Should I keep replacement SIM card?

Just replaced my 4s for technical problems with the same model (insurance claim) The new phone came with a SIM card, which I replace with the one from my old phone, is this other card any good for anything? The directions say they just want the old phone back Thank You

Why would you not be able to use your existing Apple ID and iTunes account on a new laptop? If you authorized the computer - you should be able to use your existing account - unless you already had 5 computers authorized with the existing ID - and that was why iTunes would not accept the ID. However, I'm sure that you would have received a popup message from iTunes telling you that you had reached the limit.
I just received a new MBP and my daughter did as well. My entire family shares an Apple ID and we had no issues at all with my Apple ID and iTunes on our new computers and I did not have to sign up for a new account. Did you even try the old ID?

in many countries to make phones seem less expensive
carriers pay most of the phones price for the customer
but this come at the cost of the phone only being able to work
with the carrier this is called a sim lock
the only people who can remove a sim lock is the carrier which
the phone is sim locked to they been doing it like that for at least 20 years

Why would that even matter?
The device obviously has a hardware issue and is under warranty, take it to Apple for replacement and move on with life. No reason to make things difficult.

That is how it connects to a cell provider. If you are using your iPhone just as an iPod you will need the nanoSIM if you ever update or have to restore that phone.

How was this iPhone unlocked? Did a carrier unlock for you?
If you did the unlocking by jailbreaking there is nothing anyone on here can do to help you.

Replacement Droid - keep old sim card?

My Droid died and I'm getting a new one in the mail. I wasn't able to download any data from the old one, so should I keep the old sim card and put it in the new one? Do I have to send the sim card back with the old Droid? Thanks!

Should I handover my SIM card?

My sister is taking over my account (i own the phone she wants the phone #). She now wants me to send her my SIM card (but i keep the phone)... What is on the SIM card? Will this mean my phone is unusable with AT&T in the future (I want to get a new ph# eventually). What about my iTunes will I lose it? Just wondering if giving her my SIM card is necessary...

All she/you have to do is have your existing sim deactivated by AT&T. You'll need to keep that deactivated sim in your iPhone to update software or restore the phone, should the need arise. You cannot update software or restore any iPhone without a valid sim card installed. The sim need not be activated, but it must be present. Have your sister go to an AT&T store, have your existing sim deactivated & have her get a new sim. The iPhone stores no data on a sim card other than your account information.

If you are shipping back I assume you called Apple and they are sending you a box (as that is what they do). When you get it you will find:
1) Details short instructions of what to do.
2) Paper Clip
3) Foam packaging
4) Box (with foam in it too)
5) Sleeve in Box inside
6) Tape
Instructions will say to
1) back up phone (if you can via iTunes)
2) Use paperclip to eject and keep SIM (put in spare phone if you have it)
3) Put phone in sleeve.
4) Put sleeve in padded box.
5) Put box in padded shipping box.
6) Use tape provided to tape shut.
7) Remove outer shipping slip to reveal return slip (you don't have to pay for anything)
8) Go drop off for shipping or call FedEx for pickup.

When sending in the phone for service you want to remove the SIM Card and do not put any accessories in with the box that came with your iPhone.

Wifi connection to iphone fails after replacing sim card

the sim card on my iphone failed and had to be replaced. the phone works fine now EXCEPT cannot get wifi from verizon Actiontec router: says Incorrect Password. other devices (iPad, Kindle) still connect OK. please help.

Not sure if the sim card is envolved with the WIFI connections, But maybe it is.
Try deleting the connection and redefining it.
