Should I burn all my photos & docs off before installing Tiger?

Does installing 10.4 erase the stuff I have on here? I want to install it right now! LOL!

There are three ways to install Tiger; Upgrade, Archive&Install and Erase&Install.The only one of these that would erase anything is the Erase&Install. I usually suggest that you start with and Upgrade and see how that works for you. If you have problems then I suggest you use the Archive&Install. I tend to save the Erase&Install only for those situations that call for the nuclear solution.
Having said all of that backup your data before any upgrade is a good thing because you never know when things might take an unexpect turn for the worse. It is alway best to have your data safe and not need to use it then to wish you had after it is gone.

It's fastest to back up to your computer using iTunes (connect the phone, open iTunes, go to File>Devices>Back Up...choose to back up apps and transfer purchases if prompted). I got rid of a my stored music once I paid for iTunes Match. But beware you then need an Internet connection to pay music and even then a poor signal plays havoc. I sometimes wait five minutes for music to start and more often than not it stops playing and won't start again.

Your a bit stuck if you didn't back up your old computer.
But your apps can be re-downloaded later using your itunes account; you won't have to pay again.
You can download all your photos via wifi using an app like "wifi photo transfer".
There is no way anyone here can help you extract the music off your iPhone; iPhones were built to hold music to listen to, not to be able to get back off.
On the plus side again you can redownload all purchased music via itunes for free.
My advice would be to back up your computer this time.
And also to use icloud to back up your new iPhone.
If you have your old iPhone when you set up the new one it shouldn't take more then half a day to re-download everything and be close to the same.

Hi: I update my Iphoto 11/9.2.1 But I cannot load all my photo from the photos liabary

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

How to apply ICC profiles on all the photos in preset before printing.   and user preset

Hi,
hope someone can point me to the right direction.. I have 2 questions about ICC profiles and settings in lightroom.
1.) I found that many photos that I have is a little two blue. There are thousands of photos. I would like to know if there is a way in Lightroom to "Autobatch" the changes to all those photos.
The changes are under "white balance" -> "temp" -> (need to increase by 2)
2.) I will send out the photos to print . According to the photo stores tech, I can apply their ICC (printer/paper) profiles before sending the files to them. So, it will have better match how the photos come out.
Last time I printed some photos with them, many of the come out too dark.   But it looks fine on screen, and a little too red if I use my own inkject printer. I hope I correct this.
If it cannot be done in lightroom, it can only be done with Photoshop, please let me know. I will try to use other computer with PS installed.   just let me know the steps.

I would sugget two UI changes:
1. The enable / disable is confusing - the toggle switch to turn it on, changes the button label to "Auto Sync" to indicate that it is on. But, this is highly un-conventional and confusing - usually a button label indicates what will happen when you click, not that it is on, and clicking it will actually turns it off - bass-freakin'-ackwards if you ask me!... (Add to it the toggle switch tooltip is the same in both cases - indicating that the switch will enable it, when actually, in one case it will enable, but in the other case it will disable...)
2. Some simple UI difference that you can't ignore but doesn't bug the ship out of you either, when auto-sync is on: maybe a red-tint to the slider draggers or something...
Summary: Once you use something other than the button label to indicate Auto-Sync is on, then you can change the button label to read "Auto Sync Off". And if the On indication has an "ommi-present" quality to it - so much the better.

You will lose your app data unless you backup to the new computer and then restore from backup will all the app in the iTunes library of the new computer.

All your User information should still be there after the Upgrade...
Would suggest that you turn TM Off and Disconnect it from your Mac for the Upgrade.
Also... Before attempting any Major Upgrade... get yourself an External Hard Drive... and create a Bootable Clone Backup of your current Hard Drive...
By far the easiest way to make such a Backup, is to use something like
SuperDuper http://www.shirt-pocket.com/
or CCC http://www.bombich.com/
That way, should anything untoward happen during the Upgrade, you will NOT LOSE ANYTHING.
(Get an EHD that is at least equal to your current Drive...)

Keywords doesn't work across the board if you use lot's of folders so I have been putting all into one folder tell me this is not wrong or do I have to separate all again.....Ahhhh

I'd say it depends. You will get faster performance when accessing music and images from your flash drive. You could move your images and music to the flash drive for now. In the future if you are getting short of space there you could move them out to your Thunderbolt drive later.
I've not had the privilege of running a configuration like yours but would be surprised if you had any issues with performance even with some of your files on the Thunderbolt drive so it may not matter too much either way.

