Should I keep the Otterbox Defender screen protector for iPhone 4S

Hello everyone! I have a quick question. I own a Otterbox Defender for my iPhone 4S and was thinking about removing the built in screen protector and replacing it with a Invisible Sheild from Zagg. Do you guys think I should do this? Also do you think a full body Zagg can protect my iPhone without a case? Let me know your thoughts and opinions! Thank you!

I originally used the Otterbox Defender with my 4S, and I immediately removed the built-in screen protector. I didn't like the way it felt when using the touch screen. Instead, I applied a screen protector directly to the screen. (I can't remember the brand since it's been almost two years.) I didn't care about dust protection. I just cared about impact protection.
After a few months, I ditched the Defender because it was too bulky. I've used an Incipio case since then and my phone still looks like new.

  • Will i need a case or screen protector for iphone 5

will i need a case or screen protector for iphone 5? heard the glass is tougher, but still concerned about scratches.

I think you probably should ask if others ever felt they needed them. I can tell you from my experience that applying a screen protector never worked out for me and I always took them off shortly after applying (bubbles / dust enclosed). But then a former colleague had his applied in an Apple Store and that looked perfect. Fortunately I never had a scratch in a screen as I always took good care (and my iPhones always had a pocket in my trowsers to themselves and didn't need to share it with keys or other scratchy objects ...).
The case is a completely different story: I think every phone I had so far managed at least once to slide out of my pockets (don't laugh!) while being on a loo and hit the floor from low hight. Due to the covers I had, the phone looked as new as before, just the cases had a slight scratch if at all. Therefore a case would be highly recommended esp as it can safe you iPhone if you drop it from higher hight.
Reading the first hands-on reviews it appears that the new iPhone 5 is built with materials that are less prone to scratch or crack but my first purchase next Friday will be a case. Not sure if bumper or full case but a case nevertheless.

  • What is the best privacy screen protector for the MacBook Air?

I am looking for a privacy screen protector for my 13" MacBook Air that will interfere the least amount possible with image clarity and such. I work in a busy university medical center as an intern (so sadly I do not have my own office) and would like to be able to use my MacBook while sitting somewhat close to other people. Privacy is an issue because the information I deal with is protected by HIPAA and FERPA. What are the best privacy screen protectors out there, as far as quality and performance go?

Best there is, is the 3M privacy screen

3M has the entire marked cornered in quality exotic plastic films and screens.

  • Do you recommend using a screen protector for iPhone 5?

Does iPhone 5's screen scratch easily with normal use? I'm really careful with my Apple products, but I don't want to have scratches on my screen.

    had
2 ipod  touch never used one
1 iphone never used one but did crack the back glass a bit a screen protector would not have helped there though
1 ipad crack the front screen a bit from drop doubt a protector would have helped
don't really have much in the ways of scratches on any of them but if you are the type who will try to sell
the device  you own as soon as a new one is released then maybe both a rugged case and screen protector would be a good investment

  • Best screen protector for iPhone 5?

I need a good screen protector that protects against drops and scratches, since I recently got a new phone case which does not do good in protecting my phone, it's just for the looks. Any suggestions?

The iSmooth Screen Protecto work great!
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0098ACVH8
    -Pros:
perfect material (no glare, doesnt inhibit brightness, feels like bare screen)
doesnt smudge easy, easy to clean.
best value for the money, you get plenty of chances to mess up
the Seller (smooth global) was absolutely amazing, they've sent multiple free packages and did everything they could to make sure i was satisfied.
    -Cons:
difficult to apply (they are cut nearly perfectly to screen so alignment is crucial)
like any other screen protector, they catch dust easily during application
    Overall:
I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for screen protectors.
Be sure to do business with Smooth Global whenever possible, they are great.
    Application tips:
    1. Take your time
    2. make sure screen is free of dust
    3. do in a room with little air movement
    4. practice aligning protector before you remove the sticker

  • Full Screen protector For iPhone 6

I've noticed a lot of screen protectors only sit on the front and don't cover the whole front face (I'm thinking because of the curve). Anyone know of a protector that covers the full face?

Why don't you check this out it say it has rounded edges for the phone might be the one you are looking for, but I'm not sure check out the review

  • Anti-glare Screen Protector for iPhone 5

I really like the feeling and the performance of anti-glare screen protector, any recommendation for it? As far as I know, Sir Lancelot's Armor, Green Onion and power support(not released yet) are the best in my opinion.

I can't imagine that they would take it.
Ask them tomorrow, but I cannot see a reason why they would take a return on a used product

  • Do you need a screen protector for iphone4s

Do you need a screen protector for iphone 4s ?

