Should I keep my image size slightly larger for a better quality?
I set my images at 60% quality JPG files out of photoshop which seems to give a very nice representation.
I set up a site to take a full screen, so I expect it to be larger on a bigger screen then what I see on mine.
I figured to keep every image actual size at about 25% bigger when the finlal needed size in the layout, so if the site is ever on the bigger screen then images have some stored resolution to be enlarged and accomodate an increase in size.
So all of mine images are scaled at about 75%.
Is it a good practise or things don't work this way in Flash?
Perhaps it is better to keep the images to 100% (rather than importing intentially enlarges images) but make the maximum quality? Or both ways kind of work out?
there's no one way to handle images that's best for everyone. the larger your images, the less pixelated they'll appear when scaled (use smoothing) up but the larger their file size and the longer they'll take for a user to load.
you have to pick what satisfies your needs and works best for you.

So, to keep the size fixed, In HTML export Options in image tab keep the image size as fixed.

You would have to look in your TV settings, that is likely the issue.

I have checked all the settings when importing..the maximum size Lightroom will keep it is 30x 40cm... Lightroom is doing it to all the photos I import into the program.
I need to be able to export my image from Lightroom in its original size and stop Lightroom of making it smaller.. Any clue on what should I try?

CarolDigital files don't have sizes in centimeters or inches, meters or yards. They have only pixels. If LR is not changing the number of pixels, it is not changing the digital image. When the image is printed, the number of pixels packed into every inch has a large effect on the quality of the print. This is the pixels per inch number, or "ppi". For a smooth print paper it is generally accepted that 300 ppi produces optimum quality, but for canvas a lower ppi, as low as 150 even, will do. Unfortunately, your camera puts a tag on the digital file which sets a default ppi of only 72. The reason is very anachronistic and silly and is a hangover from 30 years ago when Apple monitors had a resolution of 72 dpi, a measure long ago abandoned. That tag is misleading because it gives the impression that a very large print can be made from the pixels just as they come from the camera (the smaller the ppi, the larger the print) and some beginners think that is the only size print that can be made. But that not true. It is only a default tag, a suggestion, and it can be disregarded or changed (LR changes it to 240 ppi) and any sized print made. The real, operative, ppi will be the pixel dimensions divided by the print dimensions. Your image with all its pixels (uncropped other than to the 1:1.4 paper ratio) will have an operative 93 ppi on b0 paper which is a bit low. I would suggest using LR's resize function to double it to 7296 pixels on the short side.

Keep actual image size when rotating and exporting to PDF
When one rotates an image in a non-right angle in InDesign, the resulting image in the PDF, even if looks the same size of the original image when compared save for being rotated, actually shrink in size. That's noticieable when one saves the image from the PDF as the rotated image appears rotated inside the same size of the original, rather than being larger. I fear it may cause some quality loss at print. Is there any workaround around it?
Or it is just a previsualization glitch and the file prints normal? (as while importing the PDF in Illustrator seems to keep the original resolution of the image)Peroyomas wrote:

I can't see a difference in size between two copies of the same image when one is rotated in a non-right angle and the other is at zero rotation.
From the way your question is worded, I'm not sure what you are doing.

Image size and format for IMovie
I am trying to make a short stop motion animation in IMovie. I have made my images in Adobe illustrator. I transfer the images into IMovie as JPEGS.the images, which are basically line drawings, look sharp and clean but as soon as you watch them as moving pictures they become broken up.

Image size vs zip for reducing
I am not looking forward to open up files/mouse up to image size/type up the required 800x600 a million times, and I just discovered control/compress . My camera has, in the 2 sizes of the smallest set of JPEG, the larger @ 2784x1856 is a 728 KB which gets zipped to 712 KB. Being mathematically challenged, I can only tell that a little size is lost with respect to the 800x600 that I am allowed to by the recipient, from the fact that I can manually compress to 800x600 and get a better 1.2 MB.
In the next larger JPEG, the same 2784 X 1856 is a 2.6 MB which is zipped to 2.5, and I need to check the image size in pixel, VERY IMPORTANT for the recipient. It probably will be about double than the smaller, but would the pixels exceed too much the 800 x 600, should I give up compress altogether, and do it manually? And by the way, how do I open a zip file? And above all, can it be used for pict?Thank you PZ.

Qtcurve toolbar icon size too large for GTK2
I'm using qtcurve for a unifed look of gtk and qt apps, however I have a small problem which seems to affect only thunar (which I use as a file manager)
The icons in the toolbar are way too large! Here is a screenshot:

Using Ctrl + 0 should reset the zoom, note it is set for each individual site.

