Should I have received a wired keyboard?

When I bought my iMac i opted to pay extra for a wireless keyboard... It's fab, but not so fab when the batteries run out and I can't use my computer as I have no replacement batteries to hand.
So I'm wondering if I ought to have got a wired keyboard in the box as part of the deal. Afterall, it does say in the requirements for a wireless keyboard "Existing keyboard and mouse for initial setup"

It frankly all depends upon how you ordered your machine.
If, for example, you ordered it as a CTO (configure to order) model at an online Apple Store, they your wireless keyboard was bundled at a discount, replacing the wired keyboard you would otherwise have received. If you ordered a standard machine or a CTO model without changing the keyboard option, and ordered a wireless keyboard as an additional accessory in your cart, you would have received both keyboards.

I purchased my iPad and the apple care insurance from apples website, I received my iPad but didn't receive my apple care papers, should I have received any paperwork for that?

When purchased together, AppleCare is automatically activated and applied to your device, so no proof or registration is usually required. Apple usually sends documentation of coverage after a few days, though. If you didn't receive the documentation, it may have been lost in the mail. You can confirm coverage here:
    https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do
If that doesn't show the correct coverage (the expiration should be two years from your date of purchase) and it's been at least a couple of weeks since you purchased, call Apple support, ask to speak with someone in AppleCare Plan Administration, and explain the mistake to them.
    Regards.

System Preferences->BlueTooth and turn it off. Restart and see if that fixes the problem.

  • Should i have received an operating DVD with my new mac?

My mac is a few years old, drive's getting full so I thought its time for a wipe and re-install, or more likely a larger drive. The problem is I never received an OSX installation disk when I bought it direct from apple. Should I have done? I dont want to have to buy a new disk.

Yes, the discs were included in the box. You can purchase replacements from Apple:

  • Should I have received a software CD?

Just got a macbook pro with a 23" Cinema HD Display, but it doesn't seem to be working right. Everything is plugged in, but the image on the screen is just my desktop wallpaper. I have no icons appearing, no mouse, no windows, no dock--just the desktop picture. The only items that came with the display were a cleaning cloth, user manual, and warranty. I didn't get a software CD, but could this be the cause of the problem?

You don't need extra software or drivers to use an external display. You just plug it in and you're (almost) set. Go into System Preferences, and then click Displays. Somewhere in the display settings you should be presented with two boxes that represent your screens. Drag the "menu bar" (the white bar) in the smaller screen (which represents your MacBook Pro's screen) to the larger screen (which represents your new Cinema display). This will make your Cinema display the default display whenever it is available.
You may notice that the MacBook Pro's display is still on. Unless you want it on so that you have two active monitors for extra screen real estate, I would recommend reading through this thread, since I have just gone through the painful experience of finding out how to shut off the laptop's display when there is an external display plugged in:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1301459&tstart=0
I'd also advise against using the "mirror" option in the display settings, as that forces your large display to use your MacBook Pro screen's maximum resolution, which will make everything look pretty bad on your Cinema display.

  • I purchase kjv audio completed bible by zondervan how many parts should I have received to complete the audio bible

I PURCHASE THE KJV COMPLETE BIBLE DRAMATIZED AUDIO BY ZONDERVAN MY ORDER NUMBER IS MGN5JNX1Q8 PURCHASE DATE IS AUGUST 7, 2011 THE UNIT PRICE $47.95. WHAT I NEED TO KNOW IS HOW MANY PARTS FROM THE PRODUCTS COMPLETES THE BIBLE.  DOWNLOADED ONTO MY IPAD WAS 11 PARTS.  WHAT IS THE CORRECT AMOUNT OF PARTS.  RESPOND ASAP  THANK YOU. EMAIL [email protected]

This is from the Pixel Bender Language Reference:
"pixel1: Represents the value of one channel of an image. The name distinguishes this
single-element pixel from a pixel that contains multiple channels. Pixel values are
assumed to be 32-bit floating point numbers."
    32 bits = 4 bytes
So a channel is four bytes rather than the one you assumed. So this should explain the difference.

  • Should I have received a Lion OSX DVD w/ new iMac?

Can't find it anywhere...  how would I reinstall later on??

Good idea with the SL disk, but it'll depend on the build of the new machine - at some point they will no longer accept or be able to boot with the older OS. And, I've been told that if your Mac comes with lion preinstalled, you cannot download it from MAS (because it wasn't purchased there), a fact that may open up an entire new can or worms.

  • I have a wired keyboard which won't work with my MacBook Air unless I use the extension cable supplied with the apple keyboard. Is this normal or have I got a connection problem?

