Should I buy a GSIII from Verizon?

I have been looking at the GSIII and all the features and reviews look pretty good except for one. Verizon. On Amazon the phone received 13 1 star reviews 9 of which had more to do about Verizon than the phone.  I am up for renewal, should I get the GSIII from another carrier or a different phone from Verizon or stick with my Facinate?

I keep looking through the App Store at all the utilities I could download.   But the GS3 does it all.   The camera is the best one I've used.
I have always been happy with Verizon service.   You must make your own choice.
I will only caution you this.....the GS3 is new, brand new.   Not all the bugs are ironed out yet so for every 10  happy customers  there is one that wants to chuck the GS3 out the window.   If you are "techie" you will have no problem and will enjoy fiddling with the phone.   It borders nicely on a mini tablet in its use and itch an SD card, storage too.
If you go ahead, exercise your return option without fail, before it expires.   A few customers let the time run out and are stuck with a phone that they don't know how to use, or doesn't t work as it should.

  • Should I buy iphone 6 plus @ Verizon store for $200 promotion by trading in old iphone 4? What if I bought it at Apple Store..

I bought new iphone 6 plus @ Apple store online.  Yes I upgraded another 2 years verzion contract service.  Here is my question.
Am I still qualified for Iphone Trade In promotion $200 by trading in my old iphone 4?  I got confused.  One of Verizon guys via phone call said to me that I would be qualified for the promotion even though I bought Apple store (NOT Verizon store)  I was also told by one of verizon store sales that I would not be qualified because i didn't buy it at Verizon store.
Please clarify what's condition of iphone 6 plus purcahse.  Should it be at Verizon store? or regardless??
In addition, should my purchase on Verizon Edge Plan for this promotion?  What about "Upgrade phone without changing existing plan"?  Am I still qualified for this promotion?
    Thanks.

You will only get the Verizon promotion if you make the purchase from Verizon.

  • Buying phone not from verizon.

If i buy a phone from someone that is a verizon phone but not from the verizon store, can i just switch my plan to that new phone? will this cost a lot? Or what are the rules with this one.....thanks

It depends on what plan you currently have, and if it is compatible with the phone you have selected.  A Verizon service rep can confirm this for you when you check the ESN.  The ESN is the serial number that identifies the phone on Verizon, it is found under the battery on most phones, but a quick Google search or check of the phone's manual should show you exactly where to look.

  • If I don't live in the USA I have to buy the Ipad from Verizon or AT

If I don't live in the USA, I have to buy the IPad 2 from Verizon or AT&T so I can use the 3G anywhere

The Verizon iPad will only work in the US, you will need to go with the AT&T version.

  • HT201269 If I buy a iPhone from verizon can i still use the Genius bar. Can my wife still go to group classes a Apple

I am thinking about buying my wife a IPHONE 5C , She has a IPAD . My question is I have always bought from Apple Store before this. I am  with Verizon for other phones and Hotspot.  It seems like I come out  ahead by buying from Verizon as far as minimum GB
I would still like to use Genius Bar and group sessions at Apple store . Can a person do this if you buy from Verison ?
    THANKS

If you haven't purchased your iPhone then yes, you can. Be sure to mention that you want AppleCare+. If they don't know anything about it, leave the store and order through Apple's website. Some of those VZW salespeople are anything but geniuses...

  • I am buying iPad 3 from us to use in use. should i buy AT&T or Verizon

I am buying ipad 3 ftom the us to use in UAE. should i get AT&T or Verizon

In terms of international use, both versions are identical (BOTH have a SIM slot and both support the same 3G and LTE frequencies).
The choice really only matters if you live in, and will be using the devie in the USA as Verizon's and AT&T's LTE coverage is not identical - both only have limited LTE at this time and one or the other may be your best choice depending on where in the USA you live.
But you can buy either one, pop the SIM out and go with a local provider.

  • Do i have to buy a phone from verizon to use the edge plan? can i buy a used verizon phone and still recive the $25 per month discount with 10 gigs of data?

id prefer to buy a used phone for a lower price, but only if i can still get the edge discount

Don't do it... That verizon Edge will literally bring you over the edge should you try to leave, be sure to read the complete contract which they don't advertise correctly...
Verizon Wireless is basically a criminal who misleads their customers. My contract was almost up. I sign up for the Edge program, and the way it was explained to me, was "oh this way you can upgrade when you want (really once a year) and you aren't in a contract". Well that was a lie. I decide to go elsewhere so I call and ask what I need to do. They say "well, you are in a contract", (ok that wasn't told to me but fine) I ask what my termination fee is, they say "To get out of your edge program, you have to pay the $500 remaining fee for your phone ( Galaxy S5 which I was paying monthly, $25) and a termination fee for your service of $150."
HOLD up, so basically you are telling me that you guys came up with a way to charge two **** termination fees????? If I decided to take my phone with me, I could almost understand that, but If I give the phone back, why would I be paying for something that is no longer in my possession??? They say" That is how the Edge program works" WHAT COMPANY RUNS GAME LIKE THAT ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY ARE GOING TO TAKE THAT PHONE AND RESELL IT??? WHAT COMPANY LIES AT THE START OF A PROGRAM AND NEVER TELL YOU WHAT THE REAL DEAL IS???
I will be making it my business to go to every possible website to not only complain but warn potential customers to stay away from this company who will mislead you and then rob you when you decide to walk away. I worked for a telecommunication company for 10 years and never heard of anything like this in my life...***?!?!?!?!?!?

