Should I get a new router to get open NAT type?

Whenever I play COD Black ops 2 on my xbox 360 my NAT type is strict. I have a centurylink 660 series modem and that is working to its full potential of the bundle we bought from them. I also have an airport extreme (2009). I Know theres all these port forwarding stuff, but whenever I try to do that, my whole network crashes and I have to factory default all of my stuff. So would getting a new router help me? also, I have my airport extreme in bridge mode because It said I have a double NAT and DCHP. So what would be the best solution for getting an open NAT type for Call of Duty on Xbox 360? I also have a MacBook pro (2009).

Yes, that is what I am doing. I don't know the setup details for what you want to do, but I am running a MacBook Pro (late 2008), iPad, and a couple of iPhones on wifi through my Airport Extreme base station. I also run backups to a Time Capsule.
The base station is set up to "Create a wireless network" and runs in "DHCP and NAT" mode. The Time Capsule and two Airport Expresses are set up to "Join a wireless network". My cable modem (Ubee DVW3201b) runs in bridge mode, connected by cable to the WAN port on the base station. I have the wifi capability of the modem disabled. It took me some trial and error to get the cable modem set up properly, but there is a lot of information out on the net.

Look at the manual for the router. The password is on the router. Then change the password in the router to something other than the default one and use that password when the iPod asks for it (it will only ask once, once it has the password/router combo in its memory, it will remember it)

Take it to the Apple Store where you purchased it from. It is still under warranty. They will replace it if necessary.

Need help opening NAT type to OPEN on a model WRT54GS router for xbox 360

I have tried from other people's advice and when i test Xbox Live i always get a Moderate NAT type. I am becoming frustrated with how it is not working and I am hoping someone can help me. Please leave advice/suggestions and thank you for your time.

Open the setup page of the router using 192.168.1.1 by putting the password as admin with username as blank & click the Administration tab & on the same page you will see UPNP.You need to select it as disable in order to help opening NAT type to OPEN.

Can't get 2 XBOX 360's to open NAT on new E1000

I'm at my wits end and about to take this back. I had a Linksys WRT54GS that worked PERFECTLY with 2 360's, but even after using my old settings, using portforward.com's settings, and trying something I saw someone recommend here for someone having the same problem with an e3000, I simply cannot get both of them to open NAT. I'm having the same problem also. I have both Xboxs on static IPs and I put one on port forwarding and the other on DMZ but it doesn't seem to make any differences. It's getting me frustrated because I've tried everything and it seems to work sometimes so I backup the configurations, but the next day it goes back to strict.
I use to have a WRT54G v8 and it would work flawlessly, but this new E1000 model is giving me many problems.

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:

Cant get open nat type for PS3, it use to be but wont go back

im on Fios with the verizon router. I had the DMZ set to an ip with the PS3 also on it. the nat type was open and all was ok. I dont know how long its been this way (guessing not long because I have sucked at COD this week!) but I noticed im not at moderate. I checked the DMZ and the ip was still there. looked at PS3 and it was empty for some reason, so I put the ip back. ive restarted and tried other IPs andit will not go back to open. ive looked at youtube tutorials to be sure that im not missing anything but the vids seem tobe older because I have more options on the router settings than what the vids show, guess I have newer firmware. Any suggestions?

actually, Open is what you want. you have a lot better preformance online when dealing with fast paced games like COD. you will really notice a difference. generally you just designate an IP in the DMZ settings of the router, then tell the PS3 to only use that IP, and thats it. just seems now on my end thats no longer the case and cant get it to go

I called customer service and they were completely clueless, told me I had to pay for the Tech support to fix it. I have a Linksys E2000 and I cannot get a open nat for my PS3, tried the DMZ, and XBox settings but that obviously didnt work. So anybody have any ideas before I return this $100 router???

I've been having the same problems but on my Xbox. I'm going to try this:
On router:
1 - Status tab
   Get DNS 1 & 2
On Xbox:
2 - Static IP on Xbox
   IP: 192.168.1.xxx
   Mask: 255.255.255.0
   GW: 192.168.1.1
3 - DNS Addresses on Xbox
On router:
4 - Forward ports
   TCP 80
   UDP 88
   Both 53, 3074
5 - Security tab
   uncheck Block Anonymous Internet Requests
   disable uPnP?
6 - Reset devices

On a Mac with two monitors, how do I get a new FF window to open on the second monitor? I can do this on a Windows XP box easily enough but on a Mac FF won't remember the position of a new window. Please help!

I proof websites for a living and workflow is everything. On my 26" main monitor I have FF running the job tracking web site. In this site, there are links to the sites I need to proof. I would like to be able to right click on a URL and select 'open in new window' and have that window open up on my second monitor.

Type about:config into your address bar, press enter. Accept the warning. Search for browser.newtab.url, double click it. Put in www.google.co.uk. You should be good to go :)

I see. Well, I just tried to make IE my default browser, but it did not solve the problem. I receive the same script error when I view the image. (I may not have explained this thoroughly enough at first - I do get to view the image after answering the error message, but the print button embedded in the window doesn't work. Before, I never had a problem with viewing or printing.)
I imagine that at this point I will either need to communicate this to the IE people, or possibly revert to an older version of IE.

tested modem on different computer wired getting 55-60mbs
speed test on router is only 10mbs as is on computers when connected to router.
reset rounter many many times.
updated frrmware.
tested with and with out media Prio.
bought another router, same results.
At a loss. Help

I want to click on the tab button and have my home page appear in the new tab instead of a blank page. Is this possible and, if so, how is it done?

You can also middle-click the Home button, just like any other link. Middle-click and a Ctrl left click also works for some right-click context menu items like View Image and the list that opens with a right click on the Back and Forward button.

Can I get my new 15" display to open wider?

Yep, you guessed correctly that I've just switched from an IBM.

The reason for the limitation is simple - if you look
at your display when it is fully opened, the bottom
of the lid is nearly touching the surface it is
sitting on. If the display opened any further, the
lid would be below the bottom case of the computer
and cause scratching of the top lid etc.
Look for yourself. The laptops you refer to that
open nearly 180º all have external (and ugly) hinges,
where ours is not only aesthetically pleasing, but
also is useful as it is large enough to house our
airport antenna. I'll keep the limited range of
motion any day.
Yes, maybe it looks slightly better than the typical PC hinge, but the airport argument doesn't fly. I mean, there are a lot of PCs out there with excellent (better) wifi range than the MBP and they have the regular hinges. So, for the sake of a slightly (and really, it's just so slight - I'm a design freak) nicer looking hinge design, we are forced to twist and contort our bodies and angle the laptop in strange ways in order to take advantage of the limited viewing-angle LCD.
Surely apple can design a hinge that is beautiful, reliable and allows a wide range of display bezel movement? If they can't, I really think they should stop design laptops and focus on things like ipods that don't have hinges. I bet you though that the next apple laptop will have a redesigned hinge that will allow more flexibility. Sure we can live with this, but why would anybody DEFEND such unnecessary limitations?
