Should I get the iPod Touch 5g 16 or 32 gig?

So I've had the iPod Touch 4 for 3 years, it's only 8 gigs, there are scratches everywhere, the home button is broken, the front camera doesn't work, and it's really slow. But I've been trying to convince my self to wait until they (probably/most likely) release the 6g next year. But yesterday I dropped my iPod and the top left of the screen cracked, and now glass is coming out. So now I really want a new one for Christmas. But I'm not to sure if I should get the 16 or 32 gig, and knowing me, when they release the 6g(if they ever do) or I'll get a phone, I'll want it. So I'll probably only use the 5 for a year. The loop and the gigs difference from to 2 models really don't make a difference to me, but the back camera does because next summer I'm going out of country and I would like to take pictures with it. Which one do you think I should get?

Like everyone else has said-- forget the 16g no back camera just a front camera, great if you're a narcissist, not much use for taking pictures of the countryside. 32g will get you by, but you will fill that up in about a week, unless you plan to dump the pictures onto your computer and clear them off your iPod. Personally I have a 64g with approximate 32g free space. The used spaces is as follows approximate15g with photos and video, approximate 1900 songs using 7.6g (I use the 128 compression for the music otherwise it would take up at least 32g) and approximate 2.3g filled with apps and other. Hope this helps you with your decision. Good luck.

  • Should I get the iPod Touch? (Also a question about the screen issue)

    Hi,
I recently purchased the 8GB iPod Nano, and now i'm considering to add a $100 and get the iPod Touch 8GB. Would you guys recommend it?
Another question I had was that I heard about the iPod Touch having some Screen Issues, and read somewhere that if the Box has a picture of Macy Gray then its Bad. But I personally think the Macy Gray image is for the 8GB, and the other artist is for the 16GB.
Is there a 100% definite way for me to find out if it has a good screen or not?
    Thanks in Advance!
    Saeid.

Ok, I recommend the iPod Touch. 8GB is fine, and totally worth the $$.
The screen issue has been fixed by a firmware update, so as long as you update to the latest firmware, you should be in the clear.
I have a 16GB macy Gray and it is working perfectly so far (1 week of ownership)
However, you mentioned using your iPod in the rain. If you do so, the Touch is not for you! I would not want to get water even near it, because the technology could be very very sensitive to water. It was raining here the other day (in Los Angeles) and I was so scared to use the touch that I took my 8GB 3gen Nano with me instead. And I was still scared to use that.
You will have to take the touch out and look at it if you are going to operate it properly.
    The good news:
you can make playlists on the go! That means you can, while it is still dry, set a nice playlist without connecting to your computer. But, if the volume needs to be adjusted, there is a shortcut that would take just a bit of memorization and careful skill. In your pocket, you can double tap the home button, and then the volume, pause and track forward/backward "buttons" pop up. If you can memorize their position and hit them right, the Touch can be operated in your pocket. But make sure your hands are dry!
So it's up to you. I think quality wise, the Touch has had most of its bugs worked out. The only things that will come in the future are additional features.
Good luck and I hope you get it.

  • Should I get the iPod Touch 5th Gen or wait for the 6 gen?

I am going to buy the iPod touch 5 gen 32gb but I don't know if I should wait for the 6th Generation
Is there any rumors of the iPod touch 6th generations

The 5th gen iPod touch has only been released for around 10 months. Before that it had been almost two years since the 4th gen was released. There have been no rumors of a new one, and even if there had been, they wouldn't be allowed to be discussed on this forum.

  • Should I get the iPod Touch 5 16 gb or 32 gb?

Hello Apple Shupport Communtiy. I am wondering first of all if the newest iPod touch (5th generation) 16gb has a rear facing camera? I know for certain that the 32 gb version has a rear camera but I have seen ipod 5th generations have no rear camera. So the question is, does the ipod 5th generation HAVE a rear camera on their 16gbt devices and are Apple selling these iPods wih rear facing cameras? I have read several websites, mainly those from the middle of 2014 saying that the "smaller" iPods have no cameras on the back like this website: http://www.macworld.com/article/2040646/review-16gb-fifth-generation-ipod-touch- comes-down-to-cash-capacity-and-camera.h…, Should I get a new iPod touch from apple or from third party companies like amazon or ebay? Let me know down below! I am planning to get one by the end of this week and I want to know for sure that I am getting the right iPod:)

What I am trying to figure out is that the 16gb ipod 5 has a camera on the back or not. I have read several websites saying that this ipod has no camera while the 32 and 64gb ipods have the camera in the back. Then i found out on Apple's website that the "newer" version of the 16gb ipod touch now HAS the camera. This is what I anm trying to verify and I will buy the 32gb ipod since I had the previous ipod with the same amout of storage space and I never ran out of space compared to my iphone 4 which has 16gbs and I constantly had to delete apps and music that I didn't want to delete so 32 gbs of storage is ALWAYS the best way to go unless you like to put a lot of pictures, videos, or movies on your phone.

  • Should I buy the iPod touch 5g

Help should i get the iPod touch 5g

    I have a iPod touch 4th gen and a 5th gen:
If you use your ipod alot or you play lots of games on it i would recommend paying the extra money for the 5th generation BECAUSE:
    • the screen is SUPERB! (The same used on the iphone 5)
    • the camera is WAY better, also has a led flash which is really bright,(you can use it as a torch as well)
    • its a lot faster loading and playing games.
If you only use your ipod for music and social networking dont bother, because you really wont notice the difference.
    I HOPE I HELPED!

