Should I continie to wait for 64 bit windows 7 sp1?
OK
I currently have a woefully inadequate setup to edit hdv-PrPro CS4 bundled with Production suite CS4 windows xp pro SP3 32 bit 2 GB ram 1.66GHZ duo core proc- I could go on but I think I can hear the laughs from this side of the computer screen already
The only reason I have put off buying a new cpu is because I am used to waiting for microsoft to release the new SP 1, then reading the Adobe forums and getting a feel for if Pr Pro CS$, I mean Pr Pro CS4 really still works with the SP update. I've been reading up on this and from what I gather, a SP update to windows 7 is not imminent- When SP1 comes out- I should just be able to update to that anyway using Microsoft update right?
I had been doing this in the past to upgrade my windows xp pro from SP 2 to SP 3, but I thought I read here that Harm says it's best to reinstall everything instead of simply updating from windows 7 to windows 7 SP1
So what do you guys/gals think- am I crazy waiting for this thing?
I'm starting to think I may be
Thanks
Tony
Curt
Yeah like I said before- I can't run CS2- anymore Adobe won't let me reactivate- so I only have CS4 which like you said is 64 bit aware-
That's good enough for me right now.
Thanks everyone for the good advice- It's between what Harm and Josh said- I'm not gonna buy something immediately- but I can begin my search now and in the next couple months decide on a good i7 proc with 12GB RAM windows 7 64bit (may wait a month or two for Adobe's announcement- but not holding my breath for CUDA)- I wonder if Dell will overclock the 2.66 GHZ to 3.2GHZ for me?
It couldn't hurt to ask
Thanks everybody for your valuable expertise
When I finally make the plunge I'll post
Best
Tony

What is the plan for 64-bit Windows?
The 11G Express Edition Beta installed without warnings or errors on a Windows 7 64-bit virtual machine. However after install, the following error appears multiple times in the alert log:
OER 7451 in Load Indicator : Error Code = OSD-04500: illegal option specified
O/S-Error: (OS 1) Incorrect function. !
This error is repeats every 10 seconds in the alert log.
I understand that this is most likely because of the 64-bit OS. However, it is almost impossible to buy a Windows system today that is not 64-bit. If the plan is to only provide 11G Express Edition Beta in a 32-bit version for Windows, I think it should at least install and run properly in 32-bit mode on current 64-bit Windows operating systems. Or is a 64-bit version for Windows in the works?
Thanks! It is great to see some progress on 11G Express!

I probably obscured my question with the alert log error code. I changed the subject to my real question: What is the plan for 64-bit Windows?
Since almost all windows systems are rapidly moving to 64-bit, will 11G Express be made available in a package (either 32-bit or 64-bit) which installs and runs correctly on a 64-bit windows system? Should we report 64-bit related bugs seen with the 32-bit install package so they can be fixed or is a 64-bit package coming? Thanks!I don't dispute that you can do the install of 11G Express on a 64-bit Windows OS. It even appears to complete successfully. The database opens and you can connect to it.
However I seriously question if the underlying database processes are running correctly. My alert log is filled with hundreds of the errors that I listed in my original post.
If you have posted that you have a successful install on 64-bit Windows, could you please check your alert log and let us know if you are seeing errors, or if everything is running correctly. The alert log is the main error log for the database. You can find it in C:\OracleXE\app\oracle\diag\rdbms\xe\xe\trace\alert_xe.log. Open this file in notepad and check for errors.
Based on the errors that I am seeing, I ask again: What is the plan for 64-bit Windows? Does anyone from Oracle moderate this forum? Is 11G XE supposed to run correctly on 64-bit Windows, or what is the plan for supporting the almost universal move to 64-bit windows operating systems?
Thanks!

