Should i calibrate ipad 4 battery? and best way

I have had iPad 4 for 1 and half years. Battery performance is still good but battery meter is acting weird. Battery jump drops to stuck at a percent for long. I have never calibrated battery as told by apple of full discharge and then full charge as i have heard it hurts the battery. Should i calibrate and how(best way)?. Thanks.

Battery care
1. Make sure you run the battery down to 5% and then charging it to 100% once a month.
2. You should start charging your iPad when the battery charge is less than 10%. Over discharging the battery will shorten the lifespan of its battery.
3. Never store the battery fully discharged. Apply some charge before storage, and then charge fully before use.
4. When possible avoid frequent full discharges. Instead, charge the battery more often. There is no concern of battery's memory when applying unscheduled charges.
5. Avoid iPad from overheating > 35°.
6. Remove casing/sleeve when charging to allow heat to dissipate from back cover
7. To save battery power turn off :
a. background app refreshing
b. push notifications and/or push mail
c. lower screen brightness
d. minimize the use of location services
e. increase Fetch New Data interval.

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

With supervised ipads, what is the best way to transfer photos and videos to the PC? Wireless transfer is not an option in our circumstances.

There are only two ways of transfering things on the iPad.
      - via WiFi
      - via usb cable
From what I have read, you need to connect to iTunes on the supervising PC.

  • What is the proper and best way to destroy a java.util.List or Array for GC

    Hi,
If I have a java.util.List of objects lets say:
List<File> files = new ArrayList();The List contains 1000 file objects. When my class finishes, is it enough to do
files = null;to make GC able to release it from memory?
Cause it seems like I can't do the following:
    for(int i = 0; i < extracted_files.size(); i++){
                extracted_files.get(i) = null;
}Or should I use this one:
files.clear()What is the proper and best way to do this in order to avoid memory leaks? How about normal Arrays like File[]?

But what if the List is a class variable running in a Web Service for like months without terminating? You mean if the List variable is a member variable of a long-lived object? Then presumably the list needs to live as long as the object does. In the unlikely scenario that the object needs to live on but its list member variable does not, then yes, setting the member to null will be needed to make the list eligible for GC. But I highly doubt this is your situation, and if it is, you probably have a design flaw.
And if the list is referenced only by a local variable, then, as I already said, when the method ends, the variable goes out of scope, and the List is eligible for GC.
Now, a slightly different situation is when the List needs to live a long time, and at some point during its life, you're done using some object that it refers to. In that situation, simply remove the element from the list (or set the element to null if it's an array rather than a list), and then if it's not referenced anywhere else, it can be GCed.
How about Arrays like File[]? Do I need to iterate through the array and null all the objects or is it enough to just null the Array?YOU. DON'T. NEED. TO. HELP. GC. You don't need to set the elements to null, and you most likely don't even need to set the array variable to null.
Also note that only references can be null, not objects.

Before you go, move the files to I tunes and sync them down.  There is no viable way to stream from your nas drive to the pad.

  • What is the easiest and best way to install or open flash drive in Sarfari on my Macbook Pro...2010 model using mountain lion

what is the easiest and best way to install or open flash drive in Sarfari on my 2010 macbook pro using mountain lion?

There is no really good way to do what you want. Any tracks you purchase via your own iTunes Store account are for your personal use, tied to your iTunes Store account, and can't be given to anyone else. If you don't want to gift the tracks to her and can't access her iTunes Store account, the only option other than creating her a completely new iTunes Store account (which will require a new email address for her) is to buy the CDs those tracks are on.

What is the easiest and best way to upgrade Mac OS X 10.5.8 to Lion?

Make sure your Mac meets Lion's requirements >  Apple - OS X Lion - Technical specifications
Since you are running v10.5.8, you need to upgrade to Snow Leopard which installs the Mac App Store which you need in order to download and install Lion.
Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.)
If you don't have a high speed internet connection, you may want to purchase Lion on Lion USB Thumb Drive - Apple Store (U.S.)

  • 2.1 Out and Best way to Update if you are a mobile me subscriber's

From My experience put your phone in to DFU mode and reset your phone back to new.
Remember this works for me and I recommend it if you use MOBILE ME.
Download the new Firmware and then follow the below

once Itunes has installed the new firmware.
Then re-sync your data again, as if you just bought it.
If you use mobile me this is the best option for you as all your data is stored on apple servers and will update your phone from your mobile me account.
** you will loose the following... SMS and all call logs and your favorites some and all preference settings..
To eliminate any confilicts from apps etc this is the best way to go and give your iphone a fresh start.
I have always done this with the last updates and never had a problem with any conflicts, and performance issues.
Remember this is for mobile Me users as all you Contacts,Callender, and Mail is stored remotly.
Keep us posted on your 2.1 findings.

The fastest way is to directly change the values in the catalog.pse9db database.  The database is a SQL Lite database, so if you know (or know someone who knows) how to run SQL queries against a database, you're in luck because Adobe did an excellent job of designing a highly normalized database schema.
I highly recommend first trying this on a copy of your database.  In general, the procedure goes like this:
Add one of your images on the P: drive into the catalog.  This will establish a listing for the P: drive and its identification in the volume_table table.
Run a SQL query against the volume_table table to see a listing of all the rows.
Note the values of the "id" column for your "thehive" volume and the "P:" volume.
Run a SQL query against the media_table table to update the value of the volume_id column, replacing all instances of the "thehive" id number with the id number of your "P:" drive. The SQL query will look something like this:
    Update media_table
        set volume_id = "<your new value>"
            where volume_id = "<your old value>"
I've tested this with PSE9.0.3 on Win7, changing the location from a CD on my E: drive to a USB stick on my F: drive.
    Good Luck!

