Should I be using CS6 or CC ?
How do you tell?
I have googled around and don't see any real differences for me.

If you are a designer and work with a lot of CSS, the CC version has a new CSS designer that allows you to work visually with the CSS properties and in combination with live view, you can see the results almost instantaneously.
If you work with responsive designs very often, the enhancements to Fluid Grid layout is new. You can use the visual tools on the Fluid Grid page to do quick operations that helps you do the layouting much faster.
We have modernized the entire application by getting rid of features that were no longer used/outdated.
We have also integrated Web fonts so you can add and use webfonts to your design from right within Dreamweaver.
With the CC update (13.1) that we did a few months ago, we have made code view improvements, added sync settings features to sync keyboard shortcuts and workspaces in addition to Application Preferences and site settings. We have added a new feature called Live highlight which will give you a visual indication of the elements on the page that are affected by a CSS selector.
The main plus point in 13.1 is the Live view. The live view will show you exactly what is rendered by most browsers today. This will help you avoid workaround trips to and from browsers.
Support for PHP 5.4 has been added.
Plus lots of bug fixes have been made.

  • Which Premiere Pro (CS6) project settings should I be using?

    Hi there
I am currently trying to use Premiere Pro CS6 to edit a Skype video call I recorded using Super Tintin, and I'm not sure what project settings I should l be using.
At the moment I am selecting HDV/HDV1080i25 (50i) when I set up the project, but when I come to add the video file to the project timeline, I am told that the file settings do not match the sequence settings and I am prompted to either change the settings, or keep the existing ones.
When I select 'keep existing settings' the video appears in a very small box in the centre of a large black screen, which obviously isn't what I'm looking for. When I select 'change sequence settings', however, the video fills the screen, which is great, but the video and audio are out of synch (when I play the file outside of CS6, they are in synch). Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
If it helps, here is some info regarding the file I'm currently working with:
    MP4, 9MB
    Frame width: 320
    Frame height: 240
    Frame rate: 14 frames/second
    Data rate: 529 kbps
Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks.

    Select a New Sequence
Select any preset in a folder Mobile & Devices
    go to the Setting tab
Set the parameters of the video and audio to your video file appropriately.
Save the preset under any convenient name.
create a sequence based on your preset.
    Enjoy.

  • Installing new icc profiles on an Imac using CS6

Can someone help, please, I am using CS6 on an Imac (new to mac) and I need to install some more icc profiles. I have tried unhiding the library/col sync/profiles folder and have installed them but cs6 print setup is still not showing them. I have also tried to drag them in to /library/Application Support/Adobe/ Colour/Profiles/recommended as well but still not showing up. Your assistance will be highly appreciated.

I should have said I am using Epson 3800 printer using mac OS X10.9.5 operating system.

  • Various PS issues using CS6 via CC (on Windows Vista)

I am at my wits end wit this one and on the verge of an uninstall and reinstall.
All of my images (created on another computer that was also using CS6 on CC) appear with just a fragment of the original showing in the workspace, the rest is chequered out. When I select the paint tool it erases the one little segment that was there. I've attached a screenshot. I hope I'm not being stupid. I apologise if I am. Check the layers box, the logo should be visible.

That sounds like a possible graphics card driver issue.
As a test you could go to Edit>Preferences>Performance and try setting the Advanced Settings under Use Graphics Processor to Basic and then restart photoshop and see if that makes a difference when opening images.
If that's still not good, then try unchecking Use Graphics Processor and restart photoshop.
The gist of all this is most likely you need to update you graphics card (video card) drivers from the card makers website.
    (not through windows update)

  • Installed photoshopcc; should I now remove CS6

installed photoshopcc should I now uninstall CS6?    CC runs out of memory very quick after using for a couple of days.  I have used the purge function, no help.  thinking I might as well remove CS6 & it's Bridge function. 32bit 4Max ram

Ah yes, that's right, been awhile since I've worked with a 32 bit system.  My mistake.
Honestly, if CC isn't running well on your system, why not continue using CS6?  Anything in CC you must use?  Or upgrade; worth it in my opinion, but not everyone's.   As to the scratch disk, I'm assuming that's a disk drive?  You're going to get much better performance out of an SSD than dedicated HDD.  And if your OS/Photoshop isn't on an SSD, that's probably the single biggest performance gain per dollar spent you can get.  Makes a significant difference, in my experience.