Simple Question: My Core2Duo MacBook cannot use DRIVERS for 64-bit Windows?
What I thought was a Windows 7-only problem, I think I may have realized that I simply cannot use the drivers for 64-bit Windows anyway. I may need to reinstall Windows 7 using the 32-bit disc instead if I want to use all the features of my MacBook.
The thing is, my MacBook is perfectly capable of running 64-bit software, is this not correct? It's only a matter of paying more if I want everything to work? At least I'll run 64-bit Snow Leopard, I'm sure that will work at least!
Message was edited by: LiQuiD_FuSioNAre you getting an error saying that Boot Camp x64 isn't supported on your system? If so, try this:
Go here: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/507-built-administrator-account-enable-disa ble.html Follow the instructions in option two, its the easiest way. You'll need an external mouse for right clicking.
Once you've enabled that, log out of your account in Windows 7/Vista, log in to the newly appeared "Administrator" account, put in the appropriate disc with the Boot Camp drivers on it, browse the files on the disc. Go into Drivers, then Apple, then right click and run "BootCamp64"as an administrator. Everything installs just fine.
Then follow the instructions on that page I linked to remove the administrator account.
I have Windows 7 Home Premium x64 installed on my original aluminum unibody MacBook. It runs without a problem. I've even installed newer nvidia GPU (not chipset) drivers. Both to get better performance in the games I do play and because the drivers that ship with Boot Camp 3 are ancient.
Everything works! Should work on any non-ATI x1x00 series Core 2 Duo Mac, since ATI/AMD will not be supporting Windows 7 on those GPUs.
I posted it originally in this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2211248&tstart=15 -
HP PSC 1315xi All in One from 32-bit XP to FULL FEATURE for 64-bit Windows 7
Switched from 32-bit XP to 64-bit Windows 7, which did not install all printing features or my scanner. Know a lot of people have this problem, can't find the forum which is exactly for this particular problem, and can't find an HP download. There are so many other companies on the HP Support pages. Might you include on your title page how to re-read this subject?
I'm afraid I'll lose my print and copy functions forever if I first Uninstall. Would checking "Add Printer" preserve my present version until after I get a successful download or maybe even a new Disk for 64-bit Windows 7? I haven't even found that yet. Thanks. [edited by Moderator]Good day AmerEagle,
I understand you have upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7 64bit and are looking to install the driver and software for your PSC 1315xi. I will certainly help you!

In what way is iTunes for 64-bit windows 64-bit?
I keep finding conflicting info on this topic. There appears to be a version of iTunes for 64-bit Windows, but task manager shows itunes.exe as being 32-bit.
In what way is this installer 64-bit? Does it install 64-bit drivers for iOS devices and iTunes, but the program is still 32-bit?The itunes.exe process itself is 32-bit (on a 64-bit install). Most of the iTunes program files are also 32-bit.
The miniplayer is 64-bit, and there are 64-bit plugins for Outlook. (You'll see those items in the iTunes folder in your "Program files" rather than in the iTunes folder in your "Program files (x86)".)
The GEAR drivers itunes uses for burning will be the 64-bit versions on a 64-bit system.
The iPod service will be 64-bit on a 64-bit system.
Apple Mobile Device Support is 64-bit (so you'll have the 64-bit Apple Mobile Device Service, and usbaapl64.sys and netaapl64.sys rather than usbaapl.sys and netaapl.sys, on the 64-bit system.)
Some of the bonjour componentry on the 64-bit install will be 64-bit.
Most everything else is 32-bit (QuickTime, Apple Software Update, Apple Application Support).
(Apologies for inaccuracies ... it's been a wee while since I checked the noir-household 64-bit Vista box for locations. The precise details of what is 32-bit and 64-bit can change between versions. For example, one of the big changes between the itunes 8.x 64-bit versions and the itunes 9.x 64-bit versions was the iPod Service going 64-bit.) -
Is there a special version of iTunes with QuickTime Player for 64 bit Windows PCs?
Yes for iTunes. Here's a link to the 64-bit installer for 10.6.0.40:
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1427
No for the QuickTime Player ... it's 32-bit and on 64-bit systems runs on the Windows-on-Windows-64 subsystem. -
I got 64 bit iTunes for 64 bit Windows 8
I got 64 bit iTunes for 64 bit Windows 8 and I can't download my purchases on iTunes in the cloud and I had just recently restore my Windows 8 64 bit back to original settings and upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 and I was thinking there has to be a patch or something to get my 64 bit iTunes to work.