To get your toolbar back try pressing the keyboard Alt Key (that is probably next to the spacebar) and may temporarily cause the menu toolbar to display, pressing V then T should give you the options to set the toolbars you wish to display such as the bookmarks toolbar. Note your sone may well have been making use of the firefox button, that also give similar access to features

You may be in full screen viewing mode,that also causes the menu bars to disappear,try pressing keyboard key F11 (wait a few seconds for screen to redraw) that should toggle you in and out of full screen mode.
One thing you may considering in future is setting up on your Vista Operating System separate '''accounts''' for your self and your son, that way each can to some extent make changes the way they like without unduly affecting the other.
When setup like that each user has their own firefox [[profile|profiles]] and again changes can be made separately.
There could be other reasons for your problems, but I am presuming your son just forgot to return the setting to the ones you had been using. -
How do I change the image size in Save for Web?
I just upgraded to Illustrator CS6 on a PC. I try to save my graphic in Save for Web and want to alter the image size, but it won't change, it just goes back to the original size. If I change the percentage box, the values change. I have tried linking and unlinking the proportions and nothing. What am I missing?? I don't have time to guess the percentage to get to the exact width I need.
Make changes in the Image Size section of the Save for Web. Input new values in Width and press Tab key to move to Height field. Click on the Link icon to unconstrain proportions. As you press the Tab key again to go out of focus of the Width and height boxes, you will see the changes reflect inside the Save for Web window. If this doesn't work then make sure you have updated Ai to 16.0.1 or 16.1.0 depending on the type of installation (from Disc or from Creative cloud) respectively.

When running FB game apps, the image loaded is too large for the FB space. The program looks for a "zoom" setting and does not find it. This was from the error screen. I have not been able to locate where the image zoom is located (found the font adjustment). I am new to FireFox and would like to sort this out please.
Your installed plug in assume Shockwave Flash 10.3, but I thought it was Adobe Flash 10.3. Are they one and the same?

Should I back up my laptop when upgrading for the beta
I have a 2010 i7 2.66 GHz macbook pro. I have never backed it up because I don't have the money to buy an external hard drive. I really want to participate in the OSX Yosemite beta program. I am always a fan of new OS's and would like to try it out. How ever, I have some video games I have downloaded and music and my garage band projects. I really dont want to start over. If I try out for the beta will I lose everything on my computer? FYI I am downloading from apples official website so it is completely legal. Thanks in advance.

Your internal storage has 320GB, but drives that small aren't common anymore. The minimum price for external drives of various sizes is around $65-70. What I mean by that is you might as well get a 1TB (1000GB) drive for backup, because if you buy a smaller one it's not going to be that much cheaper than the 1TB these days. Here is an example - Western Digital 1TB external - the 500GB version only saves you $10. If you are really truly strapped for cash then I guess you could save the $10 and get the 500GB, because it's still big enough to back you up. But $10 more doubles the size to 1TB. The extra capacity would let Time Machine save more versions of your backups going back further in time.
Up to now most internal storage has been HDD (hard disk drive). It spins fast, moving parts means more prone to failure. The industry is transitioning to SSD (Solid State Drive). SSD has no moving parts so it is more reliable, and SSD is also many times faster than an HDD. All new Apple laptops use SSD.
But I don't know why you are being told to get an SSD, because if you are low on money you can get the same capacity for much less. Above I linked to a 1TB HDD for $70. An SSD version of that would cost almost $600...8x as much as the same size HDD! Maybe a little less if you put it together yourself, but you wouldn't really save that much. Forget about the SSD for now because it would not speed up your backup. You would be unable to take advantage of the SSD's speed because the transfer speed between the two drives would be limited by the fact that your current internal HDD is unable to feed data at the speed that the SSD can take it.
SSDs are fantastic, I just ordered one myself to upgrade in my MacBook Pro. But they are not practical for someone on such a tight budget. Better to wait until the technology matures and the price comes down more. For now, save your money and get an external HDD.
Other answers: I don't know about the screws. A store like ifixit.com, which stocks Mac parts, may have some if your computer store doesn't. Also, I would not recommend an online backup service for your immediate purpose for a couple of reasons: It would take you weeks to upload your hundreds of GB, and you would not be able to quickly reconstruct your bootable system from it. An online backup is more of a supplement to an immediately usable local backup, better for restoring individual files, not entire disks. -