In general theory, one now has the Edit button for their posts, until someone/anyone Replies to it. I've had Edit available for weeks, as opposed to the old forum's ~ 30 mins.
That, however, is in theory. I've posted, and immediately seen something that needed editing, only to find NO Replies, yet the Edit button is no longer available, only seconds later. Still, in that same thread, I'd have the Edit button from older posts, to which there had also been no Replies even after several days/weeks. Found one that had to be over a month old, and Edit was still there.
Do not know the why/how of this behavior. At first, I thought that maybe there WAS a Reply, that "ate" my Edit button, but had not Refreshed on my screen. Refresh still showed no Replies, just no Edit either. In those cases, I just Reply and mention the [Edit].
Also, it seems that the buttons get very scrambled at times, and Refresh does not always clear that up. I end up clicking where I "think" the right button should be and hope for the best. Seems that when the buttons do bunch up they can appear at random around the page, often three atop one another, and maybe one way the heck out in left-field.
While I'm on a role, it would be nice to be able to switch between Flattened and Threaded Views on the fly. Each has a use, and having to go to Options and then come back down to the thread is a very slow process. Jive is probably incapable of this, but I can dream.

  • CS5 Premium Bundle 50% off or should I wait for CS6?

Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on the Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium going for $849... half off the asking price?
Is it worth it to purchase or should i wait for CS6?

Whether or not to buy RIGHT NOW depends on a couple of things:
    1. Do you NEED the software now, or can you wait about 2 1/2 months for CS6 to ship?
    2. Are you upgrading from a very old version or starting out fresh with Adobe Creative Suite?
Another thing to consider is whether or not you're interested in the Adobe Creative Cloud, which is a current service offering but will be coming into full effect with CS6. It will be a subscription service but it looks like it will be an incredible value for the user who typically upgrades with each version and uses the software on a near-daily basis.
If you need/want a box software and don't plan to upgrade again for a long time, then perhaps buying CS5.5 right now while it's 1/2 off is a good deal for you. You might also want to wait until March 1st, because Adobe has a 30 day return policy and you may want/need to consider that as an option if a bunch of new buzz builds about CS6. Also, sometimes early March has been a cutoff date for free upgrades to the next version when it's released in April (again, this is based on past scenarios...no one will be able to guarantee anything about these considerations).
I typically upgrade for each full version, which has run me about $500-$700 on average each time (from CS2 to CS3, then CS4 and now CS5). I did not upgrade to CS5.5 because I didn't really need to, so my cost for CS5 has been about $25 per month for the past 2 years (but without an upgrade to CS5.5). The Creative Cloud, which is slated to start at $49 (whatever that means), looks to include a LOT more stuff and be a reasonable option for my type of usage, so I'm waiting to see how that turns out.

    Every pdf.
    - I am trying to get a picture of what kind of content inside the PDF you typically work with, e.g., text-only, forms, graphic images
    All the above
    8. are you working inside a local network, if yes, how many computers are connected to it?
Local Network, 9 computers and I am th only one with access to the CS6 Suite 10.1.8
    9. do you use any kind of cloud storage (such as Box, DropBox, etc) or network syncing processes
    Drop Box

  • HT202213 We have 3 ipods in our family, should we all use the same apple id?

We have 3 ipods in our family (myself and my two teenage daughters), should we all use the same apple id?  We want to be able to share our music, etc. but choose what we want.  Please help.
I tried to read about home sharing, but it sounds like everyone has to have the same id.
One of my daughter's ipod keeps dumping all music and apps everytime I attach it to the computer to try to sync.  I think it may be because I set hers up with my id.  I am sure this is supposed to be simple, but I feel like I don't want to do something wrong.  I appreciate your help.

Create NEW account/ID for them using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before. Make sure you specify a birthdate that results in being at least 13 years old
Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card
Use the new ID on their devices but only for:
    Settings>Messages>Send and Receive
    Settings>FaceTime
    Settings>GameCenter
and Settings>iCloud if you want her to have separate Contacts Calendar and some other things.
Continue to use the same/common Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases.

Yes! You are able to use the same license key on two computers for your CS6 Product.