Can I burn PSE 12 download for off line install?

If I buy the PSE 12 upgrade download from Adobe, does the download include all of the files that I need to burn to a DVD so I can do an off-line installation on another computer? I am concerned that the download will just be an installer that requires an Internet connection to perform the installation. Thanks.

Obviously I did not make myself clear. Sorry. I have PSE 11 installed and I have an Adobe Id. I assume that when I download the PSE 12 update I will get a new license key. If I have the installation files on a DVD or hard drive and I need to install without an Internet connection I should be able to do so and run in trial mode until I get connected. I do understand that if I have to reinstall on a different machine I will have to have an Internet connection to register the new machine.
Normally I would wait until early December when Costco has the boxed product. They always have a better price than any altenative I have found. Unfortunately, because I have a new Canon 70D and only PSE 12 supports the 70D I would like to get it now. I can use the DNG converter to edit images, however, there is no way to get the Canon 70D RAW files into the Organizer and that will become a larger and larger problem that I will have to fix when I finally do get PSE 12. Thanks to both yourself and John for your help.

Different problem - OP sees duplicates in the import window - you are importing twice (once automatically form PhotoStream and a second time by connecting the camera) - importing a photo twice will always give you two copies - do one or the other - not both

How do i get all my photos from my old phones icloud back up either onto my computer or on my new phone , there saved as two separate back-ups ?

okay so unfortunately I lost my iphone 4 battery died and everything so was no chance of finding it even with find my iphone , fortunately I backed up every photo to my icloud I know there all there because I accidentally corrupted my phone during an update and restored from the cloud and it brought back all the photos (this was before I lost it) now with my old phone I never had photo stream or synced my phone to my computer so the pictures are just on the icloud . and I know they are there , but since I got my new phone my icloud management shows two backups , my current phone , and my old phone , so all the old pictures are still there , is there anyway of getting these pictures from the icloud either onto my laptop or on my new phone ? thanks

Have a look at http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4859 for more help. Setup assistant should prompt you for your apple I'd and password then you should be abl to select a backup from iCloud.

Iphone 4 will not sync all my photos after lion update

I just upgraded to Lion, and my iphone 4 will no longer sync all my photos. Nearly 600 are missing. I recieved the below error message -
Some of your photos, including the photo "AANP.JPG", were not copied to the iPhone "My iPhone" because they cannot be displayed on your iPhone.
All my photos were showing before I upgraded to Lion. All the files in question are a .jpg format
Here is what I have tried/checked-
I made sure all my photos were checked when syncing my iphone to itunes
I restored my iphone to orginal settings (it shows that there should be 1900 photos in itunes, but my phone only downloads 1300 of them)
I have made new albums and folders to get the files to show, but oddly enough my phone will not download them.
I do know about the article that says I need to restore the iPhone photo cache...and maybe I am slow, but I have no idea how to find the cache to clear it. I realize there is a tab in itunes that says photos, but how do I clear the cache from here?? The article is very confusing, and I really need more detailed directions.
The article says - If you need to free up space on your hard drive, or are directed to do so by another article, you can locate and remove the iPod Photo Cache folder(s).

Which is all well and good, but where do I find this cache???

Update - I found the iphoto cache deleted it. This did not work.... it still cannot find the photos. I then placed all the photos on my desktop and synced my phone to the folder. It found ALL the pictures on my desktop folder. I would still prefer to find a fix, so I can sync my photos to iPhoto....

After upgrading iPhoto for Yosemite I have lost virtually all my photos in iPhoto. What's going on??

Help! I recently upgraded to Yosemite OS on my iMac desktop. I then needed to upgrade iPhoto which I did yesterday. Now, when I open my iPhoto icon there are only about 100 photos left of probably about 1,000. I should mention that all the photos WERE there at first but then I moved my iPhoto Library to the dock and when I opened it, most were gone. Does anyone know how I can get my photos back??? It is best not to move your iPhoto library around and there is no need to have it available from the dock - leave the iphoto libraries in your uses folder - to sitc between libraries hold dow the option key while lunching iphoto - use the resuling select library window to select the library you want - it will remain your default library until you switch again