Hi
For past two days I am trying to download Weblogic Server 10.3.5 and ATG 10.3.2 for 64 bit window but the download stops after downloading 30 or 40 MB and once I got network error. I dont know whats the issue. I even disabled my antivirus and firewall, still no luck. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.I hope you are using following link to download the Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3.5

Oracle recommends to use Download manager. Download Managers can help if you are having trouble connecting, completing a download, or wish to queue up several files for unattended downloading. While Oracle does not provide or certify the use of any Download Managers, we recommend choosing one that is rated for the file size you are downloading and ensuring that it allows cookies to be passed to the download server.
Or you can also request Oracle to ship DVDs, please use following MOS notes to follow the process.

I need JDK 1.5.0_8 for 64 bit windows 7
Where may I download it?Thanks for getting me to the troublemaker ArielK.
I can confirm disabling APSDaemon.exe, aka, new Apple Push for WiFi Sync and renaming (or deleting if you are more risk oriented) APSDaemon.exe and APSDaemon_main.dll in this folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support" resolved my issue.
Alternatively, another slightly more annoying but less techy workaround for those nervous about changing filenames is to start iTunes in Safe Mode every time. You must do it via Programs > iTunes > hold down Ctrl-Shift then click iTunes (does not work if you do it by clicking a short cut in programs list or taskbar, whatever...). Maybe this disables WiFi Sync by default, dunno. Don't care at this point, but it seemed to work.
I can live without WiFi Sync for now, but its a nice feature I would really like to use in the future.
Apple please fix!!!

Next screen I chose, Desktop Class, when I click next it dies. It does not show me teh next screen. Hello, have you tried to create new administrator user, and install using that newly created user...?You found this to be a band-aid solution in your specific instance. (Strange case of installation on windows 7 - unable to complete installation But you have drawn the wrong conclusions and never found the real issue in the cited thread. Under the circumstances, I would not be offering this up as a generalized solution, as you are doing in this thread and in others:

Please help me to get Oracle 10.2.0.5 software for 64 bit Windows 2008 R2
Hi All,
Subject: Please help me to get Oracle 10.2.0.5 software for 64 bit Windows 2008 R2 operating system.
I am looking for Oracle 10.2.0.5 software to install in windows 2008 server (64 bit) R2. I tried with oracle download repository but unfortunately I couldnt find this software. In the below link I can see the product Oracle 10.2.0.5 - 64 bit (Itanium). I have tried to download and install in the server but I received in-compatible error message.
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/enterprise-edition/downloads/index.html
From the oracle support certification site I have found that the Oracle 10.2.0.5 is the compatible version to installed in windows 2008 server(64) R2.
I am trying very hard to find Oracle 10.2.0.5 - 64 bit. Can you please suggest me where I can download this software.
Please do the needful.
Regards,
JameHi;
Which means, do i need to install 10.2.0.4 and then to upgrade 10.2.0.5 using patchset?10.2.0.1 is base relase 10.2.0.x is patchest. 10.2.0.5 cover previous patchest errors which mean you do not need install 10.2.0.4 than upgrade it 10.2.0.5

OWB R2 for 64 bit Windows (AMD/Intel)
Hi,
We were unable to find the owb R2 version for 64 bit windows AMD/Intel in the downloads page at oracle.
We then found out that we need to use the owb R1 (10.1.0.4) 64 bit version and then apply some patches.
We downloaded the zip file p4703215_10104_WINNT64.zip from the oracle site.
But unzipping this file gives the error below
"The image file C:\DOCUM~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\Temporary Direcotry 3 for p4703215_10104_WINNT64.zip \Disk1\setup.exe is valid, but is for a machine type other than the current machine."
Has anyone faced this problem before? Our machine is a 64 bit machine and when we try installing this on a 32 bit machine we get a message saying "this is not for a 32 bit machine"
Any help or pointers in this regard will be highly appreciated.
Thanks!
AMyes we are using windows 64 bit.
We have found out from oracle that the R2 windows is compatible for bot 32 and 64. So there is no specific one for R2.
Thanks. -
3.0 EA3 for 64-bit Windows - corrupt zip file
Hi
I have tried to download EA3 for 64-bit Windows several times now. Each time, bot 7-zip and Windows' built-in ZIP support tells me, that the ZIP file is invalid. Please fix this.
Thanks in advance,
JacobIt seems, that Firefox 4 beta 9 has some file download issues. I switched to Chrome to download the file, and here it succeeded in downloading a valid zip file. Oh well... better get this reported to Mozilla.