I am using CS6 InDesign on a PC using a Windows 7 operating system.
Due to eyesight issues, I need to have the menu bars of programs in easy-to-read font and picture size.  Specifically, the menu bar across the top (File, Edit, View, etc.), and the menu bar on the left side with the graphic depiction of options.
In earlier versions of Windows (e.g. XP), whenever I changed the screen resolution on my computer to a lesser resolution in order to show the link icons on my desktop in a larger, more readable size, all the software programs, including yours, appeared on my screen with the menu bars in the larger font size that I needed.
However, in Windows 7, this is not the case.  Even though I have selected the lowest resolution, making the icons on my desktop extremely large, I cannot read the options across the top menu bar of your program, nor the pull-down menu items that they contain.  I cannot see the graphic depictions of options on the left side of the screen. They are all too small.  How can I make your program increase the size?

    NO way.

  • "The 'charCode' property of a keyup event should not be used. The value is meaningless." Is this possibly caused by a virus?

I don't know what's wrong with my Mac Mozilla Firefox, version 3.6.8, but today, it started alerting me about an error message on the "Error Console". In every website I visit, it tells me: "The 'charCode' property of a keyup event should not be used. The value is meaningless." Is this possibly caused by a virus?
I saw a pop-up which did not allow me to click it when I scatter the windows on my Mac. I was using Private Browsing, with pop-ups disabled, but one pop-up managed to get passed my settings, and open in another window. It would not allow me to select it, so all I did was to close Firefox, and start a new session. So far, everything has been normal, I also deleted the cookies it installed.
But, I still keep seeing that "Error Console" notice under my "Tools" on the Menu Bar, and when I clicked on it, it listed errors (such as what I listed above).
Would someone explain this to me?
    Thanks for your help!

The messages you see in the Error Console are mostly to assist the web site's author in resolving compatibility problems. Some of them can assist you in determining why a web site doesn't work as intended. The one you mentioned doesn't sound that suspicious, except that it occurs on many sites. Perhaps one of your add-ons is trying to monitor what you type?
To diagnose whether this is caused by an add-on or one of your settings, you could try the following:
First, make a backup of your computer for safekeeping. To back up Firefox, see [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information].
Next, try starting Firefox in Firefox
[http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode Safe Mode]. Be careful not to "reset" anything permanently if you didn't back up.
Does that resolve the errors? If so, then an add-on usually is the culprit. If not, try creating a new (blank) profile: [http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles Managing profiles].
If the new profile works correctly, you can choose between further research on your old profile or moving key settings like bookmarks from your old profile to the new one. [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Recovering+important+data+from+an+old+profile Recovering important data from an old profile].
    Hope this helps.

  • Can I use CS6 on a 13" MacBook Pro?

I'm a high school student, so I don't have a ton of money to spend on a new laptop. Currently, I have a 15" Windows laptop that I've been using CS6 on, and I love it. However, for other, unrelated reasons, I am committed to buying a Mac, and I would like to switch to using it completely.
I'm NOT a gamer, and most of my usage is made up of basic browsing and Word documents (I have A LOT of files to store). I've bought CS6 for Mac, but I need to know what Mac to get. I DON'T want Retina Display (no matter how good it is). My choice is between:
13" MacBook Pro without Retina Display
2.9GHz Dual-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz
    8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM — 2x4GB
    750GB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm
    OR
15" MacBook Pro without Retina Display
2.3GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.3GHz
    4GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB
    500GB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm
...but I don't understand the physical difference between Intel Core or RAM or processing at all. I really like the sleekness and easy-carrying that the 13" provides and it fufills all my other needs, but I don't know how Photoshop will run on it. I use Photoshop mostly for GIFs; school; and home projects; so I don't think my screen has to be too big. Will it work okay, or do I NEED at 15" Mac?
    Thanks!

4 GB of RAM may be insufficient. MacBook Pros (non-retina) are easily upgraded to more RAM--see macsales.com for pricing. I have 16GB, and find it works better than 8GB when I am editing large files. In order to attach an external screen, you will need to either buy an Apple Monitor or a thunderbolt (aka DisplayPort) adapter for your monitor. I guarantee you that will want an external screen, but you can probably get by if it isn't in your budget.
