Should I buy the top-of-the-line 15" MBP or the Baseline 15" model (isa)

Now, I'm looking to buy a new 15" MBP when Mac OS X Lion comes out (isa). But my problem is should i buy the top-of-the-line model or the Baseline Model (isa).
So, I'm also waiting for the MBP with the new design maybe 2013 model (isa) so let's say the MBP is going to stay with me for 1 and a half years or two years(isa). I also have to tell you that I'm NOT THAT MUCH OF A GAMER, so tell me guys, with all the info that I've given you. which one do you recommend. O, btw, this is my FIRST Mac (isa).Plus, I'm also planning to upgrade the screen resolution to 1680 by 1050 resolution and the HDD to 500GB@7200RPM (isa)

It really depends on how your going to use it. For general usage, the baseline 15" model will be fine. The major difference between the baseline and top of the line model is the graphics card. Since you don't do much gaming, the improved graphics the top of the line model offers won't really effect you and the graphics card included in the baseline model is plenty fast any way. The faster processor clock speed offered by the top of the line model will offer a negligible performance improvement in day to day use too, only really benefiting you in more advanced tasks like video editing.
Finally, since you only plan to keep the MBP for 1 & 1/2 years, there's really not much point in spending large amounts of money on upgrades when you plan to replace the system soon.
Overall, in your case, there isn't much point in getting the top of the line model since you don't need the extra graphics performance unless your doing high end video editing, photo editing or gaming (which you say your not). Stick with the baseline model.

Assuming you did this with a Fill Layer, double-click the thumbnail in the Layers panel to bring up the Gradient Fill dialog, see to it that the [ ] Align with layer checkbox is set, and (while the Gradient Fill dialog is still up) try dragging the gradient to where you want it on the main display. Then [ OK ] out of the Gradient Fill dialog.

YOu will need to contact your cell phone provider to resolve those issue, those are carrier features.

I had a MacBook which cracked several times over the three years I had it. Each time it was repaired under warranty without quibble.
I had to use Windows XP quite a lot, and though I can't be certain I think that the excessive heat generated by XP was partly to blame for the repeated cracking. There's no doubt that OS X is "cool" in every sense of the word!

How do I go back to my original blog design when after I upgraded firefox my top border changed to go only halfway across the page and a line now runs down the middle of my blog? Not on other computers, just mine.

I would just like my blog to return to its original format with no line down the middle of the page and the top border going across the entire page not just halfway. This happened immediately after I upgraded to Firefox 6. My blog's format is normal on other computers but not normal on my computer. Thank you.

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed the maximum file size (1 MB).
Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems.

If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" as a (too) high value can cause issues.

Make sure that you allow websites to choose their fonts.

It is better not to increase the minimum font size, but use an extension to set the default page zoom to prevent issues with overlapping text.

Pressure to the top of a Macbook Pro can ruin the LCD!

Just a rant here which has probably already been covered but thought I'd post it anyway
as a warning to anyone who hasn't already run into this.
Discovered the hard way that putting a Macbook Pro in my travel computer bag (which is
usually stuffed) is a very bad idea. Seems other items in my bag pushed against the top
of my macpro and left a nice ghost on my LCD. Granted my actions caused the issue but
would have been nice if there was a "handling instruction" or sticker or something stating
this could happen. I certainly would have taken pre-cautions had I known this could be an
issue. Of course, Apple wouldn't touch it under warranty.
I've never seen this in all the laptops I've used over the years. It's very disappointing to see
it happen to such a "premium" device. Just be aware when packing it to carry as to ensure
you don't squeeze it in any way.

I don't believe my problem is quite the same but close enough to comment. I have a shady spot on the left side of my screen. It truly looks like a ghostly image there, the shape of a staple (or a bracket I should say, no staples anywhere near my bag). It's not physical damage to the exterior part of the LCD and it doesn't look like damage to the liquid crystal beneath. It looks like a smudge but is only really noticeable with bright colors on the screen.
My problem with this is that I treated my old iBook poorly for years smashing it into a book bag and not one visible anomaly ever occurred to it. I buy a MacBook Pro I have this "shadow" and even the keys of the keyboard are starting to mark up the LCD and I use a computer bag to carry it around with (not just thrown in a book bag like my iBook was). It bothers me to think the more expensive machine is the most fragile. I've considered taking it in for a Genius to look at it but fear I'll get the answer you have.