  • Apple Lossless vs. AAC 256k - and best way to change

I originally imported all my 1500 cds as Apple lossless files figuring that would give me the best audio quality for playing back through my AppleTV. But I have realized that sometimes my bandwidth is not enough (when other are downloading from their computers in the house) and the playback stutters. I also want to be able to fit more songs on my iphone.
So now I am thinking about re-encoding using AAC 256khz - I do not think I can really hear much difference.
Firstly what are your opinion on the relative quality of AAV vs. Apple Lossless files....
and secondly is it best to re-encode by ripping all my cds again (please say no) or can I just select all the lossless files in itunes and have it convert them all to AAC - and if that is the best way how do it do it....?
    Many thanks for your help...

Well, I have the same question. So last night I compared the original CD vs. Apple Lossless vs. AAC 256kbit/s.
And to be honest: I cant really hear a difference between AL & AAC@256.
When I knew which version I was hearing I felt that AL is a bit more clear in the highrange. But when I closed my eyes and asked my girlfriend to randomly pic a quality, I only guessed right in 6 out of 10 trys. So I guess I cant tell the difference.

In case I later start hearing classic music or jazz, I might do this test again.

  • Clean and best way to style web forms

    Hi everyone,
I'm having trouble styling my web forms and I cant seem to find a anyone else with the same problem?
I'm just wondering what are everyone's ways how they style there forms to there designs instead of the business catalyst default style.
I know where to find my stylesheets but I would love to find any info to make it an easy process or if someone could direct me to a tutorial for the quickest and easiest way to style forms with out breaking them.
    Thanks
    Luke

    Thanks for your help Liam.
Also when I insert a form on a page it's fine but when I have a template assigned to that page I think the form trys to use the CSS from the template and it doesn't quite work.
Not sure if you can see this http://webbasictest2.businesscatalyst.com/questionnaire.html but my buttons were only text before too.

  • Easiest (and best) way to stream video from iMac to TV

    All,
Trying to look for the highest quality, easiest & least expensive ways to get HD video from my iMac to my TV.
I could run wire - but that's sloppy, and a pain in the butt. Probably least expensive though.
Could get a Mac mini - but that's expensive.
Looking into getting a USB device (they sell them on TigerDirect.com) that beams the signal to a receiver - but they seem to be Windows based.
I do have a PS3 & XBOX360, and I know there are some programs out there to do this, but I've never been satisfied with the quality - major stalling or streaming issues gumming up the entertainment.
Can you folks weigh in with your tips, tricks or suggestions?
    Thanks.

how about *powerline adapters* _*such as these*_ ?

how about an TV ? there should even be refurbished units available from your local Apple online store.

  • Simple, safe and best way to solve SL install problem

Not long ago, the internal 230GB drive on my Intel iMac (2.16GHz, Late 2006, 4GB RAM) became unusable ('nuther story there...). So I tried starting up from my external 1TB drive where the Time Machine backups were stored. It had Leopard (10.5.something, which I then updated to 10.5.8) on it. Then after restoring some files from TM backups, I wanted to try to retrieve some apps that needed SL 10.6.8 to run. I tried to install from my SL install disc, but the SL installer said I couldn't (APM vs. GUID/GPT format); apparently the drive was formatted with APM (dang!). The install disc said I had to (re-)partition in GUID/GPT, except that means I would have to have a backup drive for my 500GB or so of TM backups... (which I do NOT have).
So, once I get another large external drive (or get a 500GB/1TB internal and put it into my iMac), I can then wipe and re-partition the external 1TB drive, and THEN install SL on the external drive, and then move all my TM backups back to the external drive, then tell TM to use that drive for my TM backups. I think, unless there's a simpler way that really will work.
For now, I am chomping at the bit, since I have a lot of Pages and Numbers docs (those apps were bought from the Mac App Store), as well as several apps and games (free and purchased) that were downloaded also from the MAS (and require Snow Leopard 10.6 to run).
What I'd like would be for someone to simply list what steps are needed (and in what order they should be done) to safely and reliably get this done, as my patience with APM/GUID/GPT, Apple's design choices on this iMac model, and a few other Apple-related issues is wearing thin. I don't (at this point) care to have any explanation of APM vs. GUID/GPT, why Apple chose to change things what each does differently from the other scheme, etc. (I have downloaded/printed PDFs of a few pages that I will go back and read later (after I get the problems with my iMac and its backup files resolved).
Give me a checklist of the steps (starting with my getting another drive, either an internal for my iMac, or another external one), please.

there are certainly no external drives with preinstalled leopard. you'll have to buy leopard and a drive. you can install it on that drive normally but I would recommend buying a bigger internal drive for your imac. put it in, boot from the leopard install DVd and install leopard.

  • Policy and best way to get dead pixels fixed.

I have an iPhone 4 and I have 1 or 2 dead pixels surrounded by about 20 dark pixels. I was wondering if the default warranty would cover this or if I'm stuck with it. Overall the dead pixel isn't that noticeable but the dark cloud around it is really annoying. Thanks for any help you cann offer.
