Should i buy it or not ?

Question

i was keen to order a copy of aperture, but after reading through a few of the messages in this discussion its got me worried to say the least !
It seems as if there are people talking a bout its bad points more than its good but that could be because the people that dont have problems with the program are to busy using and enjoying it, to enter this discussion.
I payed a lot of money for my canon 1ds MK2 because i wanted the best slr i could afford. I read that this camera was supported so why are people having problems with crw2 files?
we all need a work tool like aperture but would u guys fork out the money again if you knew what you do now ???

first of all let me say thanks for the help full advice from all of you,
where i think that my idea of aperture's "work tool" would fit into my workflow:
i shoot portrait photos with my canon eos 1ds mk2 in public surrounding outdoors usually and send the shots directly to my power book 17"G4 directly via wireless (wft-e1) and instantly display for customers choosing of photo's. for this im using canon's digital photo professional 1.6 i found with this program that the raw files took ages to open so i display to my costemers only the small jpeg file which looks great on the screen anyway usually and the raw files i keep stored on my sandisk 4 gb flash card in the camera to transfer later to my G5 2ghz dual 2g ram for processing via ACR in ps cs2 then outputted to my pictrography 4500 for photos or roland versacamm sp-300 for posters and canvas work, i everything color calibrated correctly with my eye-one device from camera to printers
The canon program Digital Photo Professional 1.6 i use for presenting to customers for approval because i think it looks the most pro, but i get a lot of customers asking me to show one shot next to another where aperture would come in handy also to show how clear the eye detail is by clicking on the image to switch it to 100% sometimes scares the customer when they see their face so big, so i think that the magnifying tool would be good too.
i found in this program dpp that at 100% the photo looks bang on crisp and sharp but after processing it to tiff in photo shop it aquires noise so i use ACR with a slight smoothing and it processes better to my eye anyway. but still slow to open even though i remind myself that the files 50mb big when opened.
my files that i access are stored in a ftp sever on my power book im not sure wether aperture syncs with a file if so does it auto refresh thumbnails , or if each photo has to be manually imported?
as far as the raw proccesing is concerned i guess i'll have to live with whats best because even with a little added grain to my photos through the raw processing as i dont know of any better with speed that im using apart from possibly aperture .
90 % of my photos dont need any adjustment others only slight so it dont worry me to much about the adjustment in aperture. the white balance i set from the camera via a gretag macbeth grey balance card
I think id buy it just for the attractive interface for my customers to view there photos from but depends on wether i have to manually import each photo from the ftp file as files are being show as shots are being taken so things might start getting complicated
sorry for the long read but just trying to get my workflow info and needs from this program over to get a more universal answer
