Should i open my new iPod Touch or wait for the (S) model?

So i just bought an iPod Touch 2G and just found out that the new iPhone 3G S will have a faster processor and other extras to play games better, in fact, some say that the App Store might slip in two sections, one section for the S model and the other for the rest of the iDevices.
Should i hold off and wait and see if Apple might also upgrade the iPod Touch in near future?

Whatever floats your boat. I have a 2nd Gen Touch, which is great, but if I were in the market now for a Touch, I'd wait.

Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen

Sounds like a case of entering an incorrect passcode over and over. Only fix is to follow the instructions in that article you reference, HT1212, and it may take a couple tries to get it to work right.

There are some major differences between the 4 and th 4S. The 4S has a faster processor, better camera, Siri, speech-to-text. Whether any of those things are important to you is something only you can determine. If you are happy with your current phone and none of those things matter to you, you should wait. Personally, I found the features of the 4S made it well worth the upgrade from the 4 for me.

Brand new iPod touch restarts itself all the time

Hello, my dad just came home from Japan, with a brand new iPod touch.
I managed to register it in iTunes, but when i updated the firmware i got an error message. I tried again and i think that i succeed. Then i started to sync music and the rest of the stuff. The syncing stopped after a minute, and when i tried to navigate on my iPod i realised that the touch screen didn't respond. So after several attempts, i made a hard reset.
But now, the iPod touch restarts itself. The Apple logo comes up, and then the screen turns off in a dramatical way, and then the Apple logo comes up again. If i hard reset my device again, the process continous.
I sometimes the iPod shows the "charge battery" screen, and then I can charge the battery. BUT after 5 minutes, the iPod touch starts restarting itself again. :S
Does anyone have a solution to this? Extremely strange.

I suspect you have a hardware problem. Probably a non-functioning battery (over or under) and causing a hardware reset. Bring it to an Apple Store for replacement.

As the title says, this is a brand new iPod touch bought from a store, I plugged it in a commenced the "setting up" process through iTunes on may iMac. It got to the stage where it said allow this computer to access the device (or something along those lines), i clicked yes, and then a message came up "to allow access, please respond on your iPod touch. however the ipod screen is black, and pressing the buttons doesn't work. How can i fix this? or do I need to return it?

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

How do I keep my music from my old 1st gen ipod mini when the computer that I originally loaded it with was stolen more than 5 years ago and transfer all the music onto my new ipod touch? My fear has always been that plugging my mini into another computer and attempting to download more music onto it or take what's on there off will end up erasing all of it because of file sharing regs. I would really prefer not to have to repurchase several hundred dollars of music as many of the original cd's that I used to download have been either lost or damaged over the years. Do all new iPods Touch's come with the January Update?

I'm looking at getting myself an iPod Touch and I've found the 16GB version at a really low price but it doesn't mention whether it includes the January update. Do all new iPod Touch's include the January Update or do you still have to buy it separately?

It varies depending on where you look.
I emailed one online store (in the UK) asking whether or not the iPod Touch they were selling had the update and they said some of them do, some of them don't.
I would make sure you ask when ordering (unless from a site like Amazon which sells both those with updates and those without.

Look iTunes>Preferences>Devices...is a backup listed for your iPhone 5 dated BEFORE you restored your iPhone 4 backup to your iPhone 5? If not, your data is gone. If there is a backup, on your iPhone 5: Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings. You should now be able to restore that backup, if it exists, to your iPhone 5.