It depends on how you handle and use the phone.  If you put it in a pocket or bag with loose change, keys, grit, etc, the oleophobic coating will likely scratch and sometimes the glass will scratch as well.

  • Boxwave Cleartouch Crystal Protector for iPhone 4?  Sending Back the Zagg.

Has anyone tried the Boxwave Cleartouch Crystal Screen Protector for iPhone 4 yet? I've used Boxwave products in the past and like them, however the 3G protectors did not get good reviews for fit so I was wondering if anyone had purchased and installed a set?
I assume it comes with the front and back protectors? It doesn't say in product description but the images seem to indicate both sides.
I bought a Zagg Invisible Shield protector and was really disappointed. The flexibility of the product during installation resulted in the area around the Home button getting distended a bit and curling at the edges so it can't adhere properly and looks bad. Clearly I over squeegeed, but I've installed protectors on iPhone's 1G and 2Gs with no problems and I felt I was applying pressure as indicated in the Zagg video.
I also don't care for the "orange peel" effect and stickiness of the Zagg and it seems to be a dirt magnet, not good for using with the Apple bumpers.
So any input on the Boxwave would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

  • Anyone ordered/reviewed this full cover glass protector for iPhone 6?

    Here you go: http://www.spigen.com/brands/apple/iphone/iphone-6-and-6-plus/iphone-6/iphone-6- screen-protector-full-cover-glass-4-7.html
Spigen just released their latest screen protector for iPhone 6 which is a full cover version.
I have been using their glass protector (not a full cover version), it's very nice but ever since then I've been looking for a glass screen protector that doesn't leave a gap around the edges of the screen.
But i'm worried that this glass protector will have the same problem like others had - "still some space between the curved screen and the protector".
So I hoping anyone who ordered/reviewed this glass protector could shed some light.
    Thank you.

    Hello spinworkz,
I have bought this screen protector shortly after the release.
Once received I was very excited to use it with my Spigen slim armor case, as all the other full screen protectors are not compatible with this case.
Installation was fairly easy. You have to align it properly on the screen otherwise the cases will push against the screen protector. After installation I got very very disappointed with the quality. There is some space around all edges to make sure it is case compatible with most Spigen cases. On the instructions it writes that the screen protector is designed to use with their cases and that if you don't use their cases the screen protector might collect dust.
Well the dust collection is a major problem even with the slim armor!
It has big gaps between the screen protector and my slim armor and after one day use, all around the edges it's full of dust! The screen protector "lays" down on the flat part of the screen and is NOT going over the rounded edges, therefore it leaves a gap between the rounded edges and the screen protector in which the dust is collected.
After 1 day I dropped my phone from my bed table and guess what?!  The screen protector just cracked from the bottom edge where it doesn't have a solid bond over the rounded edges. I emailed Spigen and they supplied me with a new one which I still have laying here in the box as I decided to go for the ZAGG Invisibleshield HDX,   it's a poor design and I would NOT recommend spending your money on this piece of .........
    Hope this helps...

  • Does apple recommend a screen protector for the iPad 4?

Does Apple recommend a screen protector for the iPad with a retina screen?

Apple's recommendations are usually hardware and software related. How to charge the battery, the benefits of backing up, transferring purchases, and things like that.
I have never seen Apple officially recommend any third party accessory and I doubt that they ever will do so. Using a screen protector is up to the individual. I have always used a screen protector of some type on all of my iDevices. I have somewhat oily skin and I would rather trash and have to clean a screen protector than have to keep up with cleaning the glass.
I have an iPad 3 and I have it encased in an OtterBox Defender case with a built in screen protector. My iPad 3 is in pristine condition - screen and back. My OtterBox Defender has taken quite a beating however, and I prefer that the case take the abuse and not the iPad!

  • Please recommend a good case w/ belt clip till the otterbox defender....

    comes out.
I just got a email saying my phone should be In tomorrow & I need a good, protective case w/ a belt clip to hold it In untill the Otterbox defender case comes out for the iPhone 4.
    Please recommend a good case.

Does anybody know of a leather flip case with a belt clip? The Otterbox is nice, but it still leaves the screen facing everyone when it's on the belt; I'd rather cover it, if only for privacy reasons.
I'm using Proporta's Aluminium Lined Leather case with my 3G, but their iPhone 4 version (http://www.proporta.com/F02/PPF02P05.php?tid=5140&tmode=des) omits the clip for some bizarre reason.
At this rate I might see if simply putting a bumper on my phone will let it fit the existing case, though I'll have to cut a bit out of the back if I want to use the flash, of course