Is there a way to link text fields, so when you reach the end of one line it moves to the next?

I often use Acrobat Pro to create forms, whether it be from an existing document or from scratch, and this has always irritated me. I know you can create a text field and select the Multi-line option; however, this is not what I am looking to do. I have a form that has a Yes or No Radio Button, then below it says "If yes, please explain:" followed by 3 lines to respond. When I run it through the Form Creator, it places three text fields on the response lines - as it should. The first line is shorter because of the text, which is why I cannot use the Multi-line option. So is there a way to link these three text fields, so that when I reach the end of the first line it stops and automatically moves to the next?

These types of lines are a left-over from printed forms. There's no reason
to keep using them if your form is digital.
The best approach is to combine the fields to a single multiline field, and
get rid of the first line. Trying to link text fields together is very
tricky. I haven't yet to see it done properly.

I did a COPY of some text from a web page, and then did a PASTE into notepad.exe (Windows). The text from each line was duplicated -- on the line! Instead of "Fred", it became "Fred Fred".

I just recently installed Firefox for the first time. It seems nice and quick. The version is reported as: "10.0.1".
I wanted to save some text from a web page, so navigated to that page, selected the text, and pressed the Control-C combination to COPY the selected text to the buffer. For example, the text I selected looked something like this:

NOTE: Each line of text has a small icon to the left of the text.
It is not reasonable to COPY and PASTE each line individually, as there can be hundreds of lines of data. I recall, however, that
doing a COPY and PASTE on this data into Microsoft's Excel will produce cells which have the icons included in the cell, but unfortunately one cannot can't get rid of them! At least I've never found a way to remove them, but that's another issue. :)
Once I'd done the COPY operation I switched to a Notepad window and did a PASTE operation. To my surprise, the text from each line was duplicated. It looked like this:
Harry Harry
Ron Ron
Hermione Hermione
Hagrid Hagrid
Albus Albus
Thinking that there might be something unusual about the web page I looked at the source, but it appeared "normal" -- that is, as expected.
Note: I have done this operation several times before, and have never seen this occur before.
Note: In the actual data some of the lines have quoted text in them. Curiously there is weird behavior on these lines. In some cases the entire line is shown only once. (These occur at the top of the line, and the quoted text is at the beginning of the name.)
When quoted text appears "later" in the name, in some cases the quoted text is duplicated, and in other cases the quoted text is missing altogether! I have also noticed an error with the quoted text, and so will be reporting that to the web site which generates the HTML.
Note that each line of "text" is "anchor text", so if I click on a name the browser navigates to a page for that name.
I believe that the problem is that the COPY operating in Firefox is not simply copying the visible text, but also the ALT=

When printing from iPhoto picture is printing on the top corner with just 1/4 of the total photo

Can anyone point me to the settings that control printing final output? My photos are coming out cropped to the upper corner with only the first corner of the photo printing. All other printable programs turn out as they should. No printer issues; photos from card to pribnter print as they should.

Because you are printing a different size than the image - you give no details so one can only provide generalities
If you have an image that is 4:3 in dimensions and print it as an 8x10 image something has to give - it is the top or side of the image
Crop to the dimensions of the print - and you will lose nothing

When switching my iPhone on a message appears in black and white tiny writing on the top left hand corner. It displays the apple sign but won't let me do anything.

HT5625 Here's my story: I "signed out" of my account on my IPAD. Then I DID NOT hit "create a new ID" - I simply filled in the top information with new email and password (the ipads new owner) - this got all set up but now when it wants to update anything

because I will be moving and will be unable to use that address much longer...
now I am not yet sure I can update my own apps (will it ask for old email and password?)
on the given IPAD - with the new Apple ID and password it is asking for
my present but soon to be disabled email with password - but it does not
recognize the password (i dont think it will recognize it when i upgrade as well!)

Apps are forever tied to the Apple ID under which they were purchased. If your friend wants to be able to manage apps on their device using their own Apple ID, they will need to delete all the apps purchased using your Apple ID and buy their own.
Hopefully, you just updated your own Apple ID with the new email and didn't make the mistake of creating a new Apple ID. If you created a new ID, stop using it now, don't buy anything using it and go back and update the ID under which you purchased your apps.