I Have an apple wired keyboard which suddenly won't work unless I use the apple ext cable supplied with the keyboard...used with the wire fixed into the keyboard it just won't respond.  Do u think the keyboard is faulty. ? I want to use it with my MacBook Air and a big screen.

My best guess is that either there's a small deformation of the USB plug of your keyboard or some foreign matter (like lint) inside the keyboard plug. When I was setting up my new lab last year I had to use the extension cables and I found that the female end of the extension cable was considerably tighter than the computer's USB port. If an Apple store is nearby it would be worth taking the computer, keyboard, and extension just for piece of mind.

  • Apple (wired) keyboard stopped working

    Hi everyone,
I bought a 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon "Nehalem" processor Mac Pro (model MC560LL/A) in April, 2011.
1 year and one month later (after the warranty expired, natch), the apple wired keyboard (MB110LL/B) that came with the computer stopped working. No stuck keys or repeating characters, just stopped working altogether.
I didn't drop the keyboard, or spill anything on it. As a matter of fact, I kept the keyboard clean with a cover. I tried the keyboard in every USB port, no dice. I've rebuilt permissions and zapped the PRAM, still no dice. I'm stuck using the clickety-clackety black keyboard from my G4.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Since it's been one month (and 2 weeks) out of warranty, should I still try to get Apple to replace it?
Thanks in advance for any help.
    p.s.- OS 10.6.8

OK, it looks like Christmas came early.
I called Apple (and spoke to a WONDERFUL service agent named Hannah), and she agreed to send me a replacement keyboard at no charge, even though the warranty on my non-working keyboard expired 38 days prior.
I was wanting to replace the wired keyboard that I have with another wired keyboard, because of the numeric pad. Unfortunately, Hannah informed me that Apple no longer sells the wired ones and that I would be getting a wireless keyboard as replacement. Bummer.
I ended up buying a new wired one, because I really need the numeric pad. I'll have to send the wireless one back. I feel awful that the good will was wasted. At least I left a glowing review for her and suggested that she get a raise!

  • With a wired keyboard and a 2014 iMac I cannot select multiple items which are not next to each other

I have recently changed from Windows 7 desktop to a new iMac running Mavericks.  I have chosen a wired keyboard as I like  the usual Delete key function.
I cannot find out how to select several items which are not next to each other (e.g. words in Pages).  The well known method in Windows, which is repeated in the the Apple Finder Help screen, does not work.  Would be grateful for advice

    Hi JBowfin,
If I am understanding your question correctly, I believe that I have an article that will address this question for you:

  • Infinity2 Install, Should cables have been replace...

Had a subcontrator non openreach engineer install my infinity 2 on saturday, Nice enough chap but my query is this
I Have overhead wire outside house into a small oval white box into the house followed by a very old small master socket and two extentions running from this to upstairs and lounge. The chap replaced the front plate of my master socket to another same design and changed the extention in the lounge to a NTE5 master where the infinity works from and my digital phone.
As the wiring is 30 years old and the chap said the extentions where not done by BT should he have change the wiring. Im worried im not going to get my full speed potential. Line was estimated to be 60mb down and 20 down and im only getting 45 Down and 15 up. Im hoping things improve as i could save my money and just get the inifinty 1 package.
    Thank you.

Are you sure the 'very old small master socket' is a master socket and not a junction box?
It sounds as if the wiring is not correct.  There should not be any extensions coming off the incoming telephone line route before you get to the master socket.  The master will be a socket with two different sockets for telephone and modem.  If you have such an extension, it will cause problems if it isn't in use, and big problems if it is in use.
I'm not completely sure from your description if the  'very old small master socket' is a master or not.  May be ok if it is, but then it would be odd to have both telphone and modem off the same socket downstream of it.
The age of the wiring is not an issue of itself, but this style of wiring was common 30 years ago.  It was fine with telephones, and does not matter with ADSL as long as everything is properly filtered, but a disaster with Infinity.

  • I have an Apple pro wired keyboard that I want to use with a Windows PC.  It seems to recognize it through plug

I have an Apple pro wired keyboard that I want to use with a Windows PC.  It seems to recognize it through plug & play, but stops working after a few minutes.  Does anyone know of a fix to this situation?

    Hi,
Could you explain that again using different words ?
I am not clear on what it is that you want to do.
What are you trying to sync ?
    Contacts ?
    Emails ?
    Other info ?
If it is Mail who do you normally get it and what applications are you using ?
People also might want to know if it is a POP or IMAP account before they can help.
