable and also by bluetooth.
I connect my Nokia Belle phones almost every day by bluetooth and send sms.
The freedom to do that is long implemented i my daily life and the reason is plain simple;
while surfing on the pc, checking business stuff, writing messages or whatever and not have to pick up the phone is such easy task, not to mention how easy it is too use the keyboard of the pc and the speed and accuracy of writing...people who like me have done this for years,
surely will miss this feature or whatever you want to call it.
Implement it, just do it. Please...

How can I prevent a PDF file from being copied, printed or downloaded? Students should only be able to view the text and and not distribute it in any way.
You can prevent it from being printed by applying a security policy to it
in Acrobat. The rest can't be prevented, unless you spend a LOT of money
on DRM protection. -
updated my mac to mountain lion 10.7.8.3 and now my app store, mail or facetime won't open. Also, I am not longer able to play videos through firefox. I tried downloading the combo for mountain lion and it refuses to install saying that I need to see developer. Whenever I try to open my appstore, mail or facetime it says that the programmes need to be installed and might not be compatible with this version of mac operating system. Can anyone help me?
It's not a bad install of Mountain Lion. I've had the same thing happen to me, but it affected not only Mail, but a variety of other programs including iPhoto and MS Office, where I had to delete preferences, caches, and reinstall the OS as well as the program itself. I'm still having issues with Mail, so I've gone to another program.
Everything was fine upon the initial install. I restarted my iMac about two weeks after the install, and that's when the issues began to happen. I've reinstalled Mountain Lion twice, but the same issues arise.
As I mentioned above, you'll need to figure out which preferences are causing the issue, then reinstall the program, as a fresh reinstallation will do you no good unless you wipe the drive completely.

I need to have the app Money start automatically at 0700 each day so that I get automatic notification of billos to pay today. I used to be able to do this through an apple script, then more recently through a standard alert within iCal. But things seem to have changed and that no longer works. I have tried adding an attachment to the daily event but that also does not work, and there seems to be no recent documentstion/help which assists me.
Problem solved. Use a calenday which is on the Mac, not on iCloud. Then set up a daily event and use Custom Alert to open the .app file.

Now, my Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise server are running in the domain. It have problem about some one in my team have remote my server with the user administrator while I'm remote it now. It make my session loss. I tried to remote it again but I found
the message at the log on screen about "The task you are trying to do can't be completed because Remote Desktop Services is currently busy. Please try again in a few minutes. Other users should still be able to log on."
Now, nobody can't remote with administrator user into this server. I have check the application log. I found the error message like this.

The cause of unable to remote back to the server seems to be services hung, please try to reset session as the article below guides to see if it works:

Major heat problem. should i be able to hear the fans?
my black macbook with 1gb ram is getting very hot when i use front row to play videos at full screen. after about 30-40 mins the left corner of the macbook is so hot i can only touch it for a second or so. then without warning the video just freezes. the picture remains on the screen but looks like it's paused. i then get the spinning colour wheel. the only way to rectify is to force a power off (force quit has no effect). i have to let it cool down for a while and try again. it works fine after that until it gets hot again.
when it locks up, it is completely silent. should i be able to hear the fans working? there is no warm air being expelled from any part of the unit as far as i can tell. the case is just really hot.
i ran a little experiment by pointing a desk fan at the notebook and it played fine for five hours without problems!!! the corner of the macbook was cool to the touch.
this happens in lid closed or open modes.
anyone else have this or is it time to call applecare?

ok, so we have had the firmware update and guess what?
all seems ok now!!!!
coreduotemp now reports 65 degrees after playing video at full screen. much better than the 85 degrees it was hitting. now when it gets hot i can hear the fans going. i ran a terminal window and did yes > /dev/null and after only a few seconds the temp was rising to 85-87 and the fans came on really hard and brought it to 68-70. no system stall yet.
normal idle while using only safari over airport is between 41-45 degrees!!!!
i am very happy so far. lets just hope it is the cure.

Thanks in advanceYou are trying to use software that is over 10 years old. As I read it, FCP 3.0.2 required 10.1 or higher at the time, but as FCP is reliant on quicktime, which has been updated many, many times, I doubt that you will ever get it to work properly.

Should i be able to see interlacing on the computer display?
I'm trying to verify if i have things set up properly.
If i'm working in a timeline that is DV NTSC and i've brought in elements from after effects and as well have moving images within FCP, should i be able to see the interlaced lines in FCP?
It looks okay on the broadcast monitor but i'm trying to figure out if interlacing on ftg/renders should be visible on the cinema display.
a simple yes, no and a sentence if you've got the time would be nice.
thanksYou can observe the presence of interlacing on a computer display only if the Canvas (or Viewer) are set to display 100% size and the video is paused. The interlacing will appear as a comb effect on moving objects. You can not observe interlacing with a computer display on running video.

Should I be able to use my Vision:M when it's docked/connected via U
I recently got a Vision:M, and when I was initially charging it using the included USB cable, it worked fine. Once I installed the software and transferred files,it stopped reacting to any key presses while connected to USB. It will receive files, but that's it (obviously, that's the main point of the USB connection - no complaints there).
My biggest concern is that while it is in this state, the image of the arrows around the USB icon in the middle of the screen stays on the whole time, but the arrows aren't moving as when a transfer is happening. The screen does dim, but I'm worried that over time, even if I only connect the device just long enough to charge it, that the image will become burned into the screen and ruin it. And I know there will be times I'll connect it to charge and forget about it for much longer, thus raising the risk of burn-in...or is burn-in not an issue with LCD?
At any rate, is this the expected behavior, or should I be able to use the VisionM when it's connected and/or should that image be visible when charging?