  • Buying replacement bateries from verizon

I took my mother into the local Verizon shop (Helena Montana) to get a new battery for her LG phone, only to be told that the Verizon store doesn't sell batteries, and was sent to a Battery Plus store 2 blocks away.  Does it strike anyone else as odd/ridiculous that a Verizon store does not stock/sell batteries?  they have a store full of phones but no batteries to sell? I guess there's no profit in it for them.  Batteries Plus is doing o.k. replacing cell phone batteries, including IPhones. no more need to mail your apple phone back just to get the battery replaced.

first, I'm assuming (but don't quote me on it) that Batteries Plus is authorized to do iPhone work as they advertise it on radio/tv and window posters.  second, as much as I dislike Apple for its policies, my original complaint points out that in the case of buying new batteries for phones that a user can swap batteries in, Verizon is not much better.  how about some logical, friendly, complete customer service?  they sell me a high price android phone which I love but they won't/can't sell those batteries.  (one of the reasons I bought it was that I could take it backpacking with extra charged batteries that I could swap out on top of the continental divide-fed ex doesn't pick up and deliver iPhones at 10,000 feet)

  • Keep same number just buying the phone from verizon off the web?

can you keep your same number if you buy " lets say a 169.00$ deal for a Iphone 4S"(pre paid). can you just have it shipped and then have a third party retailer activate it for you? with the existing number you have?

Great question clo22! Are you a current VZW customer? If so, yes we can get that number transfered. If your not a current VZW customer we may have to issue you a temp number and attempt to port your old number in.

  • If i buy iPhone from verizon can i still purchase apple care

If I buy my phone from verizon can I still purchase apple care plan from apple?

You sound really certain about this -- but Apple's current info page for AppleCare+ says "AppleCare+ must be purchased together with new covered equipment." (bottom of this page: http://www.apple.com/support/products/iphone.html )
And AppleCare isn't one of the "accessories" Verizon seems to let you order with the phone. So wouldn't this mean it's impossible to order it from Verizon and get AppleCare?

  • Buying a Droid from Costco

If I were to buy the Droid Incredible 2 from Costco, when my contract expires, can I return and buy a phone from Verizon store? Because by then I'll be in college and would have saved enough money to just buy a smartphone from Verizon....

Do you mean your NEXT upgrade, in 20 months?  Or go buy the INC 2 at Costco, then try to upgrade with Verizon in a few months?  Your question is not clear (to me) at all.  Upgrading through Costco is the same as upgrading anywhere else - you have to be eligible, and it comes with a 2 yr contract; you will be eligible to upgrade again in 20 months.
And I apologize for all the typos in my previous post - YIKES! I didn't proofread very well at all....

  • If i buy ipad mini from website for sprint or verizon should i have to make a contract with cellular supplier or not  and if i take it to England does LTE (4G) will work their with my carrier

if i buy ipad mini from website for sprint or verizon should i have to make a contract with cellular supplier or not  and if i take it to England does LTE (4G) will work their with my carrier

AT&T and europe all use GSM . There is no CDMA in Europe
A genuine unlocked iPhone 4/4S  from Europe will work fine
A similar unlocked iP5 will work on 3G but NOT on  4G as the
European  iP5 does not have the 4G bands suitable for use in US
and the warranty will not be valid in the US it is not international

  • Buying a contract free phone from Verizon (HTC DROID DNA)

    Hi,
I apologize if this is the wrong place to post this, but I cannot find answer to this question. I live in Europe (Croatia) but in a month I'l visit NYC. While I'm there my plan was to buy HTC DROID DNA from Verizon as a contract free phone. As it is a Global Network phone will it work with my own network carrier and sim card back in Europe?
    Thanks in advance

The DNA will work on the following GSM/UMTS network frequencies (per the DNA info page), if your carrier uses one of these you should be good.
    Global Network: GSM (850MHz, 900MHz, 1800MHz, 1900MHz), UMTS (850MHz,
    900MHz, 1900MHz, 2100MHz)
    Good luck.

  • Do not buy anything from Verizon that they ship to you

I have returned 2 Apple iPhone 6s that did not work properly (Verizon could not even activate the second one) and now the bullies at Verizon are charging me for both despite the fact they were returned to them almost 3 weeks ago. I have called 6 times and spent hours on hold. Great customer service, really nice people, but they are useless. Beware: never buy anything from Verizon that is shipped to you. They will screw you. I have the tracking numbers. The Customer Reps acknowledge receipt, but no credit given.

This is not the type of experience we want our customers to have.  Did you use the shipping labels provided by Verizon Wireless?  How did you ship the phones back? Provide more details to better assist.

  • HELP! I need some help from true Mac fans! What should I buy???

So, I'm moving to Japan, which has a couple of implications (other than the fact that my wife's parents and my parents are looking for any legal recourse to stop us from taking their only grandchild out of the country). More importantly however, I have had to sell my B&O TV and music system (different signals from the UK where we now live). I also decided to sell our stereo (or rather my wife decided it was too bulky so as long as it was not in the living room or bedroom I could keep it...). Finally, I need a new laptop for personal use. I have some friends that are absolute mac fans, who have convinced me to go over to the other side (i.e. yours).
The opportunity I now have is to create a complete system as I need a laptop, something to play my music, a TV, etc. Given I am starting from a clean sheet I was hoping somebody out there could help me 'design' a complete set-up. My wife and I are keen photographers (both photography and video), we like listening to music, and watching movies (we definitely need a region-free DVD player), so what should we buy?
Any input would be hugely appreciated.

OSX also supports IME right out of the box.

It sets up pretty well, too; I like it more than Mircrosoft's implementation (language bar).
Only thing to keep in mind is where you buy the MacBook; if you get it in Japan you'll get a Japanese keyboard, which displays most of the kana alongside the keys. You also get the conversion and switch keys on the keyboard itself, which is great.
The MacBook Power Unit is multi-voltage, so no matter where you pick it up the worst you need is a plug adapter; although getting one from apple would be best. Just don't think you need to buy a new power unit, only the plug and cable.
