Should I download the new Safari 3.1 update?
Seems like everyone is complaining about problems...

Problems relate mostly to 3rd party add-ons. So far, SAFT and SafariStand have been updated for 3.1 compatibility. PicLens is still pending. Not sure if Inquisitor is compatible, as I haven't installed 3.1 yet (I'm waiting for the PicLens update).
Another problem noted is with G-Mail. If you don't use GMail, then no concern here.
Otherwise, its a good upgrade. Plus you get a more secure browser thanks to the Security Update released yesterday by Apple.

When trying to download the new 10.5.3 update, I am told the older version of software update cannot be removed and to contact support?
Just a thought, try using the search feature of these forums, this issue has been addressed multiple times. Also, it's faster than other user's asking you to provide more details of the actual issue.

How can I download the new safari with os x 10.5.5
I know it sounds real basic, but I'm just not that good with computers. I downloaded the new iTunes, but it says that I need to update safari.
I tried doing that, but my software isn't new enough or something. How can I get the new software (my software update doesn't work either).
And please, use basic language:)If Software Update, the program from the Apple menu is failing, that issue should be resolved first before you apply any software update.

Problems downloading the new DVD Studio Pro update.
Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem/message when trying to download the new DVDSP update?;
'You appear to have already downloaded the DVD Studio Pro update.'
This also happened on the last updates that were released.
There is a workaround that I know of that I had to use last time but it seems strange that this is occuring. Has anyone else had any issues with this update (or the last for that matter)?
Any help would be greatly appreciated as Apple Tech would not help me because I am on a Volume Licence and the Apple Store that I purchased it through has not given me any help.

CarloI can get around this problem by using software update to download the updates and then use the downloaded file to update the machines but I would really like the ability to download the updates as a standalone dmg file.
I am running 20 systems on an airport network that will freeze up if I do the updates online the best i can do is 3 at once to avoid serious lag.
Being able to download them seperately was always my first choice so i could update the machines regardless of being conected to the net or not. The workaround that I am using only downloads the package file and it seems there is the possibility of them being corrupted or damaged over time (moving from server to drives to media to computers etc).
I still want to know why it thinks I have downloaded them already, it doesn't make any sense. -

I've just downloaded the new IOS 5.1 software and I discovered my music is not playing when it played before i got the update. How come the music from the music app is not playing?

I can not download the current update, 7.0.2 to my ipad 2. There is no error message it just fails to install. I have tried to download it several times with no success. Also I have tried a restart and that has not made any difference.

Don't install it unless you need it. If an application needs it it will give you a message.

Problem report for Safari reads: Safari quit unexpectedly while using the coreclr plugin.
Go to /Library/Internet Plug-Ins. If you see the Silverlight.plugin, move it to the Trash.
Now click your Apple icon (top left in your screen) then click Software Update to make sure all your software is up to date.
Restart your Mac if any updates were installed.
Try Safari / Hotmail.
If Safari crashes again, press the Report button on the CrashReporter dialog box to view the crash information.
Copy/paste the entire contents of the Crash Reporter window into your reply. If the crash report dialog does not appear or the crash is hard to reproduce, crash logs can be retrieved from the ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter> folder. -
I know the files were vital to iPhoto because I can't open it now. Can you restore these files?
Probablhy not unless you know exactly what needs to be restored
You need to restore the entire library from your backup before these files were deleted - it is not adviseable to upgrade the iPhoto application until you resolve your iphoto library problem
In the future always remember the number one rule of iPhoto - NEVER make and changes of any sort to the structrue or content of the iPhoto library

The Flash plug-in is not deleted when you upgrade Safari. But in any event you should use the most recent compatible version of Flash - Download version 10.3.183.19 for Mac OS X 10.4 - 10.5 (6.1MB) - for your version of OS X.