  • How do u get the Ipod touch to group compilations for browsing ?

How do u get the Ipod touch to group compilations for browsing ?
With Itunes 9 like earlier versions u have the option to group compilations for browsing, having the effect of not putting a huge list of artists in your view by artist list because they played one song on a compilation you have got. With my old Ipod classic this option was also available through the setting menu. Meaning my ipod exactly mirrored my itunes lists.
I have recently purchased a ipod touch 32 and can find no settings that allow me to do the same. My artist list has risen from 200 to 400 because of this and makes finding albums by artists very annoying.
I have looked on the itunes software and can find no mention of syncing this ability to the ipod either.
    Help
    Mike

Yes i do this to group compilations in itunes.
But when i then sync to the ipod touch the albums come up under compilations as desired but the artists also appear in the artist list which is not.
On my old ipod classic it had a setting to group compilations the same as in itunes which would then remove these odd artists from the artist list.
I can find no equivalent setting on the ipod touch
    Cheers
    Mike

  • Why can't I get the iPod Touch in color with 16 GB?

Hi! Happy Thanksgiving. So I really want to get the iPod touch 5th Generation for christmas/birthday (they're pretty close to eachother) however the one I want, which is the pink one, is about 70 $ more than the black one. After searching around for a little bit, I discovered that it's because the colored iPods have 32 GB as the lowest option, while the back one has 16 GB as the lowest. I would be perfectly happy with 16 GB considering the price reduction, but I really only want it in the color. So, why IS it that the colors don't come in a lower option on GB? Thanks!
PS. If anyone finds any great Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals on the iPod Touch 5th Generation (colors) please leave an answer for that also! Thanks so much! x

So basically... Apple just made that weird random rule..?
It is not a rule.  it is the decision that they made when producing the product.
They simply chose not to make the 16GB in other colors.

  • Should I get the iPod 5 now or wait for the next one to come out?

It is up to you. Based recent history you may have to wait until October 2014

  • Should I buy the iPod touch 5g if I already have an iPod touch 2g and an ipad 2

Should I buy and iPod touch 5g when I already have an iPod touch 2g and an ipad 2

Well it is up to you. But there is some changes between the ipod 4 and ipod 5. I own both ipods and I would recommend getting the ipod5. These are some of the differences.
The ipod 5 has flash. It is very helpful especially if you like taking pictures at night.
The ipod 5 has siri. I personally like Siri, but if you don't you could always go to Siri settings and turn it off. Siri can be  convinient in some cases. If you want to know the time in China or if you want to know the temperature in Hawaii.
    Also it works much faster!
A ipod 5 comes in color
It is similar to a iphone and the best part f it is that it is cheaper than a iphone!

  • Ipod nano...and now getting the ipod touch, can this be done ?

on our pc I have itunes for my ipod nano....hubby is getting an ipod touch but will be using his laptop to set up a new itunes
can we use each others itunes for downloading some music ? what I mean is
PC has loads of golden oldies
LAPTOP will have lots of new downloads
can the iphone be used on the PC and the LAPTOP and have all the music from both itunes, or will it be one or the other ?
    thanks in advance

*.its not giving me any option to take songs from the nano on to my laptop itunes,*
That would be correct, iTunes will only give you the facility to copy your iTunes Store purchases directly from an iPod to the computer, you'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
For everything else (music from CDs, other downloads and including iTunes purchased songs and in some cases, videos and games) there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:

  • How do I get the ipod touch to sync with the itune?

I have tried to sync my ipod touch with the itune, however when I plug into the computer, the itune doesn't detect the ipod touch eventhough the computer already detected the ipod touch. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the itune programme and restarting my ipod touch, however it seems like it is not really workin at all. Does anyone have any idea how to solve this problem. It will be really appreciated.

your problem sounded very similar to what i had and i looked around the apple website for some help. this helped me fix my problem http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302538 .... hope it helps you, i don't know whats causing it yet

  • Should I get an iPod touch 4g or an iPod touch 5g?

Last August, the power button of my IPod touch 4g got jammed. I went to the apple store and they gave me an entirely new ipod 4g. Last week however, my ipod 4g's battery suddenly could not hold a charge AT ALL(As soon as I unplug it, it dies). I then went to the apple store and they told me that I would have to pay $99 for another new ipod. I said I would wait a few day to see if it would get bette. Now, even when it is plugged in, it "runs out of power" after a several minutes and takes another 1 or 2 to restart, I have restored it and it has done no use. And also, the other day, I was doing FaceTime with a friend (while being plugged in and dying every 7 minutes or so) and I realized that the case was too tight. At first I paid no mind to it, but later I saw that the screen was starting to come up from the metal back! So do you think I should pay the $99 for another IPod touch 4g, or pay $270 (On sale) for an iPod touch 5g. I really want Siri and a lot of other stuff on the 5g, but the thing holding me away from the 5g is the lack of a ambiant light sensor.

It is up to you. If ony the battery is bad, Apple will exchange yur iPod for a refurbished one for $79.
A third-party place like the following will replace the batter for less. Google for more.
iPhone Repair, Service & Parts: iPod Touch, iPad, MacBook Pro Screens
Replace the battery yourself if you are up to it. You can purchase a replacement battery for about $10
