Should i go ahead and play with my new 16 gig 3g or wait...
i got it saturday and its still nib. i didn't mess with it or even intend to use it till my contract with verizon was up. now all the hype and finally 3gs has a confirmed release date i have it safely tucked away in the box waiting for june 19th so i can exchange it... i want to mess with it and get to know it better, but do not want to develop feelings for it because i will replace it with a new 3gs if my store doesn't sell out of them.

Have to disagree here, Apple have not even announced an iphone 5, it is pointless to speculate that we will see one or not see one until Apple actually releases a statement. ios was built and tested on the iphone 4 so there will not be any slowdown or laggyness compared to a phone that has not been released yet.
If we are advising potential apple product buyers then we should not be putting them off buying a iphone 4 on speculations alone. Just because apple have for the last few years released an iphone every june/july does not mean then have to stick to this approach.
Apple have not issued any statement regarding an iphone 5, until this time it does not exist, only in heresay on the internet.
Any one looking to get an iphone 4, to you i would say waiting until ios 5 is released is a personal choice, no matter if you wait or not you will be able to update via itunes. One way or another in the future you will have to do an ios update via itunes whether this is the 5.0 software or 5,2,1.
Please note that Apple are very closed mouthed about new hardware releases and potentially a new iphone could be round the corner, however there is no evidence to suggerst this, i.e Apple have not even mentioned an iphone 5 this year anything you hear towards the contrary is media spin thus far and speculation.
ios 5 was built and tested to work seamlessly on iphone 4, the beta software released to developers is being tested on iphone 4. Please do not listen to people telling you that the iphone 4 will not run this ios as well as a phone that does not exist yet. When iphone 5 launches it will most likely have dual processors and not until its launch will the next gen apps start appearing. -

I was not complete clear.
Since you never changed the settings in the advanced section of iTunes preferecnes, you have to chech that your music is really in the location setted in the folders reported in the advanced section. If not you have 2 ways: reset the position of this folders or in the actual disk organisation or in the pointing on the preferences.
If you press the reset button you just give to itunes its default setting as for the position of the music files: probably this will be a good choice if you have never changed any default preference.
But before I would check the folders and see if the songs are really there

The Flash plug-in is not deleted when you upgrade Safari. But in any event you should use the most recent compatible version of Flash - Download version 10.3.183.19 for Mac OS X 10.4 - 10.5 (6.1MB) - for your version of OS X.

My sister got an iPad and played with its passcode. She lost her passcode and had to reset the iPad using iCloud. Unfortunately, she accidentally pressed the iForgot button and leave the old and new password menu blank and quit it. She didn't really understand about iForgot so she thought it's fine. Any one Mac or iOS device can create only three iCloud accounts: this is tied to the serial number, not the user account. If you have already created three then all you can do is to use another Mac or iOS device to create a new iCloud account - once done you can sign into it on the device in question.

I downloaded the new version of pages about a month ago. Today I tried to open documents that I created and saved with the new version and received a message that I needed to download the new version. The app store shows the download. HUH?!?
I'm not sure what you mean by it making accessing files more complicated. I have both Pages 4.3 & Pages 5.1 icons in my Dock as well as Numbers 2.3 & Numbers 3.1. I continue to use the iWork '09 versions for my everyday needs. As long as the new versions are in your Applications folder & the '09 versions in the iWork '09 folder, Software Update will not have a problem updating them even if Apple should come out with a new update for the '09 versions.
Because I have moved the new versions to an external drive & renamed the apps because I want '09 to be the default apps, I do have to remember to move them back to my applications folder & restore the original names before updating. But since you like the new versions this "complication" doesn't apply to you. -

Now I do want to let you know that your phone has a "main" gmail account. If this "main" gmail account was the one you deleted it may be best that you reset your phone and activate it to your new gmail address.
The reason I recommend doing this is all of your purchased application information is also tied to your gmail.

You can't merge Apple IDs. You also can't cancel (delete) and existing ID, you can only choose to stop using it.
If your old ID was compromised and you can no longer access it, you'll have to contact Apple for assistance. Go to https://expresslane.apple.com ; click 'See all products and services' at the bottom of the page. In the next page click 'More Products and Services, then 'Apple ID'. TThat's the problem. I've tried to delete the current icloud account but in order to that you need to put in the old password which I don't have so it kicks me out.

Obviously if there is any big or known threat Apple will send out a firmware fix.
But the TC is designed to be end user simple device. It has no firewall that is visible at any rate. I don't know that it truly doesn't have a firewall but it is not part of the end user controls.
IMO if you have major security concerns that go beyond end device firewall, which is where Apple do put most of the security, since firewall in the router is plainly not a stop to anybody deliberately downloading an infected file or website, and most end users.. do not want a firewall that prevents them using the web like a business does, where only certain ports are allowed. Everything else tough luck.. you are not allowed to use it. Then TC is unsuitable for you anyway.. buy a proper firewall appliance. -

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the other ID. When you delete the account it will prompt you about what to do with the iCloud data. If you need to migrate it and merge it with the data in the new account choose Keep on My iDevice; then choose Merge to upload the data and merge it with the new account. If your data is already in the other account and you don't need to migrate it to the other account, choose Delete from My iDevice.
